  • 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary by Bertone

To fully appreciate the Lamborghini Countach, one must look back to its origins in the mid-1970s, when “sports car” meant an MG or a Triumph, and the term “supercar” had only recently been coined for this car’s predecessor, the Miura. Doors usually opened only one way, outward, and bodies were still curvy, without sharp angles or wedge shapes. Engines were still usually carried in the front. Into this world came Marcello Gandini’s design, aptly named after a vulgar Italian expression of astonishment, “Countach!” To say that it broke the mold is both cliché and an understatement: This is a car that obliterated the mold. Incredibly low, flat, and angular in the best of ways, it resembled most other manufacturers’ concept vehicles—yet here it was, ready for production and available soon from one’s imported car dealer, in 1974. In production 16 years, it looked as modern and fresh at the end of its run in 1990 as it had when it was introduced. The 25th Anniversary edition introduced in 1988, was admittedly, in Lamborghini’s own view and intention, the ultimate Countach, named in honor of a quarter-century of the Lamborghini marque. This Countach was restyled to the fullest extent possible without requiring re-homologation; cosmetically, ergonomically, and mechanically, the model was effectively born anew under the 25th Anniversary badge. To carry out this monumental development work, Lamborghini tasked none other than in-house talents Horacio Pagani and Sandro Munari. Pagani reformed the exterior front bumper, raking rear wing scoops, lights, rear bumper, and ground effects, while the interior benefitted from the integration of standard climate control, power windows and seats, improved bolstering, and a revised steering assembly. Munari implemented fine-tuned revisions to the suspension and maximized the tire dimensions front and back—a change that reportedly added sufficient grip to drop the car’s 0–60 mph benchmark by half a second. Overall, Pagani and Munari turned the Countach into a far more drivable, road-going machine than previous editions. Research indicates that this Countach 25th Anniversary, chassis KLA12078, was delivered new to Al Ajda Automotive, Saudi Arabia on 27 July 1990. Notably, this example further features the more powerful, carbureted iteration of the Lamborghini V-12 engine. By 2005, the car was in the possession of a Canadian owner; according to the Carfax on file, just 621 kilometers were reported at the time of purchase. Later, in 2014, this Lamborghini became a part of the Dare to Dream Collection, where it has remained since. Finished from the factory in Rosso Siviglia paint over a Champagne leather interior with Rosso piping, the odometer now shows just 2,660 kilometers (~1,653 miles) on the odometer at the time of cataloging. An invoice on file from 2014 indicates the car was cosmetically reconditioned around the time of the most recent purchase. Across the body, the paint was refinished for a consistent look and the interior leather was repaired as needed, resulting in a tidy presentation today. It is accompanied now by tools and manuals with pouch. As motoring journalist Johnny Lieberman stated in an August 2022 Motor Trend article, “The Countach is an attitude, a frame of mind, a monument to what could be and really what should be.” This is certainly a conclusion that any true enthusiast will endorse. An undeniable icon of the Italian motor industry, the Lamborghini Countach cemented the brand as a true player against rival sports car manufacturers Ferrari and Maserati by virtue of its powerful 12-cylinder engine and bold, innovative design. The 25th Anniversary edition served to both refine its attributes and amplify its outlandishness to create the ultimate iteration of this must-have supercar. 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1974-porsche-911-carrera-rs-1

To ensure that the FIA motorsport governing body would homologate its new 3-litre RSR race car for the 1974 season, Porsche developed the road-going 911 Carrera RS 3.0. Shortly after completing some 1,580 examples of the fabled RS 2.7, the Stuttgart factory produced just 55 units of its brawnier successor. Not only were they far scarcer, and over twice the price, but the model was a true homologation special brimmed with technology developed directly for the track. The engine was a detuned RSR motor featuring a Silumin crankcase, single-plug ignition, and a road-legal exhaust system. Meanwhile, the four-piston callipers and drilled discs were lifted directly from the all-conquering, 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning 917 sportscar. The prominent new front air dam helped keep brake temperatures under control while also feeding the oil cooler for the flat-six, which was rated at 230 horsepower. Helping achieve a remarkable weight of only 900 kilograms, the Carrera RS 3.0 was fitted with lightened glass, had all sound deadening removed, and used composite bonnet and engine cover panels. Given the clear link to Porsche’s thoroughbred racers, the example offered here appropriately boasts competition pedigree. Finished in Grand Prix White, this Carrera RS 3.0 was sold new in Stuttgart on 10 January 1974 and supplied to Mr Byker of Düsseldorf. The following year, it was acquired by keen Italian clubman racer Antonino Guagliardo. In July 1975, having found a faster replacement for his Lancia Fulvia and 911 S, Mr Guagliardo fielded the car in the Targa Florio. Entered by Cefalù Corse with second driver Libero Marchiolo, it was resplendent in its Grand Prix White but featured red bumpers. Unfortunately, the Porsche failed to finish. While Mr Guagliardo eventually switched to forced induction in the form of a Porsche 930, he retained the Carrera RS 3.0 for three decades. The car was then sold to France before, in 2014, it was acquired by a Belgian Porsche dealer. It joined The Stuttgart Legends Collection in January 2015. Presented in its factory colour and wearing dished wheels, a Carrera stripe, and Porsche script all finished in gold, this Carrera RS 3.0 benefits from a February 2025 inspection by marque expert Andy Prill (available to view on file). He noted the original chassis stamping and production number, plus several other authentic 3.0 RS features such as the chassis reinforcements and double-skin rear crossmember. While the current engine has been built around a magnesium crankcase, this car is supplied with its matching-numbers original Silumin crankcase. Please note that this Porsche will require mechanical recommissioning prior to driving following a period of static display. Among the most scarce and sought-after of all road-going 911s, this Carrera RS 3.0 boasts period competition history in the Targa Florio and known ownership from new. The opportunity to acquire such a revered homologation special is not to be missed. 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 S

Land-based spaceship The wide, well-sighted road opens before you. An opportunity. As you squeeze the firm throttle pedal with a slow but decisive shove, so the bellowing twelve-cylinder concerto begins to ring out behind you. The audible volume and urgency rises with the thick red needle on the right-hand tachometer. The deliciously long ratios are interrupted only by changes – an action which itself requires a positive throw across the open gate to your right, positioned at what feels like chest height thanks to the ground-hugging reclined seats (themselves objects of sheer Postmodern beauty). There’s really no other word to describe the experience of driving a Lamborghini Countach than theatrical. But for all the gasps, growls, pops, bangs and hisses, this land-based spaceship is not the intimidating, machismo, anxiety-inducing supercar you’d be led to believe. “But for all the gasps, growls, pops, bangs and hisses, this land-based spaceship is not the intimidating, machismo, anxiety-inducing supercar you’d be led to believe.” Yes, you need to sit on the sill to reverse park and it’s not a car you can hesitate with – in a Countach you need to be positive. But from the driver’s seat, forward visibility is fantastic thanks to the short nose which tapers downward. The torque-laden engine makes low-speed driving a doddle. And the cabin is spacious and comfortable. Countach production was long at 16 years (1974 to 1990) and there were a number of different variants. In our opinion, the LP5000S is the sweet spot, with the dramatic flared styling and full-fat 4.75-litre 375bhp V12, fed by six insatiably thirsty double-barrel Weber carburetors. When it was introduced in 1982, the LP5000S (or LP500S dependent on which market) was the third iteration of the Countach, following the LP400 Periscopio and the LP400 S, the latter of which received the comically flared wheel arches. But the addition of the larger 4.75-litre twelve-cylinder, still with 24 valves, finally gave the model the beating heart it deserved. At the time, it was the fastest accelerating, most powerful and most torquey Lamborghini of them all. Over four decades on, the LP5000S represents a desirable proposition for today’s collectors – with only 321 produced, this iteration of the Countach is twice as rare as the LP5000 QV and 25th Anniversary models which followed, yet considerably less valuable than the original LP400 Periscopio. It’s the model which truly turned the Countach into a poster pinup for an entire generation. Chassis number 12740 An LP5000S model which left the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata on 7 July 1984, this Countach – chassis number 12740 – was delivered new to Monaco, finished in Bianco over an oh-so-1980s Bianco interior. Crucially, the original owner went against the grain and opted not to fit the rear wing, which preserved the 182mph top speed. In 1996, the car was imported to California on the West Coast of America and, amusingly, registered with the number ‘BIG LAMB’ – fitting, right? Chassis 12740 remained in California for 20 years, changing hands once and, as the wealth of invoices accompanying the car demonstrate, always diligently maintained. A full engine rebuild was carried out in 2013, costing in excess of 30,000 US dollars. In 2016, this Countach joined the collection of a prominent Lamborghini collector in Germany, which comprised everything from a tractor to LM002 and a Diablo VT 6.0. Said collector promptly sent the car to Top Motors Salvioli, the longstanding Lamborghini specialist in Modena, for a mechanical inspection and service. At this time the gearbox was rebuilt with new seals and synchros, the front and rear suspension was refreshed and the carburetors were cleaned. A second Top Motors invoice details further work carried out the following year totaling 2,000 euros. Chassis number 12740 changed hands again in 2021, remaining in Germany. Lamborghini Singen carried out a service in November of the same year, which included replacement of the door seals, coolant pipes, two tyres, and an overhaul of the entire braking system. Today, this matching-numbers Lamborghini Countach LP5000S is accompanied by a generous history file comprising myriad invoices and a Certificate of Authenticity from the factory in Sant’Agata, confirming its provenance. An example which has benefitted from diligent care and maintenance throughout its life, chassis number 12740 is finished in the most desirable colour combination and drives every bit as good as it is to look at. 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 S Girardo & Co. • 1979 Lotus Esprit S2

"In the early-1970s, the recently appointed Tony Rudd came up with two major ideas, codenamed Project M50 and Project M70, the former became the 1974 Lotus Elite, the latter became the Esprit. The S1 Esprit was released in 1976 following halts in production and design with Colin Chapman being underwhelmed by the model version’s wind tunnel performance, with the S2 launching in 1978. As part of the advertising and marketing program, the S2 was launched featuring an infamous shot of its creator Colin Chapman perched on a Championship Gold S2 Esprit in front of his JPS logo'd Cessna Chancellor executive twin. It's the kind of image that only the 70s could pull off with any degree of normality. External differences from the S1 included new intake and cooling ducts behind the rear quarter windows, 14in Speedline alloy wheels, taillights from the Rover SD1 and an integrated front spoiler. Not known for their practicality, more helpful changes were made including relocating the battery to the rear of the car, adding an access door to the engine cover, installing wider seats and replacing the Veglia instrument cluster with individual Smiths. Following long-term (c.20 year) storage, this S2 presents in remarkably original condition in its launch colour of Championship Gold. The Marcasite faux-Suede interior presents exceptionally well, which is no easy feat as it is notoriously hard to maintain or replace. The carbs have been subject to a full rebuild and set-up by Lotus Specialists with photographic evidence, with any old/worn parts being replaced when warranted. This lovely and well cared for example is reportedly number 10 of just 27 cars built in ‘launch specification’ and has covered a warranted 62,216 (atoc) miles from new, backed up by a host of old MOTs. This S2 runs and drives very well with very minor (yet essential) modern day upgrades such as electronic ignition, improved earthing cables and a battery isolator. Esprit's are striking looking cars anyway and the rare colour of Championship Gold lifts it even further, reflected in success at a recent Shelsley Walsh Concours and numerous magazine articles featuring HLD. It's supplied with a bespoke indoor car cover, lots of invoices and related history, an owners manual and a Lotus Certificate of Provenance." 1979 Lotus Esprit S2 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The 1968 Porsche 908-004 LH "Lang Heck" emerged from Porsche's racing division with one clear objective: endurance racing. As a successor to the 906 and 907, the 908 was meticulously engineered to tackle the era's biggest giants in motorsport. Its creation was a bold declaration, a challenge to the titans of endurance racing's zenith, most notably, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This machine wasn't just built to compete; it was forged to dominate. The 908's design focused on aerodynamic efficiency and weight reduction, making it a formidable contender on the endurance racing circuit. With the 908’s debut, Porsche signaled its challenge. Chassis 908-004 LH didn’t just participate in the World Sportscar Championship; it spearheaded Porsche’s grand assault. With every race, it weaved a narrative of speed, resilience, and pure racing prowess, clinching podiums and victories. In doing so, it didn’t just race; it became a legend, engraving its name in the annals of endurance racing lore. Its debut was nothing short of cinematic – a showcase of promise and potential at the Le Mans test weekend. The 908-004 LH wasn’t just another entrant; it was a protagonist in its own right, overcoming technical hurdles to challenge and often outpace the formidable competitors of its era. Le Mans was more than a race; it was a drama of speed and potential. Every aspect of its engineering, from the powertrain to the chassis and suspension, was crafted to create a car that could withstand the rigors of endurance racing and emerge victorious. The Porsche 908, and specifically Chassis 908-004 LH, represented a pinnacle in racing car design, characterized by its advanced technical specifications that played a crucial role in its performance on the track. The heart of the 908 was its powerful naturally aspirated 3-liter flat-8 air-cooled engine with an equally remarkable drivetrain. Its body was constructed from lightweight fiberglass, and the chassis was made of aluminum to cut its weight further. Chassis 908-004 LH reveals a vehicle designed with an uncompromising focus on performance, reliability, and efficiency. Every aspect of its engineering, from the powertrain to the chassis and suspension, was crafted to create a car that could withstand the rigors of endurance racing and emerge victorious. Now is your chance to own one of the most recognizable Porsche racecars from the glory days of the Grand Prix. With a racing history straight out of the cinema, and the peace of mind of knowing it can still take 1st against the pack when put on the track. Truly the crowning jewel of your collection and one you can still enjoy. • 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4

One of the rarest Ferrari models ever produced, particularly in right-hand drive, the 365 GTC/4 was developed to meet the ever-growing demand among Ferrari's clientele for high-performance Grand Tourers with space for four passengers. It was introduced in March 1971 to replace the 365 GTC, which had been phased out two years earlier. The chassis of the 365 GTC/4 was essentially that of the 365 GTB Daytona, albeit stretched an additional 100 millimetres for extra cabin room, and Pininfarina's newly introduced wind tunnel obviously played a part in the car's sinuous and streamlined shape with no panels shared with other models in the range. The bodywork was steel with aluminium doors and motivation was courtesy of the Daytona's 4.4-litre DOHC V12, slightly softened to produce 340bhp, and fuelled by side-draft, twin-choke Webers allowing a lower bonnet line. Weight distribution was almost perfect at 51:49 thanks to the five-speed gearbox and alloy bell-housing being set well back in the chassis. Around 500 examples were built over an eighteen-month period and, according to online sources, some 41 365 GTC/4s were produced in right-hand drive, with only 31 of those being destined for British shores. 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
