- 1963 Aston Martin DB4 Convertible 1
In many ways, the DB4 was the model that foretold Aston Martin’s future. Introduced in 1958, the saloon was entirely new from the ground-up; a newly designed chassis was fitted with all-round disc brakes, and the famous engineer Tadek Marek designed an all-new six-cylinder engine. All this was housed in a stunning saloon fastback body penned by Touring of Milan; it was this styling that would influence future Aston Martin models for many years to come. As the years progressed, Aston Martin continued to refine its star model; aficionados have separated the model into five distinct series. Upgrades to successive series included subtle body modifications including recessed rear lights, a lower bonnet scoop, and a new grille with vertical bars, in addition to the resolution of mechanical issues such as engine overheating. The DB4 GT was launched the following year in 1959, and was powered by 3,670 cc twin-overhead camshaft engine, breathing via three Weber 45 DCOE carburettors, and producing a claimed 302 brake-horsepower at 6,000 rpm. In 1961, Aston Martin unveiled a convertible version of the DB4. With just 70 produced, the DB4 Convertible is one of Aston Martin’s rarer models. Delivered on 19 July 1963 to Aston Martin of Brooklands, Weybridge, chassis DB4C/1173/R was a very special example of the Series V Convertible. It left the factory in the stunning colour combination of Midnight Blue over a Red Connolly leather interior, complemented by optional chrome wire wheels and a Powr-Lok 3.31:1 differential. But what really set it apart was its powerplant, being the only example of its type to be fitted with a DB4 GT-specification engine by the Aston Martin factory. Collected by its first owner, Mr. Goodwin of Hale, Cheshire, chassis 1173/R was first registered with the number plate “70 GLB”. From 1963 to 1970, little is known about the history of this DB4, though factory service notes state in February 1967 that the GT engine was replaced due to failure and exchanged with a standard unit. Chassis DB4C/1173/R was clearly in regular use, with service notes from 1963 to 1971 showing more than 65,000 miles had been covered, with regular maintenance carried out. By the early 1970s, a Mr. Stroud of Hampstead, North London had acquired the car and re-registered it with the rather fitting “DB 4” number plate. Of note are period photographs depicting this DB4 at a farm, with Mr. Stroud posing next to chassis 1173/R alongside amateur racer Nick Cussons and his DB5. Stroud retained the car for just a few years before selling it to Hewlett Packard executive Marcel Cohen-Hadria, who had the car exported to California. Notes on the build sheet confirm that Cohen-Hadria owned the car from 1974 until 1977, before selling it to a gentleman in Connecticut. By 1984, The Aston Martin Register notes that the car had returned to the UK and was registered as “114 JGF”, then fitted with engine number 370/0692. Four years later, this DB4 Convertible was still in the UK, but no ownership details are recorded. At some point thereafter, this Aston Martin found its way back to the United States, and in July 2006 was owned by a gentleman in the state of Maine. The car was in need of total restoration, but still retained the supplying “Cheshire Sports Cars” dealership plate on the glove box—likely a relic from its first owner, Mr. Goodwin. Acquired by the current owner in 2014, the decision was taken to send chassis DB4C/1173/R to Aston Martin Works for a no-expenses-spared, concours-standard restoration. This DB4 is accompanied by an Aston Martin restoration certificate and book, detailing the thousands of hours spent returning the car to its factory specification, documenting stages from paintwork through to the creation of a new “SS” (Special Series) engine block and “GT” cylinder head. During the restoration, Aston Martin began by assessing the condition of the car, before deciding to carry out a bare metal restoration of the body. The bulk of the bodywork was replaced due to its condition; using traditional methods; brand new panels were fabricated by hand. The body was finished in the factory-correct colour of Midnight Blue, and the original interior was re-upholstered in the correct Red Connolly leather. The engine in the car was not of the correct type and was subsequently removed. A new “SS-type” block was fitted, alongside a “GT” cylinder head, meaning that the car is now powered by a GT-specification engine, correct of the type it originally left the Newport Pagnell factory with. The braking and suspension systems were entirely overhauled, and a new wide ratio gearbox was installed. Every facet of the DB4 was touched by the highly skilled team at Aston Martin Works, and part-way through the restoration in 2019, the car was displayed on the firm’s stand at Rétromobile in Paris. By 2022, three long years of work had been completed, and this DB4 Convertible left the workshop in concours condition. The car received an Aston Martin restoration certificate, and leather-bound book detailing the immense amount of work taken to restore the car. The Aston Martin is accompanied by a copy of the build sheet, previous titles, and digital copies of period photographs. Chassis DB4C/1173/R represents the sole chance to acquire the one and only DB4 Convertible fitted with a “GT” engine supplied by the factory. Now beautifully restored by Aston Martin Works, this drop-top DB4 will surely be the pride of its new owner. 1963 Aston Martin DB4 Convertible RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1991 Ferrari Testarossa 1
Swiss delivery Matching numbers Swiss road registration The Ferrari Testarossa offered here was delivered in April 1990 in the color Giallo Modena and leather black by the then Ferrari dealer Sportgarage Bruno Wyss in Zofingen, to a customer in the Solothurn area. The car has always been perfectly maintained and is in top collector condition with just over 49’000 original kilometers. The on-board folder with all documentation, owner’s manual, service booklet and neatly kept exhaust maintenance document are present as well as the original on-board tools, jack and a workshop manual. This beautiful Ferrari Testarossa is matching numbers and colors and comes fresh from the MOT. The Motor Show in Paris saw the return of the glorious Testarossa, a descendant of the 512 BBi, in October 1984. Pininfarina’s design broke with tradition while being both stunning and innovative. The side air intakes were larger than those on the previous model. This led to the introduction of the side planks that would soon become the Testarossa’s trademark. The car’s name, which means “red head” in Italian, derives from the red-painted valve covers of the 12-cylinder engine, which was equipped with four valves per cylinder: this was also, at the time of the car’s presentation, the most powerful engine ever fitted to a production sports car. 1991 Ferrari Testarossa Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1995 Porsche 911 GT2
The vehicle offered here is without doubt one of the most extraordinary Porsches we have ever offered for sale. The term automobile is probably out of place. A work of art would be a much better description. With only 11 units built, a Porsche 993 GT2 EVO is already one of the rarest models ever built in Zuffenhausen or Weissach. The example shown here, however, is an absolute one-off. Built by Porsche to celebrate the presentation of the GT2 EVO at the 1995 IAA in Frankfurt. For this purpose, the car was given a unique paint job. A masterpiece in the so-called ”Harlekin” design was created in elaborate manual work to show what is feasible on the Porsche stand - and not only in technical terms. Nowadays, there would only be one place for such a unique specimen, namely the Porsche Museum. In 1995 this was different. One of the most important and influential customers of the brand made a decision at the sight of this car, from which he would not be dissuaded. This GT2 EVO was to find its way into his private museum. And so it happened that Porsche actually sold the car. This process was undoubtedly as unique as the car itself and is unlikely to have been repeated in this form a second time in the company’s history. The new owner regarded the Porsche as a pure work of art, lavishly displayed in his private collection. Untouched in 25 years - although the car was kept ready for use at all times. It is thanks to this meticulous care that, at the time of its purchase by our company in 2020, this unique specimen arrived in our halls in fully operational condition. For the following 3 years, the car remained in our in-house collection before the decision was made to release this unique piece for sale. The statement ”a unique opportunity” is clearly given too lightly in our industry these days, in this case it seems almost an understatement. To be able to call this car your own is simply like reaching the Olympus as a Porsche collector. 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 JamesEdition B.V. - 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi
In October 1976, no doubt spurred on by the imminent arrival of Lamborghini's wild LP400 Countach S, Ferrari upstaged the financially troubled Sant' Agata manufacturer by releasing their 512 Berlinetta Boxer at the Paris Auto Salon, a revised version of the 365 BB, one that was more driveable in all conditions and with an enlarged 5.0-litre engine to provide greater torque. With the exception of a wider rear track, few set-up changes were made, the outgoing 365's 4.4-litre flat-12 engine undergoing the most fundamental revisions. Despite no fundamental changes being made to the bodywork, a couple of detail alterations do help identify 512's from 365 BB's. Most obviously was a new wraparound chin spoiler, NACA ducts carved out from in front of the rear wheel arches and twin rear lights rather than distinctive triple clusters. New wing mirrors and a mildly reworked rear valance housing four exhaust pipes instead of six also differentiated the new version. Inside some minor switchgear and instrument relocation could be noticed. The 512 Berlinetta Boxer continued in production until late 1981, by which time some 823 left hand drive examples had been completed and only 106 right hand drive examples. Later in the year 1981, during October Paris Salon, Ferrari's 512 BBi most notably marked the arrival of fuel injection on Ferrari's flat-12. Replacing the familiar Weber carbs (seen on almost every previous Ferrari model) fuel injection not only improved an engine's flexibility but made it much easier to maintain, to live with, to start from cold as well as prolonging the lifetime of the engine. The BBi would remain in production for almost three years. A few minor detail changes were made to the bodywork with clear reflectors inserted into the front bumper and supplementary driving lights now exposed in the grille and even new wing mirrors. 1,007 fuel injected Berlinetta Boxers were completed, taking entire BB production to just over 2,300 examples. Completed in 1984, this example was ordered from new in the lesser seen Nero over matching Nero hide interior. Imported into the USA shortly after it was built, this BBi was sold to its first owner, Tom Marron of Bellmore, through Steven Kessler Motor Cars of New York City. As of early 1990, the car had been sold from Marron back to the supplying dealer. In 1993, the BBi was sold to Bruce Perrone of Pittsburgh having covered just 3,400 kilometres from new. Perrone would again retain the car for just two years, before offering it for sale in the Ferrari Market Letter in September of 1995. Perrone had covered just 900 kilometres in two years and the mileage stood at just 4,300 kilometres by the time the car was 11 years old. The car was purchased by James and Victoria Crozier in 1996 for just $5,100. The Croziers would continue to use this wonderful BBi sparingly; a service invoice on file from 2002 notes the mileage at 9,200 km. It is understood that the car remained in the Pittsburgh area until at least 2003 and sometime thereafter, it was acquired by a New York–based collector. The car moved across to California before purchase by the current owner. Purchased in 2017 by the current custodian, this example was imported and registered in the UK. At the time of import, the BBi had covered just 12,730 kilometres. In the care of a single private owner since, this BBi has been serviced by DK Engineering and received some other mechanical works by reputable marque specialists. Today, presenting with just 13,950 km (8,670 miles) from new, this fantastic example of Ferrari’s final iteration of the Berlinetta Boxer lineage presents superbly. Fully imported, presenting in the rare combination of Nero over Nero hide and UK road registered this BBi is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately and will be further serviced by DK Engineering as a part of the sale. 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi D.K. This Superformance Cobra MKIII is a replica of the third-generation 427 Shelby Cobra. Superformance built the Cobra under license from Carroll Shelby, tailored to the customer's specifications, and is regarded by experts as the highest quality Cobra replica. The car we are offering was first put into use in the Netherlands in November 2001. Driving this car is a true thrill. This engine has only 5,000 km on it. On this occasion, new side pipes developed by Samba Engineering were also installed. If desired, the original, slightly more muffled exhausts are included separately. The street-legal balloon tires, which are nearly unmatched in appearance (front: 235/60/R15, rear: 295/60/R15), are new. The exterior, in the most sought-after color combination, the immense power, and the sound of the heavy V8 never get old. A true enthusiast's car like they no longer make. In June 1989 the Aston was sent to Strattons of Salford for an oil service at 9959 miles and was saw minimal use until it was sent to Chapman Spooner Ltd in June 1994 where it received a 10,000 mile service, automatic gearbox rebuild and attention to the air conditioning system Further sundry parts invoices from Stratstone were issued in February 1999 and the MoT history outlined at the bottom of the description shows the car was used sparingly for the following few years. The Volante was only used by Mr Ashworth on high days and holidays and lived alongside a very original DB5 that we entrusted to sell on behalf of the family in 2012 as well as a Commerative V12 E Type Roadster The decision was made by the family in December 2018 to commission restoration specialists Mitchell Motors of Wiltshire to carry out chassis restoration works, mileage now reading just over 13,000 miles The history file contains invoices and photographs depicting the works which included cutting away lower sections of front and rear wings, blasting back to bare aluminium, removing the doors, cutting away sills on both sides, cutting away box sections and remanufacturing box sections and floor sides where required, weld in new outrigger sections, weld in new sills, weld wing bottoms back on, refit doors and repaint the sides, the total cost of which was GBP 12,000 Since the works listed above the Aston has lived in professional temperature-controlled storage and has seen very little use since. We are delighted to have been selected by the Ashworth family to find a new loving home for their Volante and upon its arrival with us it flew through an MoT, issued in July 2024 with total mileage today showing 13,488 We are very fortunate to handle some great Aston Martin motorcars but rarely do we see cars with such low mileage and ownership in such great colours. This two owner Volante is supplied with two sets of keys, original owners book containing original service booklet and warranty card, original Blaupunkt Toronto radio and manual, associated history file with service records and original V5 documents (old and current) and retains the cherished registration ‘AM 444’ which is available for purchase via separate negotiation Without question one of the lowest mileage right hand drive V8 Volante’s extant, our research shows this to be the sole RHD EFi Volante delivered in Burnham Green and is a genuine, very original and unmolested low mileage example. Interested parties should note that further maintenance between 1987-2018 was undertaken in house by the family-owned garages which included a Bentley franchise but the Volante may require some recommissioning prior to use following its period in storage. - 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster 1
Black Exterior Finish, Red Interior – From New! Matching Numbers Rudge Wheels Spare, Tools, Knock-off Hammer, Owner’s Manual Ground Up Restoration 1 of 552 Produced in 1958 – Last Year of the Speedster Push-Rod Engine Production First in Class, Carmel-By-The-Sea Concours 2019 Created and built on the vision by one of America’s most prolific importers Max Hoffman, the Porsche 356 Speedster filled a void that the clever automotive industrialist thought was lacking: a lightweight, few frills, open top sports car. His intuition, like many other times, proved to be correct and the Speedster was a resounding success. Finding iconic owners such as Steve McQueen saw the Speedster’s popularity shoot into the stratosphere, and today these low-slung 356s are some of the most sought-after variants built by Porsche. The 356 Speedster holds significant historical importance in the evolution of sports car design and automotive culture. At its core, the Speedster represented a departure from conventional luxury and performance cars of its time. Conceived as a stripped down, more affordable variant of the Porsche 356, it embodied a purist approach to driving pleasure. Introduced in the post-war era, the 356 Speedster catered to a growing demand for lightweight, nimble sports cars that emphasized agility and handling over sheer horsepower. Its minimalist design, characterized by a low, raked windshield, and removable top, reflected this philosophy. This simplicity not only reduced weight, but also enhanced the driving experience, allowing automotive enthusiasts to feel more connected to the road. Moreover, the 1958 Speedster played a pivotal role in popularizing the Porsche brand here in the United States. With its sleek styling and engaging driving dynamics, it captivated a new generation of enthusiasts. Its success laid the groundwork for Porsche’s subsequent achievements in motorsport and its enduring reputation as a manufacturer of high-performance sports cars. This 356 received a ground up restoration. Every element of the Speedster was addressed during the restoration process, with the intention that the car be as meticulous mechanically as it would be cosmetically flawless, knowing that the stunning color combination of a beautiful black over red interior would make for the perfect Best of Show contender. Every component of the car was disassembled, assessed, and restored to perfection. 1958 was the last year of 356 Speedster push-rod production, with an estimated 552 produced. Presented here is an excellent opportunity to be the next caretaker of a concours-level, expertly restored Speedster. Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through an extensive and diligent process called the “Canepa Difference.” This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They also receive award-winning concours-level detailing, including a thorough cleaning of each and every surface. 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 2
This 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera is finished in Black over Black, and benefits from some RS-style modifications, giving it a unique look. At the time of cataloging, this car shows 171,668 miles and was sold new in Connecticut. At some point in the car’s life, it was treated to some very attractive upgrades on the exterior that are meant to evoke the 993 Carrera RS - a car that was never officially imported stateside. The first thing you will notice is the wide, rear spoiler - on the RS, this was known as the “low” spoiler and is clearly inspired by the whale tail you frequently see on G-Body 911s of the 1980s. In front, an RS-style splitter was added beneath the standard bumper, and the front marker lights have been swapped out for brake cooling ducts and small front fog lights. The wheels have also been swapped out for a set of multi-piece BBS wheels that were standard equipment on the 996.1 GT3, giving the car a striking motorsport look. Finished in color-matched black with polished lips, these make the red-painted brake calipers really stand out against the otherwise all black exterior. This Porsche is optioned with a black partial leather interior on the inside. The front seats have partial power adjustment, and a JVC head unit with modern connectivity options has been added in the dashboard. The interior does show some wear on the bolsters but it is all consummate with the age and mileage of the car. Powering the 993 Carrera is a 3.6-liter M64 Flat-6 engine that produces 272 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque and loves to pull hard all the way to the 7,000 rpm redline. 1996 was the first year of the VarioRam system on the 993, which features variable length intake runners and is designed to optimize both low-down torque and high RPM power. The implementation of this system resulted in an increase of 14 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque. In this Carrera, the engine has been freshly serviced and is ready to be driven. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual Getrag gearbox with Porsche’s famous floor-hinged pedals. The 993 Carrera is known as a fantastic driver’s car, and this example is perfect for the enthusiast who wants to enjoy lots of time behind the wheel. When you pair that with the fantastic Carrera RS updates, this is a 993 that will stand out at your local car show, and put a smile on your face every time you drive. 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
