At the 1966 Paris Motor Show, Maserati presented the Mexico (internally known as the Tipo 112), a four-seater luxury GT coupé with a notchback and an eight-cylinder V engine. The Mexico was based on a Bertone prototype from 1965, but the production version was given a body by Vignale based on a design by Michelotti. It sat on a tubular frame. The chassis was similar to that of other Maseratis of the time: independently suspended wheels at the front, a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear and disc brakes on all wheels. Initially, the Mexico was powered exclusively by a 4.7-litre V8 engine with four Weber carburettors producing 290 hp. From 1969, the smaller 4.2-litre V8 from the first Maserati Quattroporte with 260 hp was available as an alternative. Our Maserati Mexico with a 4.2-litre V8, 5-speed gearbox, air conditioning and optional Ghibli central locking wheels was first registered in Holland on 19 September 1969. Evidently restored several years ago, the rare coupé – only 305 vehicles with the 4.2-litre engine were built – was probably imported to Switzerland in the early 2000s. In August 2018, the Mexico was taken over by the consignor and integrated into his small collection. He drove the Maserati only a little, but was concerned about keeping it well maintained – he recently had the entire brake system and suspension overhauled. Due to time constraints, he deregistered the car in September 2025 and now wishes to part with his sporty Gran Tourismo. The Maserati Mexico is in good to very good condition and is sure to bring a lot of joy to its new owner. The most recent veteran MOT has been completed in August 2018. 1969 Maserati Mexico 4200 Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1977-ferrari-512-bb-1
We're excited to bring to market one of the most compelling “lost and found” Ferraris we've come across. An early 1977 Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer, chassis 20747, discovered sitting in static storage in a Palm Beach garage. This early, carbureted 512 BB is 1 of only 929 examples produced and stands out immediately for its stunning Blu Chiaro over Cuoio specification — a rare, elegant combination seldom seen on Boxers. Delivered new in Europe and showing its original kilometer instruments, the car also carries genuine period racing history, documented through an incredible archival photo set from the early 1980s showing the car actively campaigned at events throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. This archive can be found on the Netherlands 512bb registry archive. Later in its life, #20747 became part of the private collection of Frits Kroymans, the longtime official Ferrari importer for the Netherlands and one of Europe's most respected Ferrari collectors. Kroymans' stable famously included blue-chip icons such as a 250 GTO, 250 Testa Rossa, and numerous significant competition Ferraris — making his ownership a meaningful piece of provenance for any car that passed through his hands. When the Kroymans Collection was dispersed, this Boxer quietly made its way to the United States, eventually landing in a Palm Beach garage where it remained tucked away and largely forgotten — preserved, untouched, and waiting for its next chapter. As found the car has some service and cosmetic needs. It starts and runs but will need a full inspection and service prior to road use. Cosmetically the dash has shrinkage and pulling and the paint has blemishes throughout. The rocker panels have corrosion on the bottom corners that will need to be addressed while the underside is nicely detailed and shows as a solid original example. Notably the rear fenders were flared to accommodate for wider Campagnolo wheels in its racing days. The original set of wheels are also included with the sale. Today, it emerges as a true analog icon: a carbureted flat-12 Ferrari in a rare colorway, with European provenance, photo documented period racing histoy, and former residence in one of Europe's most serious Ferrari collections. 1977 Ferrari 512 BB Driver Source Fine Motorcars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1962-jaguar-e-type-38-fhc-series-i
The Jaguar E-type was a performance landmark during the 1960s and even a standard car still feels fast today. This particular example, however, has been beautifully upgraded throughout and now offers an even more impressive driving experience. The Heritage Certificate in the history file confirms that chassis number 886653 was built at the Browns Lane factory on 21 August 1962. It was then dispatched on 30 August to Jaguar’s Swedish distributor, Fredlund in Stockholm, finished in Carmen Red with a Beige interior. More recently, the E-type returned to the UK in need of a complete restoration. Its owner commissioned a rebuild that would turn it into a comfortable, reliable and fast long-distance tourer, and its huge specification is testament to how every detail was considered. Having been completely stripped down, it was converted to right-hand drive and gained alloy doors, boot panel and bonnet. New rear wheelarches were fabricated that were wider than standard, in order to cover the more substantial 245/60 rear tyres. At the front, 225/65 tyres were specified, and all round the E-type now sports split-rim alloy wheels in the style of the famous Dunlop rims used by Jaguar during the 1950s and ’60s. Extended louvres were let into the aluminium bonnet in order to improve cooling, and work in tandem with an alloy radiator, electric cooling fan and a high-flow water pump. It’s running on fuel injection with Jenvey throttle bodies, with a tubular stainless-steel exhaust manifold, an upgraded alternator and electronic ignition. A spin-off oil filter has been fitted, too. The braking system features four-pot calipers front and rear, with Aeroquip hoses, while the standard gearbox has been replaced with a five-speed unit – a popular E-type upgrade. An alloy fuel tank was installed, while the suspension is adjustable and a rear anti-roll bar has been fitted. The quality of the interior matches the specification elsewhere. Upgraded seats have been installed, along with a DAB radio and a smaller wood-rimmed steering wheel. The windscreen is heated and LED lighting was fitted. The finishing touch was a stunning respray in the modern Jaguar shade of Portofino Blue, and this spectacular E-type is being offered for sale with a photographic record of its painstaking build. It comes with a car cover and represents a brilliantly individual take on this ever-popular classic. 1962 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 FHC Series I The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. One of the approximately 20 Fanalones built in 1969 by Lancia in RHD at the request of Lancia GB Ltd. These cars were identical to the LHD Fanalones mechanically but for the UK market were fitted with stainless steel bumpers, glass to the side windows instead of Plexi and had thin floor carpets instead of rubber mats. This particular chassis 1103 is one of the first road cars built after the works competition cars. It is finished in the rare colour of Jamaica Blue and has the optional Fusina steering wheel. It was first registered on the 3rd September 1969 in Cheshire but I have no information as yet on either the first or second owner. The third owner I believe was David Scheldt of Scheldt and Pettet, Lancia specialists in London. I understand he used the car in various competition events over a number of years before eventually selling it to the fourth owner David MacKenzie? of London. He restored the car over a number of years and it appeared at an event at Covent Garden in September 2003. The car was then acquired in 2009 by the fifth owner, a Swiss gentleman, who had homes in the UK. He undertook a complete mechanical refresh both at Richard Thorne and Omicron where the engine and gearbox were rebuilt. I purchased the car from Lukas Huni, Zurich, Switzerland in 2013. The car had not been formally exported from the UK so retained it’s UK V5. It has required further cosmetic work in my ownership to get it to the condition it is in today and has covered about 3K miles since the engine / gearbox rebuild. 1969 Lancia Fulvia Coupe Rallye 1.6 HF Fanalone The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1998-subaru-impreza-wrc98-safari
The legacy Colin McRae and his gung-ho, no-holds-barred, seat-of-the-pants driving style forged cannot be downplayed. Virtually single-handedly, he made rallying a household sport in the 1990s, inspiring a generation. And he did so thrashing a blue and yellow Subaru Impreza. While Subaru’s exquisite rollcall of drivers over the years – including Tommy Mäkinen, Juha Kankkunen, Petter Solberg and Richard Burns, to name but a few – led the marque to three Drivers’ and three Constructors’ World Championships, it’s the McRae period from 1997, when the new era of ‘World’ cars were introduced, which remains closest to our hearts. When the World Rally Championship regulations drastically changed ahead of the 1997 season, putting an end to the Group A era, Subaru and its trusted technical partner Prodrive were well prepared. The two-door WRC97, which was styled by the renowned automotive designer Peter Stevens and built using the latest GC8 bodyshell, proved to be a tour de force. It clinched eight victories from 14 events to easily dominate the 1997 World Rally Championship and win the Constructors’ title by a staggering 24 points. Today, these early ‘World’ Imprezas are brilliant and surprisingly accessible cars to own and use, not to mention significant pieces of history from a time when you didn’t need a laptop and a squadron of electricians and data scientists to start and run them. We’ve famously championed the ex-McRae Imprezas, of which this car is among the most famous… ‘R7 WRC’ For the 1998 World Rally Championship, Prodrive made a number of modifications to the Impreza WRC97 using the knowledge gleaned from its 1997 campaign. The lion’s share of the engineers’ attention was the powertrain. The manifolds were reshaped to enhance the packaging of the engine bay, a new turbocharger was fitted boosting power and the anti-lag system – internally amusingly known as ‘push to crash’ – was refined to improve throttle response. ‘R7 WRC’ was among the first batch of Subaru Impreza WRC98s built and registered on 1 January 1998. After a Prodrive shakedown test at the MIRA proving ground in Lancashire, the car was flown to Kenya for its first World Rally Championship event: the 1998 Safari Rally. It was earmarked for the 1995 World Rally Champion Colin McRae and his co-driver Nicky Grist. And it’s fair to say expectations were high: in 1997, McRae and Grist had vanquished the opposition to win by a staggering seven minutes. Oriented around the city of Nairobi, the Safari Rally really was the ultimate test for man and machine, the cars and their drivers having to endure treacherous terrain and sweltering cockpit temperatures on what was then the longest event on the calendar. To make matters worse, new rules for 1997 meant teams were no longer permitted to use service helicopters. That meant if a car needed to be repaired, it had to be done either by the pilots at the side of the road or at the designated service parks. As a result, ‘R7 WRC’ was built to ‘safari’ specification, which differed to ‘tarmac’ or ‘gravel’ Imprezas in a number of crucial ways. Visually, the car sits much higher to allow for greater ground clearance over the rocky terrain and for the damper top mounts to be mounted on the underside of the body shell, rather than inside. For wading through deep water, a carbon-fibre snorkel was fitted, raising the air intake to the roof. And to avoid large wildlife causing damage to the car, heavy-duty bull bars were fitted directly to the chassis, mounted both behind and ahead of the front bumper. In the boot, there was an extra spare wheel and an enlarged 120-litre capacity. The drivers themselves received no such special measures. A film of heat-shielding reflective window tint and additional spotlights on the wing mirrors were deemed sufficient for McRae and Grist. The main talking point ahead of the 1998 Safari Rally was the intense rainfall in the weeks prior, which had flooded the rivers and washed the stages clear of sand, leaving behind an un-cushioned bed of punishing rocks. It had also turned the stunning African landscape a deep shade of luscious green. Day one’s six special stages stretched a staggering 364 kilometres from Nairobi south into the bush – further than most rallies cover in three days. After a strong start, McRae and Grist encountered an unforeseen issue on the second special stage of the rally when the chunky tread on their rear Pirelli tyres tore away under the intense high-speed load, resulting in a double puncture. Four minutes were lost to the leader Tommi Mäkinen in the process of changing the rears, though a dogged McRae was undeterred. “If you drop four minutes in a European event you’re out and that’s it,” he said safely back in the service park, “but here in Kenya it’s not such a problem.” A slight change to the camber of his Subaru was made to relieve the load on the rear wheels, after which the comeback was on. Four special stages remained on day one of the rally and, amazingly, McRae won all of them with what looked to be relative ease. ‘R7 WRC’ was back in the fight. McRae and Grist picked things up on day two just as they’d left off on day one: in decisive fashion. The day’s special stages traversed the spectacular ridge of the Great Rift Valley, with competitors crossing the equator several times in the process. Alas, Lady Luck unleashed her cruel wrath towards the end of the leg, when the Subaru’s engine began to falter – the result of oil so hot it was boiling. Despite the best efforts of Prodrive’s engineers back at service, McRae and Grists’ race was run. The 1995 World Rally Champion drove only two Subaru Impreza WRC cars on the world’s toughest rally: ‘P8 WRC’ in 1997 and ‘R7 WRC’ in 1998. Here at Girardo & Co., we have been honoured to encounter and rehome both of these incredibly special rally cars. Post-Works career Its factory duties complete, ‘R7 WRC’ was returned to Prodrive and, like most of its competition counterparts, sold and subsequently used as a privateer entry in domestic and international rallies across Europe. It’s important to note that this Impreza was photographed partially disassembled at Prodrive around the time it was sold and the Safari-specific points on the bodyshell are visible. In 2017, ‘R7 WRC’ was acquired by an English collector who immediately commissioned the Oxfordshire-based competition Subaru specialist Autosportif Engineering to comprehensively restore this Impreza to its factory specification, both mechanically and cosmetically. Undertaken over the course of two years, the project was exhaustive and put the onus on reinstating the specific details that make Safari-prepared Imprezas unique. As a result, Autosportif was able to source a plethora of original Prodrive-built Safari components. These included (but were by no means limited to) the carbon-fibre A-pillar-mounted snorkel, the bull bars, the enlarged 12-litre fuel tank, the wing-mirror spotlights and even the Coralba rally computers used by Nicky Grist. Steve Goddard’s SGM Race Paint was charged with applying this Subaru’s signature shade of blue – fitting, as it painted (and continues to paint) almost all of Prodrive’s competition cars. And the instantly recognisable 555 Subaru World Rally Team livery was reapplied in perfect period-correct detail, down to the 1998 Safari Rally-specific decals. Upon the completion of its restoration, ‘R7 WRC’ was exhibited by its owner at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it proved a real fan favourite. Less than a year later, we were able to find ‘R7 WRC’ a fantastic new home with a UK-based collector new to the world of rally cars. He enjoyed the car on several occasions, driving it – as intended – on the world-famous Forest Rally Stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and even at Walter’s Arena, the stages of which were actually encompassed in the Rally of Great Britain back in the late-1990s. BGMsport maintained the Subaru throughout his ownership, ensuring it remained in the finest possible fettle. Two years later, in November of 2022, we were privileged to sell ‘R7 WRC’ for the second time, on this occasion to an Italian collector based in Emilia-Romagna. In addition to entering the Impreza in the fiercely popular RallyLegend in San Marino, he also accepted Goodwood’s invitation to have the car at the Festival of Speed in 2025, where it formed part of the class celebrating 30 years since Colin McRae’s 1995 World Rally Championship title. Over the course of the weekend, the car contested the world-famous hill-climb in the hands of two very special guest drivers: Colin’s nephew Max McRae and Bugatti-Rimac’s chief test-driver Miro Zrncevic Mrgud. The latter had a lifelong dream to drive one of Colin’s Imprezas and his overwhelming emotion having realised it was incredible special to see. Following its Goodwood appearance, the Subaru returned to us here at Belchers Farm to be offered for sale once again. In the time since, we’ve commissioned a cosmetic refresh, which included repainting sections of the bodywork that had been stone-chipped, reapplying the legendary 555 Subaru World Rally Team livery and fitting new tyres. The car has also been professionally detailed. Today, this fabulous Subaru stands as an incredibly significant piece of rallying – and, in turn, Colin McRae – history. And having experienced this Impreza now on the three occasions we’ve been privileged to offer it, we must also point out what an exhilarating and remarkably accessible beast it is to own and drive. ‘R7 WRC’ flatters its driver with the way it’s set up. It’s always welcomed enthusiastically, whether a high-profile event or simply out on the public roads. There’s also an indescribably special feeling knowing Colin McRae sat and gripped the same wheel. Without doubt, this very car had a hand in inspiring an entire generation of car lovers. 1998 Subaru Impreza WRC98 Safari Girardo & Co. This matching-numbers Ferrari 330 GTC is a true time capsule—retained in single-family ownership from 1972 to 2025, a remarkable 53-year span. Accompanied by a Marcel Massini report, the car was delivered new in Argento (Argento 25090 A) over Nero Franzi with red carpets and remains a largely original, beautifully preserved example of one of Ferrari's most elegant and desirable V12 Grand Tourers. One of just 598 Ferrari 330 GTCs ever built, this LHD European-specification example stands out for its originality and provenance. Registered in Switzerland in 1969 and exported to the U.S. in 1972, it was acquired by Mr. Edward Clifton McClew Jr. of Birmingham, Michigan. It has remained tucked away in dry storage for decades until recently discovered—complete and untouched. Matching numbers throughout (chassis, engine, gearbox, rear axle) Original assembly number visible on the rear trunk floor and trunk bonnet Original Pininfarina body number C0176 is still visible in the engine compartment 60,625 km (approx. 37,670 miles) from new Original interior: black leather with red carpeting, nicely preserved Campagnolo center-lock alloy wheels with vintage Pirelli tires Original Sekurit glass all around, including windshield Includes original owner's manual, parts manual, and a box of miscellaneous parts Copy of Original Swiss export documentation and purchase invoice (dated July 14, 1972) Marcel Massini history report dated September 4, 2025 This “Lost and Found” Ferrari is a rare opportunity to acquire a survivor-grade 330 GTC with superb bones, honest patina, and exceptional documentation. Offered “as discovered” the engine is not currently running but does turn freely by hand. It's a dream candidate for sympathetic mechanical recommissioning or concours-level restoration—with the irreplaceable character and soul of a car that's been well preserved. 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Driver Source Fine Motorcars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Victor Gauntlett is a key figure in the long history of Aston Martin, helping to steer the company through a difficult period in the early 1980s and staying on as chairman after the Ford takeover in 1987. He was also a keen enthusiast and a discerning collector, and he owned this DB2 on two separate occasions. Chassis number LML/50/396 was built on 11 April 1953 as a right-hand-drive, UK-market car. The Heritage Certificate notes that it was Black with Beige trim, and that it wasdispatched on 23 April to Brooklands of Bond St, London. The registration number that it still wears today – PAR 651 – was issued in Hertfordshire. A black-and-white photograph in its file shows the car competing at Prescott hillclimb during the 1950s, and it was later owned by John Donner – another well-known collector who was noted for the quality of his restorations. Elsewhere in the file is a set of photographs documenting a rebuild during Donner’s ownership, in which the car was stripped all the way down to a bare chassis and its bodywork taken back to bare metal. The DB2 was then acquired by Victor Gauntlett, whose son Richard has fond memories of high-speed runs in this car, including a cross-country drive from Essex to Gloucestershire in tandem with his father, who was at the wheel of his Blower Bentley. Even though Victor subsequently sold the Aston Martin, it must have made quite an impression on him because he bought it back only five months later. In 1995, the DB2 played a central role in the Aston Martin Owners’ Club Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and was one of a select group of cars that were displayed inside the Dorchester Hotel in London during the Grand Jubilee Ball. It was subsequently bought from Gauntlett by a marque enthusiast as part of a small collection, and in 2010 its engine was rebuilt by Rex J Woodgate Automotive Consultants. Now superbly presented in green with red wheels, this Aston Martin DB2 boasts a fascinating ownership history and is a fine example of this charismatic 1950s sports saloon. 1953 Aston Martin DB2 The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. 1987 Ford Sierra R/S Cosworth. 89,845 miles. Finished in moonstone blue metallic with cashmere grey/red velour and Roma fabric upholstery for the Recaro front seats & rear bench. Under the bonnet is a rebuilt 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, delivering around 204bhp and 205lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a Borg-Warner five-speed manual transmission. The engine has been rebuilt by Grace Engine Developments in Newbury, and the car has not yet been fully ‘run in’, having covered only 500 miles since the rebuild. The specification includes a full size spare, electrically operated windows and mirrors, a check-control panel, a sunroof, and an original Ford radio cassette player and amplifier. It rides on the correct 15-inch ‘Lattice’ alloy wheels, whilst also featuring Koni adjustable suspension, a Mongoose exhaust system, and polyurethane bushes throughout the suspension system. The handbook, an RS Cosworth supplement, the service record, and a significant history folder of paperwork, including old MOT test certificates, tax discs, and numerous maintenance invoices and parts receipts are included with the car. New original specification brake pipes have been fitted, along with a genuine RS500 front bumper, splitter, and scuttle panel. The latest service was the car’s full engine rebuild, which included fitment of new Wossner pistons, new shell bearings, a new water pump, and new valves among many other parts, with zinc plating of all the bolts and nickel plating of the fuel rails. 1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Classic Connection If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1989-lamborghini-countach-25th-anniversary-edition-by-bertone-02
By the late 1980s, the Lamborghini Countach was already an indisputable icon, an angular, mid-engine fantasy that had spent over a decade warping young minds and adorning bedroom walls across the globe. With the arrival of the 25th Anniversary Edition in 1988, Lamborghini did more than just celebrate a milestone for the supercar: It sent off its most outrageous creation with a final, unapologetic roar. The 25th Anniversary Countach was not a radical reinvention, but rather a thoughtful, precision-tuned evolution of everything that had made the Countach extraordinary. Designer Horacio Pagani refined the car’s famously aggressive bodywork. What resulted was a suite of subtle but effective aerodynamic updates: reworked front and rear bumpers, deeper air intakes, revised side skirts, and new cooling ducts over the rear fenders. The cabin took a measured step toward civility via power-operated seats and windows, standardized climate control, improved bolstering, and a re-engineered steering assembly. The new Countach was still a supercar that demanded commitment but, for the first time, also offered a degree of comfort. Under the rear deck, the familiar 5.2-liter V-12 produced around 455 horsepower and was paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The mechanicals benefited from fine-tuning courtesy of rally legend Sandro Munari, who revised the suspension and fitted wider Pirelli tires to help tame the beast’s famously unruly handling. Performance remained scorching: 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of more than 180 mph. But the real achievement of the 25th Anniversary Edition was its balance, as it retained every bit of the Countach’s flamboyance while smoothing over its roughest edges. Produced from 1988 to 1990, the 25th Anniversary Edition rightfully became the most commercially successful Countach, with a run of approximately 657 units. This example is finished in the wonderful factory shade of Rosso Perlato (224147) over a tan leather interior. The car is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. The Lamborghini rides on 15-inch OZ Racing wheels and features the desirable rear wing. The tan leather interior features a gated shifter, climate control, JVC head unit, as well as power seats, windows, mirrors, and locks. Lamborghini chief test driver Valentino Balboni signed the dashboard and photos of him with the car are included in the sale. The Countach's odometer displayed 35,999 kilometers (22,369 miles) at time of cataloguing. As the final chapter in the Countach saga, the 25th Anniversary Edition bid a fitting farewell to Lamborghini’s most audacious creation. This fascinating example offers a compelling opportunity to acquire one of the definitive poster cars of the 20th century—still as bold, brash, and breathtaking as the day it was delivered. 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition by Bertone RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
