  • 1993 Jaguar XJS 6.0

A rare pre-Celebration model, bought new by our vendor's father, showing a shade over 32,000 miles today and the last of the "Big Cat" grand tourers. The Jaguar XJ-S is perhaps the only motorcar that overcame a hostile launch, multiple recessions, the industrial issues of the period and, incredibly for a single model, helped secure the future of another car manufacturer. Rarely acknowledged, it was the XJ-S that saved Aston Martin, providing, as it did, the basis for Aston’s DB7, the success of which guaranteed the marque’s future. Jaguar’s long awaited 1989 launch of the full convertible finally met the demand for British top-down luxury motoring, and at a reasonable price. The perfect car for the successful gentleman of a certain age wanting a comfortable convertible, the Jaguar cut an elegant dash. A faintly re-styled model, now branded as the XJS, was launched in 1991, sporting 'smoked' wrap-around rear lights and an improved interior with more conventional instrument displays. Two engines were made available, the 6.0-litre V12 and the AJ6-derived 4.0-litre. From 1993, the XJS was produced with colour-coded bumpers and these earlier cars are often mistaken for the 'Celebration' model launched in 1995. The earlier, pre-1995, cars are easy to identify by their leather-trimmed gear selector capped at each end in chrome. Our vendor’s late father firmly believed that a “Big Cat” should be powered by a V12, as his previous E-Type had been, and specified this car with the 6.0-litre V12 when ordering it in the Surrey showrooms of Guy Salmon Jaguar in June 1993 at a cost of £51,603, as confirmed by the accompanying order form and Bill of Sale. The car was delivered a few months later on 25th August 1993, finished in Solent Blue with magnolia leather and a blue mohair hood. Interestingly, this XJS is perhaps one of the last to have been specified with lattice alloy wheels from new. The car was enjoyed by our vendor’s father until his sad passing in 2006, whereupon it was registered in our vendor’s name on 17th June 2006. Presented to auction with a shade over 32,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, the toolkit is present whilst the detailed history file boasts the original order form, Bill of Sale, previous MOTs, receipts, tax discs and brochures. The Jaguar-embossed green wallet includes the service book, handbooks and radio code booklet. The advisory free MOT is valid until 16th October 2023 and the accompanying V5C confirms our vendor as the second registered keeper. Like all low slung cars, the XJS has inevitably collected a few stone chips along the way, as seen in the photographs, but these are not hard to rectify. The 'Big Cat' had became an endangered species by the mid-1990s and the XJS was the last convertible V12 offered by Jaguar. Keenly estimated, we can think of no other comparable car with this much history that offers a modern driving experience with coachwork penned in the early 1970s and a quintessentially British interior. For those entering the classic car market for the first time, this rare motorcar ticks virtually every box whilst also presenting the seasoned enthusiast with a luxurious and powerful alternative to an older British classic. 1993 Jaguar XJS 6.0 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1999 Aston Martin V8

'Austin sounds a little bit like Aston Martin, which is the type of car James Bond would drive' - Mike Myers The origins of the Aston Martin V8 series date back to 1969, when Aston Martin introduced the V8 as the successor to the DBS. It featured a powerful 5.3-liter V8 engine that produced 320 horsepower. Fast forward to 1999 with the Aston Martin V8 Coupe being its successor. The 1999 Aston Martin V8 Coupe built on the heritage of its predecessors and shouted "Step aside, boys, the king has arrived!" The interior of the V8 was not simply luxurious; it was handcrafted. The leather upholstery enveloped the seats like a warm embrace, while the wooden dashboard created an ambiance that even James Bond would secretly envy. Our own 1999 Aston Martin V8 is cloaked like a work of art in Grampian Green. A green/white leather interior and a wooden dashboard reminiscent of a craftsman who spent months in the back shed perfecting the smallest details. With only 45,000 kilometers on the odometer, this V8 is a rare find, a jewel that yearns for a new owner. Will you be the one to guide this British beauty through her luscious twenties? • 1976 Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Stradale

SUMMARY A rare and genuine 131 Abarth Rally Stradale in outstanding original condition throughout. DESCRIPTION Apart from the quirkiness possessed by all Italian cars, it wouldn’t be unkind to describe the standard Fiat 131 as just another unremarkable family saloon, however, Fiat’s decision in 1975 to contest the Group 4 Rally Championship using the 131 and invite input from Abarth and Bertone was a game-changer. The company’s involvement in International Rallying brought untold publicity and success in the form of the 1977, 1978 and 1980 FIA World Rally Constructor’s titles, as well as the World Rally Drivers Championships in 1978 and 1980. Much to the delight of enthusiasts, it also brought 400 “Stradale” road-going versions, built to satisfy FIA Group 4 homologation requirements, on to the market. The alterations required to turn a bland saloon into an all-surface competition machine were significant and began with the chassis itself. Abarth engineers removed the rigid rear axle and replaced it with a fully independent MacPherson strut setup. They also developed a 2.0-litre twin-cam, in-line four-cylinder engine with a lightweight alloy 16-valve head, which sent power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine in the Stradale version breathed through a Weber double-barrel carburettor and produced a claimed 140bhp (single Weber 34ADF carburettor). Meanwhile, Bertone developed special bodywork, fitting a fibreglass bonnet and aluminium doors to reduce weight and adding wheel arches to accommodate larger 15-inch Cromodoras and tires, air intakes for cooling, and spoilers for additional downforce. The results were spectacular, a cohesive design that turned the two-door shopping car into a veritable seventies road-rocket. The car on offer here is indeed one of those 400 Fiat 131 ‘Homologation Specials’ and remains in outstanding original condition throughout. It was purchased by our vendor some years ago and has formed part of his private Collection ever since with minimal use during his ownership. Apparently it was found in Italy in 2005 showing a recorded mileage at that time of circa 11,000km and was secured through a French contact. At the time of delivery it was noted that, mechanically the engine was in need of a little care and attention, probably due to the intake and lack of air filters and so the decision was taken, for peace of mind, to undertake a complete rebuild to ensure that everything was as it should be. The rebuild was completed using all the correct parts including genuine Abarth pistons, however, the twin IDF Webers, that we understand were fitted from new as a factory option, were retained. Despite having had little use in recent years, we are told the little Fiat is superb mechanically and the whole car presents with an intoxicating air of originality throughout. This is a rare, genuine 131 Abarth that remains unmolested, recently serviced, including a replacement cam belt, and is ready to be enjoyed once again as intended, either out on the open road or forming part of any serious Fiat collection. 1976 Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Stradale Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1961 Porsche 356 BT5

This 1961 356 B is a cabriolet with a T5 body. Finished in bright red, it has been under the care of a single owner since 1997 and is the perfect 356 for the owner looking to buy a car to drive and enjoy. During the 356 B series, Porsche didn’t produce a Speedster, but this car—known as a BT5 Cabriolet—is, in many ways, the spiritual successor to that series of sought-after drop-tops. Although this car has clearly been refurbished over the years, it doesn’t seem ever to have been fully restored and retains its numbers matching body panels and drivetrain. The black fabric soft top is in decent condition and folds away easily behind the front seats. As a BT5, this car only has one rear grille over the engine bay, and sitting below it are a pair of gold badges stating that this car is fitted with the legendary 1,600 cc flat-4 engine. The interior of the car is finished in a combination of tan and black, with tan vinyl covering the seats and door cards. From the factory, this car would have come with a dashboard painted to match the body color, but at some point, it was changed to satin black on this car. Although the Porsche purists may not be quite so enthusiastic about this change, in truth it helps cut down on glare when driving with the top down and is a nice addition that was later adopted by most cars. The original large plastic steering wheel has been swapped out for a smaller wood and metal Moto-Lita 3-spoke wheel, which feels great in the hands and makes ingress and egress far easier. An era-appropriate Blaupunkt radio sits just above the shifter, and is a refreshing sight to see since many cars from this era have been saddled with far less attractive modern head units in recent years. Sitting out back is the 1,600cc air-cooled flat 4, which is rated from the factory for 60 horsepower. Although this doesn’t sound like much in modern times, the 356 B Cabriolet reportedly weighs just under 900 kg, which means that 60 horsepower is plenty to have a good time. This engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox, which adds to the engaging driving experience. One of the things that keeps interest in the 356 high after all these years is that for a car as old as they are, the driving experience is actually quite modern feeling. Whereas many sports cars from the 1950s have unpleasantly heavy controls and ponderous handling, the 356 feels light and nimble, and the inputs are all excellently weighted. With summer approaching, it is hard to imagine a car better suited to top-down motoring than this 356 BT5 Cabriolet. With its fantastic driver-quality condition throughout, you won’t have to worry about your freshly restored showpiece being damaged and instead, you can focus on what the car is truly built for- enjoying the open road. 1961 Porsche 356 BT5 ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright This 1961 356 B is a cabriolet with a T5 body. • 1967-jaguar-e-type-series-2

The Series 1 E-type 2+2 combines the unmistakable style of Jaguar’s landmark design with the extra practicality of two rear seats, and is a beautifully versatile choice of 1960s sports car. Chassis number 1E 77896 was built on 12 January 1968, as one of the cars that are now unofficially and retrospectively known as the ‘Series 1½’. This means that it retains the overall design of the Series 1 but features some of the upgrades that would also be found on the Series 2, such as the open headlamps and rocker switches on the dashboard rather the earlier toggle switches. It was finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with Dark Blue interior, and was dispatched to Jaguar Cars New York on 22 January. The first owner is recorded as being Peter Satori Leasing, and documents in the car’s history file show that, by 1980, it was owned by Marcia Jacklich in Laguna Beach, California. It was still in California in 2012, and the following year it was imported back to the UK as a project car in need of a full restoration. The new owner then set about returning the E-type to the road, a painstaking process that included converting it to right-hand drive, fitting new floors, plus a new engine frame, wiring harness and fuel tank. The 4.2-litre straight-six engine was fully rebuilt and an uprated alternator was added. Koni dampers have been fitted as part of a complete suspension rebuild, and the braking system benefits from powerful Fosseway four-pot calipers plus vented discs on the front. A Borg Warner T5 five-speed gearbox has been installed and greatly improves the E-type’s cruising ability, and new chromed wire wheels were fitted. The interior has been retrimmed using English leather and Wilton carpets, and features a modern DAB stereo system. Having been resprayed red, this superbly restored and intelligently upgraded E-type 2+2 finally returned to the road in 2019, and is now being offered for sale complete with a Heritage Certificate and a photographic record of its rebuild. 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi Berlinetta Boxer

The Boxer line represented a remarkable departure for Ferrari. Those who witnessed the debut of Lamborghini’s stunning Miura in 1966 had been anxiously awaiting Ferrari’s response, and the front-engined Daytona, while extremely high performance, could not match the visual or experiential impact of the Miura and later the Countach. The Boxer was Ferrari’s first mid-engined twelve-cylinder road car and was powered by a horizontally-opposed longitudinally-mounted engine sitting atop the transaxle. Clothed in suitably rakish bodywork by Pininfarina, the Boxer was a stunner. The 512 BBi represents the ultimate development of the Boxer line and was distinguished from the 512 BB and 365 models that preceded it by the introduction of fuel injection. Today, the Boxer remains a dramatic and exciting car that offers a tremendous, visceral experience, especially compared to the much more subdued Testarossa which replaced it. This particular example is a beautifully-preserved five-owner car that was imported to the United States new. Its original owner purchased the car through Algar Ferrari and picked it up from the factory in December of 1983, and drove the car around in Europe before importing it. As the 512 was never officially imported to the United States, it was federalized by Amerispec, with the EPA release completed in April of 1984. Federalized as a 49-state car, this 512BBi did not receive California BAR certification during this process. Though the car was officially federalized, it escaped the unsightly additions of side reflectors and impact bumpers that saddled so many gray market cars at the time. The car comes with its original invoice from the factory, which notes that this example was finished in red, but without black Boxer trim, over a black leather interior. There are also photographs of the car at the factory when it was delivered new in December 1983. The first owner kept the car until August of 1989 when its second owner acquired it. He owned the car until December 2005, when its third owner purchased it with 15,539 kilometers. The car has regularly received major services (including belts) in February 2005, May 2007, October 2015, and August 2021. The most recent service also included 12 new injectors, rebuilt CIS fuel distributors and warmup regulators, and new fuel pumps, which, along with the major service, totaled more than $26,500. Overall, this 512BBi presents as a well-preserved unrestored car that is not without flaws but still shows nicely throughout. The body panels are straight, fit, and operate well, while the paint appears to be largely original, with a few small marks that have been touched up over the years. The wheels are in very good shape, as are the spinners, and the tires are correct Michelin TRXs in a unique 240/55 VR415 size. Exterior trim is very nice throughout, as are the lights and glazing. The car has correct Cibié flat front headlamps and Cibié “airport” fog lamps. The overall impression of the car is of an honest, well-cared for low, mileage car that is aging gracefully. The interior also appears to be substantially original, the seats have a nice, even patina with light wear on the driver’s seat back piping, and the various leather-trimmed items, such as the headliner and center console, are all in very good condition. The dashboard benefits from a recent re-covering in original specification black leather and was completed to a very high level, but does not look out of place with the original leather elsewhere in the cabin. The original Ferrari-branded Pioneer head unit, speakers, and equalizer are still in place, and the carpet remains in good condition. The front compartment is also in very nice shape, with the spare cover present, as is the strap for the tool roll, which is affixed, complete, and in excellent shape. The inner fenders are in very nice original condition and show no signs of damage. Under the rear bonnet, the engine compartment is also very clean, in keeping with a well-cared-for largely unrestored car, but does benefit from refinished intake runners and manifolds, and the foam on the underside of the engine lid has also been replaced. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a superb late-production example of one of Ferrari’s most important models. It is worth noting that BBi is noticeably faster than the Testarossa that replaced it, in addition to being arguably better looking and rarer. One thing that’s for sure is that the driving experience is wildly different from a Testarossa. While the Testarossa is civilized and nearly easy to drive, being most in its element as a comfortable long-distance tourer, the Boxer has an intense and hard edge that makes it much closer to the beastly character of a Countach or Miura. As a flagship Ferrari, it stands alone in that respect, and it demands a level of finesse from the driver that gives it a lot of appeal for the experienced driver. This particular car has had just four owners, known history from new, and was federalized in an unobtrusive manner. Furthermore, it is very complete, beautifully preserved, well-documented, and has been fastidiously maintained, making this the ideal Boxer to get in and enjoy one of the greatest mid-engine 12-cylinder Ferrari driving experiences. 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi Berlinetta Boxer ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE 1

Launched at the Paris Auto Salon in 1960, the 250 GTE was the first production Ferrari 2+2. Borrowing its lengthy 2,600 mm chassis from that of the 250 GT PF Coupe and Cabriolet, there was enough room for two rear seats and a good-sized boot. The V12 moved 20cm closer to the nose of the car meant the car appealed to those looking for a grand tourer. The track was widened, improving both cabin space and roadholding abilities. This recipe proved to be good enough for both Il Commendatore and Squadra Mobile; the Milan Flying Squad that ordered two cars new. With a prototype starring as the official course car at the 1960 Le Mans 24 hr, the GTE was officially launched four months later at the Paris Motor Show in October. Still effortlessly fast, capable and practical, the Pininfarina clothed GTE was elegant and ideally suited to the more discerning Ferrari customer. 954 250 GTEs were built between 1960 and 1963 over three series, but just 46 were UK supplied RHD variants. Sadly, owing to their mechanical similarities, many RHD GTEs have been lost forever being used as donor cars for their running gear and identities for replicas of other extremely valuable Ferraris of the era such as California Spiders, 250 SWBs, 250 GTOs and 250 TRs. Today it is thought fewer than 25 UK supplied examples remain as GTEs. This example was supplied new on 3rd January 1962 as the 219th of 300 Series 1 examples built. Completed in Grigio Scuro over Beige Connolly hide, this example was supplied new to Ferrari’s Turin agent, Signor Fontanella. The car would pass to its second keeper in July of 1962, moving to Milan in the process. Its third keeper, the Devoto family of Cagliari in Sardinia purchased the car in May 1964. The car would remain in Sardinia passing down through the family and then onwards to the Dosso family in 1968. Mrs Dosso would use the car regularly and keep the GTE for a considerable 15 years. In 2001, following a restoration by former Ferrari employees, the 250 GTE would move to its new home in the Czech Republic. This example would be carefully looked after and presented at numerous shows within the region, including the Chateau Loucen Concours d’Elegance and later, finding residence at the capital’s Technical Museum in Prague- an exhibition supported by a 125S and F1 2001 from Ferrari’s Museum collection. Owned at the time by official dealership Scuderia Praha, the car was cared for in house. Following on from display in the Technical Museum, permission was granted for export and the car sold to the current owner, a London resident who has cared for the car since 2013. Shortly after arrival in the UK, the 250 GTE received a recommissioning service by marque specialists, Fosker’s Ferrari. A keen member of the GTE club of Great Britain, the car has been extensively shown at a multitude of concours events since. Testament to the care of the current owner, this GTE was awarded Ferrari Owners Club Certificate of Achievement in 2017 at Danesfield House, followed by the Salon Privé Car Club Secretary’s award at Blenheim Palace in 2020. An eminently usable example of Ferrari’s venerable Colombo-V12 powered GT Car, this 250 GTE today presents superbly. Unusually, this example is accompanied by Ferrari’s red book Classiche Certification awarded in 2016 and today the car presents in fine order. Extensively serviced by marque experts throughout the current 13-year ownership, this GTE is further accompanied by a thorough history folio and Massini Report. Thoroughly inspected by DK’s workshops prior to listing, this example will pass through our workshops once more as a part of the sale. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE D.K. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Launched at the Paris Auto Salon in 1960, the 250 GTE was the first production Ferrari 2+2. Other Cars from D.K. • 1977 Jaguar XJC

Where the E-type stood for pace, the XK for grace, the XJ stood for space. A wonderfully spacious tourer packed with class, the Jaguar flagship where they loved to show off all their gadgets and new gizmos. The fastest four-seater in the world when the car first rolled off the assembly line. The car was rarely delivered as a coupe anyway, which now makes this a real collector’s item. Anyway, enough about investment and performance, let’s talk about what lasting impression this car leaves behind. After all, a Jaguar driver also knows that you have to drive this car with respect. That means spinning the sports hangover of yesteryear quietly, not roaring. It is sometimes said in the car world, the car looks like its owner. However, this tomcat also knows how to take the owner with her grandeur. Indeed, when you get in, you immediately get the feeling that you know about opera, wine, politics and poetry. Ours? Dutch delivered! A 6-cylinder which in terms of consumption and weight ratio feels a little more favorable than the 12-cylinder and can still insert well. The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupé offered here was delivered in December 1984 by AMAG Bern, in the color Indian red and black leather interior, with various individual equipment such as forged alloy wheels, rear window wiper and with front and rear spoiler, to the first owner and National Councillor, Dr. Richard Müller. This is an early 3.2, without catalytic converter and therefore with full power and 231 hp. The car was in the last owner for 20 years and was always looked after and professionally maintained. The gearbox was overhauled and the clutch replaced around 12,000 km ago. The on-board folder with all original documents such as the operating and user manuals, the complete and cleanly kept service booklet and exhaust maintenance document are available. This beautiful Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupé is matching numbers, has a certificate from Porsche and is, veteran-tested, in top-maintained and very original collector’s condition. The Porsche 911, also known as the nine-eleven for short, is the Stuttgart-based company’s best-known sports car and is regarded as the epitome of the brand. Body variants include the Coupé, the Cabriolet and the Targa. In the past, the Porsche 911 was successfully used as a racing car in the Sports Car World Championship and the German Racing Championship. The engine with the 3.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine gives the 911 a strong pull at low revs and spoils with a unique sound and liveliness from 4,000 rpm. 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The powerful 5.3 liter XJ 12 C with a vinyl roof was manufactured between September 1975 and November 1977. With around 287 hp, the Jaguar reached a top speed of around 240 km/h and was nicknamed the “fastest vinyl roof in the world”. • 1971 Maserati Indy 4700

The fastest production four-seater sports car of its time, this is a razor-sharp, fully restored example that's absolutely on the button. Named to commemorate Maserati's two victories at the Indianapolis 500, the Maserati Indy (Tipo 116) first appeared in 1968, at the Salone dell'Automobile di Torino as a prototype by Carrozzeria Vignale. The production model was launched by Maserati at the Geneva Motor Show the following March as a comfortable four-seat Grand Tourer with good luggage space and a top speed in excess of 150mph. For the 1970-72 model years, the Indy was offered with a 4.7-litre, 290bhp, V8 engine, fitted with power steering and air conditioning as standard, with the intention of capturing the US market these later cars were billed as the "America". Maserati was a low-volume manufacturer and Indys were only made to order and of the 1,136 cars being built in all forms, only 364 benefitted from the 4.7-litre V8. Documents within the substantial history file indicate that this example was supplied new in Milan before being exported to the Middle East and subsequently returning to Europe in the mid-70s. It's classically finished in Rosso Fuoco with a superbly presented, light tan leather interior. In the early nineties, it was subject to a ground-up restoration in Denmark by Skallebolle, a specialist in Italian cars from this era, with photographic, stage by stage, evidence in the history file. A substantial 800 hours of work is documented with the bodywork taken back to bare metal and all mechanical aspects of the car carefully rebuilt or replaced. The odometer is now indicating 15,207km which is understood to be the total mileage covered since the restoration. Today, the paintwork and interior stand up to the test of time very well indeed and the Indy starts instantly on-the-button and sounds very healthy. Accompanying the car is a fitted luggage set, two large history files with various documents and invoices, a workshop manual, current V5C (UK registration paperwork) ready for export or transfer and all import/export paperwork. Recent maintenance includes a check over and engine tune up by a well-regarded UK-based, Italian sports car specialist in February of this year. With good performance, even by today’s standards, razor sharp looks and very limited production numbers, the Indy has a strong enthusiastic following. This example has been featured in numerous magazine articles due to the quality of its restoration and would make a great addition to any collection of landmark sports cars, or perhaps a super classic GT that will continue to turn heads on driving tours throughout Europe. 1971 Maserati Indy 4700 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
