The ‘Godfather’ of supercars Is any great Ferrari collection complete without an F40? The no-holds-barred twin-turbocharged supercar truly defined an era of excess. And we wouldn’t hesitate to say that no other Ferrari has wound up on quite so many teenagers’ bedroom walls as the F40. The mid-1980s was an exciting period of technological change. And at the Ferrari factory in Maranello, the ingegneri – still working under the rule of Il Commendatore himself – were fully embracing it. Nowhere is this more evident than the F40. Its bewinged razor-sharp Pininfarina-styled bodywork was largely crafted from newfangled carbon-fibre and Kevlar, their distinctive weaves partially visible through the thin scarlet paint. Its carbon-Kevlar monocoque, meanwhile, was bonded to the tubular steel chassis, resulting in an extremely strong and rigid structure. In addition to its show-stopping overall aesthetic, the plentiful and intricate origami-like cutouts, vents and ducts played a whole host of roles, from increasing downforce to force-feeding cool air to the insatiable turbocharged V8 engine. And how can be gloss over that legendary powerplant? It’s a turbocharged tour de force, whose high-revving and torque-laden shove sears itself in the minds of anyone fortunate enough to experience it. Yes, the F40 was – and perhaps remains – the Godfather of all supercars. Chassis number 88501 A European-specification ‘Cat Non-Adjust’ F40, chassis number 88501 left the Ferrari factory on 13 February 1991 destined for Jacques Swaters’ history-steeped Garage Francorchamps in Belgium. This F40’s first listed owner was a real estate and export company in Brussels, which exported the car to Japan. And it’s Japan where chassis number 88501 remained for 24 years, covering a mere A beautifully presented European-spec ‘Cat Non-Adjust’ F40, having covered a mere 8,913km from new kilometres passing through the hands of a small number of owners and making several public appearances including at the Forza Ferrari meeting at Suzuka. We returned this F40 to Europe for the first time in the summer of 2025, sending it straight to the official Ferrari service centre HR Owen in London for a major service. Having inspected the car, we can confirm the presence of all the correct numbers pertaining to this particular F40, including those on the body, wing and latches, as confirmed by Ferrari Classiche in Maranello. On the subject of Ferrari Classiche, we have begun the certification process. For such a low-mileage example, chassis number 88501 is in accordingly excellent cosmetic and beguilingly original condition, even retaining its ultra-rare factory Goodyear tyres (a new set of Pirelli tyres will accompany the car). Satisfyingly, this Ferrari retains its original factory tool kit, leather documents pouch, owner’s manuals, tyre compressor kit, spare key and F40 seat covers. 1991 Ferrari F40 ‘Cat Non-Adjust’ Girardo & Co. The story behind this collectible... - You don't buy transportation, you buy class and quality. - The Mercedes SL R107: sporty, light, but with the solid luxury that only our eastern neighbors understand. Introduced in 1971, the new SL was a grandiose sales success from the start. That was actually not so obvious. At the time, the car was more expensive than a Ferrari 246GT Dino and twice as expensive as the Jaguar E-type. Whereas the car depreciated significantly then, it has proved to be a good investment in recent years. As a classic, the car does great; a real value for money. At the Cool Classic Club, we love these cars because they tick so many boxes. A perfect 8-cylinder, beautiful chrome, a seventies interior design, plenty of space, and super-reliable technology. A modern driving experience while driving around in a seventies icon. Our example is a German delivered model. Owned by a powerful 3.5L V8 that will take you from A to B in style with any urgency. Not at all bad to make a detour. The gold metallic with black leather interior really shows this car off, especially with the soft top down. Before she came to us, she received a major service, allowing you to arrive at the Ligurian Sea over the Alps without any problems. Will you come try it out with us? - 1993 BMW 850 Ci
The BMW 8 Series of grand tourers were introduced during the 1980s, designed for potent performance and aimed at the high end of the motoring market. It is to Klaus Kapitza that we owe the outstanding aerodynamic body of the 850. The C in BMW 850 Ci stands for Coupé and indicates that the model is a two-door coupe body style but does not really differ from the previous 850i. The pop-up headlights are a hallmark of many iconic sports cars from that era. 30 years have passed and yet the charm is still at work… This 1993 BMW 850 Ci was first delivered in France and is now a cherished collector’s item in Belgium. Dressed in a captivating Calypso Red, the classic coupe stands out with its sleek lines and unmistakable presence. As shown on the pictures, the interior and the black leather of the seats are still in very good state. Powered by an impressive V12 engine, it has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, reflecting the care of its previous owners. With a six-speed manual gearbox and a relatively low mileage of just 128,000 km, it combines the thrill of driving with the assurance of reliability. User manual and service book are available. Among the equipment, you will find electric front and rear windows as well as electric front seats with position memory. The BMW 8 series remains a rare, desirable object that has just gained the oldtimer status. If you too fall in love with its unique line, its majestic V12 and its deep red, contact us. - 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda 1
The Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda. A place of worship for convertible fans. In the early 1960s, Mercedes boss Walter Hitzinger looked for a middle ground between the 300 SL Gullwing (slow flying) and the 190 SL, which was actually reserved for women with large sun hats. In 1963 they presented the W113, which was soon popularly called the "Pagoda", thanks to the shape of the hardtop that was supplied with it for the winter months. Now, almost 60 years later, an absolute cult. We completely agree! The chassis was a shortened chassis of the W111 S-class generation, an M180 straight-six that was actually a further developed aircraft engine. Extended nose, large Bakelite steering wheel, rear-wheel drive... Need we say more? Ours? A neat gray blue metallic on beige leather example that has been making happy kilometers in the Netherlands for 25 years. Equipped with air conditioning, Becker radio, a tracking system, cruise control and a stainless steel exhaust system from front to rear. Always maintained in the Netherlands by a well-known Mercedes-Benz specialist who has blessed this copy for its new adventure. 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1974-alfa-romeo-giulia-20l
ver since the Giulia arrived in the 1960s, it has been winning over anyone with a pulse and a soft spot for Italian engineering. Introduced in the 1960s, the Giulia quickly became known for combining elegant Italian design with genuinely engaging driving characteristics. This 1974 Giulia Super 2.0 turns the volume up a little. Under the bonnet sits Alfa's lively 2.0-litre twin-cam, paired with the desirable five-speed manual gearbox. It's an engine that loves to rev, a chassis that begs for corners and steering that somehow always knows where the fun is.And then there's the rally pedigree. This isn't a Giulia that has spent its life polishing chrome outside a café. It comes equipped with rally seats, uprated brakes, additional spotlights and a rear seat delete. In other words: less cappuccino, more Espresso.Better yet, it has the results to back it up, finishing in the Tulpenrallye. Originally delivered in Germany before making its way to the Netherlands, this Giulia has clearly been looked after. The body is remarkably solid, the paint presents well, and the original 2.0-litre engine is still exactly where Alfa intended it to be. The car has been well maintained and comes with extensive documentation.A lightweight Italian saloon. A glorious twin-cam. Five perfectly spaced gears. Rally credentials. And enough auxiliary lights to convince yourself every B-road is the Monte Carlo Rally. 1974 Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0L Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. One of just 430 Maserati Khamsins produced, this rare right-hand drive, Bertone-styled 4.9-litre V8 example is now running following recent engine work and is offered as a rewarding recommissioning opportunity. One of only 430 Khamsins produced between 1974 and 1982, Maserati's flagship grand tourer was styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and combined dramatic Italian design with a 4.9-litre quad-cam V8 and sophisticated Citroën-derived hydraulics This rare right-hand drive example, chassis AM 120 0313, was purchased at auction by our vendor last year, having previously formed part of a Collection since its acquisition at a UK auction in 1999 Recent work has included replacement of the head gaskets and skimming of the cylinder heads, and importantly the Maserati is now running. It had previously benefited from further recommissioning including attention to the carburettors, fuel system and cooling system, together with fresh engine oil, filter and a replacement battery Further recommissioning will be required before returning the car to regular road use. In particular, the footbrake is currently inoperative, although the handbrake is functioning, and interested parties are encouraged to inspect the car carefully prior to bidding The history file includes details and photographs of maintenance carried out in 2015, assorted parts invoices, its 1999 auction purchase invoice and a copy of an old, now-expired UK V5C showing the registration number 3200 KR. The car has also previously featured in Drive magazine UK taxes have been paid, however the Khamsin is not currently UK registered and it will be the responsibility of its next owner to register it with the DVLA A rare opportunity to recommission one of Maserati's most distinctive V8 grand tourers 1976 Maserati Khamsin Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The Maserati 3500 GT was presented in 1957 at the Geneva Motor Show as a coupé bodied by Touring. Its technical basis was the successful racing engine from the Maserati 350S in a more civilised, everyday-usable form. Later, Maserati presented the open-top version at the Turin Motor Show 1959 : a cabriolet designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by “Carrozzeria Vignale”. For more agile, sportier handling, this version received a shortened chassis. By the end of production in 1964, only 242 examples had been built. The car offered here was presented in 1961 at the Paris Motor Show in its present colour combination of Argento (silver) over black leather finish. From the factory, the car was additionally fitted with a hardtop. It was subsequently acquired by Monsieur Dupré (France) according to the surviving invoice, through the Maserati dealer Thepenier, Saint-Cloud (Paris). A few years ago the car underwent an extensive, well-documented restoration by renowned Maserati/Ferrari specialists. An exceptional Italian classic presents itself here with a significant history, an elaborate restoration and in the sought-after configuration with disc brakes, five-speed gearbox and a carburetor engine. 1962 Maserati 3500 GT Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The F355 was a comprehensively re-engineered evolution of the 348 and the first project of Ferrari’s then new CEO, Luca di Montezemolo. Reportedly, he owned a 348 and lost a traffic light drag race with a Volkswagen Golf GTI, so when he returned to Ferrari as CEO (he previously ran the company’s F1 program in the 1970s), his first item of business was to improve Ferrari’s mid-engined sports car, and thus the 355 project was born. The heart of the 355 is the engine, a masterpiece of natural aspiration, with a 107hp per liter specific output thanks to quad cams, five valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods, dry sump lubrication, an 8500 RPM redline, and an 11:1 compression ratio. The 375hp powerplant transmitted power via a 6-speed gearbox, available with F1 actuation, or more desirably, a 6-speed gated shifter. The F355 employed a steel monocoque structure with tubular steel rear sub-frame and independent suspension with 18 inch wheels and Brembo brakes, all of which was clothed in beautiful yet aggressive Pininfarina bodywork. The changes over its predecessor were successful and the F355 delivered remarkable performance, including a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and top speed of 185mph. Among the many mechanical advances developed for the 355, Ferrari also integrated advanced wind tunnel testing to refine tail contours and intake ducting, underbody downforce assistance via a specialized chassis fairing, and numerous other improvements benefiting both high-speed stability and fuel consumption. Offered in coupe or spider configuration, the spider was, for the first time, fitted with an automatic convertible top, tailored with distinctive trailing sail panels. This specialized canvas top cleverly aided aerodynamic flow while also giving the car a strikingly purposeful stance when the top was up. F355 Spider production would run from 1995-1999 resulting in only 2,664 examples equipped with the desirable gated 6-speed manual gearbox. This particular 355 Spider is a low mile 6-speed manual example, manufactured in January 1998 and sold to the first owner in Hewlett, New York on March 3, 1998. The car remained with the first owner until 2002 when it was sold with 8,032 miles. The second owner, also in New York, retained the car until 2005 when it had 9,180 miles. The third owner, also in New York, kept the car until it was sold to the fourth and current owner, who had the car delivered to his home in California in March 2007. Just prior to the sale, on February 21, 2007, the car was extensively serviced at Miller Motor Cars in Greenwich, Connecticut at 10,023 miles where it received warranty electrical work, left and right exhaust header replacements, exhaust gaskets, a new catalytic converter, all three catalytic control ECUs, and two new CV boots, totaling $8,984.05. Over the course of its life, this F355 has been thoughtfully maintained including regular service performed over the past decade by Northern California Ferrari expert Patrick Ottis who performed an engine out belt service and chassis service in July 2008 at 12,022 miles. In October 2013 with 17,048 miles, Ottis performed a general service, oil change, replacement of sticky interior components, suspension and tire work, and headlight motor repair, totaling over $3,000. In December 2014 with 22,027 miles, Ottis performed an $11,000 engine out cam belt service, additionally addressing suspension, hoses, exhaust and the AC system while these various components were more easily accessible. In 2015 a new battery was installed and in May 2017 with 25,094 miles the car was extensively serviced at Autosport, GMP in Novato, CA including oil/filter change, brake fluid flush, the installation of a new catalytic converter, new O2 sensor, new exhaust seal, two new Michelin Pilot Super Sport front tires, four wheel alignment, and a successful smog inspection, totaling over $5,000. In addition, the windshield was recently replaced with a correct NOS piece, carefully sourced to maintain the correctness of the car. Today, this 355 presents in very fine cosmetic condition, offering a crisp and nicely detailed appearance consistent with the 26,000 careful miles it has covered since new. Digital paint meter tests confirm the factory original Rosso Corsa paint on all metal panels with the possible exception of the front deck lid, which meters at 6 to 10 mils compared to 3 to 6 mils on the rest of the car. The paint is in excellent condition showing smooth gloss throughout and no significance surface marks. The front bumper cap has been nicely repainted to remedy parking scuffs, and the left side rocker panel cover has been replaced and correctly painted to match after being damaged. The glass, newly installed windshield, and all lighting are in excellent condition throughout. Trim and emblems are exceptionally well-preserved showing very nice color and finish in all respects. The doors, hood, and trunk all open and shut with confidence, displaying very nice factory fit and finish. The wheels are in excellent condition, accented by vivid red brake calipers and striking yellow Ferrari center caps. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are in very good condition with the fronts being essentially new and rears still showing good tread remaining. The interior of the car is in especially nice condition. The tan leather is supple and smooth with excellent surfacing, very good seat foam, and no significant scuffs or scratches of note beyond some of the typical light wear on the driver’s seat bolster. The common sticky buttons problem has been permanently addressed in this car, with all components refinished except for the soft top release lever, which is sticky. The carpets are generally excellent, with light evidence of use on the carpeting in the driver’s footwell but otherwise the interior has been very nicely maintained. The dashboard surfaces, instruments, and switches are all in excellent condition showing beautiful color and tight stitch lines. The leather surfaces including the center console, door panels, visors, and pillars are in excellent condition. The original radio is installed but not currently functional. In all, the interior is handsome and fresh with excellent fit and finish. The trunk area remains fresh as well, consistent with the rest of the car. Clearly the previous owners maintained this F355 with proper care and enthusiastic consideration both cosmetically and mechanically. The engine and drivetrain are in excellent cosmetic condition. The factory air boxes, hoses, and intake plenums are nicely preserved and properly affixed with correct hardware. Hoses, fittings, and assorted under-hood components are in equally good condition. The undercarriage is clean and dry with no significant road rash showing on any of the aerodynamic chassis shields or surrounding components. There is no evidence of structural damage or significant structural repair. The clean aluminum engine and suspension castings further support the low mileage. The car drives and shifts as expected with no hesitation in power and smooth shift action through all gears. The flat plane V8 makes magnificent visceral noises that encourage the driver to rev the car out. Cornering and road manners are quite nice, with a planted, grippy feel thanks to the modern tires and sophisticated chassis design to support the car’s impressive top end performance. The overall look and feel of this car is remarkable considering that it is 20 years old, and the car has a crisp presentation that isn’t always present in these cars. An inspection was recently performed and the only noted needs were new CV joint boots and a report that the motor and transmission mounts are still functioning but are showing age and should eventually be replaced. A complete set of Ferrari supplied accessories accompany the car including tools and case, manual packet with leather cover, warranty book and owner’s manual, leather storage/carry case, Ferrari car cover and carry bag, convertible top boot and storage bag, tire inflator and storage case, and service records from the past ten years. Also included with the car is a Tubi exhaust system. This low-mile, four-owner F355 Spider, presented with beautifully maintained finishes and solid service history, is ready to enjoy just as intended when originally delivered twenty years ago. The supple leather interior with stunning factory Rosso Corsa exterior, makes this Ferrari a captivating and desirable open performance sports car. 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
