The Ferrari 550 Maranello was introduced in 1996, marking a pivotal moment in the marque’s mod-ern era. Celebrated as one of Ferrari’s most significant Gran Turismo models, it marked the return to a front-engined layout, an architecture long favoured by “The Drake” for his earliest and most emblematic grand tourers. Styled by Pininfarina, the 550 Maranello’s design is iconic and enduring, widely regarded as one of the most elegant and harmonious Ferraris of the past two (now nearly three) decades. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V12 producing 485 hp, the model was offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox featuring the marque’s signature open-gated shifter. The interior is impeccably appointed, blending refined materials with a level of comfort that com-plements its unmistakably “Gran Turismo” character. Production concluded in 2002, bringing to a close an era that, for well-known reasons, will never re-turn. The example offered here presents in excellent overall condition. Its coachwork, finished in the leg-endary Rosso Corsa, is fully original and beautifully preserved. The interior is likewise superbly maintained, free from cosmetic flaws; the period-typical degrada-tion of the “soft-touch” surfaces—common to Maranello models of these years—has already been professionally addressed through a complete restoration performed with full respect for originality. Mechanically sound and consistently serviced at authorized Ferrari workshops, it benefits from a documented mileage of only 41,000 kilometers. Delivered new in Germany in 1997, the car has just been imported into Italy and is ready for regis-tration.
