- 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350
Current FIA-htp Perfect for motorsport events such as Peter Auto, Master Series, etc. Very fast, well prepared vehicle Successful race entries in Le Mans Classic, Peter Auto events, etc. The racing driver Caroll Shelby used parts from his successful racing car (AC Shelby Cobra) to build a highly performance sports car based on the Ford Mustang Fastback. It could be ordered from the Ford Motor Company, was then converted by Caroll Shelby’s company and delivered as either a road car or a racing car. The first Shelby version of the Mustang appeared in 1965. All ’65 Shelbys were painted white with (optional) parallel blue stripes. This Ford Mustang GT 350 was shipped from Shelby to Tasca Ford after its completion in 1965 and sold to its first owner Richard G. Leuchner in August 1966. Its subsequent history is well documented in this available Shelby Register. In the 1990s, the car came from England to Sweden to Lars-Göran Andersson. Under his direction, the vehicle was fully restored and prepared for use in historic motorsport. In 2013, the car was sold to its last owner Hipólito Pires in Portugal. The vehicle was successfully raced in many Peter Auto events such as Le Mans Classic, Tour Auto and other series. The engine has recently been completely overhauled by Total Performance. An extract from the Shelby Register and many invoices from the 1960s are available. 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1995-porsche-911-speedster-remastered-by-gunther-werks
Gunther Werks focuses on obsessively “remastering” the type-993 911—last generation of the air-cooled Porsches—with fully bespoke carbon fiber bodywork, custom-engineered chassis components, and highly tuned, flat-six engines, all of which combine to provide a soulful, analog driving experience in stark contrast to today’s electronics-laden supercars. The Huntington Beach, California-based company launched in 2017 with a “remastered” coupe, of which only 25 were built. A speedster followed in 2020, offering an even more focused and unfiltered driving experience than the coupe. Also limited to just 25 examples, all have been allocated, making the example offered here an incredible find. The speedster’s remastering process begins with a 993-generation 911 Carrera Cabriolet stripped down to bare metal and the chassis fully restored before being reinforced with carbon fiber components, including additional structural bracing in the space previously occupied by the rear seats. A carbon fiber windshield frame and cowl with aluminum reinforcements, along with a roll cage and roll hoop—integrated as support for the tonneau cover—combine with other reinforcement measures to create what Gunther Werks claims is a convertible chassis twice as stiff as the standard coupe with no added weight penalty. Underpinning the carbon fiber exoskeleton is a proprietary chassis setup with a bespoke damper system, custom suspension arms with revised geometry, uprated anti-roll bars, lightweight uprights, a front strut brace, and a hydraulic front lift system to help with speed bumps and driveway ramps. The original 3.6-liter naturally aspirated flat six-cylinder engine was shipped to Rothsport Racing in Sherwood, Oregon, where it was detailed, stripped, and rebuilt to 4.0 liters of displacement with an extensive list of forged internals and race-spec components. Claimed output is more than 430 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, managed through a Getrag G50 six-speed manual transaxle beefed up with stronger internals, a single-mass mid-weight flywheel, and an uprated single-plate clutch. Known as the "Buenos Aires Commission," this Gunther Werks Speedster completed production in July 2023. It is finished in black with dark bronze center-locking wheels, Black Edition headlights, LED tails, and nickel-finished accents—a timeless color scheme sure to hold its appeal with collectors and enthusiasts indefinitely. The cabin blends classic 911 elements with obsessive Gunther Werks craftsmanship, including black leather carbon fiber shell seats, five-piece carbon fiber floor paneling, and countless bespoke details, including three-way adjustable dampers from JRZ Suspension Engineering, custom gear ratios, and black-finished aerodynamic door handles. The car showed just 13 miles at cataloguing time, offering an exceedingly rare opportunity to acquire a virtually new, fully bespoke, open-top, air-cooled masterpiece no longer in production. 1995 Porsche 911 Speedster Remastered by Gunther Werks RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1969 Abarth 1300 Scorpione SS
Leo Aumüller owns one of the world’s largest Abarth collections and is known as one of the best Abarth experts. Aumüller considers the Abarth Scorpione 1300 to be a very special rarity: only about 30-40 Scorpione SSs were built, while the more basic version with only one “S” was built in the region of 300 units. He estimates that there are perhaps 15-20 Scorpione SSs left in the world today. This Scorpione SS in the vivid original light blue colour was stripped down and rebuilt between 2010 and 2012. The engine and gearbox were also rebuilt. Since then, it has been carefully maintained and the exhaust system has been made from new. For the purpose of completeness, the previously missing original rims and wheel covers were also purchased through Leo Aumüller. A rare and beautiful collector’s car with a famous name! About the history of the Abarth Scorpione: The design of the Scorpione was drawn by Giuseppe Rinaldi, who was in the service of Francis Lombardi. He borrowed some aspects of the design of the Lamborghini Miura, which gave the Abarth Scorpione the inofficial name of “Mini-Miura”. Lombardi as a coachbuilder was responsible for the bodywork of the Abarth, which was also visible in the fact that there was a very similar “Lombardi Grand Prix”. However, only with an 850cc engine, whereas the Scorpione built by Abarth was fired by a high-performance 1300cc engine. With a dry weight of only 670 kilograms, this rear-engined sports car is still a thrilling driving machine today. The SS version of the Scorpione is also equipped with a more technically sophisticated chassis and disc brakes all round. The Abarth Scorpione was one of the last cars to be built under the aegis of Carlo Abarth. The sales price at the time was three times that of a Fiat 850 and therefore limited the number of potential buyers willing to spend that money. 1969 Abarth 1300 Scorpione SS Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1959 BMW 507 Roadster Series II
From 1956 to 1959, a total of 252 BMW 507s were produced. BMW presented the Type 507 at the IAA 1955. With a price of almost DM 30,000, the car was almost as expensive as a Mercedes 300 SL, which was only offered as a roadster from 1957. This meant that it was only affordable for extremely well-heeled customers, which also led to an extremely low production figure of just 252 vehicles. The body was designed by industrial designer Albrecht Graf Goertz. The body was made of aluminium. Today, the 507 is considered a design icon and is a highly sought-after collector’s item. The vehicle presented here is one of the last examples built and, according to the BMW certificate and original registration document (“Pappdeckelbrief”), it was delivered to its first owner in Frankfurt in 1959 in the colour featherwhite. The vehicle was delivered from the factory with disc brakes and central locking wheels. The current owner acquired the car in July 1973. Around 25 years ago, the vehicle was completely restored by the renowned BMW 507 specialist Erwin Brummer through the mediation of BMW AG in accordance with the documentation provided. In addition to the complete documentation, it is particularly remarkable that this example is one of the few BMW 507s still in existence that is still completely original in all its components, including the engine. A comprehensive expertise by a renowned expert is available. This is an opportunity not to be missed and a must-have for any important collection. - 1972 De Tomaso Pantera Group4
An extensively restored, road registered, Group 4 'homage' offered at a fraction of the recent build cost. 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, #02334, is a fascinating car in our opinion and offers versatility for both fast road use, or as a potential entry to some of the best historic motorsport on offer around the world today. The previous owner, having attended historic events such as, Spa Italia, Laguna Seca and the Le Mans Classic had become rather enthusiastic about the De Tomaso Pantera and decided he would like to build a multi-purpose example that was better equipped and better detailed than any other he had seen at these events. After much searching, he managed to locate a car in the USA in 2012 which had not been used for some time and was effectively a ‘barn-find’. He managed to purchase the car and after being imported to the UK, it was subject to a bare metal restoration and carefully and expertly built with no expense spared. The intention of the build was to create an iconic car which would reflect the racing history of the marque in the Group 3 and Group 4 era, but with a few enhancements and tweaks to make it a more practical and user-friendly on the road. The Story of ‘02334’ and its extensive restoration has been superbly captured in the accompanying bespoke hard-back book in the car’s history file. The book contains lots of useful information as to why it was created, and how it was created along with more history about these special cars. There is simply too much to list here but some highlights of this car’s impressive specification are listed below and more information can be supplied upon request: Carbon Fibre Bonnet, decklid and doors T45 high-strength steel roll-cage by Nick Garrat to MSA standards Magnesium 13” Campagnolo wheels. Group 4 flared arches AP Racing brakes front and rear Tillet Carbon Fibre lightweight driver seat Aluminium Koni Adjustable shocks. Set up by Pantera specialist, Steve Gilby Twin fuel tanks with ATL level sender Ford V8 bespoke build by Jeff Raeburn, aluminium block, custom Racetech forged pistons with Holley 850hp carb. Dyno results available upon request Gearbox rebuilt by ZF specialist Paul Fleming. Lightweight racing flywheel and clutch fitted Rally timing telemetry and equipment for competitive historic rally events The Pantera is road registered with the plate ‘351 PAN’ which our vendor is generously including in the sale. The livery is an homage to an example that raced at Le Mans in period and a 1/18th scale model of that Le Mans car is included in the sale along with a spare set of period shock absorbers, driveshafts, and head light covers, which can be fitted in place of the race equivalent currently fitted. Fitted with new Pirelli tyres all-round, the car comes complete with easily detachable silencers for road use and additional bolt on silencers for 105Db track days. It was always designed to be ‘dual-purpose’ and has proved to be reasonably tractable on the road. It was treated to a Goodwood track day, driven by the De Tomaso Drivers Club UK Secretary, Richard Pogson, who reported, “I had the opportunity to drive this car in 2021 and again in 2022. I found it a pussy cat on the road and an absolute wild cat on the track, even a track novice like me was inspired. Such a good looking car attracts so much attention, I felt like a celebrity driving it”. The car has also been exhibited at the British Motor Show. Overall, there has been an awful lot of time, money and careful thought been put into ‘02334’ over the past few years and we therefore encourage all interested parties to come to the NEC to see the results of all this hard work for themselves, along with spending time reading about the cars fascinating journey. Being offered at a very sensible estimate when you consider what it would cost to replicate to this standard today, this looks like a very interesting proposition indeed. 1972 De Tomaso Pantera Group4 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1995 Ferrari F512 M
A nod to the old and the new ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ From a design point of view, there are countless arguments to support this. Take the Fender Stratocaster, the Eames Lounge Chair and the Hermés Birkin bag, for example. In the car world, too… just look at the Porsche 911. Back in the 1980s, though, the 911 – and just about every other red-blooded sports car – was overshadowed by another: the Ferrari Testarossa. For us, it’s the poster car of the era, that straked Pininfarina design capturing the collective imagination so vividly. Ferrari clearly comprehended the value of the Testarossa’s aesthetic appeal. So much so that it built two subsequent iterations retaining Pininfarina’s fundamental design, the 512 TR and the F512 M, and produced them until 1996 – a whopping 12 years after the original Testarossa was introduced in 1984. With the F512 M accounting for only 501 of the circa-10,000 Testarossa models built in total, it is by far the rarest and thus most desirable. The production numbers are just the start, though, when it comes to the F512 M (denoting Modificata). In extensively modernising the car, both from technological and aerodynamic perspectives, Ferrari finally built a package truly worthy of the Testarossa’s revered design. “In extensively modernising the car, both from technological and aerodynamic perspectives, Ferrari finally built a package truly worthy of the Testarossa’s revered design.” While the soul-stirring flat-12 engine’s power increase to 440HP and the introduction of a gas-filled suspension system did wonders to transform the driving experience, it was the myriad upgrades with a view to enhancing the refinement of the car that made the greatest difference. The air-conditioning, fixed homofocal headlights, F355 seats and the clever ABS braking system, for example, were worth far more than the sum of their parts. Chassis no. 101899 The United Kingdom’s flagship Ferrari dealer Maranello Concessionaires delivered this F512 M to its first owner in November of 1995. One of only 41 right-hand-drive examples destined for the British market, chassis no. 101899 is finished in the timeless colour combination of Rosso Corsa over a Crema interior with contrasting Rosso carpets. The 19 years that followed tell a story of infrequent use and fastidious maintenance, as evidenced in the five accompanying history binders charting chassis no. 101899’s life. Having always remained in the United Kingdom, this F512 M’s handful of subsequent owners have covered a mere 9,289 miles to date. Between 1999 and 2015, maintenance of this car was handled exclusively by the Midlands-based Official Ferrari Service Centre Graypaul. And as you would expect from such diligent owners, the complete Ferrari and original factory tool kit and leather documents pouch (including the all-important warranty card) and spare key remain with the car. With regards to servicing, August of 2024 saw chassis no. 101899 have a raft of major components replaced, including the fuel tanks, fuel pumps, complete clutch, cam cover gaskets and exhaust silencer and gaskets. In addition, the brake calipers and the bonnet struts were overhauled. Further, in November, the Official Ferrari Service Centre JCT600 treated all the cabin’s plastic switchgear, which is known to go sticky with age, and conolised the sumptuous Crema leather upholstery. Needless to say, this F512 M presents in a manner commensurate with its story. The condition is top-tier, with only a handful of near-imperceptible imperfections to the paintwork and a tiny spot of delamination to the windscreen surround, while the interior shows only minor signs of wear to the upholstery, as you’d envisage from a car that’s covered fewer than 10,000 miles. With rarity on its side, a core design that can’t help but bring out your inner 10-year-old, and a driving experience that retains the thrill of the original Testarossa, yet is firmly in the modern age in terms of refinement, the F512 M is a curious blend of history, charm and technology. In fact, we think it’s a car worthy of every great Ferrari collection. As clichéd as it sounds, chassis no. 101899 is a car you need to see in the metal to truly appreciate its excellent condition. It’s currently located here at our Oxfordshire headquarters and is available for viewings on appointment. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright A nod to the old and the new ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ From a design point of view, there are countless arguments to support this. - 1973 Alfa Romeo Montreal
In 1967, Alfa Romeo dipped its toe into the Supercar sector by launching the Montreal, named after the Montreal Expo where it made its debut. It was powered by an all-new V8 quad-cam competition-derived power unit with dry-sump lubrication taken from the successful Type 33 sports racer and mated to a 5-speed ZF gearbox. With a capacity of 2,593cc, the V8 featured twin overhead camshafts per bank and produced, via Alfa Romeo/Spica fuel injection and Bosch electronic ignition, 200bhp at 6,500rpm. This provided excellent performance with a top speed of 137mph and 0-60mph in just 7.6 seconds. Under the exotic Bertone designed 2+2 coupé coachwork, the Montreal incorporated many stylish features, such as the headlamp eyelids and the NACA duct on the bonnet. Offered here is a left-hand drive Montreal that was built on 5th July 1973 and sold new on 10th July 1973 to the UK. Originally finished in Arancio Metallizzato (Orange Metallic) with Nero (Black) interior and was first registered as UPA 8M, as it is today. The car was acquired by its current owner in the spring of 2018 from an Englishman living in France after an advertisement for its sale had been seen describing it as a part-completed restoration project. Upon purchase, our private, knowledgeable and enthusiastic vendor set about a complete restoration to his exacting standards. He has worked with cars and in Motorsport for over 45 years, including a stint as Chief Mechanic under Ross Brawn at TWR for the Jaguar Endurance Racing team, so he really knows his stuff. There is a large file accompanying the car which the seller has kindly catalogued and presented with pictures, invoices and correspondence on what exactly was done during the restoration, including addressing some known reliability elements on these cars. The restoration encompassed every aspect of the car and where new parts were required, these were sourced either from Classic Alfa or other recognised specialists. Bills relating to the surface preparation of the body shell by SPL in 2018 and its subsequent re-cleaning and electrophoretic coating in October 2019 are also on file. Our vendor conservatively estimates that at least 900-1,000 of his own man-hours have gone into the car over the past four years and the results are clear to see. Having bought the car whilst it was painted red, the decision was made during the restoration to take back to its original colour of Arancio Metallizzato, using cellulose rather than a water-based paint. Prior to his ownership, the engine had been rebuilt by Rob Thompson and again, this is documented in the file. There is simply far too much information to list here so we encourage interested parties to inspect all the relevant documents, and the car itself, to fully take in and understand the level of detail and expertise that’s gone into presenting this fabulous Alfa in its current stunning condition. Showing an odometer reading of just over 11,500km (which cannot be verified) the Montreal is also accompanied by an official Alfa Romeo Authenticity Certificate dated 31st January 2019 together with the Alfa Romeo Museum Curator's signed Statement of Fact confirming the Montreal's original provenance and its delivery to the UK. Coming to auction at a very competitive estimate, when you consider the rarity and the level of recent expenditure, this landmark Alfa is now ready for its next lucky owner to use and enjoy as originally intended. 1973 Alfa Romeo Montreal Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1967 Lamborghini 400GT 2+2
Matching-Numbers Example of Italy's Most Sophisticated Grand Tourer of the 1960's An Exciting California Garage Find 400GT 2+2, Presented in As-Found Largely Unrestored Condition Longtime California Resident, Last registered on 1979 California License Plates (numbered 820 NYR) One of Only 247 Examples Produced from 1966-68 Originally delivered in stunning Azzurro Fiat over Senape Leather Upholstery Equipped with Air Conditioning, Power Windows and Motorola AM/FM Radio An Excellent Base for Light Recommissioning – Notably Solid and Complete Introduced at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show, the Lamborghini 400 GT was an evolution of the company's first model, the 350 GT. The new name signified the increased engine size to four liters, while the greater overall length accommodated four seats, resulting in the 2+2 configuration – combining performance and elegance in a highly capable road car. Chassis #01012 was completed May 9, 1967, and soon destined for the United States via Jake Kaplan's East Coast Lamborghini distributorship - finished in a most stunning Azzurro Fiat over Senape Leather Upholstery. The 400GT found its way to the West Coast and would later take up uninterrupted residency in garaged storage for several decades. It was discovered and transferred to our care and ownership in 2020. Today, the Lamborghini presents, in highly original condition – with the exception of an early exterior repaint in red, while retaining its last 1979 registered California “Blue Plates”. 01012 comes recognized by the International Lamborghini Registry as a numbers-matching example, from a relatively famed and documented California garage find (See: https://www.torqtalk.com/home/ultimate-barn-find-67-lamborghini-400-gt-22 ). A straight body displays consistent gaps, original glass, trim, rubbers, lenses and fittings, complemented by 15x6.5 Borrani wire wheels and aged 205SR15 tires. Inside, the cabin appears to retain the majority its original trim, upholstery, and components as well. This includes its coveted Borletti air conditioning, period Motorola AM/FM radio, wood-rimmed steering wheel, power windows, toggle switches and various original equipment. The GT's original leather and surrounds were dyed to its current black color – likely around the same time as the body repaint. Both of the Lamborghini's Azzurro Fiat (light blue metallic) and Senape (tan) original paint and upholstery colors can be seen on various areas of the vehicle. In this unusually seen livery, 01012 would benefit greatly if taken back to its delivery form. Originality continues to the engine compartment, including the heat shield/pad and identification plaques auxiliary and a/c equipment. The luggage compartment is properly lined and houses a correct Borrani spare tire. The undercarriage retains a solid frame, steering, and suspension components – representative of a lifetime spent in the mild California climate. With an engine designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, fresh from Ferrari, and a chassis engineered by Gianpaolo Dallara, Touring's Superleggera bodywork untimely crowns the charging bull.
