Few sports cars combine potent performance, nimble handling, beauty, and rarity quite like the Alpine A110. Featuring Renault mechanicals and shapely fiberglass bodywork, the petite, rear-engine A110 is one of the greatest European rally cars of its decade. Revered for its handling and performance, the A110 established a formidable reputation in the late 1960s and early 1970s with various wins in the International Championship for Manufacturers—forerunner to the World Rally Championship—but truly cemented its name in rally folklore at the first ever WRC event, the 1973 Monte Carlo Rally. Jean-Claude Andruet led an incredible 1-2-3 finish for the Renault-backed factory team as the A110 overpowered rivals from Fiat, Ford, and Lancia. Alpine-Renault proceeded almost unchallenged to claim that year’s manufacturer’s championship. This well-loved example has traveled across the Atlantic multiple times to be enjoyed by appreciative and attentive owners on two continents. Its chassis number confirms the car was manufactured in 1964, though little is known of its early history. Correspondence on file suggests that it was exported from southern France to North America in the late 1970s with a stripped interior and other competition features offered from the factory in period. At some point the car’s 1,108-cubic-centimeter four-cylinder engine was replaced with a later 1,255-cubic-centimeter Gordini inline-four from an A110 1300 G, which would later be tuned to 1300 S specification, displacing 1,296 cubic centimeters. Service invoices dating from 1978 indicate a Toronto-based owner ordered parts directly from Renault France and had the car serviced in Toronto, including having the cylinders honed in June 1981. In September 1993, the Alpine passed to its next owner, who drove it from Toronto across Canada and the United States to his home in Vancouver, British Columbia, later enjoying it on trips down the California coast. In the early 2000s the Alpine passed to an owner in Columbia, South Carolina, who had the four-speed manual gearbox replaced with a five-speed and the engine tuned and valves adjusted. In 2005, this owner would sell the car to its next caretaker based in the United Kingdom, who would register it not for road use, secure its Historic Technical Passport, and drive it competitively in UK hill climbs and club events throughout the mid-to-late 2000s. Under his care, the Alpine would see extensive servicing and upkeep, including installing a roll cage and replacing the Plexiglass rear window, exhaust manifold, silencer, clutch, and tires in 2006; having the engine removed to repair a cracked connecting rod; installing a new clutch kit in 2009 and a new fuel pump and electrical work in 2010. In 2012 The Autoshop Accident Repair Centre in Stroud, Gloucestershire, would strip the body of paint, repair damaged fiberglass bodywork throughout, and repaint the car in blue. Photos for the work are on file. In 2013, the same shop would repair cracks and holes in the dash and repaint it in a black crackle finish. Following this owner’s thorough enjoyment and dutiful care, the Alpine would pass to a couple of other UK-based owners before crossing the Atlantic once again to Sonoma, California. He would retain the car for two years, after which the consignor would acquire it in October 2022. Today, the car presents well, featuring a beautifully finished replacement interior in tan leather with attractive diamond-quilted pattern and racing harnesses. Period features such as three-lug factory-style alloy wheels and fog lamps enhance the presentation. Now offered with a history file with invoices, correspondence, registrations, export documents, and more, this well-loved Alpine-Renault is ready for its next adventure. 1964 Alpine A110 1100 V70 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The Ferrari 328 was introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show replacing the Pinifarina designed 308, with only minor revisions to the styling. These included a moulded bumper, a deeper rear valance and subtle roof spoiler for improved aerodynamics. The interior featured improved seat covers, door cards, instruments, switchgear, heating and ventilation. The transverse mid/rear mounted V8 engine was a development of the 2,926cc unit from the 308 Quattrovalvole, bored out to 3,185cc and retaining the Bosch k-Jetronic fuel injection but with new Marelli electronic engine management. These improvements raised power from 245bhp to 270bhp. The 328 reaches 60mph in just 5.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 170mph. The Ferrari 328 GTS offered here at Autostorico is a 1986 “C plate” finished in Rosso Red with Cream leather interior. - 1962-mercedes-benz-190-sl
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL stands as a perfect example of how listening to customer feedback can shape automotive history. Following the launch of the 300 SL, an astute American Mercedes dealer remarked that while enthusiasm for the model was immense, its price placed it out of reach for many who desired a weekend sports car. Stuttgart responded swiftly: that same year, the 190 SL—built on the Ponton platform—was unveiled at the New York Motor Show. Just twelve months later, the production version made its debut in Geneva. Interestingly, Mercedes never intended the 190 SL to be a pure sports car, but rather a refined two-seater grand tourer. The formula proved a resounding success, with more than 25,000 examples produced between 1955 and 1963. Our 190 SL has enjoyed a fascinating and beautifully documented life. First registered in the USA in 1962, it remained with its original owner for many years. From 1975 through to 2008, every annual Virginia Police inspection and service invoice was carefully retained — a truly rare level of provenance. Upon arrival in the Netherlands, the car was treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration and refinished in its exquisite original shade of Hellblau. The result is nothing short of superb. This exceptional example checks every box and is ready to be enjoyed immediately. A wonderful opportunity to own one of Mercedes-Benz’s most elegant and desirable classics. 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera
First registration 09.1974 44 years in third and last ownership Unique complete documentation Matching numbers and color Porsche certified Swiss road registration with veteran entry The Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI from 1974 is a legendary model and is one of the most sought-after classics of the 911 series. The coupé offered here was delivered to the first owner in the Principality of Liechtenstein in September 1974 by the Porsche dealership Hahn in Fellbach, in the color orange and interior leatherette blue-black with Shetland seat inserts and various individual features such as a 5-speed manual gearbox, tinted windows and an electric sunroof. Just one year later, the car was registered to the second owner in Switzerland and was then, believe it or not, in its third and final ownership for 44 years. It was perfectly cared for, always serviced by Porsche and all work was carried out on it. The engine was recently completely overhauled at Porsche. This beautiful Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI Coupé is matching numbers and color, has a Porsche birth certificate and is in absolutely immaculate and well-maintained collector’s condition. The on-board tools and the on-board folder with all original documents such as operating and user manuals as well as the complete and neatly kept service booklet are present. This 911 Carrara 2.7 has several folders filled with documents and, since 1981, really every invoice and a meticulously kept logbook, absolutely complete and meticulously documented – we have rarely seen anything like it. Although the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI is based on the RS 2.7, its slight increase in weight makes it somewhat more comfortable and suitable for everyday use. Nevertheless, the 2.7 MFI remains a thoroughbred sports car that impresses with its close relationship to racing. This model is extremely popular today. Its blend of classic Porsche design, outstanding driving dynamics and rarity makes it one of the highlights of Porsche history. 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright First registration 09.1974 44 years in third and last ownership Unique complete documentation Matching numbers and color Porsche certified Swiss road registration with veteran entry The Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI from 1974 is a legendary model and is one of the most sought-after classics of the 911 series. - 1970-lancia-fulvia-fanalone-1600-hf-club-italia
This beautifully presented HF Rallye 'Fanalone' - Club Italia is powered by a 1,584cc DOHC V4 fuelled by twin-40mm Webers, offering 143bhp and weighing just 825kg. It looks fabulous in period correct Marlboro livery and is ready to rally in numerous historic events. During the late 1960s, the wonderfully nimble line of front-wheel drive Lancia Fulvia ‘Hi-Fi’ Coupes reigned consistently amongst the highest echelon of International Rally contenders, driven most prominently by a galaxy of world-class stars. Originally 1,298cc and 101bhp, these little coupés began to be campaigned by the Lancia factory team in 1966, achieving second place finishes in the Monte Carlo and Three Cities Rallies, the Team Prize in the Rallye dei Fiori, performing brilliantly on the rugged Acropolis Rally in Greece, and even scored circuit racing class wins in both the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring 1,000km classics. The cars were uprated to 1,440cc and some 120bhp in 1967, taking first and second places in the Spanish Rally and Tour de Corse, second on the Acropolis and sixth in Sweden. In 1968, Pat Moss and Liz Nystrom won the Coupe des Dames in the Monte Carlo Rally and were second at San Remo. Into 1969, 1,600cc engines were developed and Källström/Häggbom won both the San Remo and RAC Rallies, and the cars took another second place in the Monte Carlo classic, sixth in the Swedish Rally and fourth and fifth in the Alpine. Success continued into 1970 when Sandro Munari won the GT category in the Targa Florio, Källström/Häggbom won their second RAC Rally in Great Britain and Lampinen/Davenport won the TAP Rally in Portugal. The Fulvia 1.6 HF Rallye 'Fanalone' (christened so by Italian enthusiasts due to its larger inner headlights) was a thoroughly thought-out factory-built racing car that tipped the scales at a mere 825kg. With extensive use of aluminium and Plexiglas, Girling disc brakes and Campagnolo alloy wheels set at a negative camber, every aspect of the car represented function over form. Fully prepared for rally competition, this particularly attractive, Club Italia example promises its new owner tremendous fun behind the wheel. Built for competition, the 1,584cc, DOHC, narrow-angle V4 is fuelled by twin-40mm Webers and a Dyno print-out shows some 143bhp on unleaded fuel at 7,450rpm. The original engine also accompanies the car as do four competition wheels plus four snow-equipped wheels/tyres. It's fitted with a pair of OMP bucket seats and harnesses, Twin-master Rallye GT trip meter, plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, bolt-in roll cage, a competition fuel tank, and a rare 10,000rpm rev counter. The car is finished in period correct Marlboro livery and is described by the vendor as being in very good running order and essentially ready to rally in numerous historic events. Whilst it's been in our vendor's possession, it has been looked after and maintained by respected specialists, Hall & Hall. Supplied with a good history file, including a Steinbacher Report from 2018, the car is currently registered in Austria but will be UK-registered by the time of the sale. The Fulvia marked Lancia’s glorious and victorious return to motorsport, carving a niche in the rallying scene, paving the way for an era of dominance in the World Rally Championship far from the spotlight hogged by its successors – the Stratos, O37 and Delta Integrale. This beautifully presented 1600 HF is part of that pedigree and we invite and encourage you to come along to the NEC and see this sparkling 'Fanalone' for yourself. 1970 Lancia Fulvia 'Fanalone' 1600 HF Club Italia Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1973-ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-uk-rhd
The Ferrari ‘Daytona’ The Ferrari 365 GTB/4’s dizzying Pininfarina-engineered beauty has been causing knees to weaken and eyes to well for decades. That sleek fastback body epitomises the romance and appeal of the Italian Gran Turismo. The ‘Daytona’ is the kind of classic in which you can turn up anywhere on the planet, be it Monaco or Mumbai, and you’ll draw gawping onlookers by the dozen. It starred in Miami Vice and even Elton John owned one. And in the 1970s that was a big deal. The absolute must-have luxury Grand Tourer in the 1960s and ’70s, the 4.4-litre Colombo V12-powered ‘Daytona’ is no shrinking violet when it comes to hiking up its skirt and getting a move on. Just ask the legendary American racing drivers Brock Yates and Dan Gurney, who, in 1971, famously drove a ‘Daytona’ 2,876 miles from New York City to Redondo Beach in California in a record time of 35 hours and 54 minutes. That’s an average speed of 80.8mph! Chassis number 16657 Of the 1,284 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytonas’ built by Ferrari, only 158 right-hand-drive examples were designated to the UK market. As accompanying factory correspondence documents, chassis number 16657 was delivered new to Maranello Concessionaires in June of 1973. It was originally finished in the stunning shade of Rosso Rubino over a Beige leather interior. The car was fitted from new with the optional air-conditioning system and tan carpets. The years and decades that followed for this ‘Daytona’ are comprehensively chronicled by the accompanying documentation. Chassis number 16657 has remained in England its entire life, passing through the hands of several collectors, a number of whom are prominent figures in British Ferrari circles. The car has always been diligently maintained by noted specialists, as evidenced by the frankly extraordinary history file that accompanies it. Most obviously, it documents when this 365 GTB/4 was refinished in the period Ferrari shade of Blu Metallizzato. Chassis number 16657 was acquired by its current owner in 2020, joining a fast-growing collection of significant historic and modern Ferraris including a 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta and a LaFerrari. Fewer than 200 miles have since been added to the Ferrari overall mileage, which currently reads 54,858 miles – a figure that, as per the accompanying invoices and MOT certificates, is correct. Most recently, this ‘Daytona’ has undergone a comprehensive professional detail and full paint correction. Accordingly, it presents beautifully – that Blu Metallizzato paint boasting a deep and alluring shine. Crucially, chassis number 16657 has been issued with its Ferrari Classiche certification binder, which confirms the original ‘matching’ chassis, engine, transaxle and body. And satisfyingly, the car retains both its factory leather documents pouch, including the user manuals and spare-parts catalogue, spare wheel and complete tool roll. If it’s good to ogle, this Ferrari is even better to drive. We’d go as far as to say it’s among the best-driving ‘Daytonas’ we’ve ever encountered. If ever a car gave us that reassuringly familiar ‘old-pair-of-trousers’ feeling, it was this ‘Daytona’. It’s hard to describe, but since it’s never been fully restored, the car feels just ‘right’ from behind the wheel. Nothing feels tight or snaggy – the gearshift, especially, inspires so much confidence and the buttery-smooth 12-cylinder engine has zero fluff at lower revs. It’s true some ‘Daytonas’ can feel heavy and cumbersome. But this one doesn’t. It’s a credit to the relatively short list of gentlemen who’ve cherished it for the last 53 years. Bravo. 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ UK RHD Girardo & Co. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The Ferrari ‘Daytona’ The Ferrari 365 GTB/4’s dizzying Pininfarina-engineered beauty has been causing knees to weaken and eyes to well for decades. Bravo. Other Cars from Girardo & Co. This 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 is one of 718 examples produced between 1976 and 1978 and is said to have undergone a mechanical and interior refurbishment that was started before the current owner’s 2017 purchase and completed the following year. Finished in red over beige leather upholstery, the car is powered by a mid-mounted 1,973cc inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, single-piece bucket seats, power windows, and a heater. The vehicle was listed on BaT in February 2018, and work in 2021 consisted of rebuilding the carburetors, changing the oil, aligning the doors, and replacing the starter, temperature sender, front springs, and side mirrors. This Esprit S1 is offered again at no reserve on dealer consignment with a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, service records, and a clean California title. The wedge-shaped fiberglass body was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and is mounted to a steel backbone chassis. This example wears a repaint in red carried out under prior ownership, and exterior details include pop-up headlights, a front air dam, replacement side mirrors, a rear hatch, dual fuel-filler caps, and twin exhaust outlets. The doors were aligned in 2021. Polished 14? Wolfrace alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/60 front and 225/70 rear Hankook Optimo H724/5 tires, and a spare on a matching wheel is secured in the front trunk. The car is equipped with independent suspension, reportedly rebuilt circa 2017, as well as disc brakes all around. The front suspension springs were replaced in 2021. The fixed-back bucket seats were reupholstered in beige leather during the refurbishment, and color-coordinated carpeting was fitted. Additional appointments include a heater, power windows, a wood shift knob, and a rear-window defroster. Cracked driver-seat upholstery is depicted in the gallery. The two-spoke steering wheel frames green-dial Veglia instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The mid-mounted twin-cam 1,973cc Lotus 907 inline-four is equipped with twin Dell’Orto carburetors and was factory rated at 140 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. An oil cooler, upgraded radiator, replacement cooling fans, and K&N air filters have been fitted, and the timing belt and cam pulleys were replaced in 2017. Work in 2021 included rebuilding the carburetors, changing the oil, and replacing the starter and temperature sender. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. - 1973 Alfa Romeo Spider
We are delighted to offer for sale an original LHD Series 2 Alfa Romeo Spider which has benefited from a recent full rotisserie restoration with little use since its completion. The records we have confirm it is a matching numbers car and was produced in May 1973 and delivered to Englewood Cliffs in the USA. The body colour was Blue AR 323 with Amaranth Tex interior which it wears today. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spiders were produced in 4 Series and originally penned by Pininfarina himself. It is arguably one of the most appealing Alfa Romeo designs to date and remained in production between 1966 and 1994. Documents that come with the car confirm its history in California before it came to Australia in 1991 when it was imported to Katherine N.T by L.D Wilcox. It remained in that ownership until the current owner purchased it in 2015. Shortly after that time, the current owner began a comprehensive restoration which took six years to complete. He has cherished the car but due to health reasons was unable to drive it much after completion. It now needs to find a new home and an owner who will enjoy it. As part of the restoration, the shell of the car was stripped to bare metal, and any compromised metal replaced. It was then painted in its original blue colour which was well applied and presents extremely well since it was finished some 3 years ago. The interior is a lovely place to be. The beautifully restored wooden steering wheel (it’s the best we’ve seen) greets the eye and the classic dash is very appealing. The instruments are perfect, and the dash is without fault. The seats have been recovered over new bases and seat back foam and the door cards replaced as per original and are like new. A full carpet set finishes the interior off well and adds a touch of luxury. The new, correct type of blue mohair hood is fitted and looks fresh. The car wears its correct alloy wheels which have been refurbished. Start the engine and you immediately know you are in an Alfa Romeo. The 2 litre engine fires up with that familiar growl and then you are away. Out on the open road this car drives well, and the rebuilt gearbox is a delight to use without any issues on any of the synchro’s. The engine bay is pin sharp as you would expect from a thoroughly restored car. The SPICA Fuel Injection system has been rebuilt by a renowned expert and works perfectly. Invoices accompanying the car total over $40,000 for parts alone. There are several folders and files with useful history and relevant documents including every note and piece of correspondence between the owner and various parties involved in the restoration. For the new owner this presents a wonderful opportunity to own a well restored matching numbers Spider in original specification with all the work done and at a fraction of the cost of a restoration. 1973 Alfa Romeo Spider Сlassic Сar Market If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright We are delighted to offer for sale an original LHD Series 2 Alfa Romeo Spider which has benefited from a recent full rotisserie restoration with little use since its completion. One of those Porsches we particularly like. The reason for this is quickly explained – without exception, all Porsches from the air-cooled era up to 1998 were built with much more effort than today – almost by hand. The production time from start to completion took almost four times as long as it does today. With the 964, this so-called production time culminated in a value that quite rightly assumed manufacturing dimensions. The enormous effort at the time brought Porsche into existential distress until a certain Mr. Wiedeking courageously took the reins and turned Porsche into one of the most profitable companies of its kind. The rest is history… we come full circle to our confession in the first sentence, when we explain, based on all the experience we've had over the past 40 years, why we particularly like these Porsches from that era: they seem to be built to last forever, if you take good care of them. There aren't all that many cars that are suitable for inheritance, dear readers. But a good 964 is absolutely essential. And now, as a general refresher, a few historical facts about this model before we get to our offer. The bold step taken by the then relatively small company Porsche to present a contemporary version of its ever-sought-after long-running model with the magical name 911, without robbing it of its essential characteristics or even its shape and silhouette, culminated in the introduction of the 964 model in 1989. This feat meant nothing less than preserving the shape and dimensions of the 911 developed up to that point, while essentially building a new car beneath the bodywork. Despite all adversities and emerging regulations, Porsche AG managed to integrate a fully encapsulated 3.6-liter boxer engine into the rear of the 11, which, not only in terms of emissions, perfectly met all of the increasingly stringent global standards of the time. This powertrain also met all noise regulations, powered a power-assisted steering system, and heated and air-conditioned the interior quickly, consistently, and semi-automatically. Starting with this 964 model, a modern automatic transmission, a modern ABS system, and a completely newly developed spring strut suspension were now available as options. Compared to the predecessor model, this suspension offered significantly more scope for further performance enhancements and the associated dynamic reserves. Finally, starting with this 964 model, a highly complex all-wheel drive system was also available as an option, largely based on the drivetrain of the 959 technology flagship. Last but not least, the sophisticated aerodynamics of the new 964 now allowed for power outputs of up to 400 hp, and corresponding top speeds of up to 300 km/h, without causing its drivers to break a sweat. The top models of this very short-lived model series proved to the world and all experts that this essentially outdated concept, with around 70% of the vehicle's weight on the rear axle, was far from obsolete. This design-related rear-heaviness had its drawbacks, which Porsche persistently mastered over the decades, so convincingly that the experts could only marvel. The advantages of this concept, however, were, are, and remain the most distinctive characteristics of a Porsche 911 – relentless traction on the drive axle and thus very efficient use of the available power, on the one hand. Even more astonishing, however, is the braking force that can be transferred to the rear axle, which is why the 911 has always delivered reference values that now exceed physical limits – thanks in part to the selection of the best braking elements. Back to our 964, which came with all the aforementioned attributes from the factory: largely individually handcrafted, long-lasting quality, modern and contemporary technology in the form of ABS, airbags, power steering, climate control, a fully electric top, comfortable seats, the "Porsche"-like driving of a thoroughbred sports car that no longer has to prove anything to anyone despite its now almost biblical age, absolute everyday usability, 100% spare parts availability, and the associated ease of use, and finally, a reliability that is probably unique in this segment and age. Above all, it is this absolute reliability that makes it so desirable even after decades. We claim that there is no other convertible sports car from the 90s that is even remotely as reliable as this 964. The best part – the 964 was the last to remain true to the classic 911 line and looks like a 911 should look. Try covering the car with a sheet before showing it to a 2-year-old boy. He'll point at it and shout "Porsche." 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
