- 1968 Chevrolet Corvette C3 FIA
A very successful Corvette C3 race car from long-term ownership with FIA HTP papers valid until 31.12.29 and an impressive spares package. On offer here is a very competitive and well-prepared Corvette C3 that has formed part of our vendor's impressive racing stable since 2007. The car has been raced successfully across Europe in many prestigious championships and the FIA HTP papers are valid until 31st December 2029. Prepared to the highest standards with an impressive reliability record by Richard Moore, the car is accompanied by an impressive spares package, the details of which can be sent to interested parties upon request. The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice a rather impressive silencer system currently fitted to suit the rather strict UK circuits noise restrictions and the car is described by the seller (bar the usual safety and spanner checks as you would expect) as ready to go. The V8 is from Peter Knight and the car was painted by the professional team at Normandale in Daventry. This handsome C3 Corvette FIA racer appears to offer superb value for money and, in the right hands, will be very competitive, offering entry into some of the most glamorous and prestigious motorsport events around the world. A fire-breathing, 7.4-litre, early-seventies Corvette would be welcome anywhere. 1968 Chevrolet Corvette C3 FIA Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1989-ferrari-f40-4
This example was supplied new to its first keeper on 3rd April 1990 by Motor s.p.a of Bologna. As a 1990 example, this F40 is desirably a non-cat, non-adjust example of the Ferrari’s iconic poster car. This example was sold to renowned Italian Ferrari collector and Claudio Caggiati with whom it resided until 2013. An avid fan of 50s Ferraris, Caggiati notably campaigned his 500 TRC in the Mille Miglia every year between 1993 and 2014, 21 sequential entries! The F40 saw infrequent use and was sold in 2013. Imported into the UK in 2013 by Ferrari dealership Dick Lovett of Swindon, the F40 at this time had covered just 4,400 kilometres at which point the car received its Ferrari red book Classiche certification. Joining a significant collection of cars, the F40 again saw limited use, was placed into storage and sold five years later. In 2018 the F40 travelled to the sunnier and salt-free climes of Australia, imported by Scuderia Graziani of New South Wales. It found ownership in Brisbane where its custodian ensured diligent servicing by Ferrari Brisbane. The most recent owner purchased the F40 in 2020, returning the car to the UK at that time a couple of years later. Residing within our storage facility, the exacting and meticulous current owner requested DK replace all rubbers, hoses, gaskets and seals as a part of a major service as the car had spent much time stationary during its life. As such In 2023, the car passed through our workshops where it received a full mechanical overhaul including the removal of the engine and a subsequently it was decided that a full rebuild be executed, alongside the replacement of its fuel cells, lines and of course cambelts. In August 2024, this example further received an annual service and new clutch release bearing. Residing within our storage facility since, this wonderful example of a non-cat, non-adjust F40 presents superbly ticking many of the must tick boxes for an F40 including body numbers and weave; with just 6,036 km from new it is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately. 1989 Ferrari F40 D.K. - 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1
The Escort RS Turbo Series 1 was specifically developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering team to set new standards in Group N and Group A motorsport events, and was quickly dubbed ‘the car to beat’. Ford initially planned to build 5,000 examples, the minimum number required for Homologation in Group A, however, a total of 8,604 were built due to increased demand. Only available in Diamond White, the car was greeted with huge enthusiasm and was only sold through official Rallye Sport dealers. The engine utilised was a 1600 CVH unit modified to suit the higher loads and the application of a turbocharger, whilst also benefiting from computerised fuel injection and engine management incorporating boost control, producing a healthy 132bhp. It was the first front-wheel drive road car in the world to use a compact viscous-coupling design LSD instead of a normal mechanical LSD, which greatly improved cornering and drivability. Aesthetically, the RS Turbo's distinctive sporty appearance was enhanced with a body-coloured front grille, bumpers and aerodynamic aids. The interior was trimmed in a combination of Monza and Cashmere fabrics and Recaro LS bucket seats were fitted as standard. On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive example that on offer from a significant private collection of Fast Fords. The odometer shows just 32,962 miles and the car presents nicely overall, indeed, the vendor describes it as "an honest usable car that’s one for the enthusiast to use and enjoy". Offered with a UK V5C, its history file and a fresh MOT in time for the sale, this smart example appears to offer superb value and we encourage all interested parties to come and see the car for themselves at the NEC. With Sierras, Escorts and now the inevitable Focus all seeing substantial increases in value in recent years, the market for Performance Fords from this period never seems to cool down, This lovely example would be equally at home within any collection of nostalgic 80s 'rocket-ships' or being driven and enjoyed as all sporting cars should be. 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1965 Lotus Elan GTS
The Lotus Elan was introduced in 1962 and would go on to become one of the most successful sports cars of all time. It was the first Lotus road car to use the steel backbone chassis with fibreglass bodywork embodying Colin Chapman’s minimum weight design philosophy, weighing in at just 1,600 Ib. It was quickly adopted as the car of choice for privateer entrants who saw the competition potential. - 1958 Porsche 356A 1600 Super Convertible D
Although a lesser-known model, this 1958 Porsche 356A 1600 Super Convertible D is one of the rarest non-race-focused 356s to come out of Stuttgart, with just 1,331 examples being produced between August of 1958 and September 1959. Everybody knows about the 356 Speedster, a stripped-out variant that was intended to bring the Porsche’s price down for sale in America- but there were many consumers who weren’t interested in the Speedster’s sparsely padded bucket seats and lack of features but didn’t want to step up to the more expensive 356 Cabriolet- and that’s where the 356 Convertible D comes in. Finished in red, this Convertible D benefits from a number of modifications that turn it from a nice cruiser to a remarkably quick sports car, and it is in stunning condition after a restoration by a marque expert in Northern Italy. One of the changes made to the Convertible D is the addition of a windshield that wraps further around the front of the cabin, which is paired with a more heavily insulated top and roll-up windows. This makes the car far more all-weather capable than a Speedster, which was only equipped with a bare-bones fabric top and slide-in side curtains instead of actual windows. The interior of this Convertible D looks to be in absolutely beautiful condition and is where the most modifications were made over a Speedster. Finished in rich tan leather, the seats in this 356 are from the more upscale 356s and feature a nice amount of padding, making them a great place to spend time for a long trip. Additionally, the door cards feature nice leather upholstery to match, and unlike a Speedster, there are door pockets, giving you some actual in-cabin storage. The floor and rear parcel shelf are all covered in very correct square weave tan carpet, which is piped around the edges with more tan leather. When this 356 left the factory, it was fitted with a 1600 Super engine- one of the highest performing street-focused engines of the day, rated at 74 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque. Although that may have been enough to make for a reasonably quick car in the late 1950s, by today’s standards, it isn’t much. Since this car was acquired with its matching numbers 1,600cc engine in it, the consignor elected to have that engine removed and rebuilt to use as a display piece, and in its place put a built 2.0-liter flat-4. This new engine is rated at approximately 140 horsepower, making it feel exceptionally quick thanks to its low weight and nice shifting 4-speed manual gearbox. It also sounds fantastic with its Sebring-style exhaust. The original engine is included in the sale if you want to return this car to its original condition. Outside of the Carrera engined 356s, the Convertible D is the rarest of the 356s and is a perfect blend of unfiltered driving enjoyment and long-distance touring comfort. Thanks to the modifications on this car, it is ready for a drive on your favorite backroads, a classic rally or your local Porsche meet- this car is special enough to do it all. 1958 Porsche 356A 1600 Super Convertible D ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC by Pininfarina
THE GENTLEMAN’S FERRARI What is a gentleman’s Ferrari? It is a car that is not about outright performance, but rather a Ferrari that combines stunning performance bred through success in motorsport, alongside luxury and sophistication; a car tractable enough to use for extended journeys, on a daily basis, or on a special occasion. Perhaps most importantly, this is a car that does all of this, but also does not shout about its presence. Simply put, the gentleman’s Ferrari is a grand tourer par excellence. It is a car that is known to those that know, and one that blends in with traffic to everyone else. To the cognoscenti, the epitome of the gentleman’s Ferrari is the 330 GTC. Slotting in between the four-seat 330 GT 2+2 and Ferrari’s then-flagship 275 GTB, it combined the aspects of both cars to make for an exceptional driving experience. Utilizing the same steering, suspension, and transmission as the 275 GTB, at its heart was a 4.0-litre V-12 engine, good for transporting the 330 GTC to 60 mph from a standstill in seven seconds and onwards to a top speed of 150 mph. As the 330 GTC was a two-seater, its wheelbase was shorted by 10 inches over the 330 GT 2+2, making it much more dynamic to drive yet still entirely practical for two passengers, with copious boot space and a rear parcel shelf behind the seats. Completed in early 1967, this 330 GTC, chassis number 09537, was originally finished in the suitably subtle colour scheme of Marrone (19378 M) paintwork over a Beige (VM 3218) Connolly leather interior. Destined for Ferrari’s home market, the car was originally delivered to a Mr. Pirri of Rome through Motor S.a.s. By 1970, the car was exported to the US where it was sold to Steve Lawing of High Point, North Carolina in 1971. Ludwig kept the car for the following four years, during which he advertised the car for sale in the January 1975 issue of Road & Track magazine, describing it as “mink brown with a champagne interior…exceptionally nice and often mistaken for brand new”, having been driven for some 27,000 miles at that point. Chassis number 09537 would move north with its next owner, William R. Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Passing through another owner in Maryland, its next owner would be Louis Baldwin of Wilmington, Delaware, who retained the car for the following fifteen years, which included a move across the country to San Jose, California. The 330 GTC finally returned across the pond in the mid-2000s, still finished in its original colour scheme. Having spent several years in Italy, by 2011 the car was purchased by an owner in the UK and subsequently road-registered. That owner decided to undertake a full restoration with Hoyle-Fox Classics in Essex. With work starting in late 2013, the car was stripped down to bare metal and restored in its present and highly attractive colour scheme of Blue Sera over a Pelle Grigio leather interior. During the restoration, the car was fitted with air conditioning, an option available when new but one that was not originally fitted to chassis 09537, but which was clearly a very welcome addition for warm weather motoring. When the restoration work was completed in 2016, the car was granted Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming that the car retains its original chassis, engine, and gearbox. In the car’s history file are invoices for the restoration work and correspondence between its then-owner and Hoyle-Fox Classics chronicling the restoration. Just 598 330 GTCs were built from 1966 to 1968, and today they are still excellent cars to use and enjoy, with copious performance more than capable of handling modern day traffic. Well-preserved in its as-restored state with the current owner, this 330 GTC presents beautifully throughout, having covered minimal milage since its restoration. Restored in a very attractive colour scheme and boasting Ferrari Classiche certification, this 330 GTC needs nothing but a new owner willing to experience the ideal gentleman’s Ferrari at its best. 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC by Pininfarina RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1975 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' Spider Conversion
This example was supplied new as a RHD coupe by Maranello Concessionaires to Mr W.J.’Billy’ Skelly of Motherwell. With his father running a Ford, Morris and Lea-Francis dealership in Motherwell, and a student upbringing building race specials with help from Norman Dewis and Ken Wharton, he was no stranger to competition. No doubt inspired by his motorsport endeavours, Mr Bealey of Maranello Concessionaires noted Skelly’s request for ‘Bugatti Blue’ on the Daytona to succeed his GTC of the time. ‘Bugatti Blue’ would be granted in the form of Azzurro Dino, with the interior in tan and factory fitted air-conditioning. On a trip to Monaco in June 1973, Billy saw a freshly arrived Daytona in the local Ferrari dealership. Upon his return, he wrote once more to Maranello Concessionaires to request they leave the plastic coverings on the sills as they were prone to damage. He further noted the request for ‘transparent side light glass for the car’ as he was concerned they would look odd in yellow with the car ‘almost Royal blue’ in colour. Mr Skelly retained the Daytona for a year and shortly after that it would end up in the care of Mr Gordon Claridge of Berkhamstead. Claridge was known for his Ferraris, each wearing a cherished registration mark beginning ‘PAR’ and for his unusual colour choices. Claridge had previously owned a 275 GTB/4, new to the UK in Nocciola, a warm metallic caramelised hazelnut shade. With this Daytona still resplendent in its Azzurro Dino hue and now with gold wheels to match the P-Series cars of the time; Claridge would retain the Daytona for 20 years. The Daytona was used as he did all of his Ferraris; on longer trips to his residence in Cornwall. Ensuring each of his cars were kept in fine fettle, the Daytona was exclusively serviced by Maranello Concessionaires during his ownership. He finally sold the car in 1994 with 40,000 miles through Coys of Kensington. The car’s second owner, a prominent Ferrari collector, purchased the Daytona from a Bonhams auction, the catalogue highlighting the Azzurro Dino hue. The car was kept the car within his UK based stable and meticulous servicing continued with Maranello Concessionaires. When the car was sold, once more through a Bonhams auction, the new owner refinished the Daytona in the period shade of Rosso Rubino. This Daytona was purchased by its current custodian in 2001. Shortly after purchase, the 365 was entrusted into the capable hands of Kevin O’Rourke of Mototechnique. Renowned for their work on Ferrari’s of all levels, the Daytona was subjected to a total restoration, and at that time, a conversion to 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder configuration. With the car taken down to bare metal, the car was refinished in the iconic Rosso Corsa coachwork it presents with today. Accompanied by a comprehensive history folio, this Daytona spider presents superbly as an eminently usable proposition and is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately. 1975 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' Spider Conversion D.K. - 1974 Ford Escort 'AVO' MK1 RS 2000
With their Escort doing so well in the world of rallying, it made sense that Ford would try and sell developed versions beyond the usual homologation specials. The job of creating more widely-produced, fast Escorts was left to Ford's new Advanced Vehicle Operations, based in Essex. Following up on the rather complex RS1600 of 1970 came the Mexico and RS2000 which were far more suited to the man in the street. In June 1973, the Mexico was supplanted by the RS2000 and the model fitted nicely into the AVO line up with its performance almost comparable to the RS1600, but with the same reliability and ease of maintenance as the Mexico. Importantly, the RS2000 utilised the same Type-49-body shell as the Mexico and RS1600. The RS2000 was the first Escort to be powered by the overhead cam four-pot, as Ford decided that their 1993cc "Pinto" engine was to be used in the new model. However, Ford faced the problem of persuading the bulky Pinto engine to fit into the engine bay and, the only way of achieving this was to discard the engine-driven cooling fan and replace it with a thermostatically controlled Kenlowe unit. When finally nestled in place, the Pinto engine produced 100bhp and the RS2000 once again proved to be a quick and delightful car to drive, whilst being more accessible to buy and still offering customers a great choice in terms of colours and options. Finished in its original factory hue of Olympic Blue with a grey cloth interior, this fabulous RS2000 is offered fresh from an exacting professional restoration and, with work just completed, it’s clear to see the lengths that have been taken to preserve the original detail with the standard of workmanship being exemplary. No stone has been left unturned with every nut, bolt washer and screw having received attention. The matching-numbers engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by Ridgeway Racing Engines with particular attention to detail as Paul Broadway, the founder of Ridgeway Racing Engines, was the previous custodian having had the Escort in his care for some 27 years. The original Twin 40 DHLA Dell’Orto carbs have been replaced by a pair of 45DCOE Webers on a Simpson stainless-steel manifold with burnt gases exited through a stainless-steel 2.5’’ sports exhaust system. Delve a little deeper and you see the original etched glass still in place, even the original radiator has been retained rather than replaced simply requiring a new core. Similarly, the suspension and braking system have been fully overhauled as required and the car now sits on the correct RS-Ronal 7.5’’x13’’ four-spoke alloys wearing fresh Nankang rubber. The interior has also received the same level of attention with a retrim by Aldridge Trimming and the delicate dashboard veneers carefully refinished. So fresh, in fact, is the build that a period of running-in is strongly recommended to obtain the very best from this spectacular Ford. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the detail of this RS2000 which is as clean on the underside as it is on top. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright With their Escort doing so well in the world of rallying, it made sense that Ford would try and sell developed versions beyond the usual homologation specials. The world premiere of the Porsche Carrera RS took place at the Salon Paris in October 1972. Originally it was planned to produce only a limited quantity of 500 examples, but even before the Porsche RS was presented to the press, the whole edition was completely sold out. This Porsche 911 2.7 RS was delivered to the Gentlemen Racer Pierre Lelong by the Porsche dealer Sonauto in France in January 1973. From 1973 to 1986, the first owner took part in the “Tour de France” a total of 14 times with this car. The owner history, racing history and total mileage are sensationally documented. The original purchase order with the new car invoice and the maintenance passport are still available. This unique Porsche RS also impresses with its largely untouched bodywork condition with a total mileage of just 58,330 km. The transmission (engine and gearbox) was completely overhauled in the course of a careful partial restoration by engine specialist Manfred Rugen. A dyno sheet, Porsche certificate and a German historic registration are available. The vehicle was inspected by a renowned Porsche RS specialist, including a number check. 1973 Porsche 911 Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
