- 1988 Ferrari 328 GTB
Model History Limited production GTB, designed by Pininfarina and introduced at the September 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, this 1988.5 Ferrari 328 GT Berlinetta is one of 1,344 units produced. Now showing only 16,095 miles from new, with a Ferrari Classiche ‘Red Book’ certification, a Ferrari Club of America 2021 Platinum Award, original owners’ books and jack kit, tools, interior light and recent major service records. The name '328' was attributed to its 3.2-liter eight-cylinder engine, which is always the focal point for Ferrari. The transversely mounted DOHC V8 engine sported an enlarged bore and stroke with Bosch K-Jetronic Fuel injection and could produce 270 horsepower and maximum 163 mph. Standard was a five-speed manual transaxle with the 280 GTO adapted steering rack in the 1988.5 and later cars, a tubular-steel chassis with an independent suspension with anti-roll bars and disc brakes made for one of the most balanced Ferrari’s of its era. Other performance equipment includes a limited-slip differential, convex 16-inch Speedline five-spoke alloy wheels, the iconic Ferrari gated shifter, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, power windows and standard air conditioning. Pininfarina, once again, penned a masterful sports car which was a more aerodynamic and elegant version of the predecessor 308. A GTB and GTS version was produced between 1985-1990, but it was the later GT Berlinetta’s that had the more praised combination of style and performance. The Italian Coachbuilders designed the body with featured pop-up headlights, integrated fog lights, side air intakes, dual side mirrors, a black spoiler mounted over the rear window, and quad exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance. Interiors in both the GTB and GTS were revamped, again inspired by the 288 GTO, with a redesigned center console, improved switchgear, more plush seats and a larger feeling cabin. Our Subject Vehicle Now offered out of Monterey, CA is this 4-Owner Ferrari with a documented 16k-miles from new. This unrestored 328 is a matching numbers example with the coveted Ferrari Classiche ‘Red Book’ Certification on hand to prove all of its factory parts and components are original. Originally delivered with Rosso Cora exterior paint over Beige leather interior, this car is accompanied by its original owner’s manual, warranty and service booklet, dealer directory, leather pouch, interior map lamp with pouch, a set of reproduction tools purchased from Ferrari North America and the original jack kit with correct bulb holder, spark plugs and auxiliary belts. A major service was performed in May 2017 from Grand Prix Classics in Campbell, Ca and a Ferrari Club of America Platinum was awarded at the 2021 Concorso Italiano event during Monterey Car Week. - 1967 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint
Delivered new to North Brede Motors in Perth and sold to Peter Alexander Bell from Bassendean WA, in November 1967, this Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint presents in its original Bianco Antico with black leather interior. It is a lovely driver’s car which has been well looked after by the current owner for 20 years. It is a 4-owner car and comes with its original service books and keys. The 2600 Sprint really defined the executive driver’s car for Alfa Romeo. Built between 1964 and 1967 only 6,999 were made and of those a mere 597 were RHD of which our car is one of these. This larger grand touring coupé could seat four adults in comfort over long journeys at high speeds thanks to the wide power and torque band of the 2584cc six-cylinder engine. With a 5 speed gearbox and all round disc brakes it was perfect to drive long distances at speed and in comfort. The design is the result of Giorgetto Giugiaro’s first major project as head designer for Carrozzeria Bertone, and is arguably one of the most influential designs in the history of automotive styling. Of the 597 RHD cars, very few were sold new in Australia and this is one of those. Its VIN starting in 854 confirms this was a produced for the Australian market and is underlined in the original sales documents which accompany the car. The body of the car is in very good condition and the colour of the paint suits the car setting off the brightwork well. The car has had a recent full body repaint which is of good quality. There is no evidence of rust anywhere on the car and it suggests it has clearly lead a pampered life. The engine and gearbox both perform faultlessly with no issues with the synchro’s. Over the last few years the car has been driven on fair weather days and to ensure it drives well with recent mechanical work done to ensure it runs as expected including the rebuild of its original Solex carbs and braking system. The interior is very good and the leather has been replaced at some point but shows no signs of cracking or loss of colour, unusually the dash and steering wheel is sound without cracking too. The electric windows are in working correctly and the headlining is in superb order and the window chrome is spot on. The interior of this car really is a lovely place to be. The original radio blanking plate accompanies the car too highlighting how original this is. The wheels although not original suit the car well. At some point the ‘2600’ badges and grill have been painted black as have the windscreen wipers, however these can be easily returned to standard. Out on the road this car really is a gentlemen’s express and is incredibly quiet and comfortable to drive as it works through the gears with the 2.6 litre engine providing plenty of ‘go’ whilst delivering an intoxicating engine note. Compared to its contemporaries from Maserati and Ferrari this represents something of a bargain and particularly one that is so original. A wonderful driving Alfa Romeo with a fantastic history. 1967 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Сlassic Сar Market If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1991 Lamborghini Diablo
For 16 years, Lamborghini produced the car that defined the term “poster car”- the Countach. But as the 1980s came to a close, it was time to update the model and create a poster car for the 1990s. The Diablo was their answer- unveiled to the public in January 1990, the design was clearly an evolution of the wedgy Countach but was refined to usher Lamborghini’s supercar into the 90s and beyond. Powered by a more advanced version of Lamborghini’s famous V12, the engine now displaced 5.7 liters and thanks to a modern computer-controlled fuel injection system, was good for 485 horsepower while also complying with ever-tightening emissions regulations around the world. This engine paired with superior aerodynamics made the Diablo the first production Lamborghini to have a top speed in excess of 200 mph and could run from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds. This 1991 Diablo is a particularly special example, first ordered by Formula One World Champion, Indianapolis 500, and Daytona 500 winner Mario Andretti. Finished in beautiful Rosso paint, this Diablo was treated to a recent repaint that shows very nicely all the way around the car. As an homage to one of the Countach’s signature design elements, an optional rear wing could be fitted to the Diablo and is on this example. The 17” OZ Racing multi-piece wheels with their 5-hole “phone dial” styling is another nod to the Countach and look stunning with a polished lip, and painted wheel center. Tan leather upholstery covers the interior with contrasting black leather on the steering wheel rim, dash and pillars. The earlier Diablos like this one, feature a large gauge cluster in front of the driver with 7 gauges to keep tabs on all of the car’s various systems- the gauge pod looks intimidating in photos but becomes easy to use once you get behind the wheel. A spartan center stack features electronic climate controls and a modern JVC stereo with Bluetooth capabilities but the original Alpine 7930 cassette player is included with the sale. The early style fixed back bucket seats look spectacular and, although they do not feature the massive side bolsters you see in more modern cars, are supportive and keep you in place during performance driving. Behind the front seats sits the 5.7 liter V12 which is in fine form thanks to a full engine out service by marque experts High Mountain Classics of Fort Collins, CO in 2020. During this procedure, a full head rebuild with new valves, new fuel hoses, and a full cooling system service were carried out with a binder full of receipts to give the full scope of the work done. Power is sent from this engine to a 5-speed manual transmission which received replacement clutch cylinders in 2021. The underside of this Diablo is nearly spotless as well with a full dry ice cleaning carried out prior to its last sale- the process is documented on the I Am Detailing YouTube channel and is exceptionally thorough. These early Diablos are notorious for being some of the most visceral, exciting examples from behind the wheel thanks to a lack of power steering, traction control, and rear-wheel drive layout. There is no doubt that this Diablo will be a thrilling drive and you can be sure that after the recent servicing, you will be able to enjoy all of the 485 horsepower the engine has to offer. The Lamborghini Diablo will go down in history as one of the most legendary supercars of the 1990s and these early examples are the car in its purest form and free from the Volkswagen influence seen in later examples. Additionally, that this car was originally owned by one of America’s most beloved and successful race car drivers gives it the kind of celebrity provenance any car enthusiast can get behind. 1991 Lamborghini Diablo ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright For 16 years, Lamborghini produced the car that defined the term “poster car”- the Countach. This particular Dino 246 GT was built in May 1972 and delivered new in Italy. Afterwards the car was sold to France and came to The Netherlands via Belgium in 1995. The Dino had only one Dutch owner and in 2006 we sold the car to one of our friendly customers in Germany. The owner kept the car to this day but hardly used the Dino as only 4.000 kms were driven in 17 years. It shows a very clean chassis and nice bodywork with correct panel fit. The car was repainted around 30 years ago but still presents very well. In 2016 the paint was professionally polished. Very recently the carpets were renewed. The result is a fresh interior but still with the charming old leather seats. The mechanics were rebuilt in 1995 by Dutch Ferrari specialist Piet Roelofs and the car has been driven only 11.000kms since. With the car comes a nice documentation file with several invoices. This is a quite special Dino 246 with airconditioning, electric windows and the special Campagnolo wheels. Beautifully finished in the most classic colour combination: ‘Rosso Corsa’ with a black leather interior. The car has a strong engine and the gearbox is shifting smoothly. Driving a Dino always turns out to be a great experience. 1962 Dino 246 GT Very Superior Old Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1995-jaguar-e-type-s1
Few cars capture the spirit of 1960s motoring as clearly as the Jaguar E-Type, and this Series 1 4.2 Roadster is a well-documented example. Manufactured in 1965 and first registered in New York the following year, it remained with a single American owner for nearly four decades before arriving in Europe in 2017. Between 2018 and 2019, the car underwent a complete body-off restoration, supported by an extensive photo report. Every aspect was carefully addressed, from the bodywork to the interior and mechanical components. The specification is both elegant and distinctive. Finished in Gunmetal Grey with a dark blue leather interior and matching soft top, the car presents a combination that is rarely seen and much appreciated among collectors. Series 1 features such as the glass-covered headlights, small rear lights, toggle switchgear and early-style dashboard confirm its original character. It retains its original engine, gearbox, and body, all corresponding to the chassis number, which is an essential point for authenticity. The restoration file, with a complete set of photographs, further illustrates the quality of the work carried out. Carefully maintained in private European ownership since its restoration, this Series 1 Roadster is offered today in excellent order, combining originality, documented history and desirable specification. 1965 Jaguar E-Type S1 AD Sportscars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione
The 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans marked the end of an era. It was the last time the legendary 5-litre "big bangers" would do battle at the Circuit de la Sarthe and no fewer than nine Ferrari 512s lined up against seven Porsche 917s. The German marque came out on top with 917s finishing 1st and 2nd, while the 512s had to settle for 3rd and 4th. Following them home in an outstanding 5th position overall was this very special Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ Competizione. This hugely significant piece of Ferrari history was built on 28 April 1969 as a steel-bodied roadgoing model, and was only the third production Daytona ever made. Fascinatingly, it never left the factory, and was retained by Maranello as a development prototype, serving as a test bed for, among other developments, a new type of wiper system. The machine’s early history only got more interesting when, on 26 April 1971, after two years in Ferrari’s ownership, Luigi Chinetti’s fabled North American Racing Team instructed the factory to convert chassis 12467 to competition specification. Chinetti’s target: the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans. The work was carried out under the auspices of the factory by Piero Drogo’s Carrozzeria Sport Car with help from Autofficina Sport. Although the steel body was retained, the modified shell featured a quick-release fuel filler cap in the boot lid, a Dino 206 SP-style fuel capacitor, a 512M fuel pressure gauge, Plexiglass side windows, a front spoiler, and flared wheel arches to accommodate enormous nine-inch rear and eight-inch front wheels. A roaring side-exit exhaust, roll cage, and a 512M-type fire extinguisher system completed the package. Ferrari delivered chassis 12467 directly to Le Mans—as per invoice number 378/71, dated 7 June 1971—where it was piloted by Bob Grossman and Luigi Chinetti Jr. The car’s promise was immediate in practice, with a thundering pace along the Mulsanne Straight impressing ‘Coco’ Chinetti. Chinetti took the opening stint in the French classic before handing over to Grossman as night fell. Chassis 12467 ran like clockwork, slowly climbing the rankings as the more fragile sports prototypes fell by the wayside; by the 19th hour it had risen to a remarkable 5th overall. There it stayed, having set a best lap that was seven seconds faster than it had managed during practice and winning the Index of Thermal Efficiency. Such was the significance of the result that Chinetti received a congratulatory telegram at the end of the race from none other than Enzo Ferrari. NART then took chassis 12467 back to the USA and in November it was sold via Grossman to Clive Baker, who ran the Baker Motors-Ring Free Oil race team. In early 1972 it began its life in the GT 2.5+ category—effectively Group IV GT—and was entered for the Daytona Six Hours, where it finished 3rd in class, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, where regulations demanded that glass side windows be fitted. Later that year it also raced at Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta before being sold to Harley Cluxton III. In June of 1973 the Ferrari was sold to Herb Wetanson, and it remained in the USA for more than 40 years before returning to Europe. In 2022, the current owner decided to restore the car to full Le Mans 1971 specification. The Daytona was sent to Italy and entrusted to Corrado Patella’s Autofficina Omega and Dino Cognolato’s Carrozzeria Nova Rinascente, with the restoration being managed by Ferrari Classiche. The process reunited the original engine block with its original cylinder heads, complete with Le Mans scrutineering stamps from 1971. Further, while down to bare metal, previously hidden mounting points were found for an additional radio antenna and wiper system that were fitted between 1969 and 1971 when the car was being used for development by Ferrari. The Daytona is currently undergoing inspection for Ferrari’s coveted "Red Book" Classiche certification. This machine holds a special place in Ferrari history as the first factory-prepared prototype and genesis of the Daytona Competizione. The model would go on to score victories and class wins everywhere from the Tour de France to the 24 Hours of Daytona, finishing 2nd at the Florida circuit in 1979—a full decade after its launch. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans marked the end of an era. Chassis 12467 is where it all began, and its sale represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire not only one of the most desirable iterations of the last great front-engined GT racer, but the very first. - 1984 Porsche 911
The G-model series, produced from 1973 to 1989, marked a significant evolution in the Porsche 911 lineup. Known for its distinctive impact bumpers, which were introduced to meet stricter safety regulations, the G-models feature a blend of classic Porsche styling and modern enhancements. Originally delivered new in Germany in 1984, this Porsche 911 Cabriolet was produced for the European market (European Specs). It was then exported to California, United States where it stayed for 25 years. The car is in very good condition and is still featuring its original colour combination, an elegant Prussian blue exterior, complemented by a matching blue leather interior and a blue hood. The distinctive blue Fuchs wheels add a unique touch to the already eye-catching Porsche. In total, the Porsche 911 has had five owners throughout its life, with three in the United States and two in Europe. In 2011, it was reimported to Belgium and has since been registered as an Oldtimer. When he bought the Porsche in 2017, the current owner put the 911 through its paces, carried out all the necessary work to bring it into perfect working order and took the opportunity to replace the speedometer with an odometer. Just over 15,000 km have been covered since then. Today the car runs perfectly well and is ready for new escapes. Major service has been done in April 2024. A complete documentation file is available, containing original service book, all invoices and detailed maintenance records, ensuring transparency and confidence in its well-documented history. In summary, this is a very nice exemplar of the iconic 911 which embodies the perfect blend of classic design and unmatched driving pleasure of the legendary air-cooled flat six engine. - 1974 Ford Capri II 3000GT
Five years after the launch of the original Capri, in 1974, Ford decided to introduce a practical element to their market-leading Capri. The original car is well known as being influenced by the iconic Mustang, but interestingly for the new 1973 Mustang II, Dearborn had a good look at what their European division was doing with their Capri II which was being developed at the same time. Similar outcomes in many respects, with both being somewhat overshadowed by the originals, however, of the two very different cars, the Capri II was arguably the better. The design brief was to improve the boot access and space, and resolve the poor rearward visibility, and the new 'Hatchback' design was bang-on-trend. Apart from the Reliant Scimitar, no other sports coupé combined the folding seat and rear hatch combination. Around 150 changes separated the original and Capri II, but the engines and much of the running gear and chassis design were carried over. Prior to the arrival of the 3000 Ghia and much later the JPS, the 3000GT was the top of the Capri II range. Powered by a 2,993cc V6 generating 138bhp and 174lb/ft it was quick and, with independent coil springs, telescopic dampers, MacPherson struts, an anti-roll bar and rack and pinion steering, it handled really well. Never known to miss a marketing opportunity, Ford UK decided that it would be advantageous if their new 3000GT could be seen by as many people as possible in the right environment, so the decision was made to gift one of the early cars to Silverstone Circuits Ltd to be used as the circuit's first 'Flying Doctor' Medical Car. Finished in Daytona Yellow with a black vinyl roof and sporting their new Mk 3S alloys, the Capri certainly looked the part, particularly when sign-written with Silverstone Resuscitation Unit down each side. It was in use until the early 1980s and must have been seen by millions of people The car was subsequently enjoyed by two further owners before being purchased by our vendor, Brian Pallett, in March 2013. Brian is a friend of Silverstone Auctions and was the circuit manager of Silverstone for many years. We understand that the car has been repainted in its original Daytona Yellow and has been regularly serviced and kept garaged. As an interesting aside, PTW 473M had a minor action role in the 2018 film 'Yardie' directed by Idris Elba. The film is set in London in 1983 and the car can be seen outside a rather seedy Turkish Social Club. 1974 Ford Capri II 3000GT Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900 C SS Berlinetta
Elio Zagato, scion to the famed Italian coachbuilding family, was a devout motorsport enthusiast and co-founder of the Sant Ambroeus racing team. When one of his friends joined the team with a Touring-bodied Alfa Romeo 1900, Zagato, for obvious reasons, advised him to change his mount posthaste—but not before noting that the 1900 C, with its short-wheelbase chassis, alloy-head dual-cam engine, and advanced suspension, would have excellent performance potential with bodywork by a different coachbuilder...namely, his. Soon he had created a delicately beautiful coupe, with featherweight aluminum-alloy bodywork with Plexiglas windows. About 39 berlinettas were built by Zagato to this design on the 1900 C SS chassis, and they were widely raced with considerable success all over Europe during the late 1950s. Today they are admired for both their beauty and their surefooted skill, and are among the most collectible Italian sports cars of their generation. The car offered here is that which was originally delivered to Dr. Vincenzo Fornasari, a favored Zagato customer who had also acquired a Maserati A6G/54 bodied by the firm. The Alfa was driven by his son, Luigi Fornasari, a well-known Italian sportsman of the period, in several Italian races, including completing the 1955 Mille Miglia, 11th in class and 38th overall. It finished 3rd in class and 11th overall in Bolzano-Mendola, 1st in class and 11th overall in Aosta-Gran San Bernardo, and 2nd in class and 5th overall in the Stella Alpina all in that same year. By 1959 the Alfa had moved to the United States, and that year was advertised in a West Coast sports car magazine by Ernie Mendicki of Oakland, California, a well-known performance dealer, enthusiast, racer, and collector of the time. Subsequent owners reportedly included Jim Keown of Monterey. Later, in the 1970s, the car was vintage-raced by then-owner Jim Cesari of Palo Alto quite extensively, most prominently in events at Sears Point where it competed against other well-known California enthusiasts. It was subsequently sold in the 1980s, moving through owners in Texas and Switzerland, and competing in the Targa Florio in 1986 and the Mille Miglia Storica in 1987 with owner Ugo Piccagli. It was acquired for its present owner’s collection in 1990 from the well-known Swiss broker, Albrecht Guggisberg. The car wears an older restoration with much evidence of use on the track since its completion, but is still charming and attractive throughout. At some point in the early 1970s, the classic and iconic Zagato “double bubble” roof, not originally used on first-series models such as this one, was added to the roofline. Accompanying the car is a small history file including an original 1900 brochure, several reference articles, and a handful of maintenance receipts from the last 25 years. Ideal for freshening and returning to any number of road rallies the world over, this Mille Miglia veteran would be a thrilling mount, allowing its new owner to savor the nimble handling and swift performance of one of Zagato and Alfa Romeo’s finest collaborations. 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900 C SS Berlinetta RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1959 Jaguar XK150 'S' 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe
The Jaguar XK150 was introduced in the spring of 1957, as a replacement for the XK140 and was available as a fixed and drophead coupe. Whilst the 150 was similar in design to the outgoing model it was considerably more refined. A one-piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings and on the roadster, the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140’s walnut dashboard was replaced by a leather trimmed unit. The launch specification of the XK 150 included SU carburettors, four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, independent front suspension with wishbones, coil springs, torsion bars and anti-roll bar, rigid rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Jaguar increased the engine power outputs and introduced the optional 150 “S” variants, with the 3.4 S developing 250 bhp enabling it to reach 60mph in just over 7 secs and onto a top speed of just over 135 mph. The Jaguar XK150 ‘S’ 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe offered here at Autostorico is a 1959 registered example finished in Cotswold Blue with Blue leather interior. Spending its early life in the USA before returning to UK shores in 1995. It was then subject to a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration. Works included removing the engine and gearbox and stripping the whole body, before a bare metal respray was carried out. The car was also subject to a full mechanical overhaul including engine, gearbox, and suspension rebuild. Other notable works included overhauling the braking system, re-wire and interior re-trim, along with fitted luggage. Offered for sale with a current V5 registration document and history file including numerous invoices and other related material. 1959 Jaguar XK150 'S' 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe Autostorico Partners LLP If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
