- 1973-ginetta-g15
Ginetta – British lightness in its purest form. The G15 marked a commercial success for the small racing car manufacturer Ginetta, allowing them to offer a sports car primarily designed for the road in addition to the race-oriented G4. Instead of the Ford engines previously used, the G15 was equipped with the engine from the Sunbeam Hillman Imp. The engineers at Ginetta were enthusiastic about this modern four-cylinder engine made of light alloy. The G15 was presented to the general public at the 1967 London Motor Show, and only about 800 units were built by 1974. The Ginetta G15 offered here is powered by a tuned 995cc four-cylinder engine producing approximately 80 hp, which, combined with a curb weight of just 550 kg, still enables it to deliver impressive performance today. Thanks to its rear-engine layout, the agile response of the suspension, and the low seating position, this compact sports car delivers plenty of driving fun even at low speeds and feels right at home on winding roads. This G15, complete with a FIA Historic Regularity Car Pass and FIVA Identity Card, is in excellent condition both technically and visually. A user manual, a parts and price list, as well as many other documents are included. 1973 Ginetta G15 Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1962-alfa-romeo-giulia-1600-spider
The Giulia Spider belongs to Alfa Romeo's 101 series. The convertible was unveiled alongside the Giulia TI and Giulia Sprint GT in Monza in the summer of 1962. The car was largely identical to its predecessor, the Giulietta Spider, and was also built by Pininfarina. The 1600 cc engine with 92 hp was the same as in the Giulia Sprint and allowed a top speed of 172 km/h. The external differences to the previous model were minor. The body was extended by a few centimeters behind the door to increase passenger space, an air scoop was added to the bonnet to accommodate the larger engine, and the previously single-piece side windows were given small triangular windows at the front. The Giulia on offer is a Swiss delivery, built on 12 July 1962 and delivered to Alfa Romeo Lugano on 13 July. Presumably, the pretty convertible remained unsold for some time or served as the dealer's private car – in any case, it was not first registered until 1967 in the canton of Ticino. In March 2021, the Giulia was taken over from its female owner by the consignor and added to his collection. Many years ago, the Alfa Romeo was fitted with an technical identical replacement engine of the type AR00536, manufactured in 1965, and was probably restored a few years ago. Still in its original combination of ‘rosso’ with black imitation leather upholstery, the Giulia is in good to very good condition and will be handed over to a new owner with its last veteran MOT completed in April 2021. 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack Manual
A rare and highly desirable UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox, genuine factory 'X Pack', one of only 137 examples built. At the time of its introduction in 1977, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage represented an impressive return to form for the British manufacturer, combining true supercar performance with the finest appointments of a luxury GT in the best of British tradition. Though subsequent models went through mechanical performance upgrades, it took nearly a decade before the V8 Vantage truly achieved 'supercar' status. The Series 3, first introduced at the 1986 British International Motor Show, was the ultimate iteration of the muscular V8 Vantage. Officially entitled V580X, quickly becoming known as the 'X-Pack', it was equipped with four dual-barrel 48mm Weber IDF carburettors, high-compression Cosworth pistons, larger inlet ports and higher lift camshafts, resulting in a remarkable 432bhp from its 5.3 litres. Described by one journalist as 'a Hemi Road Runner built by Bentley', the new and improved V8 Vantage was a genuine 200mph 'supercar' and although not lightweight, could see off the skimpy Ferrari 512BB and Testarossa plus the Lamborghini Countach with aplomb and carry an extra two passengers. Dating from early 1988, #V5802586X is an original factory-built, manual gearbox 'X-Pack' car and was first registered on 8th January 1988 by Reg Vardy Ltd. before subsequently being sold to its first owner, a Mr John Mills of Stratford-upon-Avon. He only kept the car until March 1990 when our lucky custodian acquired the Aston and he has owned it ever since, his fastidious care being evident in the gleaming Suffolk Red paintwork, polished Ronal wheels and inviting leather interior in fresh Magnolia and Suffolk Red complemented by immaculate walnut veneers. It's supplied with its original book pack containing the owner’s manual, wiring diagram, Aston Dealerships booklet, along with the all-important service record which currently displays 18 stamps, the first by Reg Vardy, then from April 1988 through to June 2000, Newport Pagnell Works. Stratstone Aston then took up the mantle after a period of storage from 2008 until 2010, and latterly Aston Martin Workshops of Beamish took care of the car. A substantial invoice from AMW (£14,365) refers to the rectification of various mechanical issues and a full service. In 2013, AMW also undertook some paint correction works to keep the Aston in tip top order producing a further bill for £8,482. Within the history file are details of a speedometer head change (a known fault) by Aston Works back in December 1988 at 19,935 miles and when combined with the indicated mileage, at the time of photography, of 24,177 the Aston appears to have covered just 44,112 miles from new. There are a number of other invoices relating to routine servicing and old MOTs suggesting that this fabulous X-Pack has been diligently maintained all its days. Very rarely do hand-built cars as special as this come to market and this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a superb example of Britain's first supercar. It's one of only 137, fitted with a manual ZF gearbox, low mileage, known provenance and ownership from new, detailed history, an MOT valid until June 2025 and really well presented. - 1972-lotus-elan-sprint
A remarkably well preserved, low ownership Elan Sprint indicating just 16,588 miles from new. Utterly wholesome, charming and ready for its next adventure. Offered here is perhaps the most authentic Lotus Elan Sprint likely to make the open market. According to Lotus archives, chassis #7201 0618G was manufactured in January 1972 for the domestic market finished in Lotus Yellow (LO7) over Cirrus White (LO4) separated by a gold band and bumpers, a standard feature of the Elan Sprint. It was supplied new to its first owner through Lotus dealer, Foley Park Motors in Kidderminster and first registered in February of the same year. Documents within the history file record that the Elan remained in single ownership from delivery in 1972 through to 2019 when it was sold by Paul Matty Sports Cars to its second owner showing just 15,862 miles. The description in the advertisement stated that Paul Matty had in fact performed the original Pre-Delivery Inspection at the Lotus dealership when new, that it retained its immaculate original interior, dashboard, hood and tools and that it was 'one for the serious collector'. In 1990, this Elan featured in Mike Taylor's book Lotus Elan the Complete Story and the images from then show fine details that appear to remain untouched to this day including the 'sticky' front number plate and period pressed rear plate. Further documentation within the history shows recent attention in October 2020 from a classic car service specialist showing a full inspection, steering column service, starter solenoid, brake system overhaul, carbs stripped and rebuilt, a full service and five new correct tyres with a final invoice of just over £3,500. Today, this remarkable Elan Sprint is presented to public auction with its hood, tonneau, tools, the history file, current V5C registration certificate, old V5Cs supporting low ownership, the Heritage Certificate confirming chassis and matching engine number, a 1972 dated (likely original) Elan owners handbook, trophies from concours wins and a copy of Lotus Elan – the Complete Story, featuring the car throughout. There is also a period photo that appears to show the original owner with his prized Elan, having won the 1978 Lotus Open Day Concours and being congratulated by Colin Chapman. Although exempt, it will have a fresh MOT prior to the sale. The universally respected motoring journalist and brand ambassador, Harry Metcalfe, has owned an identical example for over 30 years with numerous videos available online demonstrating his appreciation and showing praise for, to quote 'One of the greatest sports cars of all time'. A link to the 30 year review [Here] To summarise, this is an unrepeatable opportunity to take ownership of a remarkably well preserved, low ownership, low-mileage Elan Sprint. One of, if not the best we have seen that drives every bit as well as it looks. It is utterly wholesome, charming and ready for its next adventure. 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1996 Porsche 993 Targa 1
The story behind this collectible... - Cornering the Porsche 993; it's like peanut butter to the roof of your mouth. - The Porsche 911 993. A Porsche that is very important to many and closed things, but also opened new doors in Stuttgart. It was the very last 911 that used purely air to cool. Also, it was the last 911 that Ferdinand Porsche himself experienced. Four days after the last 993 was born in Stuttgart, Ferdinand breathed his last (air-cooled) breath. R.I.P. hero! Compared to its predecessor (and no, this did not come from the introduction leaflet, this time it really was!) the 993 was revolutionary. An improved suspension and 15% power gain over the 964 made it a perfect Autobahn-hero. Überhaupt Porsche is awfully good at the core of what we are talking about; driving. Emphasizing the -for an enthusiast- essential things. Driving, experience and emotion. And we can tell you that a 993 Carrera Targa has all of those. How about our very own gem? Delivered in ever-sunny California, USA, she has already racked up 187 thousand miles of smiles. Her Arktissilber exterior, combined with the sleek midnight blue interior, is simply a complementary magnet. Before she was allowed to spend the night at our clubhouse, we had her thoroughly checked and pampered by our Porsche specialist. And for those who like the doubters, rest assured, this beauty is not just for show. She is perfect for everyday use. So yes, we thought of the practical side too. It can save you some nights on the couch at home. When will you stop by to admire her in person? - 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS 1
Offered on behalf of a lifetime Ferrari aficionado. Interesting Ferrari collection with successive mid-engined V8 Spiders from 1979 until 2006, beautifully finished in Grigio and Argento. For the first time in the history of VSOC, we offer an entire collection on behalf of one owner. This collection is special because all the cars fit well into the same theme: V8 Ferrari and low mileage. All but one are with manual gearboxes, European versions and all are in lovely condition and properly serviced. Do call us and ask for Rogier or Alex. We are happy to inform you! Open sports cars are an integral part of Ferrari tradition: the first Ferrari ever to be built was an open sports car. In the 1960’s, Ferrari revealed its first mid-engine sports car. This inspired a series of iconic mid-engined road cars. A company famous for its beautiful and successful front-engined sports cars, soon became synonymous with its equally eye-catching and successful mid-engined sports cars. Ferrari’s first road-going mid-engined production sports car was the Dino 206 GT. Even more significant was the 308 GTB launched in 1975. It began an uninterrupted bloodline of V8-powered mid-engined sports cars that continues today. Cabin ergonomics were improved and the shape of the seats revised to better suit the sporty driving style this type of car deserved. This example This specific Ferrari 328 GTS was built in 1986 and delivered new in Italy. The car remained in Italy and was exported to The Netherlands in 2001. At that time the GTS only had 38.634km on clock. Service records are available from then on. In 2021 the car was acquired by VSOC for current Dutch owner, an important Ferrari collector. The car has been very well maintained and comes with the original leather wallet with instruction manual, a tool kit, invoices and ownership history since 2001. In February 2022, a major service was done at Dutch Ferrari Specialists Forza. The invoice totals Euro 20.900,-. Among others, the valves were adjusted, camshaft seals, fuel pump were replaced. New tires were fitted, the wiring was dismantled and reinstalled, a number of hoses in the cooling system were replaced, also under inlet dome, new clamps and spark plugs were installed. 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS Very Superior Old Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1979 Ferrari 312 T4
Every effort that Enzo Ferrari put into his eponymous marque was done to achieve one thing—win World Championships. Without Grand Prix racing, Ferrari’s existence would be hard to imagine, or at least certainly in the legendary form it is now. Equally, Formula 1 as a sport would be barely recognisable with its most famous team. Following Ferrari’s departure from the World Sportscar Championship in 1973, the Scuderia redoubled efforts on its Formula 1 programme, further developing the sonorous 3-litre 312-series of Grand Prix cars. Under the guidance of engineering genius Mauro Forghieri, the results of this strategy immediately reaped rewards with Niki Lauda acting as lead driver. With the introduction of the 312 T, with the T standing for trasversle for the radical transverse gearbox design, Ferrari now had a proper championship contender. During six years of competition with the 312 T, the Scuderia achieved four Constructors’ World Championships and three Drivers' World Championships, becoming one of Ferrari’s most successful designs in the company’s history. Lauda achieved his two World Championships with Ferrari in dominant fashion, only being denied a third Championship by James Hunt during the extraordinary 1976 season. With the departure of Lauda for 1978, the team went in search of a new leader and settled upon a driver whose natural speed and aggression had matured into the most potent force—Jody Scheckter. Scheckter had driven for top teams such as McLaren and Tyrrell, and finished 2nd in the 1977 World Championship for Wolf, so was perfectly experienced to take the pressure of the greatest seat in the sport. The 312 T4 is one of Scuderia Ferrari’s most important cars, being the team’s first full ground-effect car, an aerodynamic device that has dominated the sport ever since. The aerodynamic limitation for the Ferrari against its Ford-Cosworth DFV-powered competitors was the flat-12, which meant that floor did not feature wide venturis. The competitive edge for the Maranello team was the sheer power and reliability of the Tipo 015 312 engine, something teams like Williams, Lotus, and Ligier couldn’t compete with. After five rounds of the 1979 Formula 1 World Championship, Scheckter lay 4th in the championship behind joint-point-leaders Giles Villeneuve and Patrick Depailler, with Jacques Laffite closely behind. Scheckter had poor luck with Michelin’s new radial tyres—a collapsed side wall cost him an almost certain victory at Kyalami. For the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, Scheckter was allocated a new 312 T4, chassis number 040. The circuit was not entirely suited to the T4 but Scheckter’s luck changed. Qualifying 7th, Scheckter charged through the pack and was chasing down Lafitte in 2nd when Depailler crashed out from the lead. Clearly racing with controlled aggression, Scheckter made his overtake for the lead on Lafitte an inevitability, there was little the Frenchman could do. Once in the lead, Scheckter created a dominant 15-second gap back to the Frenchman’s Ligier by the fall of the chequered flag. Scheckter’s drive in chassis 040 marked a turning point in his championship, catapulting him and Ferrari into the championship lead. The Monaco Grand Prix has always been the jewel of the crown in the Formula 1 calendar—no race victory is more coveted by drivers. Scheckter had form around the streets of Monte Carlo having already collected three podiums and a victory against his name. Scheckter’s closed rival was his teammate, Villeneuve, who qualified only seven hundredths of a second behind him. The race weekend over 26 and 27 May was a masterclass from Scheckter and demonstrated why Enzo Ferrari had chosen him to lead his team. The race distance was a punishing 76 laps and mechanically sympathy would be key to finishing—something that the ferociously quick Villeneuve had less consideration for and contributed to his gearbox failure. In the words of Scheckter, ‘at Monaco I put everything into that car. Fierce opposite-lock and hammering over the kerbs earned me a 1 minute 26.45 second lap time and pole position for the race. I led from start to finish, which pushed Ferrari to a leading position in the Constructors’ rankings and took me closer to being Word Champion’. Scheckter and Ferrari established a clear championship lead that he would never lose. Apart from the British Grand Prix, every race Scheckter drove during the remainder of the season was in chassis 040, collecting a 2nd-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix. Perhaps this Ferrari’s greatest moment came at the Italian Grand Prix, held at Monza on 9 September. Monza is hallowed ground for the tifosi—the scene of many of Ferrari’s greatest moments. A win at Monza for any Ferrari driver must be euphoric and guarantees them a place in the upper echelons of the firm’s pilots. For the 1979 edition of the race, Scheckter went into it with a chance of securing the World Championship, a dream scenario for the South African. Monza is one of the most demanding circuits on a car due to its long periods of full-throttle and high-speed corners—Scheckter was well aware of this and knew what he had to do to put the championship out of reach. Positioned 3rd on the grid, at the drop of the flag he got a perfect start to get ahead of the two turbocharged Renaults. Arnoux slipstreamed Scheckter’s Ferrari on the 2nd lap with the help of his indecently powerful Renault to make the pass. The South African hung on, lap after lap until Arnoux had taken too much from his engine and Scheckter retook the lead. An imperious drive followed and Scheckter took the chequered flag. This victory marked an incredible moment of firsts and lasts. Scheckter had finally become Formula 1 World Champion in his first year at Ferrari, something which he had put everything on the line for, all the physical and financial risks from when he started racing in the tough environment of South Africa and then making his way through the several feeder series in Europe and America. At the same time, Ferrari won its sixth Constructors’ World Championship, which would be the only Championship that Giles Villeneuve would win. Monza marked the final victory of Scheckter’s career, and most importantly he become Enzo Ferrari’s last Drivers’ World Champion—a title the marque would not regain until the Michael Schumacher era. In the words of Scheckter, ‘Enzo was fantastic throughout. I recall being at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello. He was walking past, stopped, said, “Hello Champion” and walked off. That is all he ever said to me after winning the title for him.’ Today, championship-winning cars become immediately consigned to museums but 040 was prepared straight after Monza for the two North American Grands Prix of Canada and United States. A 4th place at Montreal was followed by an important moment at Watkins Glen for the United States Grand Prix. A troubled qualifying for Scheckter was compounded by him being spun off at the start. Clearly in a vengeful mood, Scheckter caught up the pack and then proceeded to scythe through it until he reached 3rd. With his position as champion secure, Scuderia Ferrari’s aim was to secure the runner-up spot in the championship for Villeneuve. With changeable conditions, Scheckter pitted to allow the team to correctly judge tyre strategy, something which paid dividends as Villeneuve took the win. Unfortunately, Scheckter suffered a puncture, ending his challenge for a podium finish, but he had helped his Canadian friend achieve his highest placing in Formula 1. Scheckter’s career at Ferrari continued into 1980 with the lacklustre 312 T5 before he decided to retire from the demanding and dangerous sport. Out of his whole career, Scheckter wished to own one car, 040, and it was earmarked by Ferrari for him. As shown by the original purchase invoice, which is on file, Scheckter took ownership on 8 November 1982 and had 040 shipped by Maranello Concessionaires back to the United Kingdom. Since 1982, this extraordinary Formula 1 car has remained in the stable of its champion. Demonstrated on several occasions, this Ferrari returned to Maranello for an engine rebuild prior to a demonstration at the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix. Throughout his ownership, it has always been treated with the care and attention required to maintain it in demonstration condition, with its last major outing being at the 2019 Italian Grand Prix. During that weekend, Scheckter was reunited with several of his old mechanics and his old friend Piero Ferrari, all to the delight of the adoring tifosi. Owing to this Ferrari not being raced since 1979, it remains extremely original to when it left the factory—extraordinarily it is one of only two examples to remain in T4 specification since the 1979 season with several other examples being modified to become T5s. Many parts are numbered with factory stampings such as the adjustable dampers. Once of the most apparent features are the original Arexons seatbelts, well-worn from the 1979 season and subsequent use. Importantly, this 312 T4 has never been driven by anyone other than Jody Scheckter. The opportunity to acquire this incredible Ferrari 312 T4 is unique and truly unrepeatable. It would be remarkable for a Grand Prix Ferrari of this era to be offered from single ownership since leaving the factory, and further to this chassis number 040 is the only Ferrari from the “Enzo era”, which remains in the care of its champion. Few Formula 1 cars can claim to be as original as chassis 040—combining this with its provenance makes Scheckter’s 312 one of the greatest Grand Prix cars in existence. Today, Jody Scheckter is Enzo Ferrari’s last living champion and this sale will remain singular in perpetuity. 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1969-maserati-ghibli-4700
The first Maserati Ghibli was unveiled in autumn 1966. It was a two-seater coupé with a fastback body designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Carrozzeria Ghia. At the end of 1968, the coupé was joined by a two-seater Spyder, and Pavesi also equipped a Ghibli coupé with a removable Targa-style roof. The body shells were mainly produced by Vignale. The car was powered by an eight-cylinder engine, the basic design of which was based on an engine that had made its racing debut in 1956 in the Tipo 450S and had been used in the Quattroporte I since 1964. The displacement was either 4.7 or 4.9 liters and the engine output ranged between 310 and 335 hp. The Tipo AM115 was produced until the end of 1973. Ghibli drivers included Jean-Paul Belmondo, Sammy Davis Junior, Henry Ford II and Peter Sellers, among others. Looking back, Giugiaro himself considers the Ghibli GT to be his best creation. This Maserati Ghibli with a 4.7-litre V8 was first registered in Italy in July 1969. The coupé was probably imported to the canton of Ticino in the 1980s, where it was owned by a garage owner for around 30 years before being taken over by the consignor in 2016. Shortly afterwards, the consignor had the interior and bodywork restored and repainted in ‘Rosso Fuoco’ from bare metal. In 2021/22, the matching-numbers engine, brakes and chassis were overhauled. Since then, the Maserati has only been driven around 4’500 km. The beautiful Ghibli is currently in very good condition and is only being sold due to lack of time. The last veteran MOT took place in July 2021. 1969 Maserati Ghibli 4700 Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider
Featured in Pepsi's commercial "The Chopper" featuring Michael Jackson Authenticated by director and former owner, Joe Pytka Believed to be only 1 of 2 examples painted in Nero (black) Believed to be 1 of only 12 Testarossa Spiders ever built by Straman 17,729 original miles Featured in September 1987 Car and Driver Magazine “TOP(less) SECRET TESTAROSSA” 4.9L flat 12 engine, 5-speed manual transmission Built by R. Straman Coachworks of Costa Mesa, CA in early 1987 Unveiled in 1984, the Ferrari Testarossa quickly captured the spotlight, becoming a symbol of the bold and extravagant decade it epitomized. Although subtle refinements were introduced throughout its production, the Testarossa’s avant-garde styling retained its sharpness—both in concept and execution—until its final year in 1996. Powered by a 4.9-liter Tipo F113A engine paired with a gated five-speed manual transmission, the car delivered a thrilling combination of driver engagement and a symphonic 12-cylinder roar. Its design struck a masterful balance, exuding both menace and grace, blending futuristic vision with timeless appeal. This 1986 Ferrari Testarossa headed towards a very different path than many of its other 12-cylinder siblings might have seen. While many might have been destined for the streets of Los Angeles or to be put away into a garage, this Nero Ferrari Testarossa had something much grander in store. Joe Pytka, celebrated director and first owner of this Testarossa, purchased the car to be featured in a commercial with a certain massively famous celebrity, but not before Richard Straman of R. Straman Coachworks finessed it. At this time the coachbuilder had made a name for high quality and exceptional automotive customization, and the Testarossa Spider project was no exception. Believed to have only made 12 examples, 2 of which were black, the final result was a unique and extremely iconic 80s design that to this day looks as if the Ferrari factory produced it. The roof was removed, structural elements were reinforced for safety and handling dynamics, and a custom soft top was fitted for those who might get caught out in inclement weather. This custom build cost? In period, an eye-watering $40,000 on top of a Ferrari Testarossa which was already close to $100,000 by itself. Once the conversion was completed, Joe Pytka prepared the Ferrari for its closeup. Prepared for a 4-part series of Pepsi commercials, Pytka insisted that the Ferrari Testarossa be used for “The Chase” segment, with a supercar matching the popularity and style of the celebrity driving it. This was not just any celebrity, but 1980s powerhouse singer, song writer, and dancer Michael Jackson. Featuring “The King of Pop” escaping from the paparazzi via helicopter, running down the street, and then jumping into his topless Testarossa to drive down an alleyway, the commercial was a smash hit and cemented this Testarossa into Hollywood stardom. Pytka ended up keeping the Testarossa until 2013, where he authenticated the title and confirmed that this Testarossa was the vehicle used in that specific commercial. In 2013 the car received a major service indicated by the documents accompanying the vehicle. The car was then acquired by a major collector, whose collection is a prime example of a wide spectrum of automotive interests and cultural significance. Vehicles used in movies and commercials are oftentimes dismantled, or are extensively modified in order to accommodate filming equipment, leaving a shell of a vehicle after the fact. In this instance, this Testarossa was modified for the exact purpose of creating the ultimate Michael Jackson commercial. Iconic, aggressive, and most importantly complete and authenticated, this 1986 Ferrari Testarossa sits among the few vehicles that Michael Jackson has graced during his stardom. Complete as 1 of possibly 12 examples ever built, 1 of 2 in the menacing Nero color, with only 17,729 original miles, you can own this piece of Italian 1980s history. 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
