  • 2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello ‘Grigio Titanio’

The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a traditional front-engined V12 Grand Tourer. The 5.5 litre V12 engine with 4 valves per cylinder with dual overhead cams and variable length intake manifold produces 485 bhp at 7000 rpm. The love for early 2000s Ferraris is increasing so don’t miss this well maintained 550 Maranello. This superb example in ‘Grigio Titanio’ with a light ice grey leather interior was delivered new via Sportgarage Leirer in Switzerland. Ever since then the car was maintained at the official Ferrari dealerships, first in Switzerland and then via Germany in Holland. We acquired the car 6 years ago for the current owner and again no expenses were spared on maintenance. The sticky switches were treated as were all other ‘faults’ the Maranello in general has. A new clutch was fitted as well as a set of new tyres. Most recently the car was serviced in January 2024 at the official Ferrari dealer. All original manuals and leather pouch come with the car, as well as a nice file with invoices The car is in superb condition, does not have a scratch and most of the paint is original. The interior is near faultless and has ‘Daytona’ style seats (have a look at the details). Having tested the car for 75 km we can say there is not a rattle or sound in the car apart from the 12 cilinders and the standard exhaust system. The gearbox is a delight and the engine pulls like a bear! The car has its full Ferrari dealer service history and original service book. The car has just 69.000 km registered (just over 41.000 mls. from new). The car has Dutch registration papers, is road registered and ready to enjoy! 2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello ‘Grigio Titanio’ Very Superior Old Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 S

The Lamborghini Miura It takes but a tickle on the firmly sprung throttle pedal for the initial awkwardness of the driving position and any accompanying anxiety to subside. The throttle bodies and insatiably thirsty carburettors of the 3.9-litre V12 are, quite literally, inches from your ear canals And as you press the throttle towards its stop, gazing as the needles on the two large dials directly ahead rise towards their 8,000rpm redline, corresponding with instant response, the powerful aural symphony edges towards its crescendo. A gloriously hard cacophony floods the small yet airy cabin and the Miura surges forward with unrelenting urgency and speed. The Miura is a scarcely believable 225kg lighter than a Ferrari 330 GTS. And it tells. Driving a Miura is a life-affirming experience. All the while you’re acutely aware of how outrageously virile and desperately beautiful it is to look at – the fact you’re driving a waist-height spaceship that’s about as conspicuous a car as it’s possible to find. But from behind the wheel and at normal road speed, it’s far friendlier and more relaxing than you’d imagine. You sit slightly higher than you’d expect, which offers a great view out ahead over the low, short nose. While requiring decisive inputs, the pedals and gearchange feel positive and modern by late-1960s standards. The ride is firm enough to inspire confidence yet supple enough for long journeys. And it doesn’t feel worryingly wide on all but the narrowest of country lanes. “All the while you’re acutely aware of how outrageously virile and desperately beautiful it is to look at – the fact you’re driving a waist-height spaceship.” The legacy of the Miura is difficult to downplay. Famously held as the first ‘supercar’, it truly broke the mould, which is of little surprise given the heavy-hitting roll-call of engineers who designed it behind Ferruccio Lamborghini’s back: Dallara, Stanzani, Wallace, Gandini, etcetera. The P400 S Distinguishable from the original P400 most obviously by the chrome glass and headlamp surrounds, the Miura P400 S (S for Spinto, or ‘tuned’ in English) was introduced in 1968 and brought in a raft of small mechanical and aesthetic upgrades. Take the new Koni shock absorbers, the electric windows and the (optional) factory air-conditioning system, for example. Our favourite feature on the P400 S, however? It’s got to be the new full-length overhead bank of switches – fighter-jet style. Lamborghini style! Santa’Agata built just 338 Miura LP400 Ss and today they’re considered the sweet spot between the original LP400 and the more hardcore SV model which followed. Chassis number 3799 The Miura S we’re offering was issued with its Certificate of Origin on 15 November 1968 and was one of a mere 46 examples delivered to the Torinese concessionaire Lamborauto, situated a stone’s throw from the Bertone plant, where the Lamborghinis’ sculptural bodies were designed. The fifth of 338 Miura Ss built, chassis number 3799 was originally finished in the striking colour combination of Verde Miura over a Senape (that’s mustard in the Queen’s) faux leather and cloth interior. A man by the name of Piero Quadro acquired the car on 2 January 1968, paying the princely sum of 7.7m Italian lire for the pleasure. We can think of worse ways to quash the January blues than with a brand new Lamborghini! There are some fabulous photos of this Miura at the Turin Aero Club captured shortly after it was delivered. Presumably Quadro was a keen pilot and wanted to exhibit his new land-based pride and joy alongside his Cessna. Chassis 3799 remained in Italy for seven years, before it was acquired by Rosmarie Rosser in Schoenbuehl and re-registered in Switzerland. Almost a decade later, in 1984, this Lamborghini was registered in France. This Miura would arrive at its final destination thus far, the United Kingdom, in 2001, when it was bought by one of the most influential industrial designers of his generation. Said designer entrusted GTC Engineering in Buckingham with a comprehensive restoration. At this point, the interior was retrimmed in blue – a shade which, in our humble opinion, better complements the dazzling Verde Miura exterior. The car was registered in the UK in 2004 with the number ‘XBY 375F’, which it retains to this day. Chassis 3799 remained with its first UK-based custodian for 17 years, during which time it was treasured and enjoyed as part of a collection of truly distinguished taste. In 2018, the Lamborghini changed hands, the new UK owner having the car featured in a dedicated feature in Petrolicious – then a publication of dizzying popularity. You can click here to read the story. This Miura was acquired by its current owner in 2021 and promptly sent to a specialist near London for a thorough inspection and a number of remedial tasks including the fitment of 12 new spark plugs, cleaning of the rotor arms and posts, balancing of the carburettors and adjustment of the mixtures. More recently, in early 2023, a further mechanical inspection was conducted by the same specialist, at which point the engine oil was replaced and protective cavity wax was applied to the concealed areas of the Miura’s underside. Suffice to say, from a mechanical point of view, this Miura is in rude health. Both Max Girardo and Marcus Willis commented about how well-sorted chassis 3799 feels from behind the wheel – both specialists with plenty of Miura experience under their belts. It’s a car which has benefitted from regular use and careful maintenance. And it’s a car whose next owner should not hesitate to use and enjoy – as Ferruccio Lamborghini intended when he set out to build a more refined and useable car than his foe Enzo Ferrari in Maranello. 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 S Girardo & Co. • 1968-chevron-b8

This very special Chevron B8 (#DBE-54) possesses an irrefutably correct/original identity supported by continuous ownership and race history, Le Mans Classic provenance, a fresh Lester Owen engine and would be very welcome at any prestigious motorsport event. The hugely successful Chevron B8 first appeared in 1968, usually with BMW 2-litre engines but also with the Ford FVA, FVC and occasionally the Lotus-Climax. It was homologated into FIA 'Group 4' Sports Cars from March 1968 on the basis that 50 were built (reduced to 25 in 1969). To help Chevron Cars achieve the required number (on paper), every rebuild was listed as a new car - a habit that would continue into the B16, B19 and even the B21 and no doubt, was a practice common to other builders of limited production racing cars. In the end, only 44 of the original cars were completed. Often described as one of the greatest racing cars of all time, the B8 was fast, forgiving and delightful. In common with the Lotus Elan and the BMW E30 M3, it was one of those cars that would not punish you for a temporary 'loss of talent' and would quietly sort itself out whilst you were considering 'Plan B'. This particular car, chassis #DBE-54, was delivered new to British club racer, Peter Crossley, in March 1968 and uniquely for a B8, was fitted with a four-cylinder 2-litre Coventry-Climax, the same type of engine that was used in Formula 2 in the early 1960s. The car first raced at Rufforth on March 13th with Peter finishing second in the Yorkshire Evening Post Trophy race. Two days later, he won a Formula Libre race at Croft and the following month at Oulton Park finished second in the Total GT race. After placing second at Oulton Park in June, Peter then raced the B8 in Europe for the rest of the season, taking in events at Vila Real, Hockenheim, Wunstorf, d’Urcy, and at Jyllandsringen for the Danish GP where he finished fourth overall, in what would turn out to be the highlight of his European summer adventure. This was the start of an extensive and successful racing career for DBE-54 which has a well documented, continuous ownership history (see below) – this continuity and subsequent originality is almost unheard of for a 1960s Chevron, making DBE-54 one of only a remaining few examples with such provenance. The following 1969 season, Peter Crossley purchased a Brabham BT8, into which he fitted the Chevron’s Coventry-Climax engine, so consequently the engineless B8 sat unused the following year, except for one outing to Magny-Cours at the end of the season with a BMW 2-litre engine. Peter then put the B8 up for sale and it was bought by Theo Kinsbergen of Stichting Racing of Holland. Sponsored and entered by Team Radio Veronica, Theo took a string of podium finishes as well as winning twice at Zandvoort during the season. Borrowed for one race after crashing his own B16, Rein Zwolsman used DBE-54 to good effect to win the airfield race at Welschap. For the last two events of the season at Zandvoort, the car was rented to Henk Bosman who won both races then agreed to buy the car which he raced the following year, winning four races and finishing second in four others. The B8 was then sold to Frans van Dijk. In early 1981, DBE-54 returned to the UK and was initially purchased by well known historic racer, Steven Langton, who sold the car the following year to Richard Parsons before it subsequently became the property of John Upton. In 1984, John commissioned well known restorer, Simon Hadfield, to restore the B8 and then race it afterwards in three historic events at Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone. In what were his first ever drives in a Chevron, Simon won all three races. DBE-54 was then sold to Tim Greenhill in 1985 who hired rapid former saloon car pedaller, Tim Goss, to drive the car in the HSCC Historic series. Tim demonstrated his versatility with five class wins and won the class championship. Since then, DBE-54 has been sold on several times but has remained active in historic racing in the hands of Richard Parsons, Michael Kuhn, Stephan Schrauwen, Guy Peeters and then with our vendor since 2017, who has also had class wins racing in Masters across Europe and also raced with Peter Auto in 2018 and 2019. Reassuringly, DBE-54 remains in excellent condition throughout and is sold in race-ready condition although it will be necessary for interested parties to establish the currency and suitability of any safety-related equipment (seats, belts, tank, extinguisher etc.) as it was last run just prior to COVID. The 2-litre BMW engine was rebuilt by specialist Lester Owen in 2020 and is ‘box fresh’ with zero hours running time since, plus its suspension and brakes were rebuilt. It comes with a good spares package (multiple wheels sets, spare bodywork, etc. – the latter will be by collection post-sale) and benefits from valid 2017-issued FIA HTP papers. Also included are extensive racing history files including historic HTPs and period photographs. Interestingly, DBE-54 comes with Belgian road registration documents which is helpful for European events and also make it a great entry for historic road events and rallies around the world. This pedigree Chevron B8 is truly one of the best original examples and is eligible for many historic race events including the Le Mans Classic (where DBE-54 competed in 2006), Masters WSM, CER, etc. where it will continue to be competitive and a welcome entry. Very rarely does historic racing machinery come with this level of provenance, giving a new owner a real sense of custodianship and a tangible link to decades of successful, safe and enjoyable racing. DBE-54 is a special car and is ready to make more history. Ownership History (a detailed racing history is also available on request) 1968: Peter Crossley, Sparkford, Somerset, England, UK, raced in UK and Europe (Croft, Oulton Park, Vila Real, Anderstorp, etc.) 1971: Theo Kinsbergen, Stichting Racing, Mijdrecht, Netherlands - entered and sponsored by Team Radio Veronica with 1980cc BMW 4C engine, painted red and dark blue, raced in ’71 Dutch championship by Kinsbergen, Zwolsman and Bosman 1972: Henk Bosman, Netherlands - sponsored and entered by Team 4711 Sir Irish Moss, painted green, raced in 1972 Dutch championship 1972: Frans van Dijk, Netherlands 1981: Steven Langton, Lingfield, Surrey, England, UK 1982: Richard Parsons, UK 1983: John Upton, Valour Racing, UK, raced in Historics in ’84 by Simon Hadfield 1985: Tim Greenhill, Berkhamstead, Herts, England, UK, raced in Historics by Tim Goss, five class wins and class championship winner 1988: Richard Arnold, Gloucester, England, UK 1997: Michael Kuhn, Germany 2000: Jean-Francois Veroux, France 2003: Stephan Schrauwen, Belgium 2011: Guy Peeters, Belgium 2017: present: Frazer Gibney, UK 1968 Chevron B8 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright This very special Chevron B8 (#DBE-54) possesses an irrefutably correct/original identity supported by continuous ownership and race history, Le Mans Classic provenance, a fresh Lester Owen engine and would be very welcome at any prestigious motorsport event. • 1991 Porsche 962

The Porsche 962 C Seven times between 1982 and 1994, the Porsche 956/962 sports cars won at Le Mans, and also dominated the competition on other race tracks around the world. The 962 C is based on the 956 and has a wheelbase that is 120 millimeters longer. In Europe, a bi-turbo is used for racing; in North America, an IMSA version with a turbocharger is used. The Porsche 962 was a variant of the Porsche 956 developed in 1982 for FIA Group C that was introduced in 1984 and also met the regulations of the American IMSA racing series. The new chassis could be used by teams in both series, equipped with Group C-compliant technology designated as the Porsche 962C. After 27 examples of the 956, Porsche built a total of about 90 race cars from the 962; in addition, teams had modified the 962, sometimes fundamentally, or used in-house designs based on the 962 to make the chassis stiffer and safer and to improve aerodynamics. In the eight years from 1984 to 1991, around 54 victories and numerous championships were won. This makes the 962 arguably the most successful racing sports car, although the Porsche factory withdrew from the sport in favor of its customers. In the late 1980s, although the 962’s dominance was broken by the factory teams of Mercedes, Jaguar, Nissan and Toyota, 962s were still used in large numbers until Formula One engines were mandated, whereupon the World Sports Car Championship was discontinued due to the high cost. But even after that, at Road America in 1993 and Le Mans in 1994, the 962 was still winning races. The 962 had a steel cage instead of ALU and of course the driver’s feet were now behind the VA. For this, the front wheels including the axle were placed forward, resulting in a shorter front end (main difference from the 956 in looks). If the pedals had simply been moved to the rear, the complete driver/tank/engine concept would have had to be changed, which would have been too costly. Something changed by this measure, the 962 was 12 cm longer in the wheelbase than the 956. The rear of the 962 was a mixture of long - and short tail of the group C. The Porsche 962 C #165 offered here was completed at Porsche in Weissach in the spring of 1991 and remained the property of Weissach as a reserve vehicle. Chassis 165 was loaned to the Obermaier Racing team in August 1991 for the only race in which the car was used in the FIA Sports Car World Championship at the 430 kilometer race at the Nürburging. The 962 was driven by Jürgen Oppermann and Otto Altenbach. In the qualifying still placed on position 10, with a lap time of 1.27,856, the two drivers succeeded in the race 6 places to make good and on position 4 to finish the race. This race was the only one in the life of Chassis 165. For the following 4 years the car remained in the possession of Porsche Weissach and was stored. In the fall of 1995, Porsche received a request from one of their most important customers who was looking for a 962 for his private collection. Only a few weeks before, the same customer had purchased the legendary Porsche 993 GT2 EVO in the famous ”Harlequin” livery directly from the Porsche booth at the 1995 IAA. And so the choice fell to that same collector to sell the Porsche 962, chassis 165. At the request of the collector, the rear body panel used for the Nürburgring race was replaced with the original rear panel with which the car was completed at Porsche in 1991. Also the ”Primagaz” foiling, which the car had worn in the race, was removed and the car was optically as well as technically refurbished for the handover to the collector. The delivery to the private museum of the buyer took place in spring 1996. The following 23 years the car remained in the private museum of the owner, without seeing the light of a race track again. Finally, in 2019, it will be purchased by our company. A decisive factor for this was the extremely rare originality of the Porsche 962. Many 962s were rebuilt and optimized by customer teams over the course of their lives. Others had to be rebuilt due to accidents. Chassis No. 165 was spared such work. In times of booming Historic Racing, this is a rare opportunity to own an extremely original 962 to compete in the highlights of the season, such as LeMans Classic or in Laguna Secca during the Monterey Car Week. Originally purchased in April of 1965 by a military member stationed near Lincoln, Nebraska, until being transferred to its current owner, who said, “I always wanted one because it was the car I couldn’t afford in High School. The Stingray was a hallmark of the era for me; they had such a unique look compared to most cars at the time.” With 74,329 miles on the odometer, this Corvette is more than just a survivor; it's a triumphant testament to this vehicle's driving experience. The car has undergone a concourse-level restoration process to be enjoyed in its original state without the wear, with minimal but essential upgrades. An aftermarket starter motor to mitigate the heat-soaking issues of the original, and an upgraded radio (which matches the aesthetic of the original) with Kenwood speakers. But its not just about raw power, The Corvette's design pays homage to the golden age of American cars, with its memorable distinct and elegant contours solidifying its place as a memorable style icon. As well as it’s Milano Maroon exterior, with matching hard-top, the beige soft top conveys a sense of sophistication and timeless appeal. What sets this Corvette apart is its rarity. With only 771 fuel-injected L-84 models produced in 1965, it is a coveted piece in any collection. Its exclusivity and meticulous restoration elevate its status among enthusiasts and collectors, making it a symbol of American automotive heritage. The 1965 Chevrolet Corvette L84 is a masterpiece, offering a perfect blend of performance, design, and rarity. It's not just a car; it's an enduring icon of American ingenuity, elegance, and the spirit of the open road. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of automotive history that promises thrilling drives and a timeless legacy. 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. A number of important developments occurred during 250 GT production: the original Colombo-designed 128C 3.0-litre engine being superseded by the twin-distributor 128D, which in turn was supplanted in 1960 by the outside-plug 128F engine which did away with its predecessor's Siamesed inlets in favour of six separate ports. On the chassis side, four-wheel disc brakes arrived late in 1959 and a four-speeds-plus-overdrive gearbox the following year, the former at last providing the 250 GT with stopping power to match its speed. 1986 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The years of Carroll Shelby and Ford’s partnership created some of the best race and street cars in automotive history. Shelby’s fame and success is owed to the AC-bodied Cobra, which utilized Ford’s new 289-cubic-inch V-8, that provided the perfect balance of handling and raw power. Rated at 306 horsepower, the 289 was tasked with propelling a car that weighed only 2,000 pounds. With such exciting performance, it is no wonder that the Cobra became an instant success, making both Cobra and Carroll Shelby household names and, ultimately, beating Ferrari to bring the FIA International GT Championship to the United States for the first time in 1965. This outstanding 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 offered here for sale was shipped to Los Angeles aboard the SS Dintledyk, and it was invoiced on November 6, 1964, to Jerry Watson Ford, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. However, that invoice was soon voided, and the car was offered for sale by Carroll Shelby’s very own dealership, Hi-Performance Motors, from which it was soon sold and delivered to its first owner directly from The Shelby American factory. The original owner optioned the Cobra with desirable class “A” accessories including WSW tires ($250.50), a radio and antenna ($45.50), outside rear-view mirror ($4.20), antifreeze ($3.55), side curtains ($77) and a hardtop ($169) for a grand total of $5,744.75. Being a very late production 289 example, it was built with the desirable final running production changes including side vents, wider fender flares, rack and pinion steering, ford electrics, Stewart warner gauges, ford alternator and footbox tag complete with engine number. As per the registry, this Cobra early on made its way to Pennsylvania and then into the hands of Quaker State residents Bill and Kathy Armstrong. The Armstrong’s were great enthusiasts with a collection of English sports cars. For much of the decade, they enjoyed showing their Cobra in various Eastern and Midwestern events, winning an award at the New Hope Auto Show and taking Best Cobra at the first annual SAAC meet in Brown County, Indiana, in 1978. That year, Mr. Armstrong, a military man, was sent to serve his country abroad for several years. His wife accompanied him, and their cars were carefully put into storage, where they intended to retrieve them upon their return to the USA. The car would remain in storage until the 90’s, unmodified and still in its original colors and it remained in remarkable original condition. Upon close inspection this Cobra still retained the correct stampings and markings, chassis, chassis tag, hood and trunk latches, doors and transmission tunnel. The body and chassis revealed no evidence of the car having ever been damaged or ever modified with a roll bar, hood scoop, side exhaust, or fender flares at any point, which is extremely rare for any 289 Cobra to survive in this untampered with condition. The numbers matching 289ci/306hp engine still remains in the car along with the aluminum case four speed T-10 transmission and its Salisbury limited slip rear differential. The car has benefited from an exacting concours restoration with the goal of being one of the nicest, most correctly restored 289 street Cobras. Marque experts were consulted to assist in restoring this Cobra, with originality and extreme correctness in mind utilizing original hardware as well as parts. The outcome is what is seen here today, a never tampered with 289 Cobra. With the rise of collectability of Shelby Cobras, collectors are always searching for outstanding examples of one of America’s most important sports cars. This is a unique opportunity to own one of the best examples. A true no excuse Cobra, for the collector who only wants the best in their collection! 1965 Shelby Cobra JamesEdition B.V. • 1993 BMW 850 Ci

The BMW 8 Series of grand tourers were introduced during the 1980s, designed for potent performance and aimed at the high end of the motoring market. It is to Klaus Kapitza that we owe the outstanding aerodynamic body of the 850. The C in BMW 850 Ci stands for Coupé and indicates that the model is a two-door coupe body style but does not really differ from the previous 850i. The pop-up headlights are a hallmark of many iconic sports cars from that era. 30 years have passed and yet the charm is still at work… This 1993 BMW 850 Ci was first delivered in France and is now a cherished collector’s item in Belgium. Dressed in a captivating Calypso Red, the classic coupe stands out with its sleek lines and unmistakable presence. As shown on the pictures, the interior and the black leather of the seats are still in very good state. Powered by an impressive V12 engine, it has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, reflecting the care of its previous owners. With a six-speed manual gearbox and a relatively low mileage of just 128,000 km, it combines the thrill of driving with the assurance of reliability. User manual and service book are available. Among the equipment, you will find electric front and rear windows as well as electric front seats with position memory. The BMW 8 series remains a rare, desirable object that has just gained the oldtimer status. If you too fall in love with its unique line, its majestic V12 and its deep red, contact us. We will be happy to give you more information and present it to you in real life. 1993 BMW 850 Ci AD Sportscars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
