The Alfa Romeo Spider (105/115 series) is a two-seater, front engine, rear drive roadster manufactured and marketed by Alfa Romeo from 1966 to 1994 in four distinct generations, or Series, each with modifications ranging from modest to extensive. As successor to the Giulia Spider, the Spider remained in production for almost three decades. The first three Series were assembled by Pininfarina in Grugliasco and the fourth Series in San Giorgio Canavese. The last Spider was manufactured in April 1993. In 1962 Alfa Romeo introduced the new 105 Series Giulia, which first complemented and then replaced the 101-series Giulietta. The sport variants of the Giulietta remained on sale for several more years, upgraded to the Giulia's 1.6-litre engine and rebadged Giulia, until analogous variants of the new models were ready. Thus the Giulietta-based Giulia Spider 1600 and Giulia Spider Veloce were produced from 1962 to 1965 and from 1963 to 1965 respectively. The Alfa Romeo Spider was based on Giulia mechanicals, including its Alfa Romeo twin cam inline-four, independent front and solid axle rear suspension. Following the evolution the other Giulia sport variants, the Spider was powered by a 1.6 L engine, later received a 1750 cc, then a 1300 cc, and finally a 2000 cc engine. Unlike any other Giulia derivative, it was upgraded and continued to sell through four decades, into the 1990s. As for its predecessor the Giulietta Spider, the Italian firm of Pininfarina was responsible for the design, manufacturing of the body, as well as final assembly. The 1600 Spider was the last project in which founder Battista Pininfarina was involved. The original 1966 Spider shape was the result of a number of Pininfarina design studies, concept cars showing traits incorporated in the final production design. The first one was the Alfa Romeo Superflow, a concept car built upon the chassis of a retired 6C 3000 CM racing car and first shown at the 1956 Turin Motor Show. Despite being an aerodynamic coupé with prominent fins on the rear, and a futuristic all-plexiglas greenhouse and front wings, the Superflow already showed the overall body shape of the future Spider and the scallops on the sides. In the following years the Superflow was updated three times into three more different concept cars.It did without the rear fins of the Superflow and Superflow II, showing for the first time the rounded cuttlebone-shaped tail and tail light configuration of the Spider. Last of the Spider's forerunner was the Giulietta Sprint Speciale-based Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS Spider Aerodinamica, which premiered at the 1961 Turin Motor Show. Series 1 (1966–1969) The Spider was launched at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in March 1966, and together with the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce tested by the press at an event organised in Gardone Riviera. To choose a name for the spider Alfa Romeo announced a write-in competition, offering an example of the new car as a prize. Over 100 thousand ballots were sent in, the great majority from Italy; the winner was Guidobaldo Trionfi from Brescia, who proposed the name "Duetto" (duet). However it could not be officially adopted due to trademark issues, and the car was named simply Alfa Romeo Spider 1600. The Spider's 1,570 cc twin cam engine had dual Weber two-barrel side-draft carburetors, and produced 109 PS DIN (80 kW; 108 hp; or 129 PS SAE). Sparsely fitted inside but including five speed manual transmission, disc brakes 15" wheels fitted with Pirelli Cinturato 155HR15 CA67 tyres. The price on launch in Italy was 2,195,000 lire. In the US the car sold for $3,950 (compared to $3,991 for a Lotus Elan and $2,607 for an MGB).In the UK the car's price was close to a Jaguar E-Type. Series 2 (1970–1982/83) In 1970 the first significant change to the exterior styling was introduced on the 1750 Spider Veloce, with the original's distinctive elongated round tail revised to a Kamm tail, improving luggage space. Numerous other small changes took place both inside and out, such as a slightly different grille, new door handles, a more raked windscreen, top-hinged pedals and improved interior trim. 1971 saw the Spider Veloce receive a new, larger powerplant—a 1962 cc, 132 hp (98 kW) unit—and consequently the name was changed from 1750 Spider Veloce to 2000 Spider Veloce. The 1600 Spider restarted production a year later as the Spider 1600 Junior, and was visually identical to the 1300. 4,557 of the 1300 Junior were made and 4,848 of the 1600 Junior. 16,320 Spider Veloce 2000 were made and 22,059 of the Spider Veloce 2000 Iniezione (US version). Of the 1750 Spider Veloce, 4,027 were made. 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 ARNAGE Classic Car Consulting If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1951 Ferrari 340 America Touring Barchetta
“The America is undoubtedly the fastest sports car ever placed on the world’s markets, giving a performance usually associated with near-Grand Prix vehicles. It is indeed a tribute to the enterprise of Enzo Ferrari, the genius of designer Lampredi, and the foresight of Luigi Chinetti.” That’s how Autosport gushingly summarised its road test of the ‘very fast’ Ferrari 340 America Barchetta Touring back in 1951. As its nomenclature suggests, the flagship Ferrari model was conceived for the then-untapped American market. Potentially hugely lucrative, the United States and its broad scope for business had been extolled to Enzo Ferrari by Luigi Chinetti, the Italo-American triple Le Mans winner. A shrewd businessman, Chinetti recognised the commercial appeal of Ferrari’s exquisite motor cars to America’s burgeoning motorsport scene. Il Commendatore listened, introducing the 340 America not only as a technological muscle flex, but also as a means of establishing whether Chinetti could walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. The 340 America was the first production Ferrari fitted with ingegnere Aurelio Lampredi’s 4.1-litre all-alloy long-stroke single-overhead-cam V12, the engine whose roots can be traced to the race-winning 375 Formula 1 monoposto. Well-heeled customers could opt for road- or competition-biased open or closed coachwork from Touring Superleggera, Vignale or Ghia. “The America is indeed a tribute to the enterprise of Enzo Ferrari, the genius of designer Lampredi, and the foresight of Luigi Chinetti.” Autosport Magazine It’s Touring’s Barchetta that, in our humble opinion, is the most beautiful – a masterpiece of simple and efficient style. Six 340 Americas were built as such, of which the car we’re privileged to be offering – chassis number 0118 A – was the third. Chassis no. 0118 A At almost 250lbs and standing well above six feet, William ‘Bill’ Spear by no means resembled the archetypal 1950s racing driver. But, contrary to his appearance, the wealthy Connecticut privateer was rather a dab hand behind the wheel. In fact, during his five-year foray into the world of international motorsport, Spears scored podium finishes in both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring, in addition to winning the 1953 SCCA National Sportscar Championship. Five thousand miles away in Modena, Il Commendatore did not care for the stature or weight of Mr. Spear. What he valued was a loyal customer and an excellent ambassador for his brand – especially in the burgeoning North American market. Spear acquired his first Ferrari, a 166 MM Touring Barchetta, from the triple Le Mans winner Luigi Chinetti in December of 1950. Chinetti had only just begun working as a North American agent for his old pal Enzo. And we imagine Enzo must have been thrilled when Spear promptly placed his order for his 340 America Barchetta Touring, the 4.1-litre V12-powered flagship Ferrari of the day. As its Ferrari factory build sheets confirm, chassis number 0118 A was completed on 20 May 1951 and underwent its factory test drive less than a month later. Connecticut might have been its final destination but, having been well and truly infected with the motorsport bug, Spear decided instead to travel to Europe and enter the most famous motor race of them all: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Because why not? Finished not in red, but rather in Spear’s striking signature blue and white livery, chassis number 0118 A – complete with additional front spotlights – was one of four new Ferrari 340 Americas entered. And expectations for the model, with its socking-great all-alloy 4.1-litre Lampredi V12, were very high indeed. Rumours were even swirling about a 150mph-plus top speed on Les Hunaudières. Partnered with the Belgian jazz trumpeter-turned-racing driver Johnny Claes, Spear demonstrated deft skill and mature race-craft on his maiden outing at La Sarthe. Alas, the blue number-17 Ferrari was smitten with clutch failure in the 16th hour – a trivial mechanical issue, of which many plagued the Prancing Horses in attendance. Shortly after Le Mans, chassis number 0118 A became the very first 340 America to make the trip across the Atlantic, where Spear continued to race it over the course of the next 18 months. And with considerable success. In addition to contesting the fiercely competitive SCCA National Sportscar Championship, this car was one of only three Ferraris to enter the inaugural 12 Hours of Sebring in 1952, a race which would soon establish itself as one of the United States’ ‘classic’ endurance motor races. Spear employed the American entrepreneur and sportsman Briggs Cunningham to partner him at Sebring, marking the beginning of a close and, motorsport-speaking, bountiful relationship between the two wealthy American playboys. Spear parted with this 340 America in October of 1952, though he continued to compete with a string of subsequent Ferraris, much to Chinetti’s delight. The car’s second owner, one Charles E. Brown from Los Angeles, picked up right where Spear left off, returning to a number of SCCA National Sportscar meetings throughout 1953. And it’s this extensive North American competition history which, today, lends chassis 0118 A one of the sweetest strings to its bow: the abundance of wonderful black-and-white and colour period photography, published in a raft of great automotive books and publications over the years. This Ferrari 340 America remained on the America’s West Coast, passing through the stables of a handful of owners until 1988, when it was acquired by the avid Italian Ferrari collector Fabrizio Violati. Heir to a prominent Italian mineral-water and wine empire, Violati kindled his Ferrari collection in 1965, buying of all models a 250 GTO – unbeknownst to his family, who disapproved of his insatiable obsession with motorsport! Over the decades, he assembled a stunning collection of over 40 significant Prancing Horses (and many more Abarths!), displaying them in the specially-built Maranello Rosso Collection museum in San Marino. Chassis 0118 A remained in the Maranello Rosso Collection for almost a decade, making four outings in the Mille Miglia Storico. Upon leaving the Maranello Rosso Collection, this Ferrari returned to the United States and has enjoyed only two owners since, the latter of whom took the decision to commission a comprehensive restoration. The exhaustive two-year 11-phase project was undertaken by Patrick Ottis and Motion Products Inc., the award-winning Wisconsin-based Italian classic automotive restoration specialist. The brief from the outset was clear: to return chassis number 0118 A to the exact specification and livery in which Bill Spear owned and raced it in the 1951 24 Hours of Le Mans. And as the hundreds of photos documenting the process illustrate, no stone was left unturned. The result is, as one would expect, astonishing. From the dainty bucket seats upholstered in blue leather and the hand-painted ‘Superleggera 51 Le Mans Special’ signage on the wings to the additional spotlights and the ornate Jaeger dials, every last detail is nothing short of beguiling. Upon completion of its restoration, chassis number 0118 A made its first – and, to this date, only – public appearance at the 2023 Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach. Retaining its matching-numbers chassis and engine, this Ferrari 340 America is accompanied by copies of its original Ferrari factory build sheets and a report by the renowned Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, confirming the car’s clear and comprehensive history. “A scintillating and ultra-rare open ‘big-banger’ 12-cylinder Ferrari with excellent period competition provenance, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, chassis number 0118 A is a truly remarkable proposition.” A scintillating and ultra-rare open ‘big-banger’ 12-cylinder Ferrari with excellent period competition provenance, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, chassis number 0118 A is a truly remarkable proposition. Fresh from a zero-compromise restoration and having only been fleetingly seen in public, this Ferrari is a ticket to the world’s greatest historic motoring events. From prestigious beauty pageants such as the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to dynamic events such as the Mille Miglia Storico and, of course, the Le Mans Classic. Returning chassis number 0118 A to the Circuit de la Sarthe, 74 years after Bill Spear contested the 24 Hours proper. Now isn’t that a tantalizing proposition? 1951 Ferrari 340 America Touring Barchetta Girardo & Co. Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Other Cars from Girardo & Co. - 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 "Sting Ray"
The Corvette C1 was the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet. It was decided that Chevrolet needed a two seater sports car to satisfy a growing market which had mainly been dominated by European imports of Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, Mercedes and MG’s. Chevrolet’s designer Harley Earl began design work, and a pre-production Corvette prototype was first shown to the public in January 1953 at General Motors Motorama event in New York city. The car proved to be an instant success and went onto be Americas most popular sports car of the time. It was decided that after a decade in production a replacement car was necessary. This tough task was given to Chevrolet chief designer Bill Mitchell and stylist Larry Shinoda, to improve on a living legend. Not only did they succeed but their creation turned into a modern classic and they created the most collectible of all the Corvettes. Introduced in 1963 the new “Sting Ray” sported many new styling features including pivoting hidden headlamps, new interior, suspension and engine upgrades including the 327 CU Inch – 5360cc engine. The Chevrolet Corvette C2 Convertible offered for sale at Autostorcio is a 1963 example – chassis number 308675115069. She is finished in Red with a Black hood and Black leather interior. This stunning example was purchased by its current owner in 2010 and brought into the United Kingdom in 2016. Having been exceptionally well maintained with recent works including an engine bay detail along with new carpets carried out by GP Customs. Equipped with Manual four speed transmission, Heater and Rare factory hardtop. Supplied with a comprehensive file including Current V5 registration document, Invoices, MOTs and various other related material. This is the perfect opportunity to own an iconic Corvette which will certainly appreciate further over time. 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 "Sting Ray" Autostorico Partners LLP If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988-lamborghini-countach-5000-quattrovalvole-885-uk-rhd
Designing a successor to the delicious Lamborghini Miura was something of a challenge for Marcello Gandini, however with the arrival of the 'Countach' in 1971, he demonstrated to the world that his ability to create automotive drama was alive and well. In fact, the word 'Countach' is Piedmontese slang for something that visually shocks, and has no direct translation but 'Wow' is probably the most polite. The first Countach appeared at the Geneva Show in 1971,and big, bright and brash like the rest of the 70s, the Countach was to remain in production, through various iterations for many years. With hindsight, it's clear that the car's 'flying wedge' design, sloping snout that appeared to descend directly from the windscreen and innovative 'scissor doors' became a template for every 'supercar' that followed. Over its 17-year production run, the Countach evolved continuously in response to both technical demands and increasing competition, not least from rivals such as the Ferrari Testarossa. By 1985, Lamborghini responded with the LP5000 Quattrovalvole, a significant step forward that saw the V12 enlarged to 5.2 litres and fitted with four valves per cylinder. In European carburettor form, complete with the distinctive ‘power dome’ engine cover, output rose to around 455bhp, delivering vivid performance with 0–60mph achieved in little over four seconds and a top speed approaching 190mph. However, it is the final development of this series, the so-called “88 1/2”, that is widely regarded as the most compelling of all. Not an official factory designation but an enthusiast-coined term, these late-1988 cars represent the ultimate iteration of the Quattrovalvole before the arrival of the more heavily revised 25th Anniversary model. Subtle yet important updates included redesigned, straked side sills which improved airflow to the rear brakes and previewed elements of the Anniversary styling, whilst retaining the purer, more delicate surfacing of the earlier cars. Crucially, the “88 1/2” occupies a unique position in the Countach story. It blends the incremental engineering improvements of the later production cars with the raw, analogue character of the original concept, before the 25th Anniversary introduced a degree of visual and ergonomic softening. For many enthusiasts and collectors, this balance makes the “88 1/2” the most resolved and desirable Countach of all. The example offered here is particularly significant. One of just 17 right-hand drive “88 1/2” cars produced, it is also believed to be among the final examples completed, adding further to its appeal. Finished in Rosso with a Cream leather interior accented by red piping, it presents in a colour combination that perfectly complements the car’s dramatic form and period character. Few specifications capture the essence of the Countach more effectively. Supplied new on 4th August 1988 via Lamborghini London Limited to a well-known client in Bristol, the car has enjoyed careful ownership throughout its life. Acquired by our vendor in 2016, it has been maintained for many years by respected marque specialist Mike Pullen of Carrera Sport in West Sussex, a name well known within Lamborghini circles for his expertise with these cars. The history file is described as comprehensive and includes numerous MOT certificates supporting the recorded mileage, alongside a collection of period tax discs, its original service book and the owner’s handbook. Such documentation provides valuable insight into the car’s life and underlines the care it has received over the years. Visually, mechanically and historically, this Countach encapsulates everything that made the model such an icon. Alongside contemporaries such as the Porsche 911 Turbo, it defined the aspirational automotive landscape of the 1980s, adorning bedroom walls and capturing the imagination of a generation. Yet even within that illustrious company, the Countach stood apart, more extreme, more theatrical and undeniably more exotic. Today, as the market continues to recognise the significance of analogue supercars, the very qualities that once made the Countach challenging—its uncompromising ergonomics, dramatic styling and visceral driving experience—are now central to its appeal. The “88 1/2”, as the final and most developed expression of that ethos, sits at the very top of the hierarchy. This example, with its rare right-hand drive configuration, late production status and evocative colour combination, represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire what is widely considered the definitive Countach. 1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole 88.5 UK RHD Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1959 Abarth 2200 Coupe by Allemano
Type 216. 135 bhp, 2,162 cc inline six-cylinder engine with three Weber 38DCOE carburettors, four-speed manual transmission, front transverse leaf-spring suspension, rear coil springs, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,450 mm Carlo Abarth founded his tuning company in Turin in 1950. He would eventually take over the failed Cisitalia business following its demise, and it was this that ensured Abarth would begin to produce desirable and successful cars in its own right. Following a string of collaborations with some of the most famous and respected Italian coachbuilders of the day, Abarth quickly became a well-established name, producing cars such as the 750 GT Zagato “Double Bubble.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, when Abarth chose to develop his own interpretation of the Fiat 2100 saloon, he turned to Turin-based Carrozzeria Allemano. Allemano was established in 1928 and worked with the likes of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and Cisitalia. It is thought that just 28 examples of the Abarth 2200 (so named due to the increased displacement of the Fiat 2100) were produced, with a small number also bodied by Carrozzeria Ellena. This Abarth 2200 Allemano Coupé was delivered in 1959 in Mica-red with a black leather interior, the same combination in which it is presented in excellent condition today. Previously part of the Fritz Neuser Collection, it was restored between 2002 and 2011 by his Scuderia Auto Neuser in Nuremberg, Germany. An enormous file containing the history of the car, the invoices of the complete restoration and many, many photos is present. Highlighting both the quality and rarity of this car, it participated in the 2014 Schloss Bensberg Concours d’Elégance. In January 2020 this car won the first prize at Interclassics Maastricht in the category "Best Car of the Fourties & Fifties". It is not often that such rare examples of an Italian coach-built car become available, and this Abarth represents a fantastic opportunity for its new owner to stand out from the crowd. Both hard and soft tops are finished in black. The two-tone look complements the car nicely, and it looks particularly handsome in all configurations. Inside, thick, black beautifully mellowed leather retains a factory appearance, while the center console displays preserved wood veneer, ventilation controls, and correct Becker Mexico cassette deck. The trio of deeply hooded gauge pods is home to a central, metric speedometer. A recent 2024 inspection, service, and complete European bumper and headlight conversion ensures this collector grade SL is ready to provide a stylish open-air driving experience for its next owner as a strong contender for continued enjoyment and preservation. 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Driver Source Fine Motorcars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1956-ferrari-750-monza
Enzo Ferrari’s tireless pursuit of performance saw constant evolution and development of the mechanicals as production went on. Having experimented with a Tipo 555 ‘Super Squalo’ Formula 1 engine in a Series 1 Mondial Tipo 501 chassis, improvements were made to both chassis and engine. The resulting 750 Monza saw the Tipo 119 engine easily produce 260 bhp, which to put into perspective, was 20 bhp than the hottest 3-litre V12, 250 Mille Miglias of the previous year. Offering superb power and torque from just 2,500 rpm, the engine was an instant hit with the works drivers. Designed by Aurelio Lampredi, the 4-cylinder saved a considerable 90 kg over the V12, whilst delivering more power and low down torque. Unlike Colombo V12s of the time, the engine architecture resulted in almost instantaneous dynamic braking when off throttle. Skilled drivers could now approach corners in top gear, lifting off throttle without unsettling the car, and leveraging engine braking to negotiate corners at much greater pace. From Ferrari’s records, it is noted that this is the second Monza to be supplied to French racer Francois Picard. Having heavily crashed his preceding 750 Monza in May of 1955 after racing with several successes, Picard had ordered this car in replacement, waiting some 9 months to receive the car in February 1956. With its chassis more similar to that of the next by sequence 857 S and subsequent 860 and 290 MM, this Monza differs from its peers. It received the latest iteration of the chassis with oval tubes for greater rigidity and torsional stiffness. These modifications were coupled with a unique body that incorporated design cues that would not be seen again until the pontoon-fendered 250 Testa Rossas, ensuring it stands apart. This Monza received a prominent, indented belt line, aiding its identification in period photographs and resulting in a far greater competition history than noted in its 1989 Cavallino article. Picard ordered and raced the car in his national colour, the vibrant French Racing Blue, in which it would remain for its first 18 months. The 26th February 1956 would see the car make its debut at the Agadir GP, where Picard would place 3rd behind Maurice Trintignant and Harry Schell in the works’ Ferraris. The car would see a DNF at the next race in Dakar, but another 3rd place finish in 1000km of Paris the following month where Picard would share the drive with Trintignant. Picard’s finale race in the Monza would be the Rouen GP at the start of July 1956. A few weeks later he would compete at the 24 hours of Le Mans in his 500 TR. For the final race of the season however, the Swedish GP in December, the car would be piloted by Alfonso de Portago. After the race the car was sold directly to Tore Bjurström's Scuderia Ferrari Swezia. For 1957, a change in regulation saw the introduction of the new Appendix C. All cars racing in 1957 were required to have a full width windscreen, a passenger door, both seats to be of the same size and the cockpit be 1.2m wide. Over the winter of 1956, the car was sold to Tore Bjurström and his race team ‘Scuderia Swezia’ and these revisions carried out. Several drivers would race under the Scuderia Ferrari Swezia banner in 1957 and the first time the car would be seen was at the Helsinki GP in May at the hands of Eric Lundgren. Sporting a new centre stripe in yellow, the Monza leveraged the former French racing colour to make Sweden’s racing colours. Carl-Otto Bremer would race the car in the majority that year but shared his debut race with another Finn, Esko ‘Pinoaro’ (Keinänen), in the November Swedish GP. Thereafter he would race alone, his competition resulting in multiple podiums, and no doubt his successes contributing to his purchase of the car outright at the end of the season after a full engine rebuild at the factory. Bremer would repaint the Monza in silver with a blue nose band at the time of his purchase, with the livery remaining to this day. Evidence of the French racing blue and yellow central stripe remain and can be seen around the ignition switch on the dashboard. Bremer would race the car until 1961 after which point in passed through two further owners, Holger Laine and Pentti Groehn who competed in the car on a handful of occasions before it was placed into storage in a garage in Valkeakoski, Finland where it would remain for a quarter of a century. In 1988 the car was located by Kari and Jukka Makela who has spent considerable time exploring the rumour of a 750 Monza in a garage. Having denied knowledge of its existence for some time, he was converted by their persistence and knowledge, eventually allowing them to purchase the car. After some minor fettling and a fuel change, the Monza started up. Its discovery was documented by Cavallino magazine in 1989 and the coverage at the time noted just how original the car was. It would be ten years before the car was offered for sale at the Christies Pebble Beach sale; it went unsold by changed hands the following year to serial Ferrari collector Harry Leventis. The car was acquired by its current owner just a year later who has competed extensively in the car; in Europe, the USA and as far as Macao garnering multiple class wins and podium positions. 1956 Ferrari 750 Monza D.K. - 1984 Ferrari 512BB
"The second Premium offering is a 1984 Ferrari BB 512i, a European-market model from the final year of production and one of 1,007 fuel-injected Berlinetta Boxers built. The car has received service in 2022 including a new timing belt, a valve adjustment, fresh transaxle seals, new tires, and more." This 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi is one of 1,007 fuel-injected Berlinetta Boxers built over a four-year production run, and it is powered by a mid-mounted 4.9L flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Rosso Corsa over tan leather, the car features center-lock metric wheels, disc brakes, Bosch fuel injection, air conditioning, a Bluetooth stereo, aftermarket speakers, and a gated shifter. The car is said to have been individually imported from Europe to the United States when new and remained in Georgia with its original owner until 1999, when it was acquired by an owner in California’s Bay Area, from whom the current owner acquired it in 2011. Work in 2022 included a timing-belt service, adjusting the valves, setting the timing, resealing the transaxle, and replacing the tires, axle boots, spark plugs, air filters, exhaust gaskets, and drive belts. Now showing 18k miles, this 512 BBi is offered on dealer consignment as part of the Mohr Imports Monterey Collection Sale with recent service records, manufacturer’s literature, uninstalled audio equipment, a tool roll, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title. The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was executed by Scaglietti, and construction consists of a steel semi-monocoque with front and rear subframes, aluminum doors and clamshells, and lower panels in fiber-reinforced plastic. This example is finished in Rosso Corsa, and features include pop-up headlights, fog lights, a front spoiler, and NACA side ducts. The car is not equipped with side-marker lights. Paint-meter readings are provided toward the end of the gallery. Five-spoke center-lock metric wheels with Ferrari etchings are mounted with three-ear chrome knockoffs and wear 240/55VR415 Michelin TRX tires, which were installed in May 2022. Each corner is equipped with disc brakes. The interior is upholstered in tan leather, and the cabin is finished with contrasting brown carpeting. Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, and a gated shifter as well as aftermarket speakers and an Alpine CD player with Bluetooth connectivity. A removed Pioneer equalizer is included. A three-spoke Momo steering wheel sits ahead of Veglia instrumentation that includes a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges that extend to the center of the dashboard. The stitching above the glovebox is not straight. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added by the current owner. The 4,943cc F110A flat-12 was rated at 335 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque when new. Fuel delivery is controlled by a Bosch K-Jetronic injection system utilizing twin CIS fuel distributors. In March 2022 a timing-belt service was performed by Grand Prix Motors of Campbell, California, during which the engine was removed from the car, the engine bay was cleaned, the valves were adjusted, the timing was set, and the timing belts, air filters, exhaust gaskets, spark plugs, and drive belts were replaced. The car passed a California emissions test that month, and then in May 2022 the distributor was disassembled and cleaned, and the rear crankshaft seal and the battery were replaced. More than $15k in receipts from 2022 are viewable in the gallery below. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. In May 2022 the transaxle was resealed, the fluid was changed, the CV axles were greased, and the axle boots were replaced. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below. Recent service records are pictured in the gallery and will accompany the vehicle. The California Bureau of Automotive Repair applied the above label to the car in July 1999, which corresponds with the first time the vehicle was subjected to (and passed) California emissions testing. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration activity in Georgia and California, with entries as early as 1995. 1984 Ferrari 512BB Mohr Imports, Inc. - 1964-aston-martin-db5-convertible-1
The sporting DB4 served Aston Martin magnificently across its five series but in 1963, the time came to introduce the revised DB5. Regarded by many as the marque’s finest Italianate-era entry, once again the model made use of Touring of Milan’s lightweight tubular Superleggera construction method that supported alloy body panels. Underneath the beautiful skin, the famed straight-six designed by Tadek Marek grew from 3,670 cc up to 4 litres to produce a healthy 282 brake horsepower. To enjoy the driving experience even more, between 1963 and 1965, the Newport Pagnell factory built 123 DB5 Convertibles. With 39 of those configured for use abroad, a mere 84 were completed in right-hand-drive form suited for British roads. Such an intoxicating recipe found favour with the great and the good. A broad spectrum of past and present famous owners of the rare DB5 Convertible reportedly included Peter Sellers, Princess Magaret, Prince Michael of Kent, Elle Macpherson, Ralph Lauren, and, perhaps less surprisingly, former Aston Martin boss Sir David Brown. According to the accompanying copy of the Vehicle Heritage Certificate issued in April 2013 by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust, chassis number DB5C/1509/R offered here was delivered on 10 July 1964 to a dealership in Brooklands. This right-hand-drive car was configured in Platinum to complement a Black soft-top roof and an interior trimmed with Black Connolly leather. Originally, a 4-litre straight-six was paired with a three-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission. The first owner is listed as Clearmount Limited of New Bond Street, London. From November 1987, the DB5 Convertible was owned by Mr Philip Barton-Wright from Grays in Essex. He kept the car for almost 13 years before it was acquired by the Germany-based consignor. However, before taking delivery of chassis number DB5C/1509/R in late-1999, he tasked The Aston Workshop of Beamish in County Durham with a major overhaul. Most notably, after the bodyshell was acid-treated, the car was changed to its current metallic Silver Birch hue. In addition, the dashboard was restored, a new black mohair roof and wire wheels were fitted, the gearbox and rear axle rebuilt, the carburettors refreshed, and uprated anti-roll bars equipped as part of work totalling £48,000 (invoice available to view on file). Since completion, the DB5 Convertible has formed part of the seller’s pre- and post-war Aston Martin collection. In 2008, the DB5 did return to the United Kingdom ahead of an extensive rebuild of the replacement engine. Aston Engineering of Derby was tasked with the overhaul, which notably included boring out the straight-six to desirable 4.2-litre capacity. In addition to installing new pistons supplied by Cosworth, the cylinder head was refurbished, the camshaft covers powder coated, and the three SU carburettors rebuilt at a cost of £12,530. A further £8,609 was spent with the marque specialist to cover the costs of a replacement clutch and flywheel, a service of the brakes, and greasing the chassis. The Aston Martin is notably accompanied by a restamped spare engine block in addition to a jack, tool roll, plus spare wheel. Currently featuring an uprated engine that is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, this DB5 Convertible could offer a thrilling open-air driving experience to its next owner. 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Convertible RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1961 Lancia Flaminia GT 2.5 Convertible
Previously prepared by Lancia experts A rare and beautiful Italian sports car Restored in Italy in the late 1990's Original colour combination A charming example benefiting from a comprehensive restoration Supplied new to the USA in 1961, finished in Newmarket Grey with a red sky leather interior. Little is known of the cars early history, but in 1989 it was acquired by Mr R D Pardilla of San Francisco who purchased the car when it was painted in a bright red. The previous owner had replaced the original engine with the correct type of engine which the car is fitted with today. After 10 years of ownership Mr R D Pardilla sold the car to Mr Burbani Senior, who later in 1999 sold the car to his son R Burbani Junior who imported the car to Italy where a nut and bolt restoration commenced. It was clear the car was destined to be restored into a perfect example, the car was returned to its original colour of New Market Grey, 3 years into the restoration the car was sold to noted British collector Mr Harmond who finished the restoration in Italy. Chassis 824041328 was acquired by our client in 2019 from Lancia experts Thornley Kelham of Cirencester who prepared the car in the condition it shows now and completed a full service prior to hand-over. The car is presented in good condition throughout. There are, however, various marks and blemishes around the car, including cracking in the lacquer along the tops of the front and rear passenger side wings, and some light bubbling in the lacquer on the sill just below the front corner of the driver’s door. The car is complete with a detailed history file and restoration file which shows the labour of love which went into restoring the car and maintaining it since. 1961 Lancia Flaminia GT 2.5 Convertible O'KANE LAVERS Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1961 Lancia Flaminia 2500 GT Touring
This fantastic Lancia Coupé with its Touring coachwork, one of 863 examples built, with a 2.5 litre engine V6 delivering 119 horsepower was registered in July 1961, most probably in Italy. Many years ago, the Flaminia was imported and registered in Switzerland. Around 15 years ago the coachwork was restored and repainted with the interior left in its original condition, showing a lovely age correct patina. In 2011 the Lancia was taken over by the vendor who gave it the necessary exercise whilst performing thorough maintenance on the car. In 2020, around 1’000 kilometres ago, the rear crankshaft seal was replaced, the valves adjusted, the suspension overhauled and the rear dampers replaced. The Italian luxury Coupé is in good condition and is ready to revive 60s Italian cinematic dolce vita for its next lucky owner. The most recent Veteran MOT dates from June 2019. 1961 Lancia Flaminia 2500 GT Touring Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
