  • 1963 Dino 308 GT4

We actually fought for this gorgeous guy for over a year until we were able to take it over from its now quirky, only previous owner in Piedmont. The good man had had a villa built in the countryside - probably due to low property prices - and put his Ferrari in the garage in order to then employ the landscape gardener with the planting. When we finally wanted to take over the Ferrari many years later, it took careful planning and the appropriate equipment on our part to free the car from its golden cage after hours of work. After extensive work to bring it back into service, we present you with one of the few specimens of this model, most of which has its first paintwork, its first interior, its first carpet ... we are firmly convinced - to find a better preserved, almost completely original Dino 308, becomes almost impossible. A few hundred kilometers have now been driven with it to check all its functions and thus ensure that the next owner can continue to enjoy a Ferrari that is almost 50 years old as much as possible. We would be happy to invite anyone who is interested to visit us and we are pleased to present you with one of the last representatives of its kind, which was lucky enough to spend a large part of its past decades safely in a dry garage. Its slumber was ended by one of the most capable Ferrari workshops and can be documented in the form of all available invoices. The Dino is therefore in the best of company in our selection of exceptional automobiles and is already looking forward to its new home. 1963 Dino 308 GT4 DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4

One of the rarest Ferrari models ever produced, particularly in right-hand drive, the 365 GTC/4 was developed to meet the ever-growing demand among Ferrari's clientele for high-performance Grand Tourers with space for four passengers. It was introduced in March 1971 to replace the 365 GTC, which had been phased out two years earlier. The chassis of the 365 GTC/4 was essentially that of the 365 GTB Daytona, albeit stretched an additional 100 millimetres for extra cabin room, and Pininfarina's newly introduced wind tunnel obviously played a part in the car's sinuous and streamlined shape with no panels shared with other models in the range. The bodywork was steel with aluminium doors and motivation was courtesy of the Daytona's 4.4-litre DOHC V12, slightly softened to produce 340bhp, and fuelled by side-draft, twin-choke Webers allowing a lower bonnet line. Weight distribution was almost perfect at 51:49 thanks to the five-speed gearbox and alloy bell-housing being set well back in the chassis. Around 500 examples were built over an eighteen-month period and, according to online sources, some 41 365 GTC/4s were produced in right-hand drive, with only 31 of those being destined for British shores. • 1963 Aston Martin DB5 Convertible

Beautifully presented in Midnight Blue, this Aston Martin DB5 Convertible has benefitted from an extensive programme of works carried out by Aston Workshop and Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell. Chassis number DB5C/1269/R was sold new to a Mr Roy James McAuliffe and was specified with the Borg Warner automatic gearbox – one of only 59 DB5 Convertibles to be so equipped. In 1978, the car was acquired by the Hitchins family of Cheltenham who would own the car for the next 34 years before selling to the current owner. Since being acquired by the present owner it can truly be said that no expense has been spared to restore the car. In 2012 chassis 1269R was sent to the Aston Workshop in Beamish County Durham where a comprehensive programme of works was commissioned to mechanically restore the car. The engine was uprated with a new crankcase and crank to 4.7 litres, the original crankcase is with the car. In addition, the gearbox was converted to four-speed automatic for effortless distance cruising. Furthermore, the suspension was uprated and the braking system improved for better road holding and stopping performance. Electronic power steering was fitted to make the car enjoyable even at low speeds and when manoeuvring. In short, the entire drive train and running gear were comprehensively restored. At this time Inertia seat belts were also fitted and a Becker Indianapolis iPhone compatible stereo system was installed. Such was the extent of mechanical restoration that the car took over 18 months to be completed ready for the Holy Land tour in 2015. After a trouble-free tour, the car was delivered back to the factory it was made in some 50 years previously. Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell lavished a 2-year cosmetic restoration on the car in 2016. The invoices and detailed pictures are available in the history file and make for impressive reading. In total over a quarter of a million pounds was spent on taking the coachwork back to bare metal, the interior and hood were stripped and have been re-upholstered. Air conditioning was fitted and the exterior colour was changed to midnight blue metallic while the interior was beautifully retrimmed with Connolly fawn hide and corresponding ever-flex hood. In short, the car has had every conceivable expense bestowed upon it by leading Aston Martin restorers and now surpasses its original specification in terms of condition, performance and reliability. The huge amount of work that was carried out at Newport Pagnell is painstakingly recorded in the car’s history file, right down to the smallest nuts and bolts, with a photographic record detailing every stage. The invoices totalling almost £400,000 over nearly five years are testament to the quality of care and dedication that has been put in to this car to make it an exceptional example of the Aston Martin DB5 Convertible. Now being offered for sale at The Classic Motor Hub for only the second time in 45 years, this is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most stylish and desirable GT cars ever built. MODEL HISTORY Launched at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB5 was – visually, at least – largely indistinguishable from the outgoing DB4 Series 5. It retained that car’s Superleggera method of lightweight construction but there were numerous refinements and updates beneath the Touring-designed bodywork. Most significantly, Tadek Marek’s twin-cam, six-cylinder engine had been bored-out from 3670cc to 3995cc. A five-speed gearbox soon replaced the old four-speeder, and a Borg Warner automatic transmission was also offered. When Autocar tested a DB5 in September 1964, it recorded a top speed of 142mph and a 0-60mph time of 8.1 seconds. It also noted how easily and comfortably the DB5 would cruise at speeds in excess of 100mph and concluded that it ‘ranks in the very top bracket of the world’s high-performance cars.’ Motor magazine added that ‘the rack and pinion steering is very positive and precise… as with all good thoroughbreds, response is immediate and the car can be guided through fast corners with great accuracy.’ The majority of DB5s were coupés, but Aston Martin also built 123 Convertibles – the company didn’t use the Volante name until the soft-top DB6 was introduced. Torsional rigidity on the open model was improved by strengthening the sills and reinforcing the area under the rear seat pan, while the standard fuel tank was replaced by twin units, one inside each rear wing. The rear seat was slightly narrower than in the coupé because of the need to accommodate the hood mechanism, which was operated manually – there was no power assistance. A steel hardtop was available but rarely specified, and a tonneau cover was another optional extra. When the DB5 was replaced by the longer-wheelbase DB6 in 1965, Aston Martin had 37 Convertible bodies left over and built them up between October 1965 and October 1966 using many of the new model’s features. They were subsequently sold as DB6 Short Chassis Volantes. Although it was in production for only two years, the Aston Martin DB5 is one of the most instantly recognisable cars ever built thanks to its iconic role in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger, and its blend of Italian styling, British engineering and film-star charisma remains as alluring as ever. 1963 Aston Martin DB5 Convertible The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1970 Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9 by Ghia

When the Maserati Ghibli made its debut in 1966, rivals from Ferrari and Lamborghini suddenly looked to be left behind by the sleek coupé’s impressive styling. An aggressively angular wedge styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Modena’s new flagship was no less dramatic under the skin. Boasting a 306 horsepower, quad-cam, 4,719-cc dry-sump V-8, the Ghibli was breathtakingly fast—yet in 1969 Maserati upped the ante. Badged as the Ghibli SS, the revised Tipo AM115/49 employed a 4,930-cc V-8. Developing 330 horsepower and huge reserves of torque, the 280 km/h coupé was Modena’s fastest production model yet—and a more-than-fitting concurrent to Ferrari’s Daytona. From a total of 1,170 fixed-head Ghiblis, only 425 are believed to have been to SS specification with the 4.9-litre engine. Chassis 1586 is one such machine. Finished in its original colours of Rosso Fuoco with black leather, it is recorded to have rolled off the assembly line on 6 October 1970. Originally delivered to northern Italy, more recently the Maserati has spent time in Belgium and Germany. Invoices show that €9,580 was invested in maintenance (including a complete exhaust) while in the ownership of The Curated Collection. This is a car for the Maserati enthusiast seeking one of the finest, best-equipped examples of one of the famed automaker’s greatest, most evocative creations. 1970 Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9 by Ghia RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright When the Maserati Ghibli made its debut in 1966, rivals from Ferrari and Lamborghini suddenly looked to be left behind by the sleek coupé’s impressive styling. • 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda

This lovely Pagoda, equipped with an automatic gearbox, was completed on the 13th of October 1970 and first registered in the USA on the 1st of March 1971. According to the vendor, in 2014 the cabriolet, with then 89’000 miles driven, was acquired from its first owner from New Mexico and in April 2017 sold again to the current owner. After importation into Switzerland, the SL was extensively adapted to current Swiss requirements towards the end of 2017. Amongst other things all water hoses were replaced, new dampers installed front and back, the a/c received an overhaul, a stainless-steel exhaust system was installed together with an electronic ignition system and four new white-wall tyres were fitted at the same time. Receipts exceeding 30’000 Francs for all the work are available and will be handed over with the car. Later, the cabriolet received a new Sonnenland soft top in its original colour and in 2022 the gearbox was overhauled by a German specialist. With now 94’900 miles driven and still in its original combination of blue metallic with blue leather and a blue soft top, the matching-number (engine and gearbox) example with its hardtop is in technically very good condition, shows age correct signs of use and comes with the last Veteran MOT completed in April 2018. 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo X180 1

In October 1987, the Esprit received its first revamp since its initial launch in 1976 and was given the project codename ‘X180’. This design was the work of Peter Stevens, who was also responsible for the styling of the Lotus Elan M100 and McLaren F1. Whilst it retained the basic creativity behind the original Giorgetto Giugiaro design, it featured rounder, smoother lines, which helped to reduce the drag coefficient to only 0.33. It was, in essence, a restyled bodyshell on an established, proven chassis and displayed ‘Turbo’ badges behind the line where the door shut. At the rear, there was an aerodynamically profiled under tray/spoiler to remove hot air from the engine compartment and cool the brakes. Mechanically, the X180 differed little from its predecessor, the Esprit Turbo HC, with its 2,174cc, 16-valve, double overhead cam, Lotus 910 engine, developing the same 215bhp, and 220ft/lbs of torque. One important change was the gearbox with the Citroen/Maserati 5-speed unit being replaced by that from the Renault Alpine GTA saloon, which provided slightly higher gear ratios. Other improvements, following a redesign of the interior, included increased headroom and legroom, and a wider footwell. With the higher gearing and low drag, it was slightly faster than the HC variant, and with a 0-60mph time of 5.4 seconds and a 0-100mph time of 13.3 seconds, it was actually faster than a Ferrari 328 GTB and Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2. The X180 was a financial success, with 1,058 Esprits being built in 1988, a figure that would never be repeated. The car presented here was built in April 1988 and was originally registered in St Helier, Jersey, where it resided until coming to the UK in 2011. Today, it remains just a two-owner (in total) example and is accompanied by a comprehensive service history which details the gearbox rebuild (at 52,000 miles in 2002) and the replacement of both alloy fuel tanks in 2005. In early 2022, the car was the recipient of over £15,000 worth of mechanical refurbishment, with corresponding invoices/receipts documenting the work carried out (see details below). Prior to this recent work, the car had covered only 6,000 miles since 2011, having been dry stored when not in use. This recent refurbishment included all the following: Upgraded full clutch kit, replacement exhaust manifold, reconditioned Turbo, performance wastegate, Plenum volume extender, upgraded radiator and three-cooling fan conversion, new oil cooler and hydraulic pipes, full silicon hose set, full set of refurbished brake callipers and pads, full carburettor overhaul with new mounts, all new heater hoses, new water pump, powder-coating of engine parts, new battery, new crank pulley, new spark plugs/full service kit, new timing belt/tensioner and ancillary belts installed, air horn, refurbished starter motor and alternator, new battery terminals, new ignition leads, new starter coil, new temperature-sender unit/pipework, new distributor cap, full engine cylinder head overhaul (including valve guides), engine painted, chassis cleaned and Buzzweld-treated, bottom of engine inspected (all bearings good), all electrical glitches sorted, interior cleaned, minor repairs completed and the exterior polished and touched-up These gorgeous Stevens-era Esprits are often overlooked in the world of Supercars, yet have the looks, sound, performance, and rarity of exotics being offered at five times today's guide price. In lovely condition, with 'driver's mileage' and in a very stylish colour combination, this cherished example would undoubtedly enhance the life of any enthusiast or collector alike. 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo X180 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ 1

The story behind this collectible... 'Designing a two-seat sports coupe for Alfa Romeo is arguably every designer's wet dream' The car was named simply SZ, harking back to the Sprint Zagato and Sport Zagato cars from Alfa's glory days. The SZ was an exciting collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Zagato that blossomed in the late 1980s. Their goal? To create an avant-garde, high-performance coupe that not only enchanted the roads, but also gave a fresh boost to the image of Alfa Romeo and Zagato. Born on the platform of the Alfa Romeo 75, but with a racing-inspired twist. Away with the traditional metal, instead: plastic. Coming out at a paltry 1,250 kg, plus specially designed Koni dampers, you could grow neck muscles with this as an All-Blacks fullback. Up front, the 3.0 Liter V6 Busso block got another fat shot of expresso and the chassis was borrowed from the Alfa 75 IMSA racer. Alfa Romeo came out with a limited edition of the Sprint Zagato. Only just over a thousand examples of this thoughtful and ingenious masterpiece. We have found one! An original Dutch delivered treasure, from a Dutch collector. After an engine overhaul 200 km ago, she has indicated top fitness for some challenging steering. Not afraid of a little muscle pain? Then come and visit us or ask all your questions online directly! 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The story behind this collectible... • 1970 Jensen Interceptor II 1

Jensen's C-V8 replacement debuted in 1966, reviving a name first employed in the 1950s. However, several of the firm's traditions were broken in that the design was outsourced to Carrozzeria Touring and the bodies made of steel, not fibreglass. Early shells were built in Italy by Vignale prior to production being established at Jensen's Kelvin Way plant in West Bromwich. Power came from a 6,276cc (383ci) Chrysler V8, driving through either a 4-speed manual or 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission to an LSD Salisbury rear axle. Specification included electric windows, reclining seats, wood-rim steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, electric clock and reversing lights. Production of the Interceptor II (occasionally called the MkII or Series II) commenced in October 1969 and lasted for two years. This particular car has a chassis prefix, #123, so was one of 694 right-hand drive UK-cars powered by the E-Series 383ci V8 generating around 330bhp. It was first registered in the spring of 1970 and supplied new to British actor, Robin Ellis, best known for playing the leading role in the BBC series, Poldark, based on the novels of Winston Graham. Purchased for just under £8,000 or the equivalent of £150,000 in todays money, the Jensen was a serious car for special customers. Several enthusiastic owners enjoyed the Jensen over the years until 2015 when the decision was made to completely restore it. The car's condition today is testament to the outstanding workmanship of the specialist team commissioned to complete the restoration and we understand that this glorious, long-legged GT performs as well as it looks. The provenance and history of the Jensen is supported by a large history file containing the factory pre-sale inspection documents and paperwork which confirms that its first owner, Robin Adair Ellis, took delivery of the car on 6th May 1970. Also within the file is a detailed account of the restoration with supporting documentation, the current V5C ready for transfer or export, old MOT Certificates, the Heritage Certificate and a wealth of invoices for care and maintenance over the years, with the most recent service carried out in January 2023. The car was purchased by our vendor last year and fitted with a new power steering set up. The intention was to commission Jensen International Automotive to upgrade the car with their full Corvette engine and running gear conversion, at a cost of some £200,000, however, having viewed and subsequently purchased one of the early Corvette-engined, upgraded JIA cars from us in November 2023, he thoroughly enjoys the car and plans to keep it, making this car surplus to his requirements. Finished in a lovely shade of very pale grey, the Jensen continues to attract all the right attention and as a well restored and very well-maintained example, should only require basic maintenance. A rare blend of Italian styling, an American engine and British craftsmanship, these big GTs are comfortable and relatively practical with rear seats and a decent boot. It's a beautiful British classic that will undoubtedly be the talking point at any classic car show or event and would be welcome anywhere. 1970 Jensen Interceptor II Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB 2

For the first time in Maranello’s history, Ferrari innovates by using fiberglass for the body of the legendary 308 GTB. Lighter by 150 kilos, more maneuverable and therefore more powerful, the 308 was the obvious choice for any racing driver before the model switched to a conventional metal body from 1977 onwards. Produced in just 808 examples, “la Vetroresina” is rare and very pleasant to drive, with the sound of the carbureted V8 dry sump and its characteristic single-exit exhaust. This chassis, number 20937 tipo F106 AB, is one of the last produced and was delivered on March 14, 1977 to Mr. Giovanni Zanoletti by the S.p.a Motor dealership in Bologna for 20,500,000 lire. Equipped with all the options of the time, including a rare air-conditioning system, larger front spoiler, electric windows and wider rims, the car remained in the same family for over 20 years. In 2000, the car was sent to Germany by Mr Stefan Stolle of Wesel, where it was restored by Wilhelm Lackmann, a Ferrari specialist in Bochum, and exported to the Czech Republic in 2008 through Osobni Automobil. On this occasion, the car will receive an extensive technical inspection by the Ferrari-Maserati Scuderia Praha dealership. In 2014, it arrived in Belgium, where its owner will maintain it without saving money at Gipimotor specialist Christophe Van Riet in Brussels until 2024, with a total of just 89070 kilometers on the odometer. Still maniacally preserved in its original paintwork for the most part, its interior, so beautiful in the first series, remains intact, still with its original car radio and instruction manual, order form, new vehicle purchase invoice, copies of all foreign roadworthiness certificates since 1977, warranty booklet, Ferrari service, jack, invoices, copies of technical inspections, virgin French roadworthiness test, approved value appraisal, European roadworthiness certificate. 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB Franco Lembo A.S.P Automobilia SARL If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
