  • 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT

A superbly engineered, lightweight Giulia race car, professionally built utilising the best componentry; effectively brand new with a spare engine and spares package, ready to race! Released in September 1963 at Alfa's newly opened Arese plant, later displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the same month, the Giulia Sprint GT was the first Giulia sport model in the Tipo 105 line-up. The styling was entrusted to the, then, 22-year-old Giorgetto Giugiaro, but with two Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Special Bertone’s and Alfa Romeo’s 2000 and 2600 Sprints already behind him, it’s easy to see that the car's looks were in capable hands and the 105 is regarded as one of his finest commercial efforts. The balance of glass and metal, the influence of the front and rear screens on the shape of the cabin, and the flat grille with incorporated headlamps were all considered ground-breaking styling features of the era. Nicknamed the Scalino or ‘Stepfront’ due to the bonnet sitting 1cm above the nose of the car to allow for improved cooling, the Sprint GT had a number of distinguishing features and upgrades over the standard GT. Externally, in addition to the chrome badging, there was an Alfa Romeo logo on the front grille, rectangular ‘Disegno di Bertone’ badges on the front wheel arches and a flat, chrome grille with rectangular mesh in place of the additional chrome bars giving a more sleek and aggressive look, especially when combined with the single-piece chrome bumpers with no over-riders. The Giulia Sprint GT was fitted with the 1570cc version of Alfa Romeo's venerable all-aluminium, twin-cam inline-four engine and were produced from 1963 to 1965, when the model was superseded by the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce. In total, 21,902 Giulia Sprint GTs found homes but only 2,274 of these were finished in right-hand drive. The car presented here is a right-hand-drive, UK-market car purchased by our vendor through well-known racer and race organiser, Julius Thurgood, as a complete rust-free shell together with component parts. Our vendor’s intention was to oversee / manage the build of a race car to conform to FIA/HTP Period G to 1969 for his wife to campaign, so no expense was spared (as a couple they have over 25 years of racing experience and have now decided to enjoy other pursuits), however, in the interests of more sensible running costs and versatility, the decision was made to prepare the car to a specification that would offer HRDC and HSCC Road Sports eligibility. The shell preparation was expertly carried out by Steve Lancaster (including a Custom Cages installation and paintwork by Chris Peart). The bodywork is all-steel (apart from an aluminium boot lid) and is essentially standard apart from strengthening in key areas and being seam-welded; the car weighs just 802.5kg (wet with 15 litres of fuel) - getting close to a GTA level of lightness! Recently finished to the highest of standards and painted in classic GTA livery style, it's now an immaculately presented and prepared race car, with all components being knowledgably selected and integrated. It's been 'shaken-down' with a successful run-out at Thruxton where it performed extremely well and is now ready to go racing. Specification: Engine Initially fitted with the traditional 1600cc unit but then a full race-spec 2000cc became available, which is now installed. This engine has been fully rebuilt by Dave Ashford of Brunswick Motorsport and is documented at 192.4bhp at 7,350rpm. 48 DCOE Carbs, 123 USB ignition. Internals bespoke to Dave Ashford. Exhaust is side-outlet SS by Zak Precision. Gearbox Rebuild 5-speed with Tilton clutch. Differential ‘Alfaholics’ race diff with LSD. 5.3 Crown Wheel & Pinion. Half Shafts rifle-drilled, 25 spline. Prop-shaft - race balanced, full length. Brakes Dunlop front new, rear rebuilt with Mintex F6 pads. All brake lines and fluid transfer are ATEC. Being the only original RS3100-spec Group 2 racer ever to race in black is special. But there’s a lot more to this car. Chassis BFC 002 started life as a works Ford RS2600 Group 2, built by Broadspeed to ‘73 Cologne spec for Ford Motor Co. It was immediately on the continent as a works Ford of Belgium entry in BP colours winning the ‘73 Belgian Group 2 championship (over 1300cc) with Claude Bourgoignie. It won, or was on the podium in every race that season apart from two DNF’s at Zolder and Nivelles 24hr (on pole for both). At the end of the season Ford entered the car into the ETCC Silverstone TT for Andy Rouse, only to be black flagged for a flapping body panel. So in its first season it took five podiums, two wins and the over 1300cc Group 2 championship. For 1974 the car went to Swedish racing legend Bosse Emanuelsson, aka Bo Emma. As a factory supported STP Ford entry into the Swedish Touring Car Championship, it was again on the podium in every race entered. And winning too. Over the winter of 1975, the car was sent from Sweden to Ford’s factory in Cologne, where it was upgraded to full RS3100 spec, as per the other works ETCC cars of Mass, Stommelen, Hezemans, Glemser and Lauda. These upgrades included the howling 475bhp 24-valve GAA Cosworth V6, fuel injection system, gearbox, suspension, brakes, aero, bodywork, wheels, tyres, radiators, and a lot more. The car remained uniquely right-hand-drive, unlike all other RS3100 works cars. Shipped back to Bo Emma and painted jet black, it was back to winning ways in 1975 and ran at the front in the German Grand Prix Supporting International DRM race on the Nordschleife (pictured here with the Alpina BMW and Zakspeed Escort). 1973/75 Ford Capri RS3100 Group 2 Duncan Hamilton Rofgo Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1973 Porsche 911

They’ve outlasted hippies, disco and yuppies. Is it any wonder they hold their value so well? In 1964, the Porsche ‘901’ was born in Stuttgart. After Armand Peugeot and Ferdinand Porsche had fought over the 0 in the middle, Ferdinand decided to take his chances. Something with the motto; Choose your battles. The ‘911’ was an immediate hit; nowadays Porsche is equivalent to the 911. In 1972 the ‘Ur-911’er was slightly modified, before becoming the G-model. This adaptation proved perfect on paper. After the battery was split in two in the nose for weight distribution, the fluids distribution could not be left behind. An oil system was chosen that could be refilled with an ‘oil valve’ at the rear. In the old days, everything was better, petrol stations were manned and they even filled up for you! You guessed it; most ’72’ers ran on mixed fuel… Therefore, in ’73, the decision was immediately reversed and the last generation of ‘normal’ F models were born, of which this is one. Our ’73 is, as you might expect, far from standard. She was born and delivered in Germany as an original 2.4 T, which in 2019, by her current owner, was completely renamed to ST. Before Ferdinand turns over in his grave; she is still matching numbers and equipped with a door turret! The engine has been bored to a 2500 and all Porsche 911 ‘S’T parts used are original. No tupperware tuning, Uncle Fer! Furthermore, she is fully prepared for classic rallies and ready for many years of fun, sideways, that is. Bis bald! • 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900 CS Pinin Farina Berlinetta

Launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1950, the Alfa Romeo 1900 was a significant advance for the growing company. The 1900 was the first Alfa Romeo designed and built for production assembly and the first Alfa Romeo available in left-hand drive. Offered in four-door Berlina and two-door Sprint variants, the 1900 was initially powered by a 1,884cc, 4-cylinder twin cam engine producing a capable 90 horsepower. Racing victories in the Targa Florio and Stella Alpina rallies lead to Alfa Romeo marketing and promoting the 1900 as “the family car that wins races”. In 1951, Alfa Romeo released the shorter 2.5-meter wheelbase 1900C, followed quickly by a more powerful engine option, the 1900 “Sprint”. The Sprint was equipped with a bored-out 1,900cc engine producing 100 horsepower. Approximately 100 of the performance-oriented, short-wheelbase 1900s were delivered with the more powerful Sprint engines to famed Italian coachbuilder Pinin Farina. Pinin Farina designed the very elegant coupe body known as the 1900 “Corto” Sprint. The unique platform design and performance engine enticed other notable coachbuilders including Touring, Zagato, and Bertone, however the Pinin Farina design, with its pure lines and ideal proportions, delivers a handsome and balanced profile ideally paired with state-of-the-art twin-cam performance. Under former ownership, the prior owner purchased this 1900 CS from an esteemed Northern California collector to accompany multiple highly prized vehicles in his personal collection. Having enlisted expert Raffi Najjarian of The Pit Stop, a great deal of work was performed on the car’s mechanical components including an engine rebuild beyond CSS specifications. This rebuild included the installation of a CSS crankshaft, larger pistons, dual Weber 44 DCO carburetors feeding into an Abarth intake manifold, and new exhaust. Additional work included the installation of an oil cooler, electric fuel pump, new fuel tank, and a supplementary electric cooling fan, all of which further required upgrading the electrical system with new wiring. Substantial time was further spent improving the car’s driving dynamics. Inclusive of the suspension rebuild, all new Alfin drum brakes were installed, while the front A-arms were updated with 2500 series units and a rebuilt steering box. The original column mounted four-speed transmission was replaced with a floor mounted five-speed gearbox and a new clutch. As the mechanical work was completed, the engine bay was detailed and carefully finished using as many authentic components as possible. In 2018, the car was offered for sale by Fantasy Junction. A few years later, the owner passed away and the car was auctioned by Bonhams in 2020, at which time, the current and consigning owner purchased the car. Under current ownership, this Alfa Romeo has benefited from new leather seat reupholstery, new carpet, a valve job for the twin cam head, general mechanical freshening, and excellent paint correction to high driver level. As an added performance feature, this 1900 is outfitted with exhaust cutouts which can be engaged manually from behind the driver’s seat. These levers bypass the mufflers delivering a more vigorous exhaust note. Today this handsome Pinin Farina 1900 CS presents with a quality high gloss vivid red finish ideal for events and tours. Panel fit is generally good, in keeping with period construction. The doors open and shut easily, while the lightweight alloy hood and trunk raise and lower without issue. A few superficial stone chips are visible in the front facing areas, though none affect the overall high driver level presentation. The windshield and side glass, many of which bear the original glass Securit brand marks, present nicely including the unique sweeping wrap around rear window. The grille and eyebrow openings were re-chromed during the refresh, still offering excellent reflections and smooth finish. The rear bumpers and chrome trunk handle are also very nicely presented. The absence of further garnish molding and chrome trim is a welcome relief from often overdone cars of this period. In keeping with the performance theme, the car is finished with beautiful Borrani wire wheels. Under prior ownership, all four wheels and the matching spare wheel were rebuilt and powder-coated in silver finish. The wheels are finished with correct chrome plated dual ear knock-offs with correctly sized 2019 date-coded Michelin tires. The interior reflects the performance lineage of these exceptional cars with a focus on spirited driving. The seat supports were refinished under current ownership along with new carpet. The newly reupholstered leather covered rally-style Zagato seats complete the performance picture, giving excellent lateral support, particularly when compared to the original style bench seats. The cloth headliner and sun visors are clean and taut, while the rear parcel shelf and leather straps offer a nice finishing touch to the interior. The upgraded 5-speed manual gearbox is very well positioned, wrapped in a leather boot, and topped with a polished alloy shift knob. The dashboard features correct instrumentation with clean lenses, crisp numbers, and handsome lettering. A safety kill switch is located under the left side of the dash. The interior is handsomely finished overall with a period correct flat Nardi wooden steering wheel, accented by the Alfa Romeo center insignia. The trunk is nicely finished in satin black with a proper textured floor mat, and a distinctive optional touch – a handheld Marchal spotlight, convenient for rally road repairs, particularly effective in evening or sunset events. The engine compartment has been nicely maintained since the rebuild and recent valve job. Correct finishes, authentic parts, proper lines and materials, and uniform finishes now display slight patina resulting from modest use. During the rebuild, the engine was upgraded with twin 44DCO (No. 13 and 15) Weber carburetors and an Abarth intake manifold. A FISPA air cleaner was installed along with the Weber carburetors. The undercarriage presents with no evidence of structural compromise and while not detailed for show, all components are clean, dry, and tidy. Of note, the upgraded 2500 series front suspension and shock absorbers add to the handling and performance of this car. The car starts with ease and warms to a nice throaty idle. Driving manners are quite good under general road use, but greatly enhanced with the 5-speed gearbox, improved front suspension, and power upgrades to the engine. The engine operates with good oil pressure and proper running temperatures. The brakes operate confidently with good pedal pressure and the steering is generally good but has slight play at top dead center. The driving experience in this Alfa Romeo 1900 benefits from the upgraded floor mounted 5-speed with ratios ideally spaced for road or highway use. Accompanying the car is a set of tools wrapped in a period correct cloth roll, a restored jack, a Marchal spotlight, and a matching spare wire wheel. This is a great opportunity to acquire an event eligible rare Pinin Farina bodied Alfa Romeo combining professionally refined mechanical improvements and delightful visual presentation, enhanced by thoughtful performance upgrades. For those who admire hand-built coachwork, state of the art engineering, and exciting driving, this Alfa Romeo 1900 CS is sure to deliver ongoing rewards uniquely delivered in vintage automobile ownership experiences. 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900 CS Berlinetta Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1981 BMW 635 Group 2

At the end of the 1970s, BMW occupied a virgin territory between sportiness and luxury, notably thanks to the development of a range of high performance models entrusted to its competition department. Formerly named BMW Motorsport, its activities began effectively on the circuits but with the know-how and the reputation acquired, the M department was quickly tempted to develop true models of exception derived from BMWs approved for the road. Thus was born the BMW E24, successor to the E9, an elegant and luxurious 4-seater coupé, the first model in the BMW 6 series. Production began in October 1975 and the car was launched in March 1976. Known and appreciated for its supple and melodious engines, BMW's large bourgeois coupé nevertheless suffered from an excess weight which penalised its performance. Performance was often judged to be below what its sleek and elegant appearance would have suggested. Initially presented in a 3L version, the first evolution of power arrived in 1978 with the 635 CSi model. The CSi's noble inline six-cylinder engine delivers a haunting sound from idle that never tires. The 635 CSI coupé also has an ideal weight distribution (53.6% front and 46.4% rear), which is dear to the Bavarian brand, to guarantee a very balanced driving experience. Balance, robustness... Strong of these qualities, it is not surprising that BMW very quickly wished to align with success this new BMW 635 on the European circuits and in the principal races of endurance as well as Gr.A that in its rare versions Gr.2 Even if the 635CSi had a 105-horsepower deficit compared to the Jaguar V12, it kept the weight advantage, 222kg less than the Jaguar V12... All these assets gave it a greater reliability, greater capacities to turn, while consuming less and saving on the brakes and thus the tyres. All these assets were perfect to counter the Jaguars and especially for the long rounds of the ETCC like the 24 hours of Spa. Entered and prepared by renowned teams: Schnitzer, Eggenberger, BMW Italia, the 635 CSi was also driven by the most talented drivers of the time: Dieter Quester, Helmut Kelleners.... Despite the lack of power compared to its rivals, the 6 Series' great tenacity, rock-solid reliability and fine handling enabled it to conquer virtually every round of the inaugural Group A season on every continent! With dozens of race victories and 12 major national and international titles, the BMW 635 CSi is one of the most successful touring cars of all time. While almost 100 cars (86) were produced in GR.A only a handful of 635s were produced in the Gr.2 version It was this rare configuration that was chosen by the owner of our car when he started work on building a real racing car. Based on a genuine 635 road car, the car was entrusted to the renowned workshop Atlantic Racing, known for its skills in prototypes but also with a solid reputation in BMW engines. The workshop then undertook a titanic task to build a rare Gr.2 version perfectly in line with the period specifications. M30B34 dry sump engine 340hp. Getrag Sport gearbox. Specific hub holders and triangles. Welded body. Matter roll bar... Our BMW made its first run in 2018 in Barcelona in the HTC series of Peter Auto. It then made numerous appearances in HTC races, notably at Spa and Le Castelet, where it proved to be reliable and increasingly fast. With its FIA Historic Technical Passport, this car is ready to go back on track. 1981 BMW 635 Group 2 Historic Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1975 Lancia Fulvia 1.3 S3

The Car Barn are pleased to offer for sale this beautiful RHD Series 3 1.3S Lancia Fulvia Coupe. It has been fitted with the rare and sought after lightweight body panels, as well as genuine magnesium wheels. Having had a large amount of Bodywork, and Mechanical work done over the past few years, this the car comes with a box full of history, and also a photographic record of the recent re-spray completed on this car. About the Lancia Fulvia: The Lancia Fulvia was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 with production running all the way through to 1976. The Fulvia is notable for its role in motor racing history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. On testing it in 1967, Road and Track summed up the Fulvia as ‘a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force’. The Fulvia uses a longitudinal engine mounted in front of its transaxle. An independent suspension in front, used wishbones and a single leaf spring, while a solid axle with a panhard rod and leaf springs were used in the rear. Four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes were fitted to the first series Fulvia. With the introduction of the second series in 1970, the brakes were uprated with larger Girling calipers all round and a brake servo. Jonathon's Comments: 'It's a real pleasure to have a Fulvia for sale in the barn. The Fulvia is such a great little car to drive, a peppy engine that makes a great noise, combined with fun handling. On top of this it's a really pretty car, styled in a way only the Italians know how. This car has so much history, a box full of receipts and photos in fact, so if you have any specific questions or would like to come and have a look yourself, please just let us know' 1975 Lancia Fulvia 1.3 S3 Car Barn If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1999-ferrari-550-maranello-2

Firmly placed in Ferrari's history as one of their finest modern era big GTs, the 550 Maranello's combination of elegant lines and legendary front mounted 12-cylinder engine meant that these cars had the potential to become instant classics. Following in the footsteps and sharing the DNA of the 365 GTB/4 'Daytona', the 550 Maranello is inevitability compared to its forbear. However, few front-engined Ferraris have quite justified that comparison quite like the 550 Maranello. Styled by Pininfarina, like its illustrious predecessor, the 550 Maranello was similarly proportioned, adopting the classical combination of long bonnet, small cabin and truncated tail. Classic Ferrari styling cues include a bonnet air scoop and hot air outlets behind the front wheel-arches recalling the great 'Competizione' Ferraris of the past, whilst the rear incorporates Ferrari's characteristic twin circular lights. The heart of any Ferrari is its engine and the 550 Maranello's 48-valve, 5.5-litre V12 developed 485bhp at 7,000rpm. The power-train was housed in a tubular steel chassis, to which was attached aluminium coachwork, while the all-independent suspension incorporated dual-mode (normal/sports) damping, switch-selectable by the driver, which was complemented by speed-sensitive power-assisted steering. The 6-speed manual gearbox complements a slightly more even torque curve ensuring that the power delivery was a little less frenetic, whilst excellent weight distribution and delightful road manners make the 550 Maranello a truly refined driving machine, whilst still capable of almost 200mph. Offered from long-term ownership - some 19 years - this particular right-hand drive Ferrari 550 is one of just 69 such examples finished in Grigio Titanio with this particular 6-speed manual gearbox version having Bordeaux hide to the interior and optioned from the factory with the desirable Daytona seats and red brake callipers. It's accompanied by a correct and complete book pack and numerous invoices detailing works carried out over the years. Having formed part of a private Collection in recent years the Ferrari has been used sparingly and with that in mind, it is to be presented for a fresh MOT inspection prior to sale. It should also be noted that the Cherished Registration number currently assigned to the vehicle, M55 OSW will remain and does form part of the sale. A beautiful Grand Tourer that provides luxury motoring in true Ferrari terms and with classic styling that appears to improve with age, this particular 550 really is worthy of your early inspection. 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione Clienti – A Racing Icon Not all Ferrari 275 GTBs were created equal. Even in the 1960s, this stunning V12 berlinetta was available in numerous configurations, but few hold as much desirability today as the 1965 Competizione Clienti models, of which only 10 were ever built. In 1964, Ferrari's mid-engined 250 LM was denied GT homologation by the FIA, much to the frustration of Enzo Ferrari. This decision left the marque without a car to compete in the GT class, prompting Ferrari to refine its front-engined 275 GTB for racing purposes. Launched in late 1964, the 275 GTB was a state-of-the-art dual-purpose Gran Turismo featuring an independent suspension setup, a transaxle gearbox, and a potent 3.3-liter Colombo V12—offering both power and reliability. Recognizing its racing potential, Ferrari developed dedicated competition variants, with three distinct iterations emerging from Maranello. The first series saw three lightweight tubular-chassis cars fitted with six-carb dry-sump engines and aggressive aerodynamic tweaks. In 1965, Ferrari introduced the short-nosed Competizione Clienti series, specifically tailored for privateer racers. These '7000 series' cars featured six Weber 40 DCN3 carburetors, three distinctive rear air vents, and a right-hand sail panel fuel filler leading to a 140-liter endurance fuel tank. Designed to meet homologation requirements, the 275 GTB Competizione Clienti retained a balance between performance and practicality. While it may not have dominated the history books, it exemplified Ferrari's mastery of dual-purpose GT cars. By 1966, an evolved Competizione variant emerged, unlocking the full racing potential of the 275 GTB. However, as a blisteringly fast road-going classic, few cars can rival the timeless allure of the 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione Clienti. This car has significant history, it was one of the few that was raced, it retains its original matching numbers engine. It is one of the rarest variants of a 275 and is eligible for any concours and historic racing events. This is your rare opportunity to own one of the most significant 275's that can be driven on the street and driven on the track. It is loaded with documentation and receipts from some of its previous custodians whose names are some of the who's who in the collector car world. 1965 Ferrari 275 GT Motor Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1991-porsche-944-s2-1

Rare special model with a polarizing color combination, the last model year of the 944 produced in Zuffenhausen/Neckarsulm. The vehicle presented has been in the hands of an enthusiast for the last 22 years, where it was only driven as a summer vehicle and was verifiably looked after very meticulously. The complete service booklet and the invoices, receipts and documents provided with it are evidence of very conscientious handling. Unusual - and extremely praiseworthy - is the fact that this same previous owner stood by his 944 even at times when the general market was not paying any particular attention to his model and the prices of these vehicles were very low by Porsche standards. At this point, it is important to mention that we have been dealing with this topic very intensively since the early 1980s, which is in the nature of things. That's why we can tell you not only verbally, but also in black and white from the literature we have collected over decades - pretty much all series Porsches had to go through this valley of tears. If you wanted an original 911 in the 80s, you could get a long way with around DM 10,000... a 2.7 RS - now legendary - was also available for 12-15,000 DM, and the very successful Carrera 3.2 models were offered across all variants for between 15 and 60,000 DM, with the latter sum being asked for models like the 3.2 Speedster in mint condition. Remembering this every now and then helps even older people immensely to have the flexibility to bite themselves in the butt... Before we continue to indulge in nostalgia, back to our “rubystone” - the previous owner took loving care of his Porsche for decades, never had an accident with it and looked after it to the highest degree. You can see that today. The Porsche impresses with its fabulous overall condition with hardly any signs of wear, is in excellent accident-free condition and completely in its original paint except for the trunk lid, which had to be painted when a rod antenna was removed. 1991 Porsche 944 S2 DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra

Perhaps the best introduction to CSX 3195 is the recollection of David Freiburger, Editor-in-Chief of Hot Rod magazine, following a ride in the car at Laguna Seca in the summer of 2014… “I strapped into the passenger seat like a sausage in its casing, hardly prepared for the punishment I was about to take. Jim (Farley) throttled around a makeshift roadcourse at probably seven-tenths, and the other three might have killed me. The car shrieked, my helmeted head weighed 100 pounds in the corners, and I discovered that 3.75 pounds per horsepower can wrap my spleen around my spine…It’s low, fast, loud, windy, and brutal in a way that only a gearhead can crave…I’ll never forget it.” On its launch almost six decades ago, the 427 Cobra represented the pinnacle of performance. Whether on circuit or waiting at the lights, the Shelby simply blew away the competition, offering a breathtaking experience to those brave enough to drive the car to its limit. As experienced by David Freiburger, this example is doubly special, having been honed and perfected by a succession of gifted drivers and owners into what has been described as “the ultimate Cobra.” Completed in December of 1965, CSX 3195 was originally finished in black with a black interior. The car’s first owner was Gerard K. Baer of Pensacola, Florida, who purchased the car in May 1966 for a cash price of $7,000. Unfortunately, the car was hit on the driver’s side during a road accident in his first year of ownership, damaging the left door, rocker panel, and rear quarter panel. The car was subsequently sold to Dave Truhaft of Toledo, Ohio, who, over the course of 18 months, took on the task of repairing the car himself. Over the ensuing decade, the road car passed between a handful of owners in the Midwest. During this time, it was repainted white with a blue stripe and was fitted with later-style round taillights. In 1985, CSX 3195 was sold to Shreve McLaren “Mac” Archer of Carmel Valley, California. A pediatrician who pioneered research and treatment in shaken baby syndrome and traumatic brain and spinal injuries, Archer’s profession overlapped with his passion for vintage racing, leading to his advocacy for safer barriers at race tracks and his work designing improved automotive seating and back protection for motorcyclists. He obtained several patents for safety devices and was published in numerous medical journals; on track, he won the Autoweek Vintage Motor Racing challenge in 1993 in a Can-Am McLaren, showcasing his talent behind the wheel. Shortly after he acquired the car—which was then sporting a 1977 repaint in red—Archer tasked Entropy Racing in Monterey with rebuilding it as a vintage racer. It was duly finished with 7.5-inch and 9.5-inch Halibrand wheels at the front and back, respectively, as well as a hood scoop, side-exit exhausts, a race windscreen, and—crucially—a fully race-prepared 427 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Archer proved quite successful in vintage racing in California and across the West Coast. A list of events that accompanies the car details some ninety-one race meetings entered by Archer between 1985 and 2006, with numerous appearances at Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, and Sears Point, as well as the occasional outing at tracks further afield, including Watkins Glen and Road America. A photo exists of Carroll Shelby sitting in the car at a car show with Mac Archer, which is included in the history file. With so many appearances in California in particular, it is no wonder that CSX 3195 is remembered fondly by those lucky enough to see it at speed. In 2003, after two decades of racing, Archer commissioned a cosmetic refresh of the Cobra. Marque specialist, Bruce Terry, removed the paint to reveal years of unsatisfactory repair work from previous owners, rectifying all imperfections to a remarkable standard. Once the work was complete, the car returned to racing in the summer of 2004. Following Archer’s tragic passing in 2007 at the age of 58, the Cobra was retained by his family before being sold to John Linfesty of Santa Monica, California. Linfesty owned CSX 3195 for a short period of time, racing the car once at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and attended The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering in 2012, prior to trading it to Jim Farley, the current CEO of Ford Motor Company, in November of that same year. No stranger to fast Fords or, indeed, Shelbys, Farley was, at the time, employed by Ford Motor Company as Executive Vice President for Global Marketing, Sales & Service. In the hunt for a serious, race-prepared 427 Cobra, he swapped a 289 Cobra and another Shelby with Linfesty for CSX 3195. Farley had the car fully restored and repainted blue with white stripes, and it made several appearances at race meetings with him in his capacity at Ford. The car’s color scheme was inspired by Farley’s prior ownership of CSX 2513, one of the six USRRC Cobras built for 1964, which bore an identical livery. As was the case in Archer’s ownership, the car was looked after by Eric Bernhard of Entropy Racing, with an engine rebuild being carried out by Jack Roush, a good friend of Farley’s. Prior to the car’s repaint in its current livery under Farley’s ownership, the car was raced at Laguna Seca during the Monterey Pre-Historics and Historics in 2013. While at a Ford Racing press event in May of 2014, Farley gave David Freiburger the aforementioned ride in CSX 3195, resulting in an article titled “The Most Brutal Car I’ve Ever Been In.” A promotion to President of Ford of Europe, Middle East and Africa necessitated a move overseas for the Farley family in late 2014, which, in turn, led to the sale of CSX 3195 to the current owner. In an email written after his purchase, Farley said: “I intended to own the perfect Cobra and 3195 is it. I have put all my own expertise as well as the best of the best experts to perfect the ultimate Cobra.” The current owner acquired the car several years ago, upon the recommendation of both well-known Cobra authority Lynn Park and Cobra registrar Ned Scudder in searching for his ideal 427 Cobra. With him, the car has been shown at several local events, though has not raced since Farley’s stewardship. Several modifications were made to make the car more street-able, including fitting interior carpets, swapping its previous race seats for S/C-style bucket seats sourced from Shelby American (the car’s original seats are included in the sale), and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. Shown one year at the Shelby Family Car Show in Dallas, Texas, the current owner had the opportunity to meet Peter Brock and have him sign the car’s engine bay, adding his name alongside those of Jack Roush, Lynn Park, Eric Bernhard, Jim Farley Jr., and Aaron Shelby. With the current owner, the engine was recently rebuilt with compression tuned to 13.5:1 for street use. Dynoed on 93-octane gasoline, the engine now produces between 525-550 bhp at the rear wheels. The car’s history file contains numerous invoices from Entropy Racing throughout the 1990s and early 2000s while in the ownership of Mac Archer, a handful of invoices from John Linfesty’s ownership, its racing logbook from Archer’s ownership, and a selection of magazines and publications in which the car has been featured. A well-known car in the Californian vintage racing community that was later owned by the current President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company, CSX 3195 has a fascinating story to tell and offers all the performance and panache one expects from a 427 Cobra. All it needs now is a new owner looking to enjoy it on either road or track. 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1962 Aston Martin DB4

'Performance, controllability and comfort have been combined in the Aston Martin DB4 to make it a highly desirable car: one in which long journeys can be completed very quickly indeed with the minimum of risk or discomfort and the maximum of pleasure.' - The Motor. Manufactured between October 1958 and June 1963, the DB4 developed through no fewer than five series. The first series had already undergone a number of improvements, including the fitting of heavy-duty bumpers after the first 50 cars, before the second series arrived in January 1960. A front-hinged bonnet, bigger brake callipers, and an enlarged sump were the major changes made on the Series II, while the third series featured separate rear lights, two bonnet stays and a host of improvements to the interior fittings. The fourth series was readily distinguishable by its new grille, with seven vertical bars, shallower bonnet intake, and recessed rear lights, while the final (fifth) series manufactured between September 1962 and June 1963 was 3½" longer. Delivered via Brooklands of Bond street in January 1962, Chassis 844, a series 4 example was supplied new in Dubonnet with contrasting grey leather interior and red carpets. Still fitted with its original engine and the desirable overdrive gearbox 3500 MW has spent all of its life in the UK with a reassuring small amount of long-term owners over the years notably only two between 1973 and 2018! The extensive history file has MOT’s from the early 70’s and many invoices, some hand written describing simple services to more extensive work, including previous chassis and sill work, bare metal repaint and the reconnolising of the original leather. Very recently it has had a top end engine rebuild by a marque specialist and delivers a smooth and enjoyable experience. Ensconced in a delightfully patinated interior, all the fabled charms of the DB4 are apparent. Plenty of power, a useful overdrive for more relaxed touring, all wrapped up in Touring’s timelessly elegant coachwork. 1962 Aston Martin DB4 Will Stone Historic Cars Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
