- 1965 BMW 1800 TI FIA
The foundation of BMW's post-war resurgence was the four-door 1500 saloon and its derivatives - the 'Neue Klasse' - introduced in 1961. All variants were powered by the Munich firm's dependable, single overhead-camshaft, four-cylinder M10 engine which, despite its humble origins, would later form the basis of a turbo-charged 1,000bhp Grand Prix unit and Formula 1 World Championship winner. New for 1963, the 1800 model used a 1,773cc 90bhp engine at first before rationalisation saw it replaced by an updated short-stroke 1,766cc unit in 1968. Soon there was a more sporting version available – the 1800 TI (Touring International) – which had been developed by the tuning company Alpina and featured two twin-choke Solex carburettors and a higher compression ratio, modifications that raised peak output to 110bhp. This in turn led to the more powerful and track-focused 1800 TI/SA 'homologation special'. On offer here is a well known, race-proven, right-hand drive BMW 1800 TI, run and prepared to the highest standards by marque experts, Laranca Engineering. Before becoming a well seasoned race car, the TI was campaigned in rallying by Jill Watson during the 1990s and there is an accompanying history file with the car containing more information on its busy and impressive life. The BMW’s last engine refresh was in 2018 by Laranca and since then it’s completed one race in 2018 at the Oldtimer event at the Nürburgring and hasn’t been campaigned since. The FIA papers (GB10243) are valid until 31st December 2026 ensuring that this car offers access into some of the most tightly contested and desirable Historic Motorsport championships on offer. Our vendor has moved to South America and has reluctantly decided that it’s time to let it go. The TI is being offered at a seriously tempting guide price when you consider the cost to replicate, advertised prices for similar cars, and its proven race pedigree. 1965 BMW 1800 TI FIA Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1962 AC Ace Bristol
Before crossing the path of American Carroll Shelby, the AC Ace could have been a small roadster without great ambition, if not that of saving a moribund builder after the war. But the story of a creation as striking as the ancestor of the legendary Cobra could not be banal ... Although widely known since the 1960s, AC is one of the oldest British automakers. But his story was not punctuated with success, far from it. Founded in 1901 by the Weller brothers and based in Ferry Works near London, AC presented its first "three wheeler" in 1903. The company was then called Autocars and Accessories and named its model the AutoCarrier. Two letters that will become an emblem since the company is renamed Auto Carrier in 1907. The craft, simple and practical, is a great success and AC moved in 1911 in a larger factory that the Weller have built in Thames Ditton near London. With its growing success, AC decided to market its first "4 wheels" in 1913. It is a small two-seater sports type. But interrupted by the First World War, production resumed in 1919 with the introduction of a new 1500 cm3 inline 6-cylinder engine designed by John Weller. In 1922, the name of the company became AC Cars Ltd. Heavily indebted, Weller sells shares of the company to the investor and pilot Selwyn Edge who undertakes to elevate AC to a recognized sports car manufacturer. For this, the 6-cylinder is developed in several competition. But sales decline and the crisis of 1929 puts the company to the carpet. The brothers Charles and William Hurlock, owners of a transport company, bought it back in 1930 and production slowly resumed. Auto Carrier becomes AC Acedes Cars Ltd. Initially interested in the Thames Ditton buildings for their activities, the Hurlock brothers finally resigned themselves to continuing the sale of parts for the AC still outstanding which represent a significant potential market. Following an agreement with the Standard Group, a new line of cars is being developed for 1932. The Goodwood circuit designer Freddie March offers his services for the design of the new models that must reinforce AC as sports cars manufacturer. Gentlemen drivers are the privileged target of the company that is based on the saying "run on Sunday is sell on Monday"... The Second World War again disrupts the life of AC which stops in 1940 and does not resume until 1947. The firm is limited to give a boost to seriously dated 2 liter models. Driver Cliff Davis buys the Tojeiro roadster and wants him to install a Bristol 6-cylinder engine under the hood. This requires reviewing the chassis but Tojeiro agrees. On the occasion of his first race at Goodwood, Cliff won. Successes ensued in the course of 1953 and Davis' car soon made a name for itself in the world of motor racing. It was then that driver and gentleman Vin Davidson ordered the same chassis from Tojeiro. At the same time, the Hurlock brothers on the lookout for a model that could revive AC on the sports ground decide to take an interest in Tojeiro's car. Tojeiro also designed a chassis for Lionel Leonard and another for Vin Davinson. Through Ernie Bailey, Tojeiro met Derek Hurlock and his uncle Charles. It's also said that they were initially attracted by the example designed for Vin Davinson, but that this chassis was sold during the negotiations, and that they finally turned to the chassis designed for Davis Cliff. They'll just have to try out Davidson's car to be convinced of the validity of the idea.. The conceptual simplicity of the Tojeiro roadster fits in perfectly with the limited production facilities of AC Cars. The other interest is that at the end of an advantageous agreement it is expected that Tojeiro will be paid a royalties of £ 5 on each of the first 100 chassis sold, AC avoiding a significant investment while limiting the salary of his new employee! Based on the car purchased from Davidson, which became a consultant for AC, a first prototype was built very quickly for the 1954 London show. Instead of the 6-cylinder Bristol, the "6 Ditton" engine designed by John Weller before the war was installed. The new AC is called Ace. Car well born, the AC Ace makes the happiness of its drivers, amateurs or professionals. After winning many victories in his class, Ken Rudd hires a car at the 1957 Le Mans 24H race. The endurance race must give the small AC roadster a significant media coverage around the world. But the Hurlock brothers, near their pennies, do not quite see the Sarthe race so well. Their plans are rather to revive the production of a sedan to develop the brand, Rudd resigns himself to finance his participation in the event. During 24H, the 6 inline Bristol proves once again its incredible reliability and the small AC ACE led by Ken Rudd and Peter Bolton finishes the race at an average speed of 157.52 km/h, which gives him a 10th place overall. The class victory scarcely escapes them, just behind the Ferrari 500 TR, but the top speed recorded in the Hunaudières at 209 km/h impresses the crowd. Among them, a car racing enthusiast came especially from Texas to win the victory in 1959 remarks the English girl almost serial that runs in the middle of the big teams and ranks 7th in the race. AC cars will be present at Le Mans until 1962, during which they will find a worthy descent: AC Cobra ... Following Rudd's advice, Hurlock decided to offer an AC Ace version with the Bristol 2-liter engine for which it was originally designed. With 105 hp, it reached 200 km/h. It was therefore aimed at the sportiest driver . Some versions were later upgraded to 150 hp. In 1957, disc brakes were fitted. In April 1956, they became Ace Bristol and Aceca Bristol. Between 1956 and 1961, AC produced 463 roadsters and 172 coupes. However, Bristol was forced to suspend the supply of its engines in 1961. The Filton firm gave up producing its own engines, preferring to source V8s from the American Chrysler. The Hurlock brothers tried, without much success, to replace the 2-liter Bristol with the 2.6-liter Ford Zephyr/Zodiac. Five stages of preparation were offered, from 90 to 170 hp. This overly commonplace package was not very exciting and, alas, never really delivered. Customers shunned these Ace and Aceca bastards. Surely, the ACs deserved a far more noble engine. The situation was critical, and it was time to bounce back. Jaguar had just presented its Type E at Geneva, with its undeniable charms, and sold at an unbeatable price. In the end, it was the United States that provided the miracle that would give birth to a new myth... 727 Ace models were produced, including 226 with AC engines (1953/1963), 463 with Bristol engines (1956/1963) and 38 with Ford engines (1961/1963). For the Aceca, there were 329 examples, with 152, 169 and 8 units respectively. From 1963 onwards, AC concentrated on the AC Cobra program. Our AC Ace Bristol was delivered new on January 18, 1962 in Paris by the brand's French importer, Ets Chardonnet, to Alfred Morille of Parfums Raphaël, who registered it under number 25 LW 75. He kept it for a year before selling it to Établissements Gauthier in Paris. Later sold to the Baroness d'Espin, it then went through only five owners, all of whom were identified, before the current owner purchased it in 2012. Born white with a red interior, it was the famous collector Jean-Paul Petit who undertook its mechanical restoration at C2C, as well as its bodywork at ODS between 2006 and 2011 in this superb navy blue hue. This original French car underwent several interventions by the garage RPM in 2012 and 2013 and more recently, the file includes an invoice from AS Classic Engineering (Alexandre Surber) dated July 2021 and totaling almost €38,000 of work on the mechanics and bodywork to make the car perfect. Front and rear axles completely rebuilt; clutch and transmission overhauled, as was the rear axle; front and rear brakes, etc... These interventions reflect the concern of successive owners to use this car without worry, and its equipment bears witness to this. For example, it is fitted with a rack and pinion steering system instead of the original steering box, which makes the car devilishly efficient; an overdrive to lower engine speed on long-distance journeys; an oil cooler for efficient lubrication; an aluminum cooling radiator and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Eligible for all the major international rallies, including the Tour Auto, it was produced in very small numbers with its aluminum body and noble Bristol engine... This is a car to be enjoyed without moderation, and one that deserves a place in your collection. 1962 AC Ace Bristol Historic Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. This is a car to be enjoyed without moderation, and one that deserves a place in your collection. - 1956-ac-aceca-bristol
The AC Aceca is one of the finest sporting GT cars of its time, and the beautifully restored example being offered for sale here is one of only 169 that were built new with the powerful Bristol straight-six engine. Chassis number BE576 left the factory on 22 September 1956 as the sixth Bristol-engined Aceca, and its early build date means that it’s eligible for the modern-day Mille Miglia. It was finished in blue with cream leather seats and blue piping, and was sent to the Eastern Auto Company in Singapore. There it was bought was a WS Cowie, who was from Kuala Lumpur and went on to drive his Aceca in a support race for the 1960 Johore CoronationCup. The AC was later acquired by Richard King, an American businessman who lived and worked in Singapore. The car’s history file even includes some of his old insurance certificates from the Automobile Association of Singapore. When Mr King returned to the USA in 1972, he took the Aceca with him to his home in Carmel, California, where he was a neighbour of Clint Eastwood. By that time, the car was in need of restoration, but having bought some engine parts from Bristol’s Chiswick-based service department in April 1973, the work unfortunately went little further and the unfinished Aceca remained in Mr King’s garage for the next 40 years. It was then acquired in 2015 by an English enthusiast via Gullwing Motors of New York. Having been shipped across to the UK, the AC was treated to a full restoration, which included having the Bristol 100D engine rebuilt to fast-road specification by Coltec Racing Engines in Suffolk. The restoration is fully documented within the car’s comprehensive history file, and the owner used the Aceca on the Mille Miglia before selling it in 2018. Since then, it has been fastidiously maintained and has benefited from the fitment of an aluminium radiator and an electric cooling fan. With its combination of fabulous styling and that crisp, powerful six-cylinder engine, this AC Aceca Bristol is a rare and extremely attractive car that is still superbly presented after its rebuild. ! 1956 AC Aceca Bristol The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1991-porsche-944-s2-1
Rare special model with a polarizing color combination, the last model year of the 944 produced in Zuffenhausen/Neckarsulm. The vehicle presented has been in the hands of an enthusiast for the last 22 years, where it was only driven as a summer vehicle and was verifiably looked after very meticulously. The complete service booklet and the invoices, receipts and documents provided with it are evidence of very conscientious handling. Unusual - and extremely praiseworthy - is the fact that this same previous owner stood by his 944 even at times when the general market was not paying any particular attention to his model and the prices of these vehicles were very low by Porsche standards. At this point, it is important to mention that we have been dealing with this topic very intensively since the early 1980s, which is in the nature of things. That's why we can tell you not only verbally, but also in black and white from the literature we have collected over decades - pretty much all series Porsches had to go through this valley of tears. If you wanted an original 911 in the 80s, you could get a long way with around DM 10,000... a 2.7 RS - now legendary - was also available for 12-15,000 DM, and the very successful Carrera 3.2 models were offered across all variants for between 15 and 60,000 DM, with the latter sum being asked for models like the 3.2 Speedster in mint condition. Remembering this every now and then helps even older people immensely to have the flexibility to bite themselves in the butt... Before we continue to indulge in nostalgia, back to our “rubystone” - the previous owner took loving care of his Porsche for decades, never had an accident with it and looked after it to the highest degree. You can see that today. The Porsche impresses with its fabulous overall condition with hardly any signs of wear, is in excellent accident-free condition and completely in its original paint except for the trunk lid, which had to be painted when a rod antenna was removed. 1991 Porsche 944 S2 DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1958 Jaguar XK150
This XK150 3.4 Drophead Coupe was constructed on 30th May 1958 and subsequently exported to the USA on the 18th June of the same year, destined for supplying dealer Jaguar Cars New York. The car was built to North American specification, originally finished in Carmen Red with red trim Retained within the comprehensive history file is a previous US certificate of title from the State of California, dated July 1990, prior to its repatriation to the UK in the mid 1990s, whereupon it was the subject of an extensive restoration and conversion to right hand drive steering by leading Jaguar exponents J.D. Classics, who later supplied this XK to the vendor in September 2000 During the restoration this superb example was re-finished in dark blue coachwork with a dark blue hood and a grey leather interior finished off with blue carpets and rugs, walnut dash and Sun Dym glass The engine was rebuilt to the highest standards, lightened, balanced and upgraded to ‘S’ specification with the addition of triple SU carburettors mated to ‘S’ inlet manifolds and an ‘S’ spec air-box. Further engine upgrades included a toughened crank shaft, balanced con rods with high compression pistons and the original cylinder head fully rebuilt to ‘S’ specification The XK further benefits from many upgrades designed to make it more useable in modern traffic including a 5 speed all synchromesh gearbox, power steering, electronic choke, uprated brakes, poly bushed suspension, JD sports callipers, twin servos split between front and rear for differential braking, limited slip differential, adjustable shocks, gaitered rear springs, twin performance switchable fuel pumps and a modified battery compartment. The inner wings have been modified as per the original ‘S’ specification Other modifications include an electronic ignition, uprated alternator, negative earth conversion and stainless-steel exhaust manifold and exhaust. In addition a new alloy radiator was fitted to enhance cooling, finished in black with a sealed expansion tank and an electric fan with both automatic and manual control. The XK was also fitted with desirable Borrani type aluminium rimmed wire wheels and fast road tyres The extensive history file documents a huge quantity of servicing, maintenance and improvements completed by JD classics over the past twenty years. This exceptional example has clearly been cherished and enjoyed during the vendors twenty three year ownership attested to by invoices on file totalling almost £100,000 during his ownership In addition to the aforementioned invoices, the file contains a Jaguar Heritage certificate, multiple MOT certificates dating back to 2000 as well as an operating, maintenance and service handbook. The car passed an advisory-free MOT in November of 2022, having completed a mere 9,188 miles since its restoration. - 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider 1
This particular example, Chassis # ZFFXR48A3V0108663, was first registered on December 15, 1997, to its first owner in Connecticut. They went on to own the car for nearly 19 years with a plethora of service records proving its meticulous maintenance. The first notable service record is a major engine-out service completed in September 2012 at 46,609 miles. During this service, the valve cover gaskets and cam seals were replaced, along with all tensioners and their respective timing and serpentine belts. The coolant hoses were also changed before the engine underwent a complete fluid flush and refill. Recall #48, involving the installation of a new fuel divider block to prevent potential fire risks, was also addressed. Both tie rods were found to have excessive play and were replaced, along with the inner and outer CV boots. Additionally, the sticky interior components, commonly seen in Ferraris of this age, were replaced. In November 2013, both catalytic converters were changed, the receding instrument cluster leather was replaced and a windshield was installed due to a crack. In July 2014, all four oxygen sensors, one-way vacuum valves, the vacuum solenoid, the vacuum canister, and the exhaust bypass valve were replaced to resolve a persistent check engine light. During this visit, the convertible top received new straps, and the hood struts, along with the front right headlight motor, were replaced. With the last service record on file from the first owner dating back to November 2016 when the 355 received yet another headlight motor along with some radar and radio wiring repairs. In December of that year, it was listed for sale by a dealer and was sold in January 2017 at an auction with 49,272 miles on the odometer. The 355 was then listed as a dealer vehicle, presumably placed on display given that it had acquired only 811 miles when it was listed for sale in February 2021 by Motorcars Washington in Sterling, VA. They serviced it a week later at PBC Automotive in Chantilly, VA before selling it to Sloane Porsche Audi, a neighboring dealership in Warrington, PA. Where another major engine-out service was completed involving all of the belts, seals, gaskets, and fluids at around 50,450 miles in 2022. Alongside that major service came a new clutch and a new aftermarket exhaust. The dealership also removed the aftermarket radar system and installed a new OEM grille in its place. In June 2022, bank #1 of plug wires as well as the #4 plug were replaced to resolve a reported misfire. The convertible top became inoperable once more, resulting in the dealership removing its hydraulic system and making this a manually convertible Ferrari 355 Spider (quite common). In August 2024, this 355 was listed for sale once more through Ryan Friedman Motor Cars, LLC in Glen Cove, NY with 51,000 miles on the odometer. It is worth noting that this car has only seen one non-dealer owner. From new to 2016, after which the car passed between dealers who serviced it and drove it sparingly. This sometimes happens to cars for a few reasons, sometimes it is because no one wants to retail a car that does not meet their standards. Other times it is due to the rarity of the specification and the desirability. The dealers mentioned are all enthusiast-based dealerships. As such the latter is the reason with this particular 355. So, while the CARFAX notates 2-owners, this car in reality has only seen one end-user owner. Upon our acquisition, little was needed beyond proper detailing. As a higher mileage but well-serviced example it is inviting as a car to drive and use. Addressing minor cosmetic faults would not make sense to address, so we have left it imperfect. As it sits, this 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider has been meticulously maintained since new – one of its biggest merits. As 1 of 11 finished in Verde Silver Stone Metallic over a beige interior, you can be sure that you’ll stand out from the other Ferraris at any cars & coffee event or FCA event. Included in the sale are the original owner’s books in their respective pouches, the original toolkit, car & seat covers, and all of the service records on file. Exterior Body and paint This 355 is unusual in that it has higher mileage than most while also wearing a particularly rare shade of green not often seen on 355’s. As such the overall theme of this car is that of a very attractive driver. The car appears to be straight with excellent panel gaps and showing no signs of having ever been in an accident or otherwise damaged/repaired. The flaws are purely commensurate with the mileage and should be expected. Please see the “notable flaws” section and reference the photos for a breakdown of the blemishes that we have found. We can say that this car has seen paintwork here or there during its life. A trained eye may or may not pickup on this upon close inspection as any of the work completed in the past appears to have been done to a very high standard. Glass and trim The glass is all OE Ferrari, with records indicating that the windshield was replaced at one point. Otherwise there are no obvious blemishes to note in the glass. The trim is all present, all rubber remains supple and in good condition overall with the only standout being the passenger side soft top rubber where it meets the glass, a small tear is present. Wheels The wheels are the factory supplied 18” units which are in good condition overall albeit with some minor blemishes to be found, not perfect, but not in need of repair either. The center caps are bright and likely replaced at some point as they appear to be new. Notable flaws Starting at the front of the car, the front bumper shows a variety of small nicks and pencil point sized chips that go onto the hood as well, expected and typical with these miles. The worst of it is a pencil-eraser sized chip that has been touched up on the bumper. Very minute pencil point sized or less blemishes can be found on the front fenders as well and more generally this is the kind of blemish that may be found here or there throughout the car. The drivers and passenger door edge both have chips that have been touched up over the years. The engine deck lid cover has one small chip on the edge that was also touched up. The rockers have some light peppering as well. Again, nothing worth refinishing as this is a car meant to be driven and has been throughout its life, hence the acceptable blemishes. Iinterior Seats and surfaces The interior presents well overall. Records indicate that the dash pod was previously recovered due to shrinking, and today it looks factory. The ash is otherwise good, but not perfect with some slight deformity around the airbag on the passenger side, but this is all too common on 355’s. The passenger side plastic seat back adjustment lever has a small section that is broken off. Otherwise the interior is impressive for the miles and we can report there are no stickys by way of the soft touch coating having been removed (rather than refinished - again, common and sensible on a 355). The carpets, door cards, kick panels, center console, seats etc… are all excellent. The bolster, and e-brake book show minor wear as to be expected. The jams are clean, and the sills show minor aging in a few spots (see photos) but otherwise this is an inviting interior that can be appreciated as-is. Functionality and accessories As of this condition report the majority of knobs, switches, stalks etc… worked correctly. The only items we found that should see attention is the dome light which functions intermittently. Engine bay and trunk Engine bay The engine bay is in acceptable-to-good condition overall, matching the rest of the car nicely and all in line with the mileage indicated. We can see some minor chips on the engine bay suspension/chassis covers, some red paint chipping on the valve covers and an aging exhaust heat shield. Otherwise the engine bay shows well and shows evidence of having regularly been serviced. Trunk area The front trunk is tidy and in good condition overall with nothing missing. The light does not work and there is also the addition of a battery tender fixed to the trunk. Underside The underside shows that this car was enjoyed. We see scratches, blemishes and wear commensurate with the mileage. We have noted/photoed damage to the under tray of which aftermarket units can be sourced. Some very minor leaks/seepage may be present here or there but nothing in need of attention. Mechanicals Engine The engine starts easily, settled to an idle and has no questionable noises nor does it smoke. The well serviced 3.5L 5-Valve 4-Cam V8 produces ample power throughout the rev range as designed with no issues to note. A well serviced and strong engine. While the car retains its factory exhaust manifolds, it does have an aftermarket cat-back exhaust. Transmission The transmission is healthy with all synchros operating as designed. This 355 also benefits from a new clutch installed only a few 100 miles ago. As such we have no issues to report with the transmission. Brakes and suspension The suspension and steering is firm and without any excessive play, noise or vibrations. The brakes work well with no pulling or pulsing in the pedal. Tires The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 225/40/ZR18 (front) and 265/40/ZR18 (rear) all with date codes showing 2021 and ample tread life as we believe they have less than 1,000 miles on them. Driving experience The Ferrari 355 is an all time great. One seeks out and acquires a 355 for many reasons, the practicality (yes, for a Ferrari it is surprisingly easy to use) of use, or with this car, the incredibly rare and desirable spec. But perhaps one avoids the 355 for the maintenance hogs that they can be. Fortunately this car represents everything you want in a 355 Spider. It is incredibly well serviced, has proven itself and benefits from the extensive use it has seen - this is very much a positive when it comes to long-term reliability and lower maintenance costs for 355’s. The gated manual, and an 8,500 redline provides one of the most unique experiences the automotive world has to offer. This is one of our favorites and this particular example will provide years of enjoyment without the worry of adding miles all while being sought after when it comes time for resale. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright This particular example, Chassis # ZFFXR48A3V0108663, was first registered on December 15, 1997, to its first owner in Connecticut. - 1980-alfa-romeo-alfetta-'turbodelta'
A superb and beautifully executed recreation of the ultra-rare factory-built Turbodelta by Alfa gurus, CSR, over a 5-year period and costing in excess of £60,000. Conceived as Alfa Romeo’s entry into the fiercely competitive Group 4 category, the Alfetta GTV Turbodelta was a factory homologation special developed by Autodelta between 1979 and 1980. 400 examples had to be made to satisfy the FIA’s homologation rules and regulations, with the car based on the standard GTV 2000. All Turbodeltas were left-hand drive and exclusively sold in mainland Europe, never offered directly to the UK market. The recipe was wild: a 150bhp 2.0-litre Nord engine, no intercooler, a KKK turbo, and twin-choke side-draught Webers fed via an experimental aluminium airbox, it was Alfa Romeo’s first ever turbocharged production engine. Fewer than five were ever fully built in period by Autodelta themselves, making this recreation arguably closer to a “real” Turbodelta than most of the 400 homologation specials. Primarily intended for circuit racing and rallying, the Turbodelta competed in events like the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) and select rally stages, often run by Autodelta-affiliated or privateer teams. Though not a dominant force in period, its distinctive power delivery, muscular stance, and scarcity cemented its cult status as one of Alfa’s most charismatic homologation specials. It’s all too easy to dismiss recreations/homages/tributes until one is done properly like this. This Turbodelta tribute took five years and was executed with a forensic level of detail by Alfa Romeo gurus, Chris Snowdon Racing (CSR). The project started from a combination of sentimental roots following our vendor recalling his father’s Alfetta GTV 2000 owned in period, and spotting a genuine Turbodelta for sale in 2019. The snowball effect has been rather impressive and show-stopping since then to say the least. The donor car was an ex-hillclimb car purchased from CSR as a guilt-free blank canvas instead of tearing up a nice, standard road car. The shell benefits from a bare metal respray and is much lighter thanks to fibreglass doors, bonnet and bootlid, and Lexan windows. A genuine Group A 1985 ETCC Luigi Racing aluminium roll-cage was fitted, the arches, roof scoop, bonnet and spoilers all came from moulds taken directly from a genuine Group 4 Turbodelta in Switzerland, with the wheel arches lifted from the famed Hilliard/Bortorelli example. The engine is an early Mathwall Engineering-built turbocharged Nord unit, originally from a Bell & Colvill GTV Turbo, essentially the UK-market version of the Turbodelta. It still uses the original Turbo Technics SN/0002 turbo, now paired with a front-mounted intercooler for better cooling, efficiency and spacing as it also runs Jenvey individual throttle bodies and an Alfa 75 Turbo Evoluzione manifold. Mapped via a Canems ECU, it produces over 200bhp with a curb weight of just 1,080kg meaning it will have more get up and go than any original Turbodelta could manage. The handling has also seen some CSR wizardry, with 30mm front torsion bars, an uprated anti-roll bar, and proper GTV6 2.5 suspension geometry dialling out any semblance of understeer. It sits on original, but reconditioned, 15x10 and 15x11 Autodelta magnesium wheels shod in Pirelli P7 Corsa rubber. Stopping power has been uprated with 280mm discs and four-pot callipers up front, and the inboard rear set-up has been retained. The interior is purposeful, but very well finished, and features Sparco bucket seats, a Sabelt suede steering wheel, a revised dash with five auxiliary gauges, a 10,000rpm canted rev counter, digital speedo, and a boost gauge. The car was fully stripped to bare metal, restored, and rebuilt with virtually an entire car’s worth of new parts. The final bill? Over £60,000. This is an unmissable opportunity to acquire one of the most thorough, evocative and usable Turbodelta tributes ever created. A fabulous celebration of Alfa Romeo’s motorsport ambition and a thrilling driver’s car in its own right, estimated at a fraction of its build cost, your viewing is highly recommended. - 1990-ferrari-testarossa-6
The Ferrari Testarossa was produced from 1984 as the successor to the legendary Ferrari 512 BB Series mid-engine sports car. With its 180° V 12 engine (despite the name Berlinetta Boxer it does not have a true boxer engine) the technical design is evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but the design of the coachwork certainly caused quite a stir! The name Testarossa is a reminder of the very successful Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa front engine racers from the 1950s and early 60s, whose valve covers traditionally were painted red. The coachwork of the Testarossa was designed by Pininfarina and assembled at Scaglietti in Modena. Breaking with tradition, it was both innovative and sensational! The large side air streaks (actually a legal requirement since such large openings to the side-mounted radiators were not allowed), often copied by other manufacturers, immediately became the defining design element of the Testarossa. The example offered is a Swiss delivery and was handed over to its first owner, a coachwork specialist from the Zurich area, on the 28th of June 1991 through the Garage Zenith in Sion. Initially he drove the sports car with his own dealer plates and only had it registered on the 1st of September 1991. In 2002 with then 34’000 kilometres clocked, the Testarossa was taken over by his last owner, an entrepreneur from Neuchatel. He was 69 years old at the time and with the Ferrari fulfilled a long-held dream. The Modenese bolide was driven sparingly and most of the time remind stationary in the proud owner’s garage. At the end of 2009, the car was parked for good and not driven for the next 15 years. In April 2025 the sleeping beauty was woken up and carefully recommissioned. A major service including a change of the cambelt was performed, a set of new tyres and a new battery were fitted. With not even 36’000 kilometres driven, most probably only two previous owners and freshly serviced the Ferrari is in good to very good original condition and will be handed over to a new Ferraristo with the most recent Veteran MOT from April 2025. 1990 Ferrari Testarossa Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1959 Ferrari 250GT Series I Pinin Farina
1959 Ferrari 250 GT Series I Pinin Farina Coupe s/n 1147GT, Engine no. 1147 (internal no. 0218D) Grigio Scuro with Black Interior Introduced in 1958, the 250GT Pininfarina Coupe represented Ferrari’s shift toward standardized production road cars, both to showcase the technology tested in racing, and to provide consistent income to support racing. The cars were elegant, understated, and luxurious, and were available as both open and closed variants. Fitted with the venerable 3-litre V-12, the 250 GT is in many ways the quintessential classic Ferrari, and with generous space for both passengers and luggage, PFs have always been excellent touring cars. This particular car’s history is well known, thanks to a comprehensive summary by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini: October 24, 1958: Chassis frame sent to Carrozzeria Pinin Farina in Torino February 12, 1959: Rear axle assembly completed by mechanic Walter Sghedoni, supervised by foreman Amos Franchini February 14, 1959: Gearbox assembly completed by mechanic Beltrami, supervised by foreman Amos Franchini February 14, 1959: Engine assembly completed by mechanics Zanasi and Fossati, supervised by foreman Amos Franchini February 16, 1959: Engine dyno tested by mechanic Pinelli, supervised by engineer Russo February 17, 1959: Chassis frame completion date on factory build sheets, signed by foreman Amos Franchini 1959: Delivered to official Ferrari importer Italauto SA of Lausanne, Switzerland, a company owner and managed by race driver and Baron Emmanuel “Toulo” De Graffenried of Switzerland 1959: Sold by Italauto SA to first owner Guinness, resident in Switzerland. As a Series I car, equipped with drum brakes, an offset shifter, and finished in grigio scuro with beige leather interior. Likely equipped with a Series II discs brake assembly early in s/n 1147GT’s existence, possibly at Ferrari, as the entire system including the rare proportioning valve is identical to that of a Series II. By late 1977: Exported to the USA and owned by James B. Wise of Oklahoma City, OK. By 1980: Owned by Merle H. Mickley Mishne of Cleveland, OH By late 1999: Sold to Brian De Vries of Grand Rapids, MI June 2000: Sold to Walter Giovanelli, Hauppauge, NY By 2002: Sold to Simon De Giula Botta, Oakland, CA By 2003: Sold to the current owner Recently the car has seen considerable restoration work, both cosmetic and mechanical. This work included an engine rebuild by Patrick Ottis & Co. which included a new water pump, and a rebuilt starter, and generator. Once completed, the engine was dyno-tested to confirm 212 horsepower and 194 ft/lbs of torque. A new clutch and flywheel were installed as the engine was re-installed. A comprehensive brake system overhaul was also performed, as was a repaint in the original and striking shade of grigio scuro. Many other smaller works were carried out to ensure the car is in fully operable trim mechanically, and this is confirmed by its excellent road manners. THE CAR EMPLOYS A DRIVER LEVEL COSMETIC PRESENTATION. The recent repaint is in good order, but not done to show standards. It would likely polish up a bit with a careful but comprehensive color sand. The brightwork is straight, generally complete, and free of major pitting, but with hazing and some light weathering present. The glass and lenses show some age in select areas, primarily the windscreen, which has some wiper marks. The car sits on Borrani RW 3598 5.5x400 wire wheels, which are shod with newer Michelin 185 X Series tires. The interior, which appears to have been partially reupholstered in 2000, also employs a nice driver presentation. There are no tears or holes in the leather, although there is some drying evident on the dash pad and center console. The carpets are older, but in serviceable order. The gauges are all present and appear to be operational, although some of the under dash switchgear may not be totally original. The headliner is in very good shape. The trunk is upholstered, but generally unrestored in its presentation. The engine bay is partially restored, primarily the engine itself, which is quite correct in its details, and makes a fresh presentation. The inner fenderwells, and some of the ancillary components have an unrestored presentation. The equipment present is quite correct, including the brake booster, remote oil filter housing, air cleaner and related wing nuts, yellow fuel lines, horns and compressor, and the fuse panel. The underside of the car is generally solid, but in unrestored condition. There are some areas of perforation in splash areas behind the wheels. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES WELL. The engine starts easily and pulls strong making good power over a wide RPM range, with virtually no smoke. Acceleration is brisk, thanks in part to its low final drive ratio. The transmission shifts smoothly, with good synchros, both when warm and cold. The disc brakes are effective, pulling the car down straight, which is not always the case with drum brake fitted cars. The suspension is generally in good order, although there is some noise present at back when going over rough road surfaces, likely related to the level-style rear shock absorbers. Offered with a Marcel Massini report, a copy of the build sheets, records supporting the restoration works, a second set of keys, and a very smart modern production tool roll with select original tools, this Series I PF Coupe will appeal to the Ferrari enthusiast who recognizes the value of the two passenger 250 Series cars, but is not looking to spend upwards of $1,000,000 USD. With the engine completed, the heavy lifting is done, making this car an ideal example which could be taken to the “next level” by its next custodian. s/n 1147GT is a rational purchase for the investment-minded owner looking for a car where they can benefit financially from a sweat equity labor of love, or alternatively, it could be enjoyed with a clear conscious, exactly as it is now. 1959 Ferrari 250GT Series I Pinin Farina Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
