The theatrics of an open roof but before the addition of busy aerodynamic appendages. Arguably Luc Donckerwolke’s design for the Lamborghini Murciélago never looked better than when seen in Roadster LP580-4 guise. The beautifully specified example offered here was originally purchased as one half in a pair of Murciélagos. It was ordered new by Peter Kaus to form part of his globally renowned Rosso Bianco Collection based in Aschaffenburg, near Frankfurt. Completed on 21 November 2005, the Roadster was supplied new to Germany via Lamborghini Stuttgart on 1 July alongside one of only 50 examples built of the Murciélago 40th Anniversary coupé. Expected to rub shoulders with Ferrari, Maserati, and Lancia competition car icons as part of the ensemble, the Murciélago was lavishly configured. Built in left-hand-drive form, it was specified wearing exquisite Giallo Orion paintwork over a Nero Perseus leather interior contrasted by Giallo stitching. Notable extras included Parktronic rear parking sensors, a wind protector, Carbon Package, and a carbon fibre engine bay support X-brace. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V-12 engine, rated at 580 horsepower, was paired with the fashionable six-speed “E-Gear” automated-manual transmission option. The Roadster remained with Kaus through until 2014. Thereafter, it was placed into storage and maintained by marque specialists Top Motors Salvioli and Cremonini Classic in Italy. Since March 2017, the Murciélago has been registered for road use in the United Kingdom. The car gained a first-time pass upon its most recent MoT inspection in June 2026, shortly after a May service was carried out by Lamborghini expert Carrera Sport in West Sussex. Supplied with The Seven Deadly Sins and The Collection hardback brochures plus owner’s guide folio, the Murciélago Roadster boasts incredibly low use throughout its life. Accordingly, the odometer displayed a mere 570 kilometres (approximately 354 miles) at the time of cataloguing. A wonderfully preserved example of Lamborghini’s flagship, analogue supercar for the 2000s, this stunning Giallo Orion-coloured Murciélago Roadster would make for an outstanding addition to any modern-era performance-themed collection.
