- 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe
This 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera has been refinished in black over a tan interior and is powered by a replacement air-cooled 2.7L flat-six that has reportedly been modified with Mahle cylinders, JE 9.5:1 pistons, Elgin camshafts, and a 911E cylinder head with twin-plug provisions. Additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, staggered-width 15? Fuchs wheels, Carrera-style brakes, a 22mm front sway bar, 26mm rear torsion bars, Bilstein shocks, a power-operated sunroof, power windows, front and rear spoilers, a Sony CD stereo, and SSI heat exchangers. This 911 Carrera was acquired by the current owner in 2016 and is now offered on dealer consignment with a tool roll, a jack, partial service records, and a clean California title in the current owner’s name. The body was finished from the factory in Light Yellow (117) and was repainted black under previous ownership. Exterior details include a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, front and rear spoilers, dual side-view mirrors, pop-out rear windows, and a single exhaust outlet. Cracking paint is visible on the roof, and paint-meter readings are provided in the gallery below. Staggered-width Fuchs 15? alloy wheels are mounted with Avon Radial tires measuring 185/70 up front and 215/60 out back. A space-saver spare is housed in the front storage compartment. The car rides on Bilstein shocks and has been fitted with steering rack spacers along with Turbo-style ball joints and tie rods. The front and rear control arm bushings and rear spring plate bushings were replaced in May 2019, at which time larger brake rotors and calipers, 26mm rear torsion bars, and a 22mm front sway bar were installed. The cabin houses front bucket seats and folding rear seats upholstered in tan leather. Interior appointments include power windows and a Sony CD stereo. A three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 42k miles, and true mileage is unknown. The speedometer was repaired by Palo Alto Speedometer in May 2021. The replacement air-cooled 2.7L flat-six is said to have been fitted with a modified 2.4E cylinder head equipped with provisions for twin plug use, along with Time-Serts, an oil bypass modification, and modified 2.2L throttle bodies. Additional equipment reportedly includes Mahle cylinders, JE forged 9.5:1 compression pistons, Elgin camshafts, and later-style Carrera hydraulic chain tensioners. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle reportedly fitted with a Sachs aluminum plate clutch. SSI heat exchanges have been fitted, and additional underside images are provided in the gallery. 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Mohr Imports, Inc. - 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 2
In 1993 Porsche introduced what is regarded by many as the most beautiful 911 of them all: the Type 993. Over the years the 911’s purity had been diluted by various safety add-ons. The Type 993 market a return to basics, being recognizably a 911 but freed of extraneous bits to spoil its lines. Beneath the beautiful body, engineers devised a new light-alloy sub frame with an all-new multi-link suspension, putting behind the previous generations’ lift-off oversteer and making significant progress with handling and refinement. The 993 was also the first 911 to receive a six-speed transmission, and engines gained variable intake and sophisticated modern electronic management. The range comprised of two- and four-wheel drive models, the legendary Turbo, and the Cabriolet convertible, all powered by the latest, 3.6-liter version of Porsche’s perennial air-cooled flat-six engine. The car we are offering here is chassis WPOZZZ99ZVS330998 and was supplied new to the German market in March 1997. It is the second generation with additional power increased from 272 to 285 bhp. Elegantly finished in Arctic silver metallic with full blue leather interior, the car boasts 4 owners with 118,800 km since new and is presented in excellent original condition throughout. Nicely optioned, the car comes with complete service book, invoice records, spare key, owner’s manual and original accessories. Available immediately with European registration. 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Laurent Auxietre If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The combination of independent suspension all around for the first time on a 2+2 model and the new torque tube arrangement made the cars quieter, more comfortable, and more capable than ever before. The inclusion of additional convenience and luxury features further enhanced the car's comfort, with standardized power steering and air conditioning. The familiar front-mounted 4.4 liter V12 and attractive Pininfarina styling ensured that the car retained all of the traditional positive Ferrari traits, and authentic Ferrari experience. In all, just 809 Queen Mothers were built, making these cars quite rare as well. According to the research of marque historian Marcel Massini, chassis 13069 was completed in December 1969 as a U.S.-market, left-hand-drive example and delivered new to Bill Harrah's Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada. Finished in the attractive and unusually seen grey shade of Grigio Ortello over Nero (black) leather upholstery, its understated original specification was complemented by optional Borrani wire wheels, while standard luxury amenities abound in the form of air conditioning, electric windows, and an AM/FM radio. In 1976 chassis 13069 was listed in the Ferrari Owner's Club membership roster as being owned by Tony Perelli of South Laguna, California. By 1979, ownership had passed to another Southern California resident and FOC member, Ronald Malin, from whom Stephen Buff acquired the car sometime during the 1980s. Buff sold the car to another Southern California-based collector in 1987, and this owner would keep and enjoy the car in the favorable sunny California climate for the next 28 years. Never undergoing a full restoration, the car was carefully preserved by its long-term custodian, who estimated that a total of over $100,000 was spent over the years maintaining the 2+2. This included refinishing the exterior and retrimming the cabin in its current silver metallic grey and Nero finishes, restoring the Borrani wire wheels, replacing the windshield, as well as recommissioning the brakes, self-leveling suspension, and all three carburetors. 13069 is further distinguished as a matching numbers example, retaining its original, triple-Weber carbureted 4.4-liter Colombo V12 engine. Its next owner will enjoy a timeless blend of vintage style, performance, and Italian tailored comfort. 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Driver Source Fine Motorcars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1966 Maserati 3500 GT
At the Turin Motor Show in 1962, Maserati presented the 3500 GTI Sebring for the first time, a 2+2-seater coupé with ravishing yet unobtrusive lines by Michelotti. In a 1963 driving review in the British magazine “Auto Sport”, John Bolster, who was rather reserved in his praise, described the Sebring as the epitome of a luxurious Gran Tourismo, from which one could still get out happy and satisfied at the end of a long day’s driving. In total, only 243 vehicles of the 3500 GT Sebring Series II Coupé were produced from 1965 to 1970. According to the available photos and invoices, this beautiful Maserati has been extensively restored by an Italian specialist. The entire technology, including the engine, was completely overhauled. The car was repainted in its original colour and the interior was renewed. - 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 1
Of all the great 1960s sports cars, few are as influential or as infamous as the legendary Shelby Cobra. A fortunate partnership between AC and their lightweight British sports car and Le Mans-winning driver Carroll Shelby resulted in the latest Ford lightweight V-8 sitting in the European fettled chassis of the Ace. The result of this transplant contributed enormously to Ford’s motorsport dominance of International Sports Car racing during the late 1960s. European chassis dynamics partnered with the power of the new V-8 meant that in competition trim, Cobras achieved an impressive record. The 260ci (4.2-litre) prototype first ran in January 1962, with production commencing later that year. Exclusively for the USA initially, Cobras - minus engines - were sent from England to be finished off by Shelby in California, and it was not until late in 1963 that AC Cars in Thames Ditton got around to building the first fully finished cars to European specification. After 75 cars had been built, the 289ci (4.7-litre) unit was standardised in 1963. Rack-and-pinion steering was the next major up-date; then in 1965 a new, stronger, coil-suspended chassis was introduced to accommodate Ford's 427ci (7.0-litre) V8, an engine that in race trim was capable of producing well in excess of 400bhp. Wider bodywork, extended wheelarch flares and a bigger radiator intake combined to create the definitive - and much copied - Cobra 427 look. This example was billed to Shelby American on the 14th May 1964 and shipped to the USA just twelve days later aboard the SS Diemerdyk, the first Holland America Line ship to be built after the war. The car was optioned new in Rouge Iris over Beige with the Class A accessories pack. The Class 'A' Accessories package added five chrome wire wheels, white wall tyres, luggage rack, outside rear-view mirror, an AM-FM radio, and antifreeze, and the car when new, totalled $5,800.05. It was supplied new by Shelby American to the Ford Motor Company in Michigan to used for sales promotion and PR. It would return to Shelby American in early 1965 at 5,177 miles to be prepared for sale. The car received a mechanical overhaul and a full repaint for an invoice totalling $720. These works took place over the course of a couple of months and the car was ready for its new owner in May 1965. Shelby American sold the car to Hi-Performance Motors in Los Angeles, less the hard top and wire wheels for just $1,000 less than list price. Hi-Performance would sell the car to Roger Moon of Paso Robles, a town halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The car would pass through Moon, to Ralph Bouchett and in the mid-1970s, to Tim Zurbriggen. It had been painted black and 5-spoke American Racing wheels were fitted. In 1979, the car was placed into storage. In 1983, the car was purchased by William ‘Billy’ & Christine Kincheloe of California. A comprehensive restoration of the car would take 9 years, the restoration would be carried out by Mike McCluskey of McCluskey Ltd. Having worked alongside Carroll Shelby restoring Cobras at the age of just 20, McCluskey would become the go-to name for their restoration in the USA and, despite originally parting ways with Shelby himself to set up his own business, it would be McCluskey Ltd whom Carroll Shelby would contact personally and task with the building of continuation Cobras in 1989. The restoration took time and no doubt the cost of the process played a role in slow progress. The Kincheloe’s were huge fans of the Cobra and American motorsport. Billy’s father had raced an Austin Healey 100/6 in the D-Class World Championship in 1960 and without doubt his passion and fastidious attention to detail would be passed down to the family line. The Kincheloe’s were immensely active socially in the Shelby American Automobile Club and the accompanying history file features a wealth of stickers, invitations, memorabilia, trophies and photographs from their time with the car. From when the car was completed in 1993 to when he parted ways with the Cobra in 2015, Billy kept a detailed logbook of each of his drives. This logbook accurately helps to date the wealth of photos and includes wonderful anecdotes and tales from his ownership. Billy and Christine affectionately named the Cobra ‘Ellen’. 03.01.1993 – Car arrives home after 10 yr rebuild - It rains for 13 consecutive days; the most rain LA’s had in 7 yrs! 21.01.1993 – Take car out for a small ride (to Prezzo to show off) 23.01.1993 – 2nd Ride …loads up, loves the freeway (3 miles) HAULS ASS- whew! – X H I L E R A T I N G!!! The logbook documents mileage, servicing and visits to events including the 1995 Ford Motor Company Mustang fantasy, where Billy proudly parked the Cobra alongside an attending guest: a P-51 Mustang. A further chance encounter in 1996 at Willow Springs saw the Cobra help introduce the Kincheloe’s to an active Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. 12.05.1996 – PS Met Lt/Col Bozek – HE FLIES THE SR71 @ Edwards. Invited me to come see ‘The Bird’ – a dream come true. Fortunately for us all, Billy took the Cobra to visit 'The Bird' and a wonderful photo was taken of the pair together. The last entry to the log notes the sale of the Cobra in 2016 to Marc Devis in Belgium. ‘A new adventure awaits, history continues, ‘Ellen’, thanks for the ride’. Shortly after its arrival in Belgium the car was sold to its current owner in the UK. Since 2016, this Cobra has been used sparingly covering just 500 miles since its arrival. Service work has been seen to by Steve Gilbey Classics, and the car will be inspected by our workshops as part of the sale. This fantastic Cobra is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately, ready to be used and enjoyed by its next custodian. 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 D.K. - 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder by Wendler 1
THE 550 SPYDER Porsche’s first purpose-built competition model, the 550 Spyder, boasted a simple yet effective tubular chassis, torsion-bar suspension, and a patent 1,500-cubic-centimeter four-cam engine, soon to be known as the Carrera. With lightweight aluminum bodywork, the 550 tipped the scales at an utterly featherweight 550 kilograms—a little over 1,200 pounds. It was remarkably swift and nimble for its size, and rapidly became the car to beat in the under-1500-cc class of most contemporary sports car events. By the end of 1954, class victories had been achieved in no lesser events than Le Mans, the Mille Miglia, and the Carrera Panamericana, not to mention numerous successes in national-level events on both sides of the Atlantic. It was one of the great, all-conquering sports cars of its time, and cemented its legend early. Between 1953 and 1956, 90 examples of the Wendler-bodied 550 Spyder customer car were produced. Almost all of these cars enjoyed ownership by enthusiasts and teams that are still well-remembered today. Not least among these was John von Neumann, as important a name in the Porsche world in the United States as could possibly be envisioned. CHASSIS NUMBER 550-0089 One of the most notable figures in the post-war American sports car scene was an Austrian immigrant named John von Neumann. Von Neumann played a significant role in introducing Porsche and Ferrari to the West Coast, in particular the vibrant and monied Southern California market. His Los Angeles-based Competition Motors served not only as a groundbreaking dealership, but as the center for his own racing team, which fielded such luminary drivers as Ken Miles, Phil Hill, Jack McAfee, and Richie Ginther. These racing legends drove von Neumann-owned cars in numerous significant events—and won many of them. Chassis number 550-0089, the second-from-last 550 production car, was specifically built for von Neumann with Wendler coachwork finished in silver with red fender “darts.” In addition to the reinforced “high frame” chassis that had by now come into practice, a very desirable feature that provided additional rigidity, it boasted several unique features added early on, including a large oval chrome grille at the rear, two scoop-style vents atop the engine bay, and louvered vents along the rear fenders, all with the goal of providing additional cooling to the engine. These resemble those later integrated into the coachwork for the upcoming production-based successor to the 550, the 550A 1500 RS. Chassis 550-0089 was first campaigned by Ginther at Pomona in October 1956, where a very minor accident during the main race forced an early retirement. The slight damage was repaired, and the car returned to the track two weeks later at Palm Springs, finishing 3rd overall. Ginther then achieved 4th in class with the car at the Cotati Rose Festival in May 1957. Von Neumann subsequently sold the Porsche later in 1957 to racing driver Jack West, who drove it in no fewer than 20 events during the 1957 and 1958 seasons, finishing 2nd in class at Hourglass Field in San Diego in 1957, 1st in class at the Tracy Sports Car Races in 1958, 3rd at the Laguna Seca Sports Car Races in 1958, and 1st in class at the Minden Gardnerville Airport Race in October 1958. The car was then briefly taken over by Katherie “Sunnie” Baker, who drove it only once but made her ride count—she won the SCCA Ladies race at Phoenix in November 1958. By 1973 the 550 was acquired by Gary Clenn, and then in 1977 it was sold to Everett Anton Singer of Roslyn Heights, New York. In 1982 it passed to Bob Tate, then to Jo Gardener. Finally, in 1996, it was acquired by Herbert Handlbauer and brought to Germany. In 2006 the 550 was purchased for the notable Dutch Porsche collection of Albert Westerman, who shortly thereafter undertook a complete, bare-metal restoration; photographs on file depict the panels during the work, showing evidence of the original “gills” added to the fenders and indicating that this was the original sheet metal retained throughout prior renovations. Mr. Westerman enjoyed the car regularly in historic events throughout Europe, most notably at the Mille Miglia Storica in 2009. It was then acquired by a collector in Germany before passing to its present American caretaker, who maintains a distinguished collection of high-performance automobiles. In the current ownership the Porsche’s restoration has been improved with a rebuild of the rear shell to its 1956 racing configuration, for additional engine ventilation. This work was conducted by the noted Porsche specialists at Road Scholars of Durham, North Carolina, who have also mechanically maintained the car to a very high standard. The 550 has been driven reliably at Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca, as well as on a 10-day European tour that began at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como, then moved on to St. Moritz, Baden Baden, and finally to the Hockenheimring and the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Chassis 550-0089 retains its matching-numbers gearbox, number 10091, while the currently fitted engine number 90089 is a correct Type 547 Carrera 1500 mill that has been rebuilt to proper specifications. The bodywork has been freshly refinished in the original color scheme, returning it fully to its appearance as driven by Ginther. Of course, as a pedigreed 550 Spyder this car is eligible for any number of tours and rallies worldwide, including the Mille Miglia Storica (of which it is already a veteran), the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, and the Goodwood Revival. It is documented with a FIVA Identity Card, as well as by a small collection of restoration photographs and a binder of additional historical documentation and references. Claiming the noteworthy ownership provenance of the influential John von Neumann, as well as a period racing record in the hands of the gifted Richie Ginther, this historically significant Porsche is ideal for both high-level exhibition and event enjoyment. Very few cars deliver the magical driving experience of the four-cam Carrera engine at speed, and this rare Spyder is certainly one of the finest to be offered in recent memory. 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder by Wendler RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright THE 550 SPYDER Porsche’s first purpose-built competition model, the 550 Spyder, boasted a simple yet effective tubular chassis, torsion-bar suspension, and a patent 1,500-cubic-centimeter four-cam engine, soon to be known as the Carrera. - 1959 AC Ace Bristol
Introduced in 1953, the AC Ace was the first British production sports car with independent suspension all round. It dominated numerous international sports car races in the years that followed. Its successes grew in particular after the in-house engine was supplemented by a Bristol engine from 1956, which had previously been installed in the BMW 328. In 1962, the AC Ace served as the basis for the legendary AC Cobra. Only 466 examples of the AC Ace Bristol were built between 1956 and 1964. According to available documents, this AC Ace Bristol was originally equipped with the racing options available at the time, including an oil cooler, a roll bar, a second (electric) fuel pump, etc. The car was imported to the USA by Imperial Motors of Wilmette IL. Its first owner, H.A. Black of Wilmette, was a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). He drove the car until 1963 and its subsequent ownership history is fully documented. In the meantime, the car was part of the renowned Shelby American Collection in the USA. The car arrived in Europe in 2021 and was sold to its current owner in Germany in 2023. The vehicle was recently extensively serviced in specialist workshops and received a new exhaust system, among other things. With the Bristol engine, the AC is particularly well motorised. Its rarity, but also its sporty and powerful appearance make this vehicle an entry ticket for high-class events. 1959 AC Ace Bristol Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB 'Vetroresina' Group 4
Launched at the 1975 Paris Motor Show as a replacement for the outgoing Dino 246 GT, the Scaglietti-built Ferrari 308 GTB featured a mid-mounted 2.9-litre V-8 engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The earliest and more desirable examples were bodied in glass-reinforced plastic, tipping the scales at 150 kilograms less than their later, steel-bodied counterparts. Among those to see the 308 GTB’s competitive potential were Italian brothers, Carlo and Giuliano Facetti from Bresso, who converted four examples to Group 4 specification. Their 308s became famed for their rarity and pre-date the Michelotto-built Group 4 and Group B cars that emerged in the early-1980s. This Ferrari 308 GTB, chassis 18855, left the factory in early 1976 finished in Rosso Chiaro, and was delivered new to a dealer in Bolzano, Italy. By 1977, the Facetti brothers had acquired the Ferrari, and converted it to Group 4 specifications. For its first outing, the car was entered into the 1978 24 Hours of Daytona, driven by Bob Bondurant, Dino Mallet, Romeo Camathias, and Sergio Rombolotti. They qualified in 32nd place, but—due to alternator failure—the car was forced to retire after 82 laps. Following Daytona, chassis 18855 was fielded in the 1978 Campionato Italiano Gruppo 4. Piloted by Carlo Facetti—making this the only Facetti-built 308 to be driven by Carlo—the Ferrari was immensely successful. Facetti won races at the Autódromo dell’Umbria, the Misano World Circuit, the Autódromo de Pergusa, and at Vallelunga Circuit. As a result of his success, he became the 1978 Campionato Italiano Group 4 Champion. The following year, Facetti competed at the Havířov International in Czechoslovakia, where he qualified 2nd but was forced to retire due to an accident. By mid-1980, the 308 GTB had been sold to Ciro Nappi, the founder of Scuderia Vesuvio. He raced this Ferrari at Vallelunga on two occasions in 1981, finishing 1st in Group 4 on 18 October. Ciro and his brother Piero continued to compete with the car, finally selling the Ferrari to the consigning owner in 2018, following 38 years of ownership. With the ‘Vetroresina’ body well-preserved, the owner opted to have chassis 18855 mechanically restored shortly after buying the car. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt by the Ferrari specialist, Roelofs Engineering in the Netherlands, with the suspension and other components restored in Belgium by Gipimotors. The restoration adhered to Group 4 FIA regulations and in October 2018, an FIA Historic Technical Passport was issued. Invoices on file for the restoration work exceed €200,000. Following its time in the workshop, this Facetti-built 308 has seen little use. The car is accompanied by historic photographs, old race entry sheets, and sits on new Gotti wheels and tyres. It is offered with six spare Gotti wheels and tyres, as well as four period-correct BBS wheels, alongside a selection of gearbox components. Chassis 18855 presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of just four Facetti-built 308 GTBs. With an enviable period race history and eligibility for leading historic motorsport events including the Modena Cento Ore, Targa Florio Classic, and Tour Auto, this rare and well-preserved Ferrari is the perfect tool for regularities and rallies. 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB 'Vetroresina' Group 4 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1989 Aston Martin V8 Zagato Volante
This Aston Martin V8 Zagato Volante is unique in that it is the only right-hand-drive example to feature the 6.3-litre X Pack Vantage V8 engine. The upgrade was carried out at the Newport Pagnell factory when the car was only a few months old, and is fully documented in its history file. This Volante Zagato was ordered via Stratton Motor Company (Norfolk) Ltd, with the first owner paying his £25,000 deposit on 1 July 1987. At that point, it was thought that chassis number 30031 would be ready in September 1988, but it took until November 1989 for it to be delivered. It was finished in Gladiator Red with a Parchment interior and Burgundy piping, plus Beige carpets. The final invoice was issued on 18 October 1989 and shows that the Aston Martin Volante Zagato was very much in the ‘reassuringly expensive’ category, with a final on-the-road price of £190,549. Having been first registered on 5 March 1990, the car was back at Aston Martin’s Service Department that July so that the standard 5.3-litre engine could be converted into 6.3-litre Vantage X Pack specification. The original factory invoice is included in the history file and shows the extent of the work, from replacing the fuel injection with Weber carburettors to installing a Vantage Zagato bonnet assembly and nose panel. The front and rear suspension was also stripped out and upgraded with a specially prepared handling kit, while a large-bore exhaust system with straight-through rear pipes was fitted – a job that also involved modifying the rear valance. The conversion cost almost £20,000 in labour alone, not including the necessary parts, and is documented in the paperwork with a certificate signed by Aston Martin Chairman Victor Gauntlett and Service Manager Kingsley Riding-Felce. The standard car was already fast, but the 6.3-litre X Pack conversion moves this particular example onto another level of performance. Now being offered for sale in ‘as new’ condition having covered only 1450 miles, this Aston Martin Volante Zagato retains its matching-numbers status and has just been extensively recommissioned at a cost of more than £20,000. Now offered for sale at The Classic Motor Hub. MODEL HISTORY Aston Martin’s line of V8 models can trace it roots to 1969 and the launch of the William Towns-designed DBS V8. That car subsequently morphed into the V8 and progressed through various incarnations, all of which featured Tadek Marek’s enduring 5.3-litre V8 engine. The styling was subtly tweaked along the way, while mechanical changes included a switch from fuel injection to less-troublesome Weber carburettors for the 1973 Series 3. After just about surviving a period of economic turmoil in the mid-1970s, Aston Martin took until 1978 to introduce the Series 4, which would be known as the ‘Oscar India’ model and lasted until the launch of the fuel-injected Series 5 in 1986. A Vantage model was added in 1977 and offered supercar levels of performance in a luxuriously appointed, old-school British design. In fact, when Car magazine ran a 1984 group test, a Vantage proved to be faster from 0-100mph than the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer, Porsche 911 Turbo and Lamborghini Countach. The X Pack variant was launched at the 1986 British Motor Show and included upgraded cylinder heads and internals, plus a quartet of Weber carburettors, helping to boost the power output to well over 400bhp. The ultimate specification, however, could be obtained by asking Aston Martin to enlarge the 5.3-litre Vantage X Pack to a monstrous 6.3 litres. During the mid-1980s, the V8 model helped to rekindle the relationship between Aston Martin and legendary Italian design house Zagato, the two companies having first worked together on the iconic 1960 DB4 GT Zagato. The V8 Zagato was announced in 1985 and finally unveiled a year later, when its angular, muscular lines attracting a flurry of orders. Zagato handcrafted the aluminium body panels in Italy and also redesigned the interior, and the brochure called the car ‘the supreme expression of the art of high performance’. It stated that only 50 would be built, but total production reached 52 coupés and 39 Volante convertibles between 1986 and 1990. 1989 Aston Martin V8 Zagato Volante The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
