Transmission Manual

Body Colour Yellow (Giallo Fer 102)

An exceptionally low-mileage, Italian-supplied Ferrari 348tb in striking Giallo Fer 102, indicating just 9,777km, with excellent presentation and documented maintenance history, emerging from a private collection. Introduced in 1989 as the successor to the 328, the Ferrari 348 represented a significant development in Maranello's mid-engined V8 lineage. Its 3.4-litre, quad-cam, 32-valve engine produced 300bhp, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed, open-gated manual gearbox. With a top speed approaching 170mph and unassisted steering, the 348 delivers the mechanical driving experience increasingly sought after by enthusiasts of Ferrari's analogue era. Its Pininfarina styling drew inspiration from the contemporary Testarossa, most notably the distinctive straked side air intakes, wide rear stance and horizontal rear lighting. The fixed-roof 348tb, or trasversale berlinetta, combined this dramatic appearance with the structural rigidity of a coupé, whilst its longitudinally mounted V8 and transverse gearbox represented an important departure from its predecessor's engineering. This particular left-hand drive example, chassis ZFFKA35B000092157, was supplied new through Symbol Car SpA in Milan on 7th January 1992. Finished in Giallo Fer 102, it offers a striking alternative to the more commonly encountered Rosso Corsa examples, its exceptional condition and remarkably low indicated mileage making it particularly worthy of consideration. It is believed that this Ferrari formed part of an Italian private Collection before arriving in the UK, where it was first registered on 23rd August 1998, subsequently carrying the UK registration 88 YFK. By 2012, with just 6,106km recorded, it was being maintained by Ferrari specialists Terry Keys Motorsport of Silverstone, who considered the mileage consistent with its condition. Its service book contains three stamps, all from Terry Keys Motorsport, recording a basic service on 28th June 2012 at 6,106km, cam belt and water pump replacement on 23rd August 2012 at 6,109km, and further cam belt servicing with tensioner bearing replacement on 18th August 2016 at 6,860km. The accompanying documentation includes Italian export papers, UK MOT history from 2016 onwards and supporting invoices, together with the original Ferrari leather wallet containing the technical manual, service book, dealer network booklet and Blaupunkt audio manual. Now indicating just 9,777km, approximately 6,075 miles, this 348tb has remained within our vendor's private Collection, spending the last few years largely in storage whilst receiving planned maintenance and periodic exercise. The exterior and interior are described as being in excellent condition, with the engine bay presenting exceptionally well. The tyres appear to be the original factory fitment, an interesting detail from a preservation or future concours perspective, although given their age they should be replaced before the car is used on the road. In preparation for the auction, the cam belts have been replaced, with an invoice for the work included in the history file. The car also benefits from a current MOT valid until June 2027. Finding a Ferrari 348tb with such low indicated mileage, particularly in this distinctive colour and with its accompanying history, is an increasingly unusual proposition. With its excellent presentation, manual gearbox and unmistakable Testarossa-inspired styling, this is an appealing example of a Ferrari that continues to find favour amongst collectors and driving enthusiasts alike.
