The Ford Lotus Cortina is one of the most legendary British touring cars of the 1960s and, like few other cars, embodies the successful collaboration between Ford and Lotus.Introduced in 1963, the Lotus Cortina combined the light and compact bodyshell of the Ford Cortina with the 1.6-litre Twin Cam engine developed by Lotus. The result was an exceptionally agile sports car that enjoyed great success both on the circuit and in international rallying.Above all through its use by famous drivers such as Jim Clark and Sir John Whitmore, the Lotus Cortina gained international fame and became an icon of historic touring car racing. The vehicle offered here was built by the specialist Britec Motorsport from a bare body shell to a historic FIA race and rally car and offers many possibilities for use at demanding historic motorsport events. With its powerful Lotus Twin Cam engine, low vehicle weight and precise handling, the Lotus Cortina delivers an authentic and fascinating driving experience.
