This, impressive left-hand drive 1979 Escort RS1800 and its power unit were built by Kevin Davies Motorsport in 2022 to the ultimate FIA Group 4 ‘Tarmac’ rally spec and more recently it has been enhanced further with the addition of a Viking/Hollinger five-speed gearbox that has only done one event. It features Bilstein front and Reiger rear suspension, fully developed and sorted and the whole car was built to replicate a full period ‘Works’ specification. The result is a competitive, front running FIA Historic Escort, capable of competing in Europe at the very top level in its class or at any FIA or similar historic tarmac event today. It’s accompanied by FIA HTP papers valid until 31/12/2033, an International Competition Logbook, its UK V5C and a current MOT. Its first event was the Manx Rally at the end of 2022 in which it dominated, winning the class outright. Since then it has been used in a handful of high-profile tarmac events, including Rally Mallorca, Rally Sol de Ponent, Rally Costa Brava and Rally Legends San Marino (twice) where it has placed on the podium on several occasions and finished in every event it started. Being left-hand drive, it is particularly suitable for European events. Kevin Davies has personally looked after, maintained and run the car from new and is available to chat to any prospective buyer to confirm its history, condition and results. • 1979 Ferrari 512 BB LM Group 5

Boiling Point Pressure. Ultimately, that’s what led to the creation of the Ferrari’s legendary 512 BB/LM Group 5 sports-racing cars. You see, Il Commendatore was a notoriously stubborn man. And not always for the right reasons. While he initially saw no potential – and thus showed zero interest – in a competition variant of his marque’s flagship twelve-cylinder Berlinetta Boxer, his close friend and American concessionaire Luigi Chinetti did. Chinetti’s North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.) had enjoyed great success with Ferrari’s prototype and GT racing cars in the 1960s and ’70s. And unsurprisingly, Chinetti wielded great commercial influence in Maranello, thanks to the incredibly lucrative nature of his American market. It took N.A.R.T. to build its own radically reengineered Ferrari 365 GT4 BB racer and record impressive finishes at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans for Enzo to take note. Perhaps the elegant mid-engined supercar had the minerals after all. Sure enough, at the French endurance classic in the summer of 1978, Ferrari supplied three five-litre BB Competiziones, developed with input from the Formula 1 team’s chief engineer Mauro Forghieri. Among his more intriguing ideas was the aluminium rear wing, which actually began life as the front wing on the 312 T3 Grand Prix car. Ferrari could no longer resist the idea of a 512 with which to try and win the world’s greatest endurance races. Veiled in secrecy deep in the factory’s Assistenza Clienti department, ingegneri Giuseppe Girotti and Gaetano Florini were spearheading the development of a bona-fide competition version of the 512 BB, for the hotly-contested Group 5 ‘Special Production’ category. Unlike the three hastily-constructed cars it supplied for Le Mans in 1978, this second evolution – christened the BB/LM – was a thoroughly developed, no-corners-cut endurance racer. Lucas mechanical fuel injection, an enhanced cooling system, a strengthened gearbox and bespoke Gotti alloy wheels shod with Michelin TR-X rubber were just a handful of the modifications made. In addition, the suspension and braking systems were entirely overhauled, while both the front and rear tracks were widened. Ferrari drafted in Pininfarina, that age-old engineer of elegance with which it had worked so closely in the 1950s and ’60s, to hone the mid-engined supercar’s bodywork for Le Mans’ six-kilometre Mulsanne Straight. Extensive work was carried out in the Torinese carrozzeria’s Grugliasco wind tunnel, resulting in a sleeker wind-cheating and utterly beautiful ‘silhouette’ that Ferrari somewhat ambitiously reported it had clocked at 212mph in testing. Punchy. “Ferrari drafted in Pininfarina, that age-old engineer of elegance with which it had worked so closely in the 1950s and ’60s, to hone the mid-engined supercar’s bodywork for Le Mans.” On a frigid rainy morning in January of 1979, a plane touched down at John F. Kennedy Airport carrying three brand new Ferrari 512 BB/LMs – the first three of the nine second-generation cars built by the end of 1979. Their end destination? The Daytona 24 Hours. While one car was earmarked for Chinetti’s N.A.R.T. outfit, the other two were designated to the French Ferrari concessionaire Charles Pozzi. The 512 BB/LM we’re honoured to be offering, chassis number 26685, was the second of those two cars. Michelin, whose fancy new radial tyres were fitted to the BB/LMs, took the opportunity to hire the Daytona circuit a full week before the race, granting the Pozzi team invaluable testing time with its new Ferraris. Entered into the top-flight IMSA GTX category, this car was assigned the number 67 and earmarked for French drivers Claude Ballot-Léna and Michel Leclère. And come qualifying, chassis 26685 was the quickest of the three 512s, lapping the famous banked racetrack in 1min57.3sec. Alas, the race was a less straightforward affair. Unusually high tyre wear on the sister Pozzi car of Jean-Claude Andruet prompted an early pit-stop around 90 minutes in to the 24-hour marathon. And when N.A.R.T.’s entry suffered a scary high-speed blowout exiting the banking, resulting in an accident and subsequent retirement, both Michelin and the Pozzi bosses rightly decided to err on the side of caution and withdraw both its entries after just four hours. Until then, chassis 26685 was running in an excellent seventh position. What could have been… Next up for this Ferrari was the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, not only the jewel in endurance racing’s crown but the Pozzi outfit’s home race. In preparation, the French team had conducted a 24-hour test at Le Castellet with both of its BB/LMs – a test which, by all accounts, was a resounding success. The stage was set. Ahead of the main event, Pozzi commissioned the French artist Jean Fougerol to refinish its brace of 512s in a fabulous hand-painted Pop Art-inspired livery depicting powder-blue clouds and white birds. The two BB/LMs differed only in their numbers and their title sponsors – this car was assigned the number 63 and adorned with the logos of 3M. The driver line-up for chassis 26685 remained the same as it did earlier in the year at Daytona: Claude Ballot-Léna and Michel Leclère. It was the latter who, at the close of qualifying, once again recorded the quickest lap of the four BB/LMs entered: a smidgen over the four-minute mark. Alas, it was also Leclère who, having clawed his way into the top 10 after an impressive drive through the night, agonisingly retired at eight o’clock in the morning after a sudden downpour and subsequent contretemps with a slower car. This Ferrari’s third and final competitive outing came 12 months later at the very same event: the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time around, Pozzi fielded three BB/LMs, all finished in the striking blue and yellow colour scheme of the European University in Belgium. Chassis 26685 ran with the number 75 and was due to be driven by Lucien Guitteny and Gérard Bleynie. Once again, however, bad luck plagued this Ferrari and an accident forced retirement in the seventh hour. The sister car of Jean Xhenceval, Pierre Dieudonné and Hervé Regout clinched a well-deserved class podium for the French outfit. The car was returned to Ferrari to be repaired and, with the factory’s blessing, sent to Pininfarina to be rebodied in the more aerodynamically advanced second-evolution bodywork, in which the last 16 BB/LMs were dressed. Its competitive duties complete, chassis 26685 was sold to Prince Pierre Sanguszko – a prominent member of the Polish aristocracy who was a close friend of the Pozzi boss Daniel Merin. In his castle in Senlis, France, this Ferrari lived happily alongside a number of incredibly special motorcars, including the Iso Grifo A3/C famously once owned by the French rock ‘n’ roll legend Johnny Hallyday. Sanguszko passed away in 1992 and this BB/LM passed through the hands of a small number of French owners before it was acquired by the well-known British Ferrari collector Nigel Chiltern-Hunt just before the New Millennium. Chiltern-Hunt commissioned a ground-up restoration, including the reapplication of its iconic Jean Fougerol livery. Upon completion, chassis 26685 was returned to the racetrack at the 2001 Historic Festival at Rockingham. It made several further outings at Ferrari Owners’ Club UK Concours meetings until 2010, when it was acquired by Jacques Bajol and returned to France. It’s important to note that by this point, this BB/LM had been submitted for and received its full red-book Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming the originality of the chassis, engine and gearbox, in addition to the provenance “This BB/LM received its full red-book Ferrari Classiche certification in 2008, confirming the originality of the chassis, engine and gearbox, in addition to the provenance.” In what was an especially memorable occasion, at the 2012 Le Mans Classic, chassis 26685 was returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe for the first time since it competed there in 1980 and reunited with its sister Pozzi car, chassis number 26681, famously finished in the same Jean Fougerol ‘clouds’ livery. This 512 BB/LM’s was acquired by its penultimate owner, a Swiss collector and historic racing driver, in 2019. As a friend of Claude Ballot-Lena, he’d long been hunting for a car raced by the Frenchman in period. This Ferrari more than fitted the bill. With a view to returning the Ferrari to the racetrack for the first time in 40 years, while preserving its incredible originality, he commissioned Tommaso Gelmini’s renowned GPS Classics outfit in Italy to prepare the car to modern historic racing safety standards. The Historic Technical Passport was acquired in 2019, and remains valid until 2029. Pleasingly, the owner capitalised on the extraordinary eligibility of this Ferrari, entering it in a plethora of historic motorsport meetings – including Peter Auto’s Historic events at Monza, Vallelunga and Paul Ricard, and, in the summer of 2022, the Le Mans Classic. An enticing thought for the next custodian is that there are still many events at which this 512 BB/LM would be welcomed with open arms. Personally, we’re not sure we’d be able to resist returning it to the hallowed banking of the Daytona International Speedway, where chassis 26685 first turned a wheel in anger, for the popular HSR Classic Daytona meeting. To truly appreciate the historical significance of the 512 BB/LM, it’s important to frame it in the context of the Prancing Horse’s competition history – more specifically the trajectory it followed in the decades after this car hung up its figurative boots. You see, every Ferrari entry at Le Mans since then – immortal machines such as the F40 LM, 333 SP, 550 Maranello, F430 GTC and 488 GTE – has been built by a third party with the factory’s blessing. That makes the 25 BB/LMs which left Ferrari’s Assistenza Clienti department the marque’s final in-house-built sports-racing cars to have raced in the world’s greatest endurance competition. The third example built, chassis number 26685 distinguishes itself further in a number of significant ways. • 1973 De Tomaso Pantera

The De Tomaso Pantera offered here was delivered in the USA at the beginning of 1973 and later exported to Italy, where it was bought by the last owner over 20 years ago and imported to Switzerland. The car has always been cared for and professionally serviced and maintained regardless of cost. In the last 2 years alone, over CHF 45,000 has been invested, including the complete underbody being ice-blasted, tectyl-coated and cavity-sealed, and the cooling system, front and rear axles and drive shafts overhauled. This beautiful De Tomaso Pantera is veteran-approved and in top condition. After initially designing racing cars for Formula 1, the Modena-based company Automobili De Tomaso began producing road sports cars in the mid-1960s. The Vallelunga, produced in 55 units in 1963, was followed three years later by the Mangusta, De Tomaso’s first sports car, which was equipped with a large American eight-cylinder engine from Ford. The Pantera was then an improved version of its predecessor, the Mangusta, in many respects. Gian Paolo Dallara developed the chassis, in which the weight was better distributed than in the Mangusta. Furthermore, instead of the 289/302 engines (4.7/4.9 l) of the Mangusta, the 351 Cleveland (5.7 l) with four-barrel carburetor – 4V, derived from racing, was now fitted. Unlike many other sports cars of its time, the Pantera had a simple but stable self-supporting body, the design and details of which were the work of Tom Tjaarda, who was head of design at Carrozzeria Ghia at the time. 1973 De Tomaso Pantera Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. A Stunningly Restored Example of the Series I 1900, Arguably the Most Beautiful and Finely Detailed of the Touring Bodied 1900s. In 1950 when Alfa Romeo launched their all-new unit bodied 1900 series, unprecedented demand for the innovative and stylish car immediately propelled Alfa Romeo into larger more profitable markets. The 1900 platform was versatile and technically sophisticated. Many of the finest Italian coachbuilders were immediately consulted to design and construct bodies for the 1900. This important move allowed a key transition from traditional body on frame coachbuilding, ultimately extending the viability of coachbuilt artistry as the auto industry evolved. The resultant range of stunning special body configurations made the 1900 one of the leading platforms among European coachbuilders of the 1950’s. Among the most desirable and arguable the most elegant of the coachbuilt 1900s is the Touring bodied 1900C. Touring Carrozeria’s patented Superleggera (super lightweight) construction employed specifically on the 1900, utilized a formed steel sub-frame, cleverly enveloped by a lightweight aluminum skin. In the Touring design, the classically inspired coupe utilized a clean and fluid lower body accented only by crisp raised character lines exquisitely formed into the alloy body. The delicately constructed upper body was only lightly garnished by trim and beautifully proportioned glass. This simple elegance had an even sportier touch when offered in the shorter 2,500mm wheelbase, as the 1900C Sprint. The Sprints performed exceptionally well in competition, delivering multiple wins in competition throughout the world. This lovely Touring Superleggera Coupe is from the first-series of production, which was manufactured from 1951 to 1953 by Carrozzeria Touring. Among the evolution of this series, the most desirable is the earliest of the four sequenced body designs due to the low roof, smaller rear window, fluid canopy design, recessed door handles, and prettier grille brows, all of which embody the finest of the original design details and handmade alloy coachwork. This particular car was completed in early 1952 and is known to have spent time in Italy and later in Germany. A Dutch Alfa Romeo collector is also reported to have owned the car for more than 20 years before selling it to Paolo Stallone, an Italian living in South Germany. The current owner purchased the car from Stallone in 2012. After his purchase, the current owner reviewed the condition of the car and decided to embark on a complete restoration. The car was placed in the care of experts at Laboratorio Lopane in Italy who are renown throughout the world for Alfa Romeo restorations, particularly for their specialization in alloy body panels. During this time, it was revealed that a steel nose had been constructed for the front of the car. The decision was made to then strip the car completely, and fit a new alloy nose to the body using original Touring specifications. At the same time, the body was placed on a rotisserie fixture allowing for comprehensive alloy work, metal work as needed, and careful restoration of the original body. As work grew, it became clear that a total restoration was the only proper way to honor such an important car. Four years later, the car emerged from restoration including a beautifully finished interior from Maili in Milano, with mechanical and electrical work performed by Metzemacher of Koln, Germany. Restoration work was documented with detailed photos and invoices. Approximately $200,000 was spent on the restoration with the goal of achieving not only a high quality finish, but also a cohesive and elegant presentation that properly represents the refined craftsmanship and elegant design of the original. Today, this elegant Alfa Romeo 1900C presents in superb condition, with beautifully finished deep red paint, applied with consistent coverage and excellent final polish. The lustrous and deep color reveals the signature Touring crisp wheel opening lines, rocker scallop, and taut upper canopy with rich glints of reflective elegance. This is perfectly offset by a masculine and purposeful stance courtesy of Borrani wide alloy wire wheels, which wear Pirelli Cinturato tires and are accented by chrome-plated dual-ear knock-offs handsomely scripted with the Alfa Romeo name. The wire wheels encase full-diameter alloy drum brake castings, giving the car a competition flavor, befitting the Sprint designation. The minimal chrome trim surrounding the Carello headlamps is perfectly formed and polished, while the glass accessory lights, and teardrop door handles are beautifully fit to the body. Even the proper spiral-metal rear glass gasket recesses elegantly into the rubber surround, nearly vanishing against the deep red body color. The Touring Superleggera coachwork badges, Alfa Romeo emblems, and supporting grille and side vent trim are exceptional pieces of automotive jewelry, accenting perfectly the darker body color. Often presented without bumpers to spoil the stunning elegance of the Touring design, this car is no exception, and is all the more elegant with its clean and unadulterated form. Every element of this car has been wonderfully composed with beautiful finishes and exceptional detailing evident from every view. The remarkable two-tone interior is simply breathtaking, presented in contrasting tan leather with beige cloth inserts, the softer materials across the hinged bench seats create a comforting feel, while the body colored dash and full instrumentation convey the sporting spirit. The dashboard and accompanying instruments are beautifully restored and wonderfully laid out displaying gorgeous Italian flair in design, accented by the polished aluminum and lacquered wood Nardi steering wheel. The instruments are clear, beautifully colored, and surrounded by crisp polished trim surrounding both the large and small faces with excellent visual results. Further details throughout the interior include a Touring Coachbuilders emblem embossed on the driver’s side rubber floor mat, beautifully detailed interior door handles and window cranks, and elegant wool broadcloth headliner. Overall, the interior exhibits the same excellence and attention to craftsmanship of the exterior. The engine compartment has also been comprehensively restored using correct factory finishes, correct hardware and fasteners, and proper wiring, all of which are brought together with mechanical refinement and aesthetic harmony. The textured black castings are uniformly finished with attention to detail and authenticity in every respect. The engine compartment is trimmed with engine turned aluminum, set off by the twin Solex carburetors and short flared polished intake trumpets. Proper textured finishes and correct details also support the mechanical sorting that has been done since the restoration was completed. The trunk is finished with an alloy Borrani spare wheel and Michelin tire nestled into the formed tub, while the floor is covered with a correct fluted form-fitting rubber mat. The underside of the car has been restored with the same attention to detail and authenticity afforded to the exterior. Finishes are properly executed yet not taken to the level of fussiness that would restrain one from enjoyably using the car. The floor is structurally sound, properly finished, and representative of proper restoration performed by expert practitioners with reverence toward authenticity and artistry. On the road, this 1900C Sprint delivers a delightful driving experience. Originally designed for touring, the 1900 was remarkably well balanced for a wide range of rural and urban roads, which still holds true today. The exceptional restoration performed on this car delivers not only enjoyable spirited Italian performance, further enhanced by the added horsepower of the twin-carb Sprint option, but also exemplary coachbuilt beauty and elegance. The column shift gearbox is a wonderful invitation to vintage sojourns, turning even casual drives into engaging journeys to the past. Of particular note is the ease and joy of the roomy interior, the engaging twin cam engine sounds, and the stability of highway cruising. Driver and passenger are comfortable and can engage in conversation, while easily accessing any stowed items in the rear bench area. For vintage touring and contemporary driving, the 1900C combines a satisfying balance of charm and performance in a vintage car. Accompanying the car are multiple restoration documents and extensive photos documenting the restoration. This Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint represents a rare opportunity to acquire beautifully restored early Touring coachbuilt Alfa Romeo with astonishingly fresh presentation and enjoyable road manners. The combination of elegance and sportiness, coupled with the remarkable interior makes this 1900 both a wonderful event or show car for many major automotive venues throughout the world. For those who admire hand built alloy coachwork, top level restoration, state of the art engineering, and composed motoring, this Alfa Romeo 1900C truly delivers the unmistakable combination of exceptional motoring and Italian design. 1952 Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint Touring Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. This V8 Vantage Zagato was supplied on the 21st November 1986 to Mr G. Strok, Esq., Weybridge, by H.W.M Ltd, of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. This rare grand-tourer was delivered in Lightning Silver coachwork with Burgundy Connolly leather trim and Black Alcantara Headlining One of just 50 coupe examples built during the model’s four-year production run, this British GT was extravagantly styled by the famed Italian coachbuilder ‘Carrozzeria Zagato’. This very car featured in a 4-page review in Motorsport Magazine in September 1987 (original copy on file), the author concluded ‘Sensational, yes, but also composed; brutish but obedient, razor sharp without being difficult to control’ Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V8, delivering 430bhp to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, our car rides on a brand new set of “new style” Ronal wheels shod with new Michelin tyres. This stunning example was later exported to Hong Kong in 1995 and repatriated to the UK in 2004, owned throughout that period by a noted Asian collector In 2017, nearly £10,000 was spent with Aston Martin specialist Nicholas Mee & Co on extensive servicing and improvements including the installation of a Harvey Bailey handling kit comprising a revised front anti-roll bar, front shock absorbers and new coil springs front and rear. A Bluetooth-compatible Alpine stereo was also fitted at this stage. In 2018, Aston Martin Works replaced the front brake discs and performed additional maintenance at a cost of over £2,000 The Zagato has just returned from marque specialists Quantum Works in December 2023 having been fully serviced and thoroughly gone through, now ready for immediate use by its future and lucky owner Accompanied by an extensive history file containing maintenance invoices, historic MOT test certificates and old Motor Vehicle Licences from the car’s time in Hong Kong, this car passed an advisory free MOT on 8th November 2023 and is offered for sale in superb condition. • 1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Club Sport

The Porsche 924 was initially developed between Volkswagen and Porsche to replace the victorious 912 and 914. The 924 would become the new level entry car for Porsche. It was designed using a front engine and rear wheel drive layout, making it Porsche's first road-going front engine production configuration. The 924 was revealed in November of 1975, featuring a 4-cylinder normally aspirated engine. Three years later, a turbocharged version was introduced to the market, and it was an instant hit around the world. In 1981, Porsche decided to enter Group 4 racing utilizing the 924 production model. The 924 Carrera GTS variant would be 330 pounds lighter, with a lowered suspension and feature an upgraded engine producing 210 HP, the first step into making the 924 a true race car. Following this, Porsche took another step by creating 50 street legal samples named the Carrera GTS. The car featured fixed headlights, slightly wider wheel arches, and a lightweight hood held in place with hood pins. 3 of these examples competed at the 1981 24 hours of Le Mans and finished in an amazing 6th, 12th, and 13th overall. With this successful recipe, Porsche created 15 examples of the Carrera GTS Club Sport, featuring a larger 2.0L 270HP engine and additional oil coolers, making it one of the fastest production cars Porsche had ever built at the time. This example was hand-built and completed on 11 February 1981 at the Weissach facility, then shipped to Bob Hagestad Porsche-Audi in Denver, Colorado. It was sold to its first owner, Dr. William Jackson, an ophthalmologist and well-known Porsche collector from Pine Cliff, Colorado, on 23 July 1982. Known for his discerning eye and exceptional taste, Dr. Jackson was one of the first American collectors to appreciate the significance of early Porsche racing cars. At its height, Dr. Jackson’s collection included some of the most important examples of the marque, from four-cam Spyders and rear-engine prototypes to significant Turbo era 911s. After 24 years in his personal collection, Dr. Jackson sold the Carrera GTS to John Dixon at the Taj Ma Garaj in Dayton, Ohio in August 2005. The vehicle was subsequently purchased out of that collection in 2019 and entered the respected care of Garage 26. Recently serviced in 2021, the car received new engine belts, engine oil, spark plugs, etc. Upon arriving at Canepa, every vehicle is treated to the "Canepa Difference." This includes a complete mechanical inspection, services as needed, and ultimately road tested by Bruce Canepa. A concours level detail is part of the Canepa Difference, with everything cleaned and detailed to a show level finish—underbody/chassis, suspension, exterior finishes, trim, etc. The front engine compartment, trunk, as well as the interior are also cleaned, ensuring that the Carrera GTS is presented as though it had just rolled onto the showroom floor. With the remaining step being the exterior, the finish is polished and waxed to "as new" finish. This rare and very desirable 924 Carrera GTS “Club Sport” is supplied with a tool kit, spare wheel, jack, factory literature, dealer correspondence, COA, and a file of service receipts. With its incredibly low mileage, this truly rare and exciting Porsche collectible is not to be overlooked. 1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Club Sport Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1977 Jaguar XJC

Where the E-type stood for pace, the XK for grace, the XJ stood for space. A wonderfully spacious tourer packed with class, the Jaguar flagship where they loved to show off all their gadgets and new gizmos. The fastest four-seater in the world when the car first rolled off the assembly line. The car was rarely delivered as a coupe anyway, which now makes this a real collector’s item. Anyway, enough about investment and performance, let’s talk about what lasting impression this car leaves behind. After all, a Jaguar driver also knows that you have to drive this car with respect. That means spinning the sports hangover of yesteryear quietly, not roaring. It is sometimes said in the car world, the car looks like its owner. However, this tomcat also knows how to take the owner with her grandeur. Indeed, when you get in, you immediately get the feeling that you know about opera, wine, politics and poetry. Ours? Dutch delivered! A 6-cylinder which in terms of consumption and weight ratio feels a little more favorable than the 12-cylinder and can still insert well. Just completely serviced at Kroymans and fully matching. That’s a nice start, right? 1977 Jaguar XJC JamesEdition B.V. If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1970 De Tomaso Mangusta

The Mangusta was produced by De Tomaso from 1967 to 1971 and despite close links to the Ford Motor Company and access to mass production facilities, only 401 examples left the production line in Modena. It was De Tomaso’s first proper foray into the world of high-performance cars and one of the world’s first supercars, boasting in excess of 300 brake horsepower, a top speed pushing the other side of 250 km/h, and coachwork by none other than Bertone and later Ghia’s Giorgetto Giugiaro, including the gullwing engine cover that had been intended for Giotto Bizzarrini. Styled by Giugiaro, the De Tomaso is the epitome of late-1960s design: a low-slung wedge boasting a quad-headlamp nose, vast haunches, and a tail peppered with slots and vents. The crowning glory is aluminium rear bodywork that hinges up—gullwing-style—to reveal the American-made power unit. This attractive Mangusta is a European-specification example reportedly delivered new to Italy on New Year’s Eve in 1970 with the desirable quad-headlamp nose arrangement. It has resided in Barcelona with the consignor for nearly a decade, and at time of his purchase this Mangusta reportedly wore the factory shade of Avorio Safari. Under the consignor’s purview, the car has been comprehensively restored to the current color combination of Rosso Corsa over black leather, and tastefully modified to suit his discerning penchant for increased performance and safety. As such, this Mangusta is currently powered by an upgraded Hi-Po Ford V-8 engine which is fed by a quarter of Weber carburettors and mated to a correct-type five-speed ZF transaxle. Cosmetically, the car’s aggressive visage is enhanced by a pair of Vitaloni side mirrors, and staggered centre-lock Campagnolo alloy wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber. The interior is highlighted by an air conditioning system, AM/FM radio, power windows, and a leather-wrapped De Tomaso-Ferrero steering wheel, which fronts the full suite of correct Veglia Borletti instrumentation which proudly features the De Tomaso logo. Furthermore, a competition-spec fire extinguisher system has been integrated as an additional safety measure. The free-breathing custom exhaust system does nothing to diminish the Mangusta’s throaty bark, while a modern Brembo braking system with Wilwood lines, is set to work in-tandem with custom suspension for optimal handling dynamics during spirited drives. 1970 De Tomaso Mangusta RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
