    For collectors today, there is very little to dislike about the Ferrari 365 GTC/4 today. The imposing and curvaceous coachwork retained Pininfarina’s characteristic elegance and softness of line, despite the stringent North American regulations surrounding impact protection. Not only is the spacious interior an exercise in ergonomics, but the air-conditioning is positively arctic and, of course, there’s ample space for four people (the benefit of moving the gearbox from the rear of the car to just aft the engine). Beneath the bonnet is the commanding 4.4-litre four-cam V12 we came to know and love in the ‘Daytona’, just with more torque thanks to revised valve timing. And more torque is never a bad thing. Power steering as standard takes the sting out of long journeys – especially those which encompass city stops and don’t avoid them. And the 365 GTC/4 is a seriously rare car: only around 500 ever left Maranello, of which only 31 were in right-hand drive for the British market. Best of all? The value – especially compared to both its spiritual and actual predecessors: the GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ and the 365 GTC. Chassis no. 16153 On 20 June 1972, the Ferrari factory in Maranello received a telex from Maranello Concessionaires in London confirming the order of a new right-hand-drive 365 GTC/4. The car in question was this, chassis number 16153, which boasts a quite remarkable story and which, as a result, we’re delighted to be offering. Later that year, on 9 October, a Mr. R Wilcox from Buckinghamshire took delivery of this Ferrari, parting with £8,956 for the pleasure. He opted for a particularly elegant colour combination for the handsome Gran Turismo: Rosso Nearco, a luxurious deep subtly-metallic shade of red, over black leather and red carpets. As its accompanying ultra-rare factory warranty card attests, Mr. Wilcox returned chassis 16153 to Maranello Concessionaires to be serviced thrice in his first year of ownership, during which he covered just over 9,000 miles. Between Mr. Wilcox and one subsequent owner, a further 21,000 miles – including a trip to Maranello – were added to this Ferrari’s odometer reading before 1985, when it was acquired by one Mr. J W M Miller from Uxbridge. Mr. Miller took the decision to take this 365 GTC/4 off the road. Remarkably, as the plethora of accompanying invoices illustrate, what followed for chassis 16153 were 33 years of careful storage and maintenance. This Ferrari was only woken from its slumber in 2018, when it was subjected to a major service (including replacement of the self-level shock absorbers), issued an MOT certificate (the mileage was noted as 30,836 miles) and bought by its current owner. In the years since then, chassis 16153 has been serviced, had its Borrani wire wheels refurbished and been professionally detailed. The odometer currently reads 31,524 miles. Given the care that has been bestowed upon it by its mere four owners and, of course, the three decades it spent being carefully stored, this Ferrari 365 GTC/4 presents in beautifully original condition – it pervades that distinctly satisfying feeling from behind the wheel that only an old car that has never been restored offers up. Crucially, chassis 16153 retains all its original factory paraphernalia, including its leather documents pouch with manuals and the aforementioned warranty card, its tool kit, jack and even its ultra-rare first-aid kit. Citing a lack of commercial interest, Ferrari abandoned its V12 2+2 concept after the 365 GTC/4, waiting two decades before finally introducing a successor in the 456 GT – a Gran Turismo whose Pininfarina lines do certainly echo those of this car.   • 1956 Porsche 356 A Carrera 1500 GS Speedster by Reutter

    So much of Porsche’s success in the USA can be attributed to one person: Max Hoffman. A wartime immigrant born in Austria, he eventually settled in New York. The money earned from making costume jewellery enabled him to fund his first passion, which was cars. He duly began importing Europe’s finest across the Atlantic before falling in love with the 356, the diminutive new sports car from Porsche. But Hoffman felt that for the model to really take off in America, the marque needed to build a paired-back, more competitively priced version. Accordingly, in 1954, the open-top Speedster was born. The by-product of this simplicity was low weight, with the model 160 kilograms lighter than its Coupé sister model. That only enhanced the handling, prompting the Speedster to become a smash hit on circuit. Formula 1 race winner and 24 Hours of Le Mans victor, Dan Gurney, plus Hollywood actor and spare-time racer, James Dean, were among the most famous to hit the track. Further helping the model’s performance credentials, a road-tuned version of the four-cam engine found in the giant-killing 550 Spyder thorough-bred race car was then slotted into the 356. In deference to a 1-2 finish in class for the 550 on the 1954 running of the Carrera Panamericana endurance road race, these models carried the “Carrera” name. Fittingly, given the Speedster configuration of this left-hand-drive 1500 GS (standing for “Grand Sport”) example, chassis 82189 was originally delivered to New York via Hoffman’s renowned dealership in August 1956, as confirmed by a copy of the original Kardex sheet. According to the records of Karrosserie Reutter, this car was finished by the factory in white over black interior trim, with a matching black soft top. During its time stateside, this Speedster was enjoyed for its rev-happy 1.5-litre engine making 101 brake horsepower as it reportedly competed at some of the country’s most celebrated circuits, contesting events at Sebring International Raceway, on the Daytona banking, and at Riverside. Come 1992, the car was imported to Germany before being bought by Mr Hans Reuter in November of the following year. He commissioned a complete restoration, with chassis 82189 critically retaining its original Type 547/1 engine—a highly desirable and rare distinction given many were either pre-emptively or reactively replaced due to the fragile nature of the motorsport-derived Carrera unit. The car was, at some point, changed to red over a tan interior. While chassis 82189 is listed as a GS, it boasts some specifications that bridge the gap to the more performance-orientated GT (“Grand Touring”) model, the configuration believed to be original. It was completed without a heater, boasts the correct tachometer that counts all the way up to 8,000 rpm, and features a coveted Weber fuel-pressure regulator. Understood to have been brought to the UK in the late 1990s, this car has since been subjected to a bare metal respray to return chassis 82189 to its original white hue, while the interior was retrimmed to its current red finish. This example has also been fitted with a set of rare Rudge wheels. Bought in May 2014 by its consigning owner, a collector of significant road and race cars, this Speedster comes with a spare Rudge wheel fitted in the boot, the accompanying wheel nut spanner, plus a tool kit. It is also complemented by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Porsche Cars North America. In May 2022, the Speedster was treated to thorough maintenance by marque specialist Maxted-Page. Most notably, an engine-out service was completed, while the brakes and suspension were recommissioned, plus the fuel system was overhauled before the car was submitted for an MoT. The accompanying invoice (available to view on file) totals £15,191. It is thought that only 75 GS Carrera Speedsters were built between 1954 and 1958. This example is made all the more exclusive by virtue of retaining its original, Solex carburettor-fed, side-oil engine. A wartime immigrant born in Austria, he eventually settled in New York. The money earned from making costume jewellery enabled him to fund his first passion, which was cars. He duly began importing Europe’s finest across the Atlantic before falling in love with the 356, the diminutive new sports car from Porsche. But Hoffman felt that for the model to really take off in America, the marque needed to build a paired-back, more competitively priced version. Accordingly, in 1954, the open-top Speedster was born. The by-product of this simplicity was low weight, with the model 160 kilograms lighter than its Coupé sister model. That only enhanced the handling, prompting the Speedster to become a smash hit on circuit. Formula 1 race winner and 24 Hours of Le Mans victor, Dan Gurney, plus Hollywood actor and spare-time racer, James Dean, were among the most famous to hit the track. Further helping the model’s performance credentials, a road-tuned version of the four-cam engine found in the giant-killing 550 Spyder thorough-bred race car was then slotted into the 356. In deference to a 1-2 finish in class for the 550 on the 1954 running of the Carrera Panamericana endurance road race, these models carried the “Carrera” name. Fittingly, given the Speedster configuration of this left-hand-drive 1500 GS (standing for “Grand Sport”) example, chassis 82189 was originally delivered to New York via Hoffman’s renowned dealership in August 1956, as confirmed by a copy of the original Kardex sheet. According to the records of Karrosserie Reutter, this car was finished by the factory in white over black interior trim, with a matching black soft top. During its time stateside, this Speedster was enjoyed for its rev-happy 1.5-litre engine making 101 brake horsepower as it reportedly competed at some of the country’s most celebrated circuits, contesting events at Sebring International Raceway, on the Daytona banking, and at Riverside. Come 1992, the car was imported to Germany before being bought by Mr Hans Reuter in November of the following year. He commissioned a complete restoration, with chassis 82189 critically retaining its original Type 547/1 engine—a highly desirable and rare distinction given many were either pre-emptively or reactively replaced due to the fragile nature of the motorsport-derived Carrera unit. The car was, at some point, changed to red over a tan interior. While chassis 82189 is listed as a GS, it boasts some specifications that bridge the gap to the more performance-orientated GT (“Grand Touring”) model, the configuration believed to be original. It was completed without a heater, boasts the correct tachometer that counts all the way up to 8,000 rpm, and features a coveted Weber fuel-pressure regulator. Understood to have been brought to the UK in the late 1990s, this car has since been subjected to a bare metal respray to return chassis 82189 to its original white hue, while the interior was retrimmed to its current red finish. This example has also been fitted with a set of rare Rudge wheels. Bought in May 2014 by its consigning owner, a collector of significant road and race cars, this Speedster comes with a spare Rudge wheel fitted in the boot, the accompanying wheel nut spanner, plus a tool kit. It is also complemented by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Porsche Cars North America. In May 2022, the Speedster was treated to thorough maintenance by marque specialist Maxted-Page. Most notably, an engine-out service was completed, while the brakes and suspension were recommissioned, plus the fuel system was overhauled before the car was submitted for an MoT. The accompanying invoice (available to view on file) totals £15,191. It is thought that only 75 GS Carrera Speedsters were built between 1954 and 1958. This example is made all the more exclusive by virtue of retaining its original, Solex carburettor-fed, side-oil engine. Finished in Black Pearl with a Fawn interior, it was first registered on 29 December and dispatched to dealer Cyril Williams of Wolverhampton. It’s thought that its intended first owner – A Jackson & Son Ltd of Birmingham – never took delivery, and instead it was bought by George Styles on 3 March 1965. The DB5’s history file includes an unbroken record of ownership from then all the way up to the present day. Mr Styles kept the car until November 1986, when it passed to Paradise Garage in London. It was then bought by Mark Longe in 1991, and he sold it the following year via RS Williams to Howard Giles. Giles took the DB5 back to Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell so that it could be fully assessed, and he decided to embark on a complete restoration. The process took nearly two years, with Aston Martin being entrusted with the bodywork and interior, while RS Williams took care of most of the mechanical work. Giles sold the DB5 in June 1999, and after being cared for by two further owners, it passed to a new custodian in October 2014. With 20 years having passed since the restoration, he commissioned marque specialist Oselli to carry out a further full restoration such were the demands of the meticulous owner. This was thoroughly documented – including photographs – in the history file and resulted in stripping the Aston Martin down to nothing more than a shell. A full bare metal repaint in original colour scheme was carried out, the interior was completely re-trimmed, and all other mechanical components and electrical items on the car were rebuilt as new at a cost of just over £400,000.     This Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Coupé is a race-prepared, FIA-compliant example of the iconic classic British sports coupé that’s enjoyed success at the Silverstone Classic, the Donington Historic Festival and Equipe Classic Racing meets at Oulton Park and Snetterton. Its first outing, after being rebuilt five years ago, was the 60th Anniversary E-Type Challenge at the Silverstone Classic in 2021, when it finished a very impressive second in monsoon conditions driven by Danny Winstanley. At that time, it was still fitted with a 317bhp straight-port, steel-block engine but the car is now powered by a dry-sump, all-alloy 3.8-litre Crosthwaite and Gardiner wide-angle straight-six, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 'EJ' 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.77:1 limited-slip differential. The car is classically finished in Old English White with contrasting red and blue racing stripes and sits on 15" magnesium wheels with 3-spoke knock-offs, wrapped in Dunlop Racing tyres. Equipment includes a differential cooler, uprated driveshafts, an alloy radiator and header tank, oil cooler, uprated anti-roll bars, lightweight brake callipers, lightweight plastic windows, front and rear tow hooks, full cage, Tillett bucket seat (2026), Lifeline harness, OMP fire extinguisher system, 3-spoke Sparco steering wheel and a heated windscreen. The FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP) is valid until 31 December 2029. In preparation for the 2024 season, the car was fitted with a new 100-litre foam-filled baffled alloy fuel tank, new fuel lines, a replacement propshaft and clutch, re-valved Koni dampers, new front brake pads and MSD ignition. The fire extinguisher was also serviced, the suspension arms and nuts/bolts were zinc-plated and the underside and engine bay were resprayed, including powder-coating the engine frames. In November 2024, the engine was refreshed with new bearings, valve springs, crankshaft damper, clutch, oil, and filters. The Jaguar is road-registered (BRU 387A) and could be driven to events, sprints, hill climbs etc. (on road tyres) and even used on road-rallies but its prime function is as a very competitive racer. The most recent MOT test was on 15 March 2021 at an indicated 75,058 miles, which was a first time pass. In addition to the aforementioned FIA/HTP, the car is accompanied by its V5C, old MOTs, set up notes, invoices etc. and a collection of spare parts, as listed below.     Originally the property of legendary BMC 'Works' rally driver, Don Morley, this UK-supplied, RHD, Quattro WR has remained on the family farm for 39-years and is on offer at No Reserve. Don Morley rose to fame in the rapidly growing sport of international rallying during the late 1950s, and became one of BMC’s most reliable works drivers in the 1960s. Invariably co-driven by his non-identical twin, Erle – Don was the smaller of the two – Morley was always associated with the big Healey 3000s that he drove to repeated victories in the GT category of the Alpine Rally. He also won three Coupes des Alpes and thus a special Coupe d’Argent. His professional rally career started when, after several years of driving rallies at both national and international level, he won the Tulip Rally with Erle in a privately entered Jaguar 3.4 in 1959. His exploits with BMC were not confined to Healeys, however, as he did several major events in a works Mini 850 getting one through to the finish of the Monte Carlo in 1960. In 1964, he temporarily forsook Healeys again for an MGB on the Monte Carlo where he won the GT class ahead of a works Porsche and subsequently co-drove in the Sebring 12-Hours of 1963. The Morley twins were virtually household names in the early sixties, frequently appearing in glorious black and white footage on the BBC News and at the cinema in Pathé News, however, their farm in Suffolk was always a priority particularly during Harvest when motorsport was firmly demoted to second place. When it came to selecting a road car, Don's rally background naturally influenced his choice and in 1984 he purchased a brand new 2,144cc in-line, five-cylinder, 10-valve Audi Quattro WR from Testwood Motors of Southampton. It was finished in Zermatt Silver with a Brazil Cloth interior and was fitted from new with a sunroof and a Blaupunkt Atlanta radio/cassette. In 1995 (the final Tax Disc expired on 30/11/1995), he passed it down to his son at 139,000 miles but he chose never to drive it, storing it in a corner of a barn until recently. The storage area didn't let in much daylight and the car appears to be in remarkably original condition under the dust, the interior in particular benefitting from being kept in favourable light conditions. Background When Alejandro de Tomaso acquired Maserati in 1976, he had ambitious plans for the marque. His aim was to combine the prestige of the Maserati brand with a sports car that would be more affordable, replacing the higher priced models that had traditionally made up the Maserati range. In the 1980s, BMW's E30 ruled the roost for well heeled buyers who wanted a practical car that drove well and sounded good. Keen to grab a piece of this hugely lucrative market, Maserati introduced the BiTurbo in 1981. The concept was simple: a two-door coupé or a four-door saloon, but with a huge dollop of Italian style and purpose. A V6 under the bonnet came with two turbos, which was a first for a production car. The Car The car on offer here is surely the best surviving example in the world, having covered just 12,270km (7,624 miles) from new under a single family ownership. Supplied new in Bologna in 1988, it was cared for from new by Autosport of Bologna during its time in Italy. Very few options were available at the time of ordering, but it was specified with a Nardi wooden wheel and Borrani Milan wire wheels (the original alloys are also included in the sale). There was also a high-spec option of power steering and an electric roof, which was also ticked on the order form. It is believed that of the 524 cars ever produced, only 24 were specified this way. It spent the first 21 years of its life in Italy, with the only change of ownership being from father to son, who then imported the car in 2019 when he himself moved to the UK. Following a period of dry storage, the car was treated to a substantial recommissioning, with all fluids replaced, brand new tyres, wheels refurbished, paint corrected where necessary, repolished interior wood veneer, detailed Alcantara trim, stainless steel exhaust, new cam belt and a full service. Supplied new in Bologna in 1988, it was cared for from new by Autosport of Bologna during its time in Italy. Very few options were available at the time of ordering, but it was specified with a Nardi wooden wheel and Borrani Milan wire wheels (the original alloys are also included in the sale). There was also a high-spec option of power steering and an electric roof, which was also ticked on the order form. It is believed that of the 524 cars ever produced, only 24 were specified this way. It spent the first 21 years of its life in Italy, with the only change of ownership being from father to son, who then imported the car in 2019 when he himself moved to the UK. Following a period of dry storage, the car was treated to a substantial recommissioning, with all fluids replaced, brand new tyres, wheels refurbished, paint corrected where necessary, repolished interior wood veneer, detailed Alcantara trim, stainless steel exhaust, new cam belt and a full service. Supplied with a fresh MOT with 'no advisories'. The results are stunning and we gather the car once again drives like new. The car has a substantial history file which includes the complete book pack, original bill of sale, all Italian documents and proof of Italian provenance.
