The E-type Series I was introduced in Europe on March 15, 1961, at the Geneva Motor Show, and in the United States in April of the same year at the New York Auto Show. When the car was first presented, the owner of an Italian car manufacturer called it "the most beautiful car ever made." Do you know who we are talking about? Among most enthusiasts, the Fixed Head Coupe model of the Series 1 is the most sought-after. Its elegant lines are proof of an unmistakable iconic status in the automotive world, one without which no collection is truly complete. And this E-Type Series 1? A true cool classic among cool classics! Right at the top of the hierarchy! This Series 1 4.2 FHC was delivered to its first owner in New York in 1967. It was later selected by the specialists at Carrozzeria Franco in Italy for a complete restoration, where every part was meticulously documented and awarded a Class 1 certificate for originality. It retains all of its matching numbers, original color combination, and original registration papers. We have carefully prepared it, and it is now ready for you to take out on the road! 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 FHC Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The Lotus Elan has become a benchmark sports car thanks to its sublime steering and precise handling, and it perfectly embodies the lightweight ethos of legendary marque founder Colin Chapman. The Elan Sprint being offered for sale here was first registered in January 1973, which was the final year of Elan production at the Hethel factory. A replacement Lotus galvanised chassis was fitted during the mid-1990s, having been sourced from marque specialist Mick Miller, and more recently the car has been treated to an in-depth mechanical refurbishment. A solid driveshaft conversion was carried out, replacing the standard Rotoflex couplings, a Safety Devices roll bar with side-intrusion bars was installed, and the interior was retrimmed in black leather. A new hood was fitted and the Elan now sports genuine Minilite centre-lock alloy wheels. In 2017, new stub axles and rear wheel bearings were fitted, and the braking system was overhauled. Three years later, the Twin Cam engine was rebuilt by JSWL Classics, after which dyno testing showed that it was producing 140bhp at the flywheel. It also benefits from electronic ignition and an alternator upgrade. In 2022, the Elan was sold to its current owner – a discerning collector and marque enthusiast– via renowned Lotus specialist Paul Matty. As a late Sprint, it’s a highly desirable example of a car that still has few peers when it comes to pure driving pleasure. 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1973-alfa-romeo-2000-gtv
The final top-of-the-range model in the Giulia GT series presented in September 1963 was the 2000 GT Veloce – known as the GTV for short – which Alfa Romeo unveiled in June 1971 (Tipo 105.21). Its 1’962 cc engine (Tipo 512) is a bored-out version of the 1750 engine and delivers 129 DIN hp, enabling a top speed of 200 km/h. Externally, the front end is largely identical to that of the 1750 GTV. However, the ‘new’ coupé was given a continuous chrome radiator grille with an integrated Alfa Romeo Scudetto. The rear end was redesigned – the 2000 GTV is the only member of the family to have wide rear lights, which also incorporate the reversing lights. Our 2000 GTV, built in 1973, was probably delivered in Italy and imported to Switzerland shortly afterwards. It was first registered in this country on 5 April 1974. The history of this fantastic coupé is unknown. According to the vehicle registration document, however, it was registered in the canton of Vaud before going to its last owner in the canton of Valais in 2017. The latter deregistered the car in August 2019 and parked it in his garage. The bodywork of the GTV was obviously restored and repainted a few years ago. The interior was fitted with a new set of carpets some time ago but is otherwise in good original condition. The popular coupé is currently in very good overall condition and will be sold with the most recent veteran MOT completed in September 2025. 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1968-maserati-ghibli-47-by-ghia
Unveiled to fanfare at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Maserati Ghibli combined alluring fastback bodywork by noted designer Giorgetto Giugiaro with proven performance from the Italian automaker’s 4.7-liter V-8, creating one of the most appealing grand tourers of the decade. Named for swift desert winds on the North African coast, the Ghibli’s performance more than matched its billing: the 310-horsepower engine with four carburetors, quad camshafts, and dry-sump lubrication pushed the svelte coupe to speeds beyond 164 mph. Maserati produced a total of 1,170 Ghibli Coupes from 1967 through 1973. Ordered new by Brussels Maserati dealer François Staumont on behalf of Mr. Théo Vercoutere in late 1967, a letter from Staumont to Maserati dated 28 November 1967 notes that the car was destined for display at the Brussels Motor Show. Chassis 180 was delivered on 29 December, finished in Celeste Chiaro over Blu leather, and exhibited a few weeks later. This Ghibli is believed to have had a second Belgian owner before being acquired by Peter Jansens in 1985. He retained the car for two years and then sold it to Bruun van Leeuwen, via Kroymans. Under Jansens’ care, the car is said to have had rust repairs and a respray. Mr. Leeuwen owned this Ghibli until 1999; the work he and other owners carried out is noted in a document on file. The Maserati changed hands twice more before a subsequent owner out of Germany acquired it in November 2011. He would commission Roda Classica out of Portugal to restore the car in 2016, invoices for which are on file. The work included repairing the bodywork as necessary before respraying it in factory-correct Celeste Chiaro and rebuilding the engine, gearbox, and other components. The interior had previously been refinished in Senape leather and was cleaned but otherwise left intact with its appealing patina. In November 2023, the Maserati would briefly pass to another German owner before ending up with a dealer in the Netherlands, from whom the consignor acquired it in June 2024 and had it imported to the United States later that year. With its numbers-matching 4.7-liter V-8 engine, exterior refinished in the factory-correct body color, and known history with period motor show provenance, this Ghibli appeals on many levels and will provide much enjoyment whether showing or touring. 1968 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 by Ghia RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1975-porsche-930-turbo-30
A Porsche that sharpens every one of your senses: the Porsche 930 Turbo. Among enthusiasts, it is famously known as the Widowmaker. Why the Widow? Because this ‘neunelfer’, in addition to its exceptional 3.0-litre boxer engine, is equipped with a substantial turbo. The 911S was already renowned for its dual personality. You could cruise in comfort, but the moment you demanded power from the boxer, you had to be fully attentive, with the majority of the weight resting over the rear axle. The name Widowmaker should already set the senses alight, yet the car is not truly “dangerous.” After all, Ferdinand Porsche himself presented the very first 930 Turbo to his daughter, Louise Piech. The recognition of this fiery 911’s potential is far from modest. Perhaps the 911 Turbo lineage mirrors the life of a typical artist: it began (with the 930) wild and untamed, leaving many deeply impressed and occasionally sprawled in the hedgerows. Today, after decades of refinement, structure, and balance, they are more controlled, less eccentric, and the experience is somewhat “tamer.” At the time, the 930 Turbo was a direct competitor to the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 365 GT4 BB. With a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.8 seconds, it remains an incredibly rapid car even today. Following the announcement of its production, Porsche was inundated with orders and reservations. The initial plan to produce 500 “first editions” was immediately doubled to 1,000. Ultimately, just under 18,000 units were delivered worldwide, leaving many early customers eager to secure one. And it is precisely one of those 500 “first edition” examples that we now have in our showroom! Originally delivered in Germany and residing in the Netherlands since 1991, its stamped service booklets confirm the original mileage. Special features include the turbo stripes on the rear, gold-lettered Porsche logos on the doors, and rare gold-painted wheels—perfectly capturing the retro, audacious spirit of Porsche engineers in the 1970s. There is so much more to tell, and we warmly invite serious collectors to submit an enquiry about this truly remarkable piece of automotive history. 1975 Porsche 930 Turbo 3.0 Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1964-alpine-a110-1100-v70
Few sports cars combine potent performance, nimble handling, beauty, and rarity quite like the Alpine A110. Featuring Renault mechanicals and shapely fiberglass bodywork, the petite, rear-engine A110 is one of the greatest European rally cars of its decade. Revered for its handling and performance, the A110 established a formidable reputation in the late 1960s and early 1970s with various wins in the International Championship for Manufacturers—forerunner to the World Rally Championship—but truly cemented its name in rally folklore at the first ever WRC event, the 1973 Monte Carlo Rally. Jean-Claude Andruet led an incredible 1-2-3 finish for the Renault-backed factory team as the A110 overpowered rivals from Fiat, Ford, and Lancia. Alpine-Renault proceeded almost unchallenged to claim that year’s manufacturer’s championship. This well-loved example has traveled across the Atlantic multiple times to be enjoyed by appreciative and attentive owners on two continents. Its chassis number confirms the car was manufactured in 1964, though little is known of its early history. Correspondence on file suggests that it was exported from southern France to North America in the late 1970s with a stripped interior and other competition features offered from the factory in period. At some point the car’s 1,108-cubic-centimeter four-cylinder engine was replaced with a later 1,255-cubic-centimeter Gordini inline-four from an A110 1300 G, which would later be tuned to 1300 S specification, displacing 1,296 cubic centimeters. Service invoices dating from 1978 indicate a Toronto-based owner ordered parts directly from Renault France and had the car serviced in Toronto, including having the cylinders honed in June 1981. In September 1993, the Alpine passed to its next owner, who drove it from Toronto across Canada and the United States to his home in Vancouver, British Columbia, later enjoying it on trips down the California coast. In the early 2000s the Alpine passed to an owner in Columbia, South Carolina, who had the four-speed manual gearbox replaced with a five-speed and the engine tuned and valves adjusted. In 2005, this owner would sell the car to its next caretaker based in the United Kingdom, who would register it not for road use, secure its Historic Technical Passport, and drive it competitively in UK hill climbs and club events throughout the mid-to-late 2000s. Under his care, the Alpine would see extensive servicing and upkeep, including installing a roll cage and replacing the Plexiglass rear window, exhaust manifold, silencer, clutch, and tires in 2006; having the engine removed to repair a cracked connecting rod; installing a new clutch kit in 2009 and a new fuel pump and electrical work in 2010. In 2012 The Autoshop Accident Repair Centre in Stroud, Gloucestershire, would strip the body of paint, repair damaged fiberglass bodywork throughout, and repaint the car in blue. Photos for the work are on file. In 2013, the same shop would repair cracks and holes in the dash and repaint it in a black crackle finish. Following this owner’s thorough enjoyment and dutiful care, the Alpine would pass to a couple of other UK-based owners before crossing the Atlantic once again to Sonoma, California. He would retain the car for two years, after which the consignor would acquire it in October 2022. Today, the car presents well, featuring a beautifully finished replacement interior in tan leather with attractive diamond-quilted pattern and racing harnesses. Period features such as three-lug factory-style alloy wheels and fog lamps enhance the presentation. Now offered with a history file with invoices, correspondence, registrations, export documents, and more, this well-loved Alpine-Renault is ready for its next adventure. 1964 Alpine A110 1100 V70 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Highlights of this Alfa Romeo Superlative restoration to very high standards One of 589 1964 Spiders built in the final series Three documented long-term owners Offered with rare factory hardtop Accompanied by boxes of binders, files, trophies, and photos History of the Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider Even at the outset of their earliest years, Alfa Romeo quickly proved their merits as leaders in design and engineering. This reputation prevailed in both competition cars and road cars benefiting from superlative engineering and exceptional design. The performance delivered from their twin-cam engines created a fantastic combination of prestige and performance. Following World War II, Alfa Romeo transitioned to more nimble, small displacement four-cylinder cars, but preference for the six-cylinder engine remained in their Gran Turismo cars. This engine, a direct descendant of the legendary pre-war dual overhead camshaft design, offered increased displacement to 2584cc, producing 145hp, fed by triple Solex twin-choke carburetors. The exotic alloy motor was both durable and reliable, famously serving the Italian Carbinieri's "Squadra Volante" as high-speed police pursuit vehicles. In the spirit of the great 6C cars, the 2600 series offered beautifully designed and patented Superleggera coachwork from Touring of Italy, which blended perfectly with Alfa Romeo engineering and superlative performance. Unlike the many higher volume production cars of the era, the 2600 continued with handmade construction traditions carefully developed and pioneered under patent at Touring. When the first examples were completed, the 2600 revealed itself to be a capable performance car with just the right balance of comfort and luxury, offering superb open-air road manners. Although more suited for long distance driving, given the larger displacement, wider torque band, standard 5-speed transmission, and spacious storage, the 2600 Spider became popular among driving enthusiasts who appreciated the comfort, performance, and ease of use these cars offered. These criteria still ring true today as collectors have increasingly realized how perfectly matched these cars are for events and tours, particularly when compared to contemporary Ferraris of the era at a fraction of their current market price. History of this Alfa Romeo Touring Spider According to research gathered by the current owner and documented in the copious notebooks assembled for this car, this Alfa Romeo 2600 was produced in late 1964 and delivered to the first owner, a US military officer stationed in Belgium. A series II European specification spider, the car was built with Italian metric gauges, Carello lighting marked “Fur Deutchland”, four-wheel disc brakes, and a rear opening hood. The car was initially delivered to an American military officer who first licensed it in Belgium before shipping it to the US in the 1970s. The officer retained the car for 17 years in the Washington DC area until selling it to the next owner in 1981, also a resident of the metro DC area. The second owner also retained the car for 17 years until consignment with Motorcar Gallery in 1998. The current owner purchased the car on October 22, 1998 (purchase invoice included with documentation) from Motorcar Gallery, Fort Lauderdale, FL with (1)09,642 kilometers recorded on the 1998 odometer statement. At the time of purchase, the car was finished in red with black leather interior. After his purchase, the third and current owner transported the car to Northern California in 1998 where it has remained for the past 27 years. A dedicated enthusiast, the current owner commissioned a cost-no-object restoration to the highest standards documenting the entire process which included initial years of research and six years of restoration efforts engaging some of the very best specialists in their field, followed by years of ongoing refinement, detailed improvements, and in the past five years further mechanical efforts culminating in one of the finest restorations of a series II spider. The restoration began with complete disassembly of the unibody, removal of all glass, doors, hood, and trunk lid, and mounting on a rotisserie for floor pan, rocker, and other sheet metal work. Hans Turley, Auburn, CA, a trained European body specialist performed the body and paint work finishing it in metallic silver, an Alfa Romeo color from the period. Of particular note and impossibly rare, an original factory hardtop was finished in gloss black and retains the original complex curved rear glass. The interior was finished in blue leather by veteran Pebble Beach winners Ken and Cindy Nemenic, Walnut Creek, CA. Credited with numerous Pebble Beach class wins and bests of show, the Nemenics are considered among the premier interior restoration specialists in the world. The interior was trimmed with Connolly leather for the seats and side panels, and Wilton Wool carpets. The finishes were supported by correct period materials, correct patterns, and padding, while the dash was recovered in black. All interior trim was carefully restored to factory specifications including the correct canvas top and inner liner. The beautifully restored correct Nardi wood rim wheel and Blaupunkt radio were original equipment when delivered new. All gauges, switches, window cranks, and other interior details were also comprehensively restored, here too on a cost no object basis. Under the hood, the 2600 engine and all electrical, fuel, and mechanical accessories were carefully restored by Alfa Romeo expert Laurence Anderson, Berkeley, CA. Fitted from the factory with Weber carburetors, specialized intake manifold and independent runners, the alloy block seven main bearing engine was rebuilt including all rotational assembly, oil cooler, and finned oil sump. The induction system, exhaust, cooling, oil system, brakes and suspension system with Koni shock absorbers, rebuilt steering box, all new bushings, lines, hoses, and other components were also comprehensively restored to the highest standards finishing with Pirelli tires mounted on professionally rebuilt original Borrani 400mm wire wheels which, according to the current owner’s notes, the original owner specified with his purchase when new. Upon completion of the restoration, the car was shown at the 2008 Palo Alto Concours d’Elegance and continued to be refined through the ongoing years as the owner sorted details and performance improvements over the next seventeen years. In 2016 and 2017 the engine was removed and dyno tested at Hasselgren Engineering, Berkeley, CA including improvements to the carburetion and overall engine operation. By 2022 the car was delivered to Italian sports car experts Epifani Restorations, Berkeley, CA. The engine and transmission were removed and the engine delivered to Hasselgren while further work was performed on the car through 2024. Invoices accompanying the car include disassembling the engine components and delivering the engine to Hasselgren for testing, rebuilding the brake calipers including master cylinder, rebuilding the clutch master and slave cylinders, radiator and oil cooler repair, install new u-joints, new throwout bearing installed, forks and shifter gate adjusted, wiring harness installed, and final assembly with testing, adjustments, all new fluids, and final fit and finish of repainted parts and details as part of the $25,000 worth of work performed at this time. Over the span of current ownership, it is estimated that more than $400k was spent on the restoration of this car. And while this is a monumental amount, the results achieved by a dedicated enthusiast unafraid to seek out the best workmanship from top-tier suppliers and craftsmen speaks volumes when viewing the exceptional results achieved in this 2600 Spider. The following awards were received for this car. Where noted, the trophy and ribbons are included with the car: 2008 Palo Alto Concors d'Elegance - 1st in Class (award) 2005 Concorso Italiano Italian Exhibitor (ribbon) 2004 Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance - 3rd in Class (award and paperweight) 2004 Silverado Concours d'Elegance - 3rd place (award, dash plaque, ribbon) Current Condition and Presentation Today this beautiful Alfa 2600 presents in exceptionally fine condition featuring smooth and glossy silver metallic paint throughout. The overall finish features a fine metal flake, excellent panel work, and vivid reflections. The body panels and gaps are excellent with hood and trunk easily opened and closed including the doors, which have crisp closures and solid latching. The chrome is excellent throughout with consistent finish and contours even on parts that more typically will show pitting or crazing over time. The door handles, side trim, and headlight trim are quite nice including the thin windshield trim, Carello headlights, lenses, and lighting. The tail lights and one front indicator light show cracks in the lensing, which is understandable given the rarity of these pieces, but spare replacement parts are included with the car. The grille work and lighting are unique to this design and are ideally mated to the bodywork. The elegant body lines are very reminiscent of the Ferrari 250 PF Cabriolet, further enhanced by proportions and perfect stance highlighted by the elegant silver finish. The beautifully finished Borrani wire wheels are shod with period correct Pirelli Cinturato radial tires which enhance the delicate wheel flares and low-profile convertible beltline. The stunning medium blue leather interior is exceptional throughout. Finished by expert upholsterer and veteran Pebble Beach winners Ken and Cindy Nemenic, the Connelly leather seats, door panels, rear seating area, dashboard, and numerous other interior features are beautifully tailored. The elegant soft blue color is the ideal companion to the silver exterior delivering fashionable Italian style invoking the 1960s. A set of seat belts are installed using appropriate woven belt material and vintage buckles. The Wilton wool carpeting over the central tunnel is in excellent condition and well matched to the leather color. The dashboard is beautifully finished and a delight to the eye. The instruments have clear lenses with contrasting color dials and consistent finishes. The correct co steering wheel and horn emblem are handsome accents to the interior as are the various accessories, switches, and control knobs. The convertible top is in excellent condition as is the clear plastic rear window, latch mechanisms, and restored top bows. The trunk is finished with a correct rubber mat and proper battery surround with textured materials. Under the floor the spare tire well houses a full-sized Borrani wheel and Pirelli tire. The original wood tool case and tools are included, containing a selection of various tools and tire pressure gauge. The engine compartment is consistent with the excellence achieved in the restoration revealing a sublime twin-cam triple carburetor array of motoring excellence. The engine and engine compartment are well-detailed, correctly finished, and feature correct yellow fuel lines, original factory stampings and chassis plates, and other hallmarks of Alfa Romeo handmade construction. The car is equipped with rare triple Weber carburetors and factory intake manifold which have been dialed in by Hasselgren Engineering, and the engine has been dyno tested which is documented with power output charts and results recorded with the documentation accompanying this car. The underside of the car has been properly restored and serviced with finishes that can confidently present at any concours event. Details of note include a finned alloy oil pan, Koni shock absorbers, correct rear axle limit straps, correct exhaust, and recently replaced suspension bushings and brake lines. The car starts easily, settling into a smooth loping idle. The 5-speed synchromesh gearbox shifts well and the disc brakes and independent coil spring front suspension work in harmony with the chassis and weight of the car. As the owner chose to build the engine with performance in mind, with 200+hp on tap, even a skilled driver will need some time getting to know the nature of this high-strung motor. Though starts are smooth and gentle, power comes on quickly as the engine pulls hard and fast through the power band. Keeping the revs up and maintaining momentum makes for an exhilarating drive. Handling is very satisfying, with excellent road manners at higher speeds and delightful cruising with the top down. This beautifully restored three-owner 2600 Spider is a superb open Italian coachbuilt sports car with similar characteristics found in a Ferrari PF Cabriolet or Maserati Vignale at a fraction of the price. Ready for shows, tours, or engaging open air driving, the Alfa Romeo 2600 continues to be recognized as one of the most elegant and timeless touring cars of the Golden Age of sports cars – one that will surely be enjoyed by generations of enthusiasts for years to come. Included with this Alfa Romeo This 2600 Spider is accompanied by the factory hardtop tools in the original tool case, a trove of documentation including four bankers boxes of photos, correspondences, specifications, handwritten parts and specification notes and vendor details, restoration photos, purchase documentation, and original reference materials as well as binders with reference service manuals and a presentation folio. Also included is a car cover, an Alfa Romeo branded sweater, trophies, award plaques, and ribbons from concours wins, a spare tail light lens and front indicator lenses, pedal pads and spare pedals, various spare engine parts, spare brake parts, a set of Wilwood front brake calipers and BG rear calipers, and an assortment of service manuals. 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1962-mercedes-benz-190-sl
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL stands as a perfect example of how listening to customer feedback can shape automotive history. Following the launch of the 300 SL, an astute American Mercedes dealer remarked that while enthusiasm for the model was immense, its price placed it out of reach for many who desired a weekend sports car. Stuttgart responded swiftly: that same year, the 190 SL—built on the Ponton platform—was unveiled at the New York Motor Show. Just twelve months later, the production version made its debut in Geneva. Interestingly, Mercedes never intended the 190 SL to be a pure sports car, but rather a refined two-seater grand tourer. The formula proved a resounding success, with more than 25,000 examples produced between 1955 and 1963. Our 190 SL has enjoyed a fascinating and beautifully documented life. First registered in the USA in 1962, it remained with its original owner for many years. From 1975 through to 2008, every annual Virginia Police inspection and service invoice was carefully retained — a truly rare level of provenance. Upon arrival in the Netherlands, the car was treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration and refinished in its exquisite original shade of Hellblau. The result is nothing short of superb. This exceptional example checks every box and is ready to be enjoyed immediately. - 1970-lancia-fulvia-fanalone-1600-hf-club-italia
This beautifully presented HF Rallye 'Fanalone' - Club Italia is powered by a 1,584cc DOHC V4 fuelled by twin-40mm Webers, offering 143bhp and weighing just 825kg. It looks fabulous in period correct Marlboro livery and is ready to rally in numerous historic events. During the late 1960s, the wonderfully nimble line of front-wheel drive Lancia Fulvia ‘Hi-Fi’ Coupes reigned consistently amongst the highest echelon of International Rally contenders, driven most prominently by a galaxy of world-class stars. Originally 1,298cc and 101bhp, these little coupés began to be campaigned by the Lancia factory team in 1966, achieving second place finishes in the Monte Carlo and Three Cities Rallies, the Team Prize in the Rallye dei Fiori, performing brilliantly on the rugged Acropolis Rally in Greece, and even scored circuit racing class wins in both the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring 1,000km classics. The cars were uprated to 1,440cc and some 120bhp in 1967, taking first and second places in the Spanish Rally and Tour de Corse, second on the Acropolis and sixth in Sweden. In 1968, Pat Moss and Liz Nystrom won the Coupe des Dames in the Monte Carlo Rally and were second at San Remo. Into 1969, 1,600cc engines were developed and Källström/Häggbom won both the San Remo and RAC Rallies, and the cars took another second place in the Monte Carlo classic, sixth in the Swedish Rally and fourth and fifth in the Alpine. Success continued into 1970 when Sandro Munari won the GT category in the Targa Florio, Källström/Häggbom won their second RAC Rally in Great Britain and Lampinen/Davenport won the TAP Rally in Portugal. The Fulvia 1.6 HF Rallye 'Fanalone' (christened so by Italian enthusiasts due to its larger inner headlights) was a thoroughly thought-out factory-built racing car that tipped the scales at a mere 825kg. With extensive use of aluminium and Plexiglas, Girling disc brakes and Campagnolo alloy wheels set at a negative camber, every aspect of the car represented function over form. Fully prepared for rally competition, this particularly attractive, Club Italia example promises its new owner tremendous fun behind the wheel. Built for competition, the 1,584cc, DOHC, narrow-angle V4 is fuelled by twin-40mm Webers and a Dyno print-out shows some 143bhp on unleaded fuel at 7,450rpm. The original engine also accompanies the car as do four competition wheels plus four snow-equipped wheels/tyres. It's fitted with a pair of OMP bucket seats and harnesses, Twin-master Rallye GT trip meter, plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, bolt-in roll cage, a competition fuel tank, and a rare 10,000rpm rev counter. The car is finished in period correct Marlboro livery and is described by the vendor as being in very good running order and essentially ready to rally in numerous historic events. Whilst it's been in our vendor's possession, it has been looked after and maintained by respected specialists, Hall & Hall. Supplied with a good history file, including a Steinbacher Report from 2018, the car is currently registered in Austria but will be UK-registered by the time of the sale. The Fulvia marked Lancia’s glorious and victorious return to motorsport, carving a niche in the rallying scene, paving the way for an era of dominance in the World Rally Championship far from the spotlight hogged by its successors – the Stratos, O37 and Delta Integrale. This beautifully presented 1600 HF is part of that pedigree and we invite and encourage you to come along to the NEC and see this sparkling 'Fanalone' for yourself. 1970 Lancia Fulvia 'Fanalone' 1600 HF Club Italia Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
