- 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 4
The E-Type Jaguar debuted at the 1961 Geneva Motorshow as a replacement for the hugely successful Jaguar XK150. The new E-Type was nothing short of a revelation, with its heady blend of supercar performance, breath taking styling and low price tag, the newcomer left its rivals reeling and customers desperate to own one. Designed by William Lyons and Malcolm Sayer the “Series 1” was launched in 1961 in both fixed head coupe and roadster form with design inspiration taken from the Le-Mans winning D-Type sports racer. Built around a steel monocoque chassis with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, all-round independent suspension using coil springs and dampers to the rear with torsion bars and wishbones to the front. Brakes were Dunlop discs all round, mounted inboard to the rear alongside the differential to reduce un-sprung weight. Powered by Jaguar’s XK series twin-cam straight six engine, this offered breath taking performance to rival both Ferrari and Aston Martin. The E-Type still remains one of the greatest car designs ever, with Enzo Ferrari famously describing it as “the most beautiful car in the world.” The Bespoke built, 1963 Jaguar E-Type Roadster 4.7 Litre Semi-Lightweight offered here at Autostorico was commissioned by a discerning British classic car collector who had always admired Eagle’s Spyder GT. He enlisted the talents of Adam Redding, a well-known classic car restorer, to build the ultimate, no expense spared, E-Type. The project began with a 1963 Series 1 Roadster which was totally dismantled before work began building it back up. The body alone took over 3,000 man-hours to complete. The lack of bumpers are the first element you notice but the re-sculpting goes way beyond that. The bespoke built, all-alloy, bonnet has been de-seamed and incorporates flared arches with a deep front valance and welded in louvers. Towards the rear of the car the handcrafted, muscular haunches give the E-Type a more purposeful stance. Whilst the flaring of the arches looks impressive it is also necessary to house the 6×16 Torrino alloy and chrome wire wheels with custom spinners. Finished in Rolls-Royce Midnight Blue with St James Red Conolly hide and Dark Blue Wilton carpets, the interior is every bit as sumptuous as one might expect including many hidden luxuries such as: heated seats, air-conditioning, DAB radio and Bluetooth phone system whilst still retaining period instruments and a Moto Lita steering wheel. Mechanically the car is built for fast road use, with its engine bored out to 4.7 litre specification with large up-rated valves, upgraded water pump, timing chains, forged con-rods, custom flywheel, large bore oil pump, forged pistons, electronic fuel injection, hand polished cam box covers, braised cooling pipes, uprated race cooling system including large cooling fan, aluminium lightweight radiator and header tank, complete stainless steel exhaust system including manifold, electronic ignition, high output starter motor, 4-pot AF Racing brake callipers with large ventilated brake discs, Koni adjustable shock absorbers, modern electric fuel pump, silicone hoses, halogen headlights, modern alternator with V-belt with aluminium pulley upgrades, up-rated power steering mounts, up-rated torsion bars with adjustable height conversion, up-rated anti roll bar drop links and bushes, high power brake servo with polished stainless steel heat shield and up-rated rear suspension mounts plus anti roll bar links & bushings. Presented in excellent condition this stunning E-Type must be one of the finest currently on the market and is offered for sale at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent Eagle built car. 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Autostorico Partners LLP If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1966 Porsche 911 R
This beautiful and uncompromising Porsche 911 R has been perfectly rebuilt to R specifications on an original 1966 911 S chassis without any ifs or buts. The engine has been recently rebuilt to the highest standard by very well known Swiss Porsche specialists. Likewise, the transmission was completely revised / rebuilt. The car offers a sensational power-to-weight ratio with a curb weight of only 800 kgs and a measured 238 hp. The 911 R offered here was delivered by AMAG, Xavier Perrot, has FiA papers, a FIVA Identity Card and is veteran-approved. The period correct seats (see photo) are of course included with the car. The 1967 Porsche 911 R was the lightest 911 of all time and laid the foundation for its sporting success. The Porsche 911 made its racing debut shortly after the start of production in 1965 at the Monte Carlo Rally. With an even faster sports version of the 160 hp Porsche 911 S, a class victory was achieved at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 and the European Rally Championship was won. Thus, the development of new, even more powerful racing versions was a high priority. The focus was on reducing the weight of the 911 S. The hood, doors and fenders were replaced by fiberglass, the windows by Plexiglas. The underbody and many other metal parts were simply pierced with holes. The cockpit was also reduced to the bare minimum and the sound insulation removed. The diet had truly paid off: Instead of the approximately 1,030 kg of a standard Porsche 911 S, the lightweight 911 weighed in at only 800 kg! To this day, the Porsche 911 R is considered the lightest 911 of all time. For faster cornering speeds, the lightweight 911 was fitted with thicker tires and a wider rear end. The engine chosen was the 210 hp Type 901/22 aluminum six-cylinder, which was also used in a similar form in the Porsche 906 and 910 race cars. Experiments were also conducted with the 230-hp, even higher-revving Type 916 racing engine. One of the first racing drivers to try out the new Porsche 911 R was Huschke von Hanstein. The Mille Miglia and Targa Florio winner was thrilled and pushed for homologation for GT racing. But the sales department in Zuffenhausen was less optimistic: they didn’t have the confidence to sell the 500 units needed for homologation. So production of the series model at the Stuttgart company Baur was discontinued after only 19 examples. Just how great the potential of a purist racing 911 really was was demonstrated in October 1967. Jo Siffert and his Swiss teammates had traveled to Monza together to break the high-speed world records set by Ford and Toyota. But their Porsche 906 was not suited to the bumpy Italian track; shortly after the start, the suspension went. A Porsche 911 R from the Baur small series was used as a replacement car. In fact, the Swiss set five new endurance world records with the racing 911 – including the distance of 20,000 kilometers. However, this was not quite the end of the Porsche 911 R’s history: When the Tour de France Automobile was opened up to prototypes in 1969, Gérard Larrousse started with the lightweight 911-and won. He also triumphed in the Tour de Corse shortly afterwards with the same car. 1966 Porsche 911 R Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1967-ferrari-275-gtb4-1
According to marque historian Marcel Massini, this Ferrari 275 GTB/4 completed factory assembly in July 1967, finished in Rosso Chiaro with a Nero Vaumol leather interior. As approximately the 140th example built, the berlinetta was distributed in September 1967 to Société Anonyme pour la Vente des Automobiles Ferrari (SAVAF), the Swiss Ferrari importer in Geneva, owned by renowned racing team sponsor Georges Filipinetti. By 1970, the GTB/4 was exported to Algar Enterprises in Paoli, Pennsylvania, a distinguished Ferrari dealership founded by Al Garthwaite. Shortly after, it was sold to Kirk White in Philadelphia as part of a deal that included a 275 GTS and a 250 GTO. In June 1973, the Ferrari changed hands to Nicholas Simpson of Sterling, Colorado, and by October 1974, it was acquired by Daniel and Leo Shannon of Loveland, Colorado. Mr. Shannon commissioned several mechanical updates, including an engine and transaxle rebuild, an electrical overhaul, a new clutch, and fresh Borrani wire wheels. After these improvements, the car was listed for sale in December 1975 and purchased by Ferrari collector Joseph Moch of Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose collection included a 375 America Coupe, a 250 GT Europa, and a 250 GT California Spider. By 1984, the berlinetta was owned by Jean Banchet, a renowned French chef in Wheeling, Illinois, known for his acclaimed restaurant La Francais. A year later, it underwent a comprehensive refurbishment by John Hajduk of Motorkraft in Indiana. Around 1988, the Ferrari was acquired by Jake Weaver of Jackson, Mississippi, who maintained it meticulously. When he offered it for sale five years later, he described it as “beautifully maintained.” In 1993, Bill Mitchell of Colleyville, Texas, purchased chassis 10147, keeping it for at least four years while commissioning an interior reupholstering by Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville, Texas. In March 1998, the Ferrari was acquired by James Malouin of Banning, California, who soon entrusted a full engine rebuild to Ferrari specialist Patrick Ottis in Berkeley, California. The $30,000 restoration included extensive work on the block, cylinders, crankshaft, carburetors, fuel pumps, clutch, radiator, steering box, brakes, and shocks. The Borrani wire wheels were properly rebuilt and fitted with Michelin XWX tires. The car also received a new Rosso exterior finish, applied by a former Straman Coachworks employee. Malouin retained the Ferrari for five years before selling it in 2003. By May 2005, the car was owned by Beth LeQuin and Bruce Miller of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Miller presented it at the Third Annual Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel Valley, California, in August 2005. Later that year, the berlinetta was purchased by Steve Wolf and moved to Boca Raton, Florida. Between late 2010 and 2011, the 275 GTB/4 underwent a significant cosmetic restoration, including paint refinishing and an interior retrim. In March 2011, it was offered at Amelia Island and purchased by Canepa Motorsports in Paradise Valley, California. Following a detailed refinement, Canepa sold the Ferrari to Jeff Lotman of Los Angeles, who later showcased it at the FCA National Field and Driving Concours in Palm Springs in October 2011. Around this time, the car received Ferrari Classiche certification, securing a Red Book that verified it retained all of its original factory-issued matching-numbers mechanical components, including the original Tipo 213 V-12 engine. An automatic entry into any concours event, a 275 4-Cam is a must have for a collection. 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 GT Motor Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright According to marque historian Marcel Massini, this Ferrari 275 GTB/4 completed factory assembly in July 1967, finished in Rosso Chiaro with a Nero Vaumol leather interior. The Lancia 2000 HF Coupe is a stylish and distinctive two-door sports coupe produced by Italian automaker Lancia from 1971 to 1973. The car was designed as a successor to the popular Fulvia Coupe and featured a sleek, aerodynamic body designed by Pininfarina, one of Italy's most renowned automotive design firms. The 2000 HF Coupe was powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that produced up to 140 horsepower, and featured a range of advanced features for the time, including front-wheel drive, independent front suspension, and disc brakes all around. The 2000 HF Coupe was well-received by critics and automotive enthusiasts alike, who praised its stylish design, advanced engineering, and excellent driving dynamics. The car was also successful on the racing circuit, with Lancia entering a modified version of the 2000 HF Coupe in the European Rally Championship, where it won several events and helped establish Lancia's reputation as a manufacturer of high-performance sports cars. Despite its initial success, the Lancia 2000 HF Coupe was only produced in limited numbers, with a total of just 2,500 units built over the course of two years. However, its impact on the automotive world was significant, as it helped to establish Lancia's reputation for building stylish and innovative sports cars that combined advanced engineering with excellent driving dynamics. The power plant was adopted from the 2000 sedan and available in two states of tune: carburetor on the 2000 Coupé, Bosch electronic fuel injection and engine management on the 2000 HF. The HF was recognizable by the body-side rub-strip, wooden Nardi steering wheel, and magnesium alloy wheels by Cromodora. Both versions had a 5-speed manual transmission with a dog-leg gearbox arrangement. The Lancia 2000 and 2000 HF Coupés were technologically advanced for the day with features such as a 5-speed transmission, power assisted steering and electronic fuel injection on the 2000 HF. Looking for a classic car that's both stylish and a joy to drive? Look no further than this 2000 HF, a beautifully restored example of Italian engineering and design. And if you appreciate the history of classic cars, this 2000 HF comes with its original libretto and books, giving you the chance to trace its lineage and learn more about its unique story. Owning a classic car is about more than just having a nice car to look at. - 1988-maserati-biturbo-420-si
A superb car with a single family ownership and extraordinarily low miles. Surely the best in the world. Background When Alejandro de Tomaso acquired Maserati in 1976, he had ambitious plans for the marque. His aim was to combine the prestige of the Maserati brand with a sports car that would be more affordable, replacing the higher priced models that had traditionally made up the Maserati range. In the 1980s, BMW's E30 ruled the roost for well heeled buyers who wanted a practical car that drove well and sounded good. Keen to grab a piece of this hugely lucrative market, Maserati introduced the BiTurbo in 1981. The concept was simple: a two-door coupé or a four-door saloon, but with a huge dollop of Italian style and purpose. A V6 under the bonnet came with two turbos, which was a first for a production car. The Car The car on offer here is surely the best surviving example in the world, having covered just 12,270km (7,624 miles) from new under a single family ownership. Supplied new in Bologna in 1988, it was cared for from new by Autosport of Bologna during its time in Italy. Very few options were available at the time of ordering, but it was specified with a Nardi wooden wheel and Borrani Milan wire wheels (the original alloys are also included in the sale). There was also a high-spec option of power steering and an electric roof, which was also ticked on the order form. It is believed that of the 524 cars ever produced, only 24 were specified this way. It spent the first 21 years of its life in Italy, with the only change of ownership being from father to son, who then imported the car in 2019 when he himself moved to the UK. Following a period of dry storage, the car was treated to a substantial recommissioning, with all fluids replaced, brand new tyres, wheels refurbished, paint corrected where necessary, repolished interior wood veneer, detailed Alcantara trim, stainless steel exhaust, new cam belt and a full service. Supplied with a fresh MOT with 'no advisories'. The results are stunning and we gather the car once again drives like new. The car has a substantial history file which includes the complete book pack, original bill of sale, all Italian documents and proof of Italian provenance. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a beautifully preserved part of Maserati's history. 1988 Maserati Biturbo 420 Si Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1964 Aston Martin DB5 1
Beautifully presented throughout, this Aston Martin DB5 has been extensively restored in recent years and certified by the factory to coveted Gold standard. Chassis number DB5/1878/R was completed at Newport Pagnell on 8 November 1964 as a right-hand-drive UK-market car. Finished in Black Pearl with a Fawn interior, it was first registered on 29 December and dispatched to dealer Cyril Williams of Wolverhampton. It’s thought that its intended first owner – A Jackson & Son Ltd of Birmingham – never took delivery, and instead it was bought by George Styles on 3 March 1965. The DB5’s history file includes an unbroken record of ownership from then all the way up to the present day. Mr Styles kept the car until November 1986, when it passed to Paradise Garage in London. It was then bought by Mark Longe in 1991, and he sold it the following year via RS Williams to Howard Giles. Giles took the DB5 back to Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell so that it could be fully assessed, and he decided to embark on a complete restoration. The process took nearly two years, with Aston Martin being entrusted with the bodywork and interior, while RS Williams took care of most of the mechanical work. Giles sold the DB5 in June 1999, and after being cared for by two further owners, it passed to a new custodian in October 2014. With 20 years having passed since the restoration, he commissioned marque specialist Oselli to carry out a further full restoration such were the demands of the meticulous owner. This was thoroughly documented – including photographs – in the history file and resulted in stripping the Aston Martin down to nothing more than a shell. A full bare metal repaint in original colour scheme was carried out, the interior was completely re-trimmed, and all other mechanical components and electrical items on the car were rebuilt as new at a cost of just over £400,000. The result is an immaculate example of this iconic British grand tourer that retains its original colour combination and matching-numbers status. Now also resting on brand new stunning Borrani Wire Wheels at a cost of over £15,000. Now being offered for sale at the Classic Motor Hub, this Aston Martin DB5 comes with an extensive history file that includes an original instruction book, plus a wealth of invoices showing the work that has been carried out over the years – testament to how well its enthusiast owners have cared for it. 1964 Aston Martin DB5 The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1964 Aston Martin DB5 2
Presented in stunning condition throughout, this exceptional DB5 has been the subject of extensive restoration work in recent years. Chassis number DB5/1786 was delivered in October 1964 as a right hand drive UK market car, finished in Sierra Blue and sold via the dealer HW Motors (K.N. Rudd) to its first owner, a Mr D.F. Albert of Hastings, East Sussex. Service records show that he was an enthusiastic owner covering some 25k miles by 1969, until selling to the second owner, another Hastings resident E.A. Parkinson in 1973. A garage owner, who had always wanted a DB5, ‘Ted’ Parkinson was its proud owner for the next 45 years! When the present owner bought the car it was apparent that it had been cherished and well maintained all its life, the decision was made to invest a great deal of money with marque specialists Aston Engineering enabling it to be enjoyed with trouble free motoring for many more decades. Not only cosmetic work that included a full repaint in the very attractive original colour, there was also extensive work carried out underneath and mechanically. The interior has a wonderful feeling of old world charm, beautifully supple old leather that new hides simply can’t match for character. Very well set up for touring, smooth effortless power delivered through the ZF gearbox and rolling on a desirable set of Borrani wire wheels, including the spare. This low mileage, highly original (still has the numbered keys) matching numbers DB5 with only 2 owners since 1973 in a stunning colour combination is a very desirable proposition. 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Will Stone Historic Cars Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. This Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Coupé is a race-prepared, FIA-compliant example of the iconic classic British sports coupé that’s enjoyed success at the Silverstone Classic, the Donington Historic Festival and Equipe Classic Racing meets at Oulton Park and Snetterton. Its first outing, after being rebuilt five years ago, was the 60th Anniversary E-Type Challenge at the Silverstone Classic in 2021, when it finished a very impressive second in monsoon conditions driven by Danny Winstanley. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PfHSAumihw). At that time, it was still fitted with a 317bhp straight-port, steel-block engine but the car is now powered by a dry-sump, all-alloy 3.8-litre Crosthwaite and Gardiner wide-angle straight-six, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 'EJ' 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.77:1 limited-slip differential. The car is classically finished in Old English White with contrasting red and blue racing stripes and sits on 15" magnesium wheels with 3-spoke knock-offs, wrapped in Dunlop Racing tyres. Equipment includes a differential cooler, uprated driveshafts, an alloy radiator and header tank, oil cooler, uprated anti-roll bars, lightweight brake callipers, lightweight plastic windows, front and rear tow hooks, full cage, Tillett bucket seat (2026), Lifeline harness, OMP fire extinguisher system, 3-spoke Sparco steering wheel and a heated windscreen. The FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP) is valid until 31 December 2029. In preparation for the 2024 season, the car was fitted with a new 100-litre foam-filled baffled alloy fuel tank, new fuel lines, a replacement propshaft and clutch, re-valved Koni dampers, new front brake pads and MSD ignition. The fire extinguisher was also serviced, the suspension arms and nuts/bolts were zinc-plated and the underside and engine bay were resprayed, including powder-coating the engine frames. In November 2024, the engine was refreshed with new bearings, valve springs, crankshaft damper, clutch, oil, and filters. The Jaguar is road-registered (BRU 387A) and could be driven to events, sprints, hill climbs etc. (on road tyres) and even used on road-rallies but its prime function is as a very competitive racer. The most recent MOT test was on 15 March 2021 at an indicated 75,058 miles, which was a first time pass. In addition to the aforementioned FIA/HTP, the car is accompanied by its V5C, old MOTs, set up notes, invoices etc. and a collection of spare parts, as listed below.
