  • 1970 Ferrari 365 GTC

The 330 GTC was replaced in 1968 by the superior 365 GTC. The styling remaining almost the same with differences being limited to non-vented front wings and the addition of new vents on the bonnet. The engine was, of course, an enlarged 4.4 Litre engine boasting more torque and horsepower. This vastly improved the performance of the car. The 365 GTC retained the independent rear suspension employing coil springs and wishbones, the same of its immediate predecessor, though this was a relatively recent departure for Ferrari. Brakes and transmission were also substantially improved to match the upgraded motor. Stopping power came from servo-assisted disc brakes all-round with a split circuit system. Integrating the gearbox with the final drive gave the car a balanced 50:50 weight distribution. A 365 GTC is a super rare and highly desirable beast with just 150 examples being built (including 22 UK RHD supplied examples) between the 1968 and 1970 with an on the road price when new of £7,900 (£1,384 more than the outgoing 275 GTB/4). First ordered by Maranello Concessionaires as a demonstrator for their UK dealership in 1970, this example is one of just 22 cars to be supplied new in RHD to the UK. Deviating from the usual specification of light blue for their demonstrators, this 365 GTC was ordered new in the rare period hue of Grigio Mahmoud, a dark grey with undertones of blue. A colour so good in fact, it would result in the car being chosen for the front cover of Autocar’s road test booklet! The history of this 365 GTC is known and documented from new. The impressive history file chronicles work carried out by each of the car’s owners, the mileage covered, and its registration numbers through time. The highlight of this detailed history is surely it’s comprehensively illustrated, concours-level, bare metal restoration by DK Engineering. This example found home with its first owner on 22nd May 1970, Mr D. Baigler of Wells Street, London. His ownership would see the car receive service work on no fewer than five documented occasions, intermittently throughout his 7 year and 17,500 mile ownership. The car would change hands in August of 1977, finding residence with Mr Paul Alexander, a close friend of DK's founder David Cottingham as well as a prominent collector and racer. He applied his personal registration mark to the car ‘PJN 1’ Over the course of the next 10 years, he would cover just under 20,000 miles with the car, servicing handled by various Ferrari specialists, including DK Engineering in its earliest years, who rebuilt the differential in 1980. 7 years later, Alexander transferred the car to his wife’s name for two years, covering an additional 1,100 miles or so and re-registering the car ‘PA 222’. By this time, the car had been refinished in Rosso retaining its Nero interior. During her custodianship, the car shared a garage with the ex-Lord Hesketh Porsche 911 3.0 RS! Succeeding this, the car once more passed into the very capable care of Mr Lentin, who at the time also owned a 340 America Vignale. Lentin would keep the car for 4 years and use the car sparingly, covering just 1,700 miles. In 1993, this 365 GTC was purchased by Mr Lochlann Quinn of Dublin who would own the car for 20 years. The car was purchased from Nicolas Mee and would be used frequently before resting up for a couple of years. In 2007, Bob Houghton tidied up the car cosmetically, re-chroming all 51 elements of the trim, as well as refinishing the car in a Grigio hue. In 2012, the car received its Ferrari red book Classiche certification which accompanies the history folio and original book pack today. The car was then purchased by DK's owner and founder David Cottingham in 2013, at which point he instigated a bare metal restoration with the business, creating arguably the finest 365 GTC extant. The merits of owning and founding a business with restoration so close to its heart, this 365 GTC received a degree of attention to detail and quality that was, and still is, unheard of on a GTC. The retail value of the work was in excess of £400,000. No stone was left unturned during the restoration, and we comprehensively documented the process. The car was stripped to bare metal, at which point we were able to find a sample of the car's original colour - which enabled us to repaint the car to exactly the correct shade. Following its restoration, David parted ways with the car to fund the ever-growing DK premises – only to buy the car back just one year later. David kept the car for three further years until selling to a close friend in 2020. David Cottingham jumped at the opportunity to own the car once more, as an example we have now known for 43 years! The history file is with the car and documents the history with invoices and photographs, as well as a copy of the ‘Autocar’ Roadtests booklet, the edition which this very 365 GTC features on the front cover. This car is also accompanied by its Ferrari red book Classiche Certification and original book pack. Having covered just 500 miles since restoration, this fabulous 365 GTC is available to view at our showrooms outside London by appointment. 1970 Ferrari 365 GTC D.K. • 1963 BMW 3200 CS by Bertone

When BMW unveiled the 3200 CS in 1961, it marked the end of an era. It was the final model powered by the 3,168-cc overhead-valve V-8, and the CS drew much of its DNA from the “Baroque Angel” BMWs of the 1950s. Yet with crisp Italian lines by Bertone’s rising star Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car also pointed to the future. The airy glasshouse, shark nose, and “Hofmeister kink” in the C-pillar established a design language that still influences the Munich marque today. An expensive and exclusive GT for wealthy enthusiasts, the 160 horsepower 200 km/h coupé sold in tiny numbers. During a three-year production run from 1962 to 1965, just 603 of these special Bertone-bodied four-seaters were produced; a mere 132 left the factory in 1963. The example offered here was first distributed in October 1963 via the Hamburg-based dealer, Fendler & Ludenmann, and remained in the German city with its first owner. The BMW stayed in Germany until 2008, when it was taken to Finland to join The Munich Masterpieces Collection. At an unknown point, the car’s engine has been replaced, while documents on file suggest that the odometer has also been changed. The 3200 CS is offered with its period Kraftfahrzeugbrief registration document from early German ownership. 1963 BMW 3200 CS by Bertone RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. From the oil cooler and hood scoop to the roll bar and fender flares, this car is all about performance. Power comes from a 427ci Shelby aluminum-block V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The engine was dyno’d and produced 514 LB-FT Torque and 507 H.P. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The Lancia Flaminia was launched at the 1956 Turin Motor Show as a direct replacement for the hugely successful Aurelia. Utilising a similar layout to the Aurelia with a rear transaxle gearbox and in-board brakes the Falminia was powered by a 2.5 litre V6 engine with a standard Solex carburettor. The Flaminia Coupe and Convertibles were Aluminium coach-built cars with their bodies being built by several Italian coachbuilders including Touring of Milan. A total of 1,550 Coupes were built, the 2.5 GT Coupes were built between 1957-1965 making them highly desirable. Other upgrades included fitting triple Weber 35DNC carburettors which boasted a power output of 140 bhp which propelled the car to a top speed of 130mph. The Lancia Flaminia GT 3C Coupe offered here at Autostorico was delivered on 16th February 1962 by Carozzeria Touring of Milan. Finished in Lord Blue with Burnt Orange leather interior this striking triple carburettor model was purchased in 2016 by its current owner in need of restoration. He undertook a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration which was carried out by the well-known and respected classic car specialist Adam Redding. Works included removing the engine and gearbox and stripping the whole body, before a bare metal respray was carried out. The car was also subject to a full mechanical overhaul including engine, gearbox, and suspension rebuild. Other notable works included overhauling the braking system, re-wire and interior re-trim. Supplied with a current V5 registration document and Lancia factory documentation confirming specification, various invoices and other related documentary history. This is a perfect opportunity to own a very sought-after Lancia Flaminia GT 3C Coupe, that is a joy to drive and will only appreciate further over time. Viewing strictly by appointment only. • 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera RS Touring

Whilst the UK would receive 110 examples of Porsche’s 2.7 RS from the 1580 strong production, few can lay claim to the merits of this example. One of the first 500, thoroughly original having benefitted from years of sympathetic maintenance, and the sole RHD example in Jade Green. This example also benefits from being a fully matching numbers example. Completed on 18th January 1973, this example would receive its UK registration just shy of a Month later on 16th February. The first 500 cars standout for their specification-weight thinner gauge steel ensuring they tipped the scales a homologated 975kg in M471 guise or just 1,075kg in Touring specification with all of the luxuries of a 2.4 S added in. Whilst the 2.7 RS was offered in an array of flamboyant 70s colours, it will perhaps be of little surprise that Grand Prix White with blue, green or red script, or without script accounts for 457 cars in total. Light yellow places second with a not inconsiderable 296 examples ordered from new. After Tangerine with 126 example, the number-by-colour tails off quite significantly. The 1973 palette offered buyers a choice of 30 colours, of which 28 were optioned. Just 11 cars would be optioned in Jade Green from the total 1,580 examples produced. Of the 30 available shades, Jade Green was the 6th rarest colour. This example, supplied new to an investment banker in London. This example was further equipped with a limited slip differential, sports seats with black corduroy inserts and headrests, electric windows and for convenience, a heated rear screen and driver side mirror. This example passed through two owners (Mr Morgan and Mr Grob) in quick succession when new before purchase by Mr Cowley in 1975. Reserving his drives of the 2.7 RS for sunny days – as outlined in the letter at the time of sale – Cowley would cover around 6,000 miles each year, including driving the car into London where it proved to be quite the run around. Servicing was meticulous and was carried out by Charles Ivey of Surbiton. With his use of the car decreasing, the car was treated to some restorative works under the supervision of Ivey; a decision that would go on to support the purchased by the next owner in 1993. Cowley parted ways with the 2.7 RS after 18 years of ownership. The car was purchased by Sytner Classics and is understood to have been intended for use by Frank Sytner himself. Sytner however had just purchased a RHD 3.0 RS which he preferred and the 2.7 RS was advertised for sale. Mark Waring of Surrey took Fred Hampton of the Porsche Club GB along to see the car in Northampton in 1993. Fearful of recent paintwork, Waring had be dubious at first but his correspondence with Charles Ivey and the support of originality from Hampton saw the car change hands. Waring would care and enjoy the car for 7 years. During the first few years of his ownership the car would see annual action on track, and then the car’s purpose shifted to that of a grand tourer. Attending Porsche shows in the UK and Germany, the 2.7 RS would see less and less use with Waring instead focussing on the cosmetic improvement of the car. Sold to its most recent long term custodian in the millennium year, this RS has covered fewer than 6,500 miles in the 23 years since. Treated to a particularly sensitive glass-out restoration, this 2.7 RS retains much of its originality and charm. Testament to its originality, the original ‘orange’ Porsche badge remains, a crest that changed to red during the production run. Purchased by the current owner just over a year ago, the 2.7 RS has just received a fresh service in our workshops. With a recent addition to their motoring stable, this 2.7 RS is becoming available for the second time in 31 years. Currently residing within our care at DK Engineering, if you are looking for an unrepeatable first 500 2.7 RS, you will have to act fast! 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera RS Touring D.K. It was the first model created after Alejandro de Tomaso took over the company. With it, Maserati continued the tradition of sporty luxury sedans. From the summer of 1986 it was given the name “Maserati Royale” because, in addition to the era of a Maserati biturbo, it retained the classic eight-cylinder engine. The 4.9 liter V8 engine achieved speeds of around 220 km/h. Only 2.025 cars of this model were ever made during its production period. The Maserati Quattroporte III offered here was used privately by a Hamburg specialist for Italian sports cars and was regularly maintained by him. The Maserati was imported from Japan about 10 years ago. It is rare to find a vehicle of this series in a largely untouched original condition with a mileage of just 81,000 km. • 1951-abarth-simca-8-sport-cabriolet-by-stabilimenti-farina

Students of the coachbuilt automobile know that a design, if it was a good one, was frequently adapted by an enterprising carrozzeria to fit a range of chassis. So it was with this post-war cabriolet style by Stabilimenti Farina. With a very pretty, very modern, “envelope” body expertly rendered in a mix of steel and aluminum, the basic impression was quite like that of the award-winning Cisitalia 202—created, of course, by Giovanni Carlo Farina’s brother Battista, founder of Pininfarina. Underpinnings from Siata to Ferrari served as blank canvases for versions of this Stabilimenti Farina offering, but none are more interesting than the Abarth-Simca 8 Sport Cabriolet offered here. A unique creation in many respects, this 8 Sport Cabriolet was made specifically for Roger Barlow. A colorful, California-based sportsman, author, and racer, Barlow was the proprietor of Hollywood’s International Motors sports car dealership, which counted Bing Crosby and Clark Gable among its clientele. He was also a great champion of France’s Simca brand in the United States and abroad, but while Barlow’s three race-prepped “little blue Simcas” challenged all comers on the circuit—often successfully—he needed something a little more comfortable for off-track transportation. A Simca 8 (effectively a French-built Fiat 1100) chassis served as the starting point, though the humble 1,221-cubic-centimeter engine would hardly be suitable for a racing driver…and an American one at that. Legendary Italian tuning firm Abarth supplied a modified head and an exhaust, but it was a S.Co.T (Supercharger Company of Turin) blower, paired with a substantial Weber carburetor, that really upped the ante, increasing output to an estimated 90-100 horsepower. Stabilimenti Farina’s bodywork was equally unique, incorporating special aluminum bumpers, a trio of Cisitalia-esque vents on each fender, and a functional hood scoop like that on the Farina-bodied Ferrari 166 Inter Cabriolet. “Extra Lusso” badging emphasized this car’s nature as a comfortable, if spirited, luxury tourer, rather than a bare-bones racer. Barlow would retain his coachbuilt cabriolet until his death in 1990, after which it was stored by his daughter in Connecticut. Restored in the mid-2010s with a two-tone finish over a red interior, the car was acquired by Sam and Emily Mann in 2015, and soon benefitted from a repaint in its present dark blue. Mr. Mann notes that this cabriolet is “fast and pleasant to drive,” with four-wheel hydraulic brakes and independent front suspension affording a degree of confidence on spirited jaunts. With French underpinnings courtesy of Simca, and delightful bodywork and a punchy little engine via Italy’s Stabilimenti Farina and Abarth, this truly is a fascinating car built for a fascinating character. Roger Barlow’s one-of-a-kind Abarth-Simca would be a beautiful addition to a curated collection of a sports cars, and an eager companion on any number of tours and rallies. 1951 Abarth Simca 8 Sport Cabriolet by Stabilimenti Farina RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV

This 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV is finished in the unique color scheme of Paris Blue over a light blue leather interior and shows 70,514 km at the time of cataloging. This Diablo was delivered new in October of 1998 at the Lamborghini factory in Sant Agata Bolognese and comes with its original stamped service booklet. The yellow “SV” graphics down the side of the car immediately tip you off to what variant of Diablo this is. Still, the discerning enthusiast will also be able to pick up on a few other visual cues. The twin roof scoops emerging from the engine bay and the front fender top vents are both elements taken from the ultra-limited SE30 but are done differently on the SV. Additionally, a unique set of OZ Racing 5-spoke multi-piece wheels with black centers are an SV signature item. This car is from the Diablo’s first facelift, where Lamborghini swapped out the pop-up headlamps for a set of fixed glass lenses that improved lighting and aerodynamics while driving at night. The visual impact of this car in its bright blue with the scrawled SV graphic along the side makes it, without a doubt one of the most attention-grabbing cars on the road, even 25 years after its production. The interior of this Diablo is equally as eye-catching as the exterior, with bright blue leather covering the seats, center console, and dashboard. A 4-spoke airbag steering wheel sits in front of the driver and frames a simple set of white-on-black gauges, with a speedometer that goes all the way to 360 km/h. In the center stack sits an original Alpine “3D Shuttle” stereo head unit, a top of the line unit when this car was new, with a 3 disc changer in dash. Additionally, a digital climate control system is fitted as well as a button set with numbers 1-4, that is there to adjust the firmness of the suspension. Powering the Diablo is a 5.7-liter V12, a heavily revised version of the V12 found in all of Lamborghini’s previous V12-powered cars. Although this engine produced 485 horsepower in VT form, for the SV, that figure grew to 530 horsepower, which was sent through a 5-speed gated “Dog leg” manual gearbox to the rear wheels. In SV guise, the Diablo is capable of 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and tops out in excess of 328 km/h. The Diablo SV is a car for the true driving enthusiast- with so much power going to just the rear wheels, it became well known for its tail-happy antics and having difficulty putting all the power down on anything but the perfect road surface. That being said, few cars can provide the same sort of thrills for those who enjoy excitement in their drive. Notably, the Diablo was the final V12-powered car from Lamborghini to be available as rear-wheel drive, and the final produced exclusively with a manual gearbox. In recent years, collectors have begun to appreciate Lamborghini as the ultimate in Italian supercar excess, and prices have begun to skyrocket. Outside of the ultra-limited production variants like the SE30 and Diablo GT, the Diablo SV represents the pinnacle of driving excitement from the Diablo range, and values are only just beginning to catch up. If the idea of a limited-production V12 Italian supercar with a manual transmission appeals to you, look no further. 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
