The Cultivated Collector’s 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello, Chassis 12801, is a stunning example of the breed - finished in the beautiful color of Grigio Titano, is complemented by the interior which is wrapped in deep Blu Scuro leather. Having covered a mere 17,700 miles from new, 12801 benefits greatly from loving previous ownership, seeing consistent servicing and having just been serviced by marque specialist Jim McGee of Pocono Sports Car. This 550 Maranello is in exceptional condition throughout, a turn-key example of the ultimate modern Grand Tourer that is ready to enjoy on the open road. The early 1990’s saw Ferrari ignite a return to their roots by reintroducing and reviving the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout that had been synonymous with the brand’s early success, yet absent from Ferrari's lineup since the 365 GTB/4 Daytona in the early 1970s. Riding on the heels of the electrifying 512M, the all new 550 Maranello would triumphantly carry the torch forward for V12 powered Ferrari cars. Exuding the brand’s deep and rich history, the 550 Maranello was proudly named after Ferrari’s home, the beautiful city of Maranello, Italy. Ferrari entrusted design to Pininfarina, with the project being led by Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the exterior featured a sleek and timeless design emphasized by clean flowing lines and muscular proportions akin to a classic GT car, while the interior exuded a stunning leather clad center console encapsulating both driver and passenger. Excellence was not skin deep, however. Nestled in the tubular steel space frame, the 550 Maranello boasted the best Ferrari had to offer in the form of the F133A, a front-mounted 5.5-liter V12 engine producing 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque, all being sent to the rear wheels through an engaging 6-speed manual transmission. The 550 Maranello boasted marvelous handling and dynamics, thanks to its balanced weight distribution and highly-tuned double wishbone suspension, providing occupants with a comfortable and luxurious interior with leather upholstery and modern amenities, placing it firmly as the class leader for long-distance driving and grand touring. During its production run from 1996 to 2001, an estimated 3,000 examples left the Maranello based manufacturing facilities. Over its 5 year lifespan, the 550 Maranello consistently received positive reviews from critics and enthusiasts, being widely regarded as a highly capable and desirable grand tourer, blending performance, style, and comfort in an exceptional Italian package. 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello The Cultivated Collector LLC If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta 'Tour de France' by Scaglietti
Ferrari’s 250 GT LWB “Tour de France” racing Berlinetta is a hallmark of the brand’s heritage, renowned for its outstanding design and competitive dominance. Developed in 1956 from the 250 GT road car, it featured a refined 3.0-liter V-12 engine with triple Weber carburetors and stunning Scaglietti coachwork crafted from lightweight aluminum. Combined with Perspex glass and a stripped-down cockpit, the TdF achieved an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, challenging rivals like the Jaguar XK and Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The debut of Ferrari’s new 250 GT LWB Berlinetta was remarkable, with works driver Olivier Gendebien and navigator Jacques Washer winning their class at the Giro di Sicilia in April 1956. Later that year, Marquis Alfonso de Portago claimed overall victory in the grueling 3,600-mile Tour de France endurance rally. Enzo Ferrari was so thrilled with the car’s performance that the factory named the new model after this race with the 250 GT LWB Berlinetta referred to as “Tour de France” or simply TdF. The moniker was further validated as Gendebien matched de Portago’s victory by winning the storied French race in 1957 and 1958 with later TdF examples, giving the model three victories in this highly important race—a feat not even the great 250 GTO was able to accomplish. From 1958 to 1959, Scaglietti further streamlined the TdF, reducing the bodywork to a single louver in the sail panels. Only 36 examples were built in this configuration, with 28 of those originally built in the highly desirable covered-headlight setup. However, due to road regulations introduced in parts of Europe around this time, a number of these covered-headlight examples were converted to open headlights, and then in some cases back to covered headlights later on. These final-edition TdF examples also introduced key mechanical upgrades like a new gearbox, a revamped intake manifold, and several engine enhancements. Built for racing, it is no surprise that many of the 77 TdF examples suffered damage during their competition careers, making the search for the finest surviving TdF cars a challenging pursuit. This 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta TdF is among the finest and most illustrious examples of this rare and coveted model. A combination of attributes places it very high on an extremely short list of TdFs, having been built in the most beautiful configuration—with covered headlamps and single louvers—and raced successfully, without incident, by not one, but two, championship-caliber drivers. Chassis 0933 GT is one of the very few to have escaped entirely unharmed from its storied, laurel-crowned competition career. Without a single significant shunt or battle scar to mar its beautiful alloy coachwork, 0933 GT’s remarkable preservation is the result of decades spent in esteemed Ferrari collections, which shielded it from additional years of intense racing across Europe. TWO CHAMPIONS IN TWO YEARS On 17 June 1958, chassis 0933 GT was sold new to two-time Italian National Road Racing Champion Casimiro “Miro” Toselli of Turin, a wealthy gentleman-driver more skilled than most Ferrari customers. Chassis 0933 GT is recorded as one of three TdF examples he drove in competition from 1957 through 1960. A photo supplied by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini shows Toselli taking delivery of 0933 GT at the factory, finished in its original color combination of Oro Chiaro over Rosso Bordeaux leather upholstery. The only TdF produced in this color scheme, it was also equipped with covered headlamps, Borrani wire wheels, and in pure racing trim, without bumperettes or side-view mirrors. Just prior to taking delivery, Toselli asked for a single, white racing stripe to be painted on. Debuting 0933 GT on 14 September 1958 at the tight and technical Rocco Cocconato hillclimb in Asti, a region of Piedmont, Italy, Toselli scored 5th overall against a tight field of similar Ferraris. Still growing accustomed to the car, he finished 7th overall at the Pontedecimo hillclimb on 28 September and dropped out of the famous Trieste-Opicina hillclimb on 5 October, but by 10 October had finally become aligned with his machine when he stirred 0933 GT to its first victory at the rigorous Pila hillclimb in Aosta. The next month, Toselli and 0933 GT traveled to the Venezuelan Grand Prix as a guest of Scuderia Manunina, an Argentinian-Italian racing program run by Marcello Giambertone, longtime manager of five-time Formula One World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio. This race was not a traditional grand prix, but rather a torturous 754-kilometer point-to-point road race run across poorly maintained dirt roads. Organizers had initially told the press and assembled drivers that “…a good time for the trip in a fast sports car is around 10 hours,” as quoted in Motor Sport magazine. Like a golden bullet that grazed the raucous crowds along the route, Toselli finished the race in only five hours, which, rather amazingly, was good enough for 4th place among a coterie of 250 TdF variants headed by Ferrari factory driver Jean Behra. Following this outstanding result, Toselli headed back to Italy alone, as he appears to have sold 0933 GT to Lino Fayen, the Ferrari agent in Caracas, Venezuela, who would go on to race the car at the Gran Premio della Lotteria in Monza, Italy in June 1959, prior to brokering the car to Venezuelan Mauricio Marcotulli, yet another talented gentleman-driver who counted several TdFs, 250 GTs, and Testa Rossas among his preferred rides. From January through October 1959, Marcotulli entered 0933 GT in at least six top-tier sports car road races as an entrant of the Automobile Club of Venezuela. Among a tight-knit group of Venezuela’s best amateur drivers, nearly all of whom drove competition Ferraris supplied by Fayen, Marcotulli’s lowest recorded result from the 1959 season was 2nd place. Chassis 0933 GT’s sole outright victory with its second champion-owner came on 16 August, when Marcotulli completed the 128-kilometer Gran Premio de Maracaibo in under 52 minutes. Consistency is often more important than outright victory, and to this end Marcotulli finished as runner-up in four of six recorded races, including at the 480-kilometer Caracas-Cumana Premio de Oriente on 25 January, the grueling 1,660-kilometer Premio Ciudad de Cabimas on 7 June and the 481-kilometer Maracay-Cumana-Margarita race on 2 August. He most notably sealed that year’s road racing championship over Spanish driver Julio Pola with a 2nd place finish on 20 September at the Gran Premio de Ojeda. Thus, 0933 GT had served two champions in just 12 months. Marcotulli registered 0933 GT in Venezuela as “ND0943,” and the car retained this plate following its sale to Ugo Tosa in late 1959. For the 1960 season, Tosa and co-pilot Silvano Turco importantly entered the car in the first round of the 1960 World Sportscar Championship at the 1000 KM of Buenos Aires. One of a select number of TdFs to successfully compete in World Championship competition, 0933 GT availed itself very well with the Venezuelan drivers, finishing 3rd in the GT class and 11th overall. Chassis 0933 GT competed in further endurance races between Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela, and in his last recorded race at the Caracas-to-Bogota rally, Tosa famously shared driving duties with his wife Franca. In early 1961, Lino Fayen purchased the car from Tosa and brought it back to France from Venezuela, likely intending to sell it to a European privateer. However, 0933 GT's promising competitive future was abruptly interrupted by a dispute between Fayen and the French tax authorities. Tax agents seized the car—still carrying its Venezuelan registration plates—in a parking lot at Paris Orly Airport. HALLOWED HALLS AND RECENT LIFE The seizure advertently saved 0933 GT from the possibility of another several seasons in competition and preserved its originality as the car remained in storage for five years, until offered at a customs auction in October 1966 where it was purchased by one Christian d’Epenoux. Renowned Ferrari collector Pierre Bardinon quickly pried chassis 0933 GT from his hands and had the car registered as “5799GZ78” and refinished in Rosso to fit the famous aesthetic of his private Mas du Clos Ferrari museum in Aubusson, France. From 1975 through 1977, Comte Frederic Chandon de Briailles of Moët et Chandon fame briefly enjoyed ownership of chassis 0933 GT, before Bardinon bought it back and retained it in his incredible collection for another six years. Interceding owners of note from 1983 to the present include three-time Le Mans competitor Dominique Bardini, as well as André Binda and noted tifoso Michel Seydoux. From 1997 through 2001, 0933 GT was cosmetically refinished in its original Oro Chiaro and treated to a mechanical restoration by UK-based specialists Terry Hoyle Racing Engineers. In 2004, the car’s original Rosso Bordeaux leather upholstery was removed and preserved and Cognac leather hides were installed. This TdF’s only setback during its racing career was the expiration of its original 3.0-liter engine block—quite a common occurrence for Ferrari competition cars—having likely developed issues during Marcotulli’s ownership. The engine block currently fitted to the car is an unstamped correct-type unit believed to be a period factory replacement installed in Caracas by Lino Fayen’s dealership staff. This replacement block is still fitted to the original timing case that is correctly stamped “0933 GT.” Additionally, Ferrari historian Jess Pouret notes in his book Ferrari 250 GT Competition Cars that 0933 GT was fitted with upgraded engine components by the factory sometime around 1960. An assessment on file from Ferrari guru Keith Bluemel corroborates the preservation of 0933 GT’s original alloy bodywork, as well as the original gearbox and rear axle units with internal numbers cited by Massini’s report, indicating that all of these important components are believed to be original. Since entering the consignor’s finely curated collection in 2006, the car has been faithfully maintained by a private mechanic using parts supplied by leading specialists, including GTO Engineering. As a regular entrant in Ferrari Club events and tours such as the California Mille, and Colorado Grand, 0933 GT has enjoyed a routine regimen of exercise and maintenance. Now offered for the first time in 18 years, 0933 GT is accompanied by copies of its Automobile Club d'Italia estratto, Massini and Keith Bluemel Reports, restoration invoices, historic imagery and correspondence, books, a tool kit, and original Rosso Bordeaux leather upholstery. A car driven to glory by champions and further cherished by some of the marque’s most significant collectors, 0933 GT is a truly remarkable prize reflecting the most evocative tenets of Ferrari’s mythos. As the centerpiece of many Ferrari-focused collections, the Tour de France is undeniably one of the most captivating 250 GT iterations, occupying an important perch within the pantheon of Ferrari racing lineage. Highly celebrated by enthusiasts today, the 250 GT Tour de France epitomizes the finest in dual-use grand touring Ferraris, which could be driven to the circuit and vigorously raced before enjoying a relaxing trip home. 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta 'Tour de France' by Scaglietti RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1977 Ferrari 512 BB
The 365 GT4 BB was the first mid-engined, 12-cylinder road car from the Maranello marque to wear a Ferrari badge. A rival to Lamborghini’s Countach, it lasted for three years before the 512 BB replacement arrived in 1976 with an enlarged 360 brake horsepower, carburettor-fed, 4,943-cc flat-12—related to the engine in Niki Lauda’s contemporary Formula 1 racer—that propelled the model to a 188 mph top speed. The first owner of chassis 20825 initially specified a 365 GT4 BB finished in Argento Auteuil, placing an order in January 1976. With the new model then announced at that year’s Paris Salon, the request was soon amended to a 512 BB in Verde Medio (a particularly rare colour with only five examples, including the later BBi) over a Beige Connolly leather interior. Completed on 7 February the following year, this notably early example of a 512 BB was delivered new to UK importer Maranello Concessionaires of Egham, Surrey, and distributed through the main dealer, Maltin Car Concessionaires of Henley, Oxfordshire. Of the 929-strong production run of 512 BBs, only 101 were configured in right-hand-drive. This car was registered on 19 March 1977 to Mr N F Boutros, who retained chassis 20825 for seven years. A second owner exported the car to New Zealand in the mid-1980s before a third keeper eventually moved it to Japan in 2004. A decade later, this 512 BB returned to the UK, having been purchased by the Ferrari Centre of Maidstone for a complete, three-year restoration. The consigning owner purchased chassis 20825 from the Ferrari Centre (later renamed Kent High Performance Cars) in July 2016, two months later gaining certification from Ferrari Classiche as the 512 BB was recognised for retaining its matching-numbers body, chassis, engine, and gearbox. Testament to its current finish in current Rosso over Pelle Beige, the car has won numerous concours awards. Most notably, earning the Secretary’s Trophy for Ferraris at the 2021 edition of the Salon Privé Concours d’Elegance at Blenheim Palace, plus the President’s Cup for Best in Show Members’ Choice at the September 2023 Ferrari Owners’ Club Summer Garden Party, and Charles Stanley International Concours gathering at Down Hall. Accompanied by copies of the original order form and dealer invoice, plus Ferrari folio, sales brochures, and Ferrari Classiche “Red Book”, this example displays 31,320 miles at the time of cataloguing. Since its restoration there, the car has been treated to a service and MoT annually by Kent High Performance Cars, the most recent carried out in April of this year. It was also the subject of a 2022 engine-out cambelt replacement. This multiple award-winning 512 BB would make for a fitting addition to any collection. 1977 Ferrari 512 BB RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1963 Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS
Among the last of those 278 B-Series Carrera 2 GS Coupes produced by Porsche, chassis 122629 was completed at Zuffenhausen on 3 December 1962 and destined for the United States clad in Ivory (6204) over blue leatherette with blue carpets. By 14 December, it had been delivered to John von Neumann’s famous Los Angeles-area Porsche distributorship, Competition Motors, and sold new to its first owner—a Dr. Clifford Earl Easley of Torrance, California. For his part, Dr. Easley is likely to have paid around $7,500 for the privilege of owning an example of Porsche’s most radical, powerful, and expensive production car then available. By 1999, this Carrera 2 had turned up in the care of a noted early 911 and 356 Porschephile from northern New Jersey. Around this time, the car is believed to have been entirely refinished in its factory-correct color combination, although the German square weave carpets were updated to a pleasing gray shade. Different Porsche 356 owners’ registry entries from 2002 and 2003 note 122629’s subsequent condition as “concours, restored.” Additionally, at this time this Carrera 2 GS was updated with an attractive suite of “Deluxe” type improvements including Marchal headlamps and fog lamps, lap belts, an Eberspächer gasoline heater, and wood-rimmed steering wheel. In 2006, it was acquired by another New Jersey-based Porsche enthusiast, and registered with the cheeky historic plate, “4 CAM.” During his nine years of ownership, this Carrera 2 was regularly looked after by the award-winning Porsche specialists at Paterek Brothers, and in 2006 they fitted a complete set of factor-correct, ultra-rare Porsche ATE annular brakes. Observation of 122629’s present equipment shows that it still is powered by the numbers-matching, 2.0-liter, Type 587/1 engine unit as listed on its factory Kardex. At the time of the 2000 GS’ 1962 release, the 547/1 was Porsche’s most radical production version of the Fuhrmann-designed, double-overhead cam, air-cooled, four-cylinder “boxer” engine. Exceptionally compact and power-dense, the 587/1 can propel the 2000 GS Carrera 2 to around 60 mph in only 9.2 seconds and onto a maximum speed just shy of 125 mph. Chassis 122629 was purchased by the White Collection in 2015, and since then has been sparingly enjoyed, though always admired; it has been started and run to operating temperature monthly while in the collection. Its future caretaker could undoubtedly present this car with pride at regional concours d’elegance and marque gatherings. It is accompanied by an owner’s manual and service books, tools, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a selection of invoices from previous ownership. Sure to bring a smile to the face of any fervent Porsche enthusiast, this handsome Carrera 2 2000 GS Coupe represents a pivotal expression of Zuffenhausen’s famed Carrera nameplate, epitomizing the manufacturer’s continued dedication to building competition-bred performance cars. 1963 Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1965 Alpine A110 1st Series
Few cars epitomise the mantra of ‘less is more’ quite so effectively as the Alpine A110, and this rare early survivor is being offered for sale in exceptional condition following an extensive restoration. A 1990 letter from Société des Automobiles Alpine Renault confirms that chassis 3222 left the factory on 23 May 1965. Although A110s were also built in Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil and Mexico, this particular car was produced by Alpine in its hometown of Dieppe in northern France. The A110 was bought into the UK in 1984 via the Lenham Motor Company by an enthusiast owner whose car-owning past also included a Formula Junior Cooper T52, an Ausper Formula 3 car and the unique Marina Rolls-Royce sports-racer. A few years later, some extensive recommissioning work was carried out that included an engine rebuild, and the owner would end up keeping the car for well over 20 years. More recently, the decision was taken to treat the Alpine to a thorough body-off restoration. The important milestones are noted in the car’s history file, and include an engine rebuild in 2017, a retrim and carburettor rebuild in 2018, and rewiring and repainting in 2020 – the same year in which 34 pieces of brightwork were professionally rechromed. Further paintwork was carried out in early 2021 and, having spent time in Alpine Blue, the car is now once again beautifully presented in its original shade of Ivory. The painstaking restoration was finally completed in summer 2024, and the care and attention with which it was carried out is evident throughout the car. With its more-powerful, period-correct, 1108cc Gordini ‘VB’ engine, amazing handling, and an overall weight of only 650kg, it’s an invigorating little sports car that’s perfectly capable of humbling far more exotic machinery on a cross-country blast. 1965 Alpine A110 1st Series The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Vignale
A Ferrari by Vignale is always a special creation, and this is seldom more true than for the 212 Inter offered here, chassis number 0135/E. The design for the car, with the use of its subtle body curves to delineate two-toning, a glassy and very open roofline with narrow pillars, a shapely rounded tail, and the broad oval grille, is utterly classic and iconic Vignale, instantly recognizable to any student of Italian coachbuilding. Chromed slots in the front fenders and the taillights recessed into the rear fenders were and remain readily identifiable touches of 0135/E, which was finished in an eye-catching color scheme of black and dark red. Completed by the factory at the end of June in 1951, 0135/E was shown that October at the Paris Motor Show, then sold to Milanese racing driver Franco Cornacchia’s dealership, WI.PU.CO. Cornacchia dealt the car to a fellow Milan resident, Paolo Lampugnani. Soon thereafter, the 212 Inter enjoyed its second prominent turn on the worldwide stage with an appearance as the cover car of the February 1952 issue of Road & Track. While the car was photographed with a fake Italian registration plate, TO 18511-I, the shot had been made while the car was in Paris. At some point in the 1950s the car was exported to a sports car-hungry California, and eventually was offered for sale by BMC Motors of Belmont. As Don Wassermann of San Francisco wrote in issue 38 of the Ferrari Club of America’s Prancing Horse in 1974, he saw the car on the lot in 1962, and that “since imported [it] has been locally owned. Took it for a test drive and got a ticket for speeding. Decided not to buy it maybe because of speeding ticket…” It was instead purchased by another gentleman, his identity now forgotten, who drove it with his girlfriend to Kansas. When it broke down there, he attempted to tow it home to California, but it broke loose from the tow vehicle and nosed into a ditch, fortunately only damaging the tips of the front fenders. Nonetheless the car eventually got home to the Golden State and was put into storage. Wassermann finally bought the car out of storage in 1967, and began meticulously restoring it, optimistically saying in his article that he hoped “to have body and chassis reunited…upholstery and wiring [completed]…by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in September 1974.” Unfortunately, that proved a touch optimistic; the restoration extended for nearly 30 years, as life intervened. A well-known specialist in vintage Ferraris acquired 0135/E in the late 1990s, and in 1999 sold the car to the noted tifoso Charles A. “Skeets” Dunn. Following completion of the restoration by John Amette, Mr. Dunn exhibited the car on the West Coast, prominently winning an award in its class at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2003, and the following year returning it to Monterey to receive its Platinum Award at the Ferrari Club of America International Meeting and Concours. Among other achievements, it went on to achieve top honors in the Great Ferrari class at The Quail in 2009. In 2014 this special 212 Inter was acquired for the present owner’s distinguished collection, in which it has now remained for nearly a decade, its restoration well-maintained and still in outstanding condition. Ferrari Classiche noted that the car retains its original chassis, engine, and gearbox, though the differential is a replacement unit. The car retains its wonderful original details, captured in its Dunn restoration, including the large Carello 424 headlights and Scintilla marker lights; the dashboard arranged around a large Jaeger Chronoflite; and the steering wheel with its Vignale filigreed spokes and early-style “prancing horse” on the horn button, mounted on a chromed column—a bit of flash for the Paris showgoers, all of which were carefully researched and recreated. Restoration photographs and a brief discussion of authenticity points accompany the car, as does, of course, the Red Book from its Ferrari Classiche Certification and copies of the factory build sheets. A superb example of the Ferrari by Vignale, this 212 Inter boasts wonderful show and magazine feature history, as well as a fine restoration, rich provenance, and Classiche Certification to recommend it to a new caretaker. 1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Vignale RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1986 Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo Intercooler
In everyday life we often find that we should recalibrate our quality standards. Especially with vehicles from the 70s, 80s and 90s we are becoming more and more picky and looking for the famous "fly in the ointment". Unfortunately, we are increasingly reaching limits that either the manufacturer in question never reached when assembling the new car, or that the conscientious restorer could not improve despite all his care. This applies to both normal bread-and-butter cars that were never made to meet high standards, but also to luxury brands such as Ferrari, which, due to their intended future use, were notoriously never able to achieve the stoic suitability of a Porsche, BMW or other rivals. When, for example, have you seen a bright red Ferrari with winter tires and skis on the roof - driven boldly - driving up a snowy pass in the Dolomites? Or in a traffic jam during rush hour in the autumn rain? In the vast majority of cases, these thoroughbred Italian sports cars were driven under the very best conditions from the very first kilometer, never on salt roads in winter, never in the stress of everyday life. Most of the time, all inspections were carried out on time, because even in the regulars' table, it was becoming more and more common to hear that, for example, a neglected timing belt could result in a horrendously expensive engine overhaul that would hit any wallet hard. However, since practically all Ferraris from these years had a remarkable market development, these striking representatives of what is probably the world's most famous sports car manufacturer are more often stroked than driven. This may protect them visually, but from a technical point of view, these precious cars are often not doing themselves any favors. In addition to the regular exercise of such hot-blooded cars, regular maintenance is also important so that these automobiles convey to us all what makes them special - tamed racing cars with precision mechanics that are as fascinating as they are delicate, revving multi-cylinder high-performance engines, open gearshifts with gears that click into place like a signal box... You all know what I mean. Ferrari is pure fascination and a purely emotional, irrational matter of the heart. The global fan community is therefore committed to it, cheers for their brand at every Formula 1 race and celebrates every new model that is introduced accordingly. Enough chatting, now to our red, 8-cylinder highlight with a tiny 2000 cc displacement. Maybe we should start with this: Despite - or perhaps because of - the exceptionally well-preserved condition, an incredible € 57,000.00 was invested in this example over the last 11 years so that it would not be exposed when assessed by classicData specialists: result grade 1-, market value € 125,000. The reader should not draw hasty, completely wrong conclusions from this. This is by no means a particularly trouble-prone Monday car, but rather the case of 2 previous owners who wanted to turn one of the best-preserved examples of the 208 GTS turbo into probably the best one available. In our view, they succeeded, even if we don't know all of them on the market. What we can do, however, is to get a precise picture of the vehicle in front of us: the more we deal with this complex sports car, the more we realize that there is simply nothing left to improve on this Ferrari. After all, despite its extremely low total mileage, this vehicle is fast approaching 40 years of age. People tend to use the mileage of such a car as a key parameter of its current condition. In our view, however, the time factor is the far more important point. All of the components that make up such a vehicle are not designed and developed to last for decades. For example, every seal, regardless of material and quality, ages, becomes brittle, hard and therefore leaks. It doesn't matter whether it got old while standing or driving during this aging process. It just gets old... and the same goes for joints, cable sheaths, switches and many other components. Every car manufacturer wants to sell cars, both today and in many decades to come, which is why they build solid (not to be confused with immortal!) cars in the best case scenario, which age over the course of their use and will therefore be replaced at some point. So if a Ferrari is almost 40 years old in front of us, it has basically already had 2-3 car lives behind it. Accordingly, the expectations and demands should be placed on the original abilities - an older gentleman should no longer be forced to perform at his best... 1986 Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo Intercooler DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
