- 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona
The origin of the Ferrari marque began with open-top sports cars, powered by the company’s legendary V-12 engine positioned in the front—a trademark configuration that disappeared from Ferrari’s model range after the 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider. With 26 years of continual development from the 125 to the 365, the Daytona Spider is regarded by many tifosi as one of the finest cars to ever leave Maranello’s factory gates. The Daytona Spider was mechanically identical to the more conventional 365 GTB/4, which itself shared much of its drivetrain with the legendary 275 GTB/4. Underneath the incredible body designed by Leonardo Fioravanti lay a tubular steel chassis in which was housed a monstrous 4.4-litre quad-cam V-12; keeping to Ferrari’s competition roots, the 352-horsepower mill was lubricated with a dry-sump system. In order to keep an ideal weight balance, a transaxle transmitted power to the rear wheels. According to its Ferrari Classiche “Red Book”, this Daytona Spider, chassis number 16689, was delivered during August 1973. As noted by marque expert Marcel Massini, just 121 Daytona Spiders were produced by the factory, making it a rare model; this example is the 82nd made. Specified in the wonderful colour combination of Nocciola Metallizzato over Pelle Beige, this Ferrari would have been an astonishing sight on the streets of Ohio in 1973. Its first owner, Robert Lindner of Cincinnati, clearly had good taste, trading in a coupé adorned in identical colours. Ferrari didn’t produce a true replacement for the Daytona Spider, and its spiritual successor—the 550 Barchetta—wouldn’t arrive until 2000. Clearly enamoured, Lindner kept his Daytona Spider until 1991, by which time it had covered nearly 41,000 miles. At this time, it was imported into Germany. In the early 1990s, the Ferrari passed through the hands of two German dealers, one of whom commissioned a full restoration; during this process the odometer was reset to zero. In 1994, the car was purchased by a well-known collector, Dr. Wolf Zweifler, who enjoyed this Daytona Spider at many Ferrari events in the years that followed. After 17 years of ownership, Zweifler sold the car to the consigning owner. Wishing to return this Daytona Spider to its original colours, the owner commissioned marque expert and factory supplier, Carrozzeria Zanasi, to carry out a cosmetic restoration during 2013 and 2014—invoices and photos detailing the work are on file. Once this Ferrari was returned to its spectacular original specification of Nocciola Metallizzato over Pelle Beige, it was submitted to Ferrari Classiche and subsequently awarded Red Book certification in 2016, with the factory confirming that it retains its matching-numbers engine. Finished in one of the most wonderful colours offered by Ferrari, this Daytona Spider offers its next owner the opportunity to fully enjoy the sonorous roar of one of Ferrari’s greatest ever V-12s, all while participating in concours and Ferrari events all around the world. 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1966 Porsche 914
First registration 12.1966 Matching numbers and color Porsche Certificate of Authenticity 48 years in the first ownership of Howard Shoemaker Swiss road registration with veteran entry The Porsche 911 Coupé offered here was delivered by Porsche Cars America in November 1966, in the color Polo Red and black leatherette, to the famous cartoonist Howard Shoemaker from Omaha, Nebraska. Howard Shoemaker worked for Porsche USA and Playboy, among others, in the 1960s. His Porsche cartoons were much appreciated in Stuttgart. The booklet with Shoemaker cartoons that Porsche published for its customers in 1964 is a rare and sought-after item today (an original is included with the car). Cartoons by Howard Shoemaker were also published in various issues of the Porsche Christophorus magazine. Shoemaker covered a total of 55,000 miles in his 911 before he parked it in his garage in the early 1980s and only finally parted with the car in 2014, after almost 48 years of ownership. It found a new owner and enthusiast in the UK, who gave the coupé a complete restoration. About a year ago, this beautiful Porsche 911 Coupé was imported to Switzerland and is, fresh from a major service and MOT veteran, in excellent and well-maintained collector’s condition. It is matching numbers and color and very well documented via a copy of the Kardex with all the facts of the first delivery, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the original US title and many other documents. The Porsche 911, also known as the nine-eleven for short, is the Stuttgart-based company’s best-known sports car and is regarded as the epitome of the brand. Body variants are the Coupé, the Cabriolet and the Targa. In the past, the Porsche 911 was successfully used as a racing car in the World Sports Car Championship and the German Racing Championship. The first 911 version built in series from September 1964 was the so-called original model presented at the IAA 1963 with a 130 hp 2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine. Even when stationary, this 911 is a homage to the original, the clarity of the mechanics and the art of omission. 1966 Porsche 911 Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1961 Fiat-OSCA 1500S Spider
This Fiat-OSCA 1500S features ‘baby Ferrari’ styling by Pinin Farina and is powered by an engine from the Maserati brothers’ OSCA concern, and therefore combines the best of Italian design and engineering. Fully restored between 2013 and 2015, it is now in immaculate condition throughout. In 2020, it was a class runner-up at the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance – one of the most prestigious such events in the world. The Production Record Trace Certificate shows that chassis number 118S-16042 was built in October 1961 and delivered new to its first owner in France via Simca in Paris. At the time, Fiat was still the major shareholder in Simca and the two companies shared a distribution network. The Fiat-OSCA stayed in France for the next 11 years before being sold to a new owner in California. They would end up keeping it for more than 40 years, and after it had been treated to a meticulous nut-and-bolt rebuild, it was offered for sale at the Gooding & Co auction at Pebble Beach in 2015. It was acquired by a UK-based enthusiast and imported across the Atlantic, and is thought to be one of fewer than 10 Type 118 Fiat-OSCA 1500S Spiders in the country. Now being offered for sale by The Classic Motor Hub, it is presented in concours condition and is beautifully sorted. Stylish, rare and with the combined talents of Pinin Farina, OSCA and Fiat behind it, this little 1500S Spider is one of the finest remaining examples in the world. It has an impressive history file, plus a workshop manual and original instruction book, and offers the sort of effortlessly chic open-top motoring in which Italian marques specialised during the 1950s and 1960s. MODEL HISTORY At the end of the 1950s, Fiat had a pressing need to replace its slightly awkward-looking 1200 Spider. The answer came with a sharply styled new model that was penned by Pinin Farina (the company was rebranded as the single-word Pininfarina in 1961), and to go with the fresh look it was decided to offer a more sporting engine. After leaving their eponymous car-making business, the Maserati brothers had founded OSCA in 1947 and achieved considerable success in motor racing. Stirling Moss and Bill Lloyd won the 1954 Sebring 12 Hours at the wheel of an OSCA MT4, while an 1100 Coupé won its class at Le Mans in 1953. Fiat therefore did a deal with OSCA to build its 1491cc twin-cam ‘four’ under licence, the engine reputedly being prepared for use in a production road car by none other than former Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi. Breathing through a single twin-choke Weber carburettor, it gave the 1500S a top speed in excess of 100mph. That competition-derived engine meant that the Fiat-OSCA 1500S was a cut above the standard 1500, and it would be built in much smaller numbers. When The Autocar tested one in December 1959, it noted that ‘the body is very rigid, free from any shakes or tremors’ and that ‘at speed the car is quiet and completely draught-proof’. Its sporting character was not lost on them, either: ‘Throughout its range, the engine is very smooth… the rev counter has a red band between 6500 and 7500rpm and the lower limit was reached regularly in the intermediate gears’. After finding a suitable stretch of road, the testers wound the engine up to 6500rpm in top gear, which equated to 105mph. Of the gearbox, it noted that ‘synchromesh is provided on the upper three ratios of the four-speed box and the change is quick, with relatively short movements.’ Disc brakes replaced the original drums early in the car’s production run, and in 1962 the OSCA engine was bored out to 1568cc – the upgrade leading to it being renamed as the 1600S. The front end was later altered, with extra spotlamps and a revised grille, before the model was replaced in 1966 by the new Fiat 124. 1961 Fiat-OSCA 1500S Spider The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 'GTA' Replica
SUMMARY An outstanding and well-known GTA Replica built to FIA/HTP 'Appendix K' regulations, with previous outings in Tour Auto amongst others and eligible for numerous race series. DESCRIPTION The successor to the successful Giulietta range was unveiled in 1962 with the launch of the Giulia Series 105 with various models to follow, including the GTA, which arrived in 1965 as the official competition version of the Giulia Sprint GT. Produced in both road and race variants, the GTA went on to become an iconic touring car of the day, no doubt down to the lightweight ‘Alleggerita’ styling and the excellent twin-cam 1,570cc four-cylinder engine which was extensively modified specifically for the GTA, bringing about outstanding results over the following years, the most notable of which were consecutive victories in the 1966-68 European Touring Car Championship, no mean feat once never mind three times on the trot. This particular ‘GTA’ replica, chassis number #AR752501, was discovered in Italy in the mid-1990s where it was road-registered by Irma Zanella in 1997 as shown by the Italian registration documents that are included within the comprehensive history file. It should also be noted at this point that there is another GTA that bears the same chassis number. In 1998, ownership passed to Cees Van Haver in the Netherlands before it joined the extensive collection of Sir Anthony Bamford. First registered in the UK in 2007, it later passed through the hands of Historic Racing guru, Willie Green, before being sold to Michael Sexton and Paul Halford, in whose hands it completed the 2009 Tour Auto. FIA/HTP papers were first issued in 2016, enabling this very appealing Alfa to take to the circuit, competing initially in HSCC and Equipe events. Purchased by the current custodian in 2018, it was mechanically overhauled and checked over by Ian Gwynne of BGM prior to his participation within the CSCC and HRDC race series being checked over and maintained during races as one would expect. Current specification includes the Furani built engine, gearbox and final drive with recent dyno set up showing 170bhp. Professionally stored and maintained since 2020, and remaining in outstanding condition throughout, an element of minor recommissioning may be required depending on what the next custodian may have in mind for this rare and desirable Alfa Romeo. Offered at a fraction of the cost of a genuine GTA, and eligible for some of the most competitive historic race series, this beautifully presented Alfa comes complete with current FIA/HTP papers and could provide an entry into some of the most prestigious events on the Historic Motorsport calendar. 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 'GTA' Replica Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1957 Jaguar XK150 DHC
The story behind this collectible... The Jaguar XK150. The successor to the XK120 and XK140. The type name referred to the top speed of the cars in miles per hour. In reality, the 150 just missed that mark, but at the time it was one of the the fastest production cars. That disappointment was the end of it, because they are beautiful cars! The 150 can be distinguished from its predecessors by its curved windshield, which instead of a split window, consists of one whole. The grill in the nose also became slightly wider and the windshield was pushed back slightly moved, making the nose appear a little longer. Our XK150 was completely nut and bolt restored in 2002, leaving the car in absolute top condition again. The interior is a Suffolk & Turley interior and comes from MC Interiors in England. The deep black paint color matches beautifully with the dark walnut wood and white-beige interior with black trim. The hood is white-beige on the outside, but also on the inside, which gives a spacious feeling when closed. In addition to the optically beautiful condition, the necessary overhauls and modifications have been made to make the XK150 even more of a to make a real driver's car. The engine and Getrag five-speed gearbox are complete overhauled. The Getrag gearbox ensures that the Jag also drives very comfortably on the highway. In addition, the Jag is equipped with an Aston Martin/Jaguar power steering, better braking (four-pot brakes at the front, claws at the back) and the electrical part has been converted to 12 volts with an alternating current dynamo. In short; an ultimate gentleman sportscar that is ready for many enjoyable kilometers! 1957 Jaguar XK150 DHC Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The story behind this collectible... - 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale Evo1 Martini 5
Unequivocally among the greatest rally cars of all time, the Lancia Delta won the World Rally Championship no fewer than six times, a feat no other car equalled before or since. After a series of fatal accidents highlighted the dangers of the legendary and largely unrestricted Group B cars, the FIA replaced it with Group A, which proved to be a much safer formula. Lancia just happened to have a car that was ideally suited to the new rules in their Delta HF 4WD, which began winning immediately. From there, they hastily developed the HF 4WD into the Integrale, creating an icon in the process, one which won every year from 1987 to 1992. Group A rules required 5,000 roadgoing examples to be built, and enthusiasts were happy to buy them. The Integrale was continuously developed to remain competitive in racing, and these improvements made their way into the road cars as well. 4 valve heads were introduced in 1989, and then two Evoluzione versions followed after that. The Evo I and Evo II versions were similar, although the II gained a catalyzed engine. In 1992, Lancia released the Martini 5 limited edition of 400 cars to celebrate the car’s 5th world championship, expecting it would be their last, only to be surprised when the car won a 6th world championship in the hands of privateers later that year. This particular Integrale is likely the only California titled and registered example in existence, having recently completed the long and arduous BAR certification process. Aside from this extraordinary characteristic, the car is an exceedingly nice example, having covered just 21,000 kilometers from new. The car was originally sold in Japan and comes with documentation from its life there, before being exported to Spain and then the United States, where it arrived in 2019. Since then, it has been serviced, including new shock absorbers, shift bushings, oil change, alignment, and a few other jobs. The car currently sits on 16 inch wheels and the original 15 inch wheels are included with it. Also present with the car are considerable documentation, tools, jack, and car cover. 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale Evo1 Martini 5 ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988 BMW M3 (E30) Evo II
Unveiled at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, the M3 was the latest creation from BMW’s legendary Motorsport division, a focused small performance saloon built to homologate the E30 3-Series for the European Touring Car Championship. Using what was essentially the 24-valve head from the M-Sport straight-six – minus two cylinders – mated to the block of the four-cylinder M10 engine, the M3’s engine developed an impressive 195 bhp from 2.3-litres. Throw in a Getrag close-ratio, five-speed gearbox, firmer suspension and additional downforce from the aerodynamic aids and you have a car that rewards the driver in the best race bred tradition. The discreet front air dam, rear spoiler, flared guards, and fatter rubber sitting on wider, unique alloy wheels helped set the M3 apart from the ordinary 3-Series – indeed, the entire body was unique to the M-Sport version apart from the bonnet, roof panel, sunroof and doors. To homologate further updates, BMW released the Evolution II version of the road-going M3 in 1987, incorporating upgrades to the engine (new high-compression pistons, lightened flywheel and a remapped management system boosting power to 220bhp) along with improvements to the chassis and suspension. Boasting a deeper front air-dam and an additional boot lid spoiler, just 500 numbered examples were produced. Regarded as one of the greatest drivers’ cars of the era, the E30 M3 enjoyed a fabulous motorsport career and, thanks to its motorsport heritage and place in M-Sport history, original E30 M3s have seen a stratospheric increase in value over the past decade, the best examples being eagerly snapped up by enthusiasts and collectors around the world. Delivered new to Europe, and living the majority of its life in France, this matching numbers Evo II was imported to the UK in 2019 and shows no former UK keepers. Finished in its original colour scheme of Macao Blue metallic over a Silver Uberkaro cloth interior, the car presents exceptionally well. We understand that it was repainted and recommissioned around 2007-2009 with the respray and maintenance work clearly being conducted to a very high standard. Within the history file, there is a good selection of bills from its time in France, Original Service/Dealer Directory, Owners Handbook, Owners Manual (in French), and Service Book sporadically stamped up to 166,670km. There are 3 Autovision technical inspection reports that were conducted in 2007, 2009 and 2011, with the mileage in 2011 being recorded at 176,670km showing the car to have covered less than 600km in the last 11 years, now displaying 177,256km. A delightfully original car with the only modifications being a stainless-steel exhaust system and a new head unit. With many E30 M3s being rightfully used as daily drivers back in the day, it's rare to find such an example with reasonable mileage, in such fabulous condition and with a very desirable specification. We welcome and encourage your inspection of this lovely M3. 1988 BMW M3 (E30) Evo II Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
