This 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo is a Rest-of-World coupe that was modified in the style of a 993 911 GT2 by AP Car Design of Göttingen, Germany in the 2020s. The car has been repainted yellow and fitted with an aluminum hood and doors along with a three-piece front spoiler, a GT-style rear wing, and riveted fenders. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, twin-plug flat-six that was overhauled and modified to displace 3.8-liters, and all four wheels are driven through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. It rides on 18? BBS three-piece wheels in addition to adjustable Bilstein coilovers, GT2-specification front disc brakes, and front and rear anti-roll bars. Inside, the cockpit has been fitted with a pair of Recaro bucket seats as well as a Matter roll cage, while the factory automatic climate control, power windows, and CD stereo are retained. This GT2-style 993 Turbo is now offered on dealer consignment in California with manufacturer’s literature, build photos, previous German registration documents, and a clean Colorado title. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L Originally finished in Blue Turquoise Metallic, the car was modified with GT2-style bodywork, including an aluminum hood and doors, a three-piece front spoiler, a carbon-fiber rear wing, and riveted fenders prior to a repaint in Speed Yellow by AP Car Design in Göttingen, Germany in the early 2020s. A Walter Röhrl signature adorns the fuel filler door, and further exterior details include clear indicator and side marker lenses as well as 911 GT badging. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L Staggered-width 18? BBS E88 three-piece wheels feature silver centers with polished lips and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that measure 225/40 up front and 285/30 out back. A carbon-fiber strut tower brace spans the front trunk compartment, and Bilstein coilovers, reinforced adjustable sway bars, and RSR-style monoball bearings have also been installed. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L The seller states that 993 GT2 Evo-specification brakes have been added up front, while the rear brakes retain factory Turbo components. The calipers have been powder coated in red, and the power steering system was reportedly refreshed and fitted with a GT2 steering rack during the build. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L The cockpit houses a body-color, welded-in Matter roll cage surrounding a pair of Recaro Profi SPG (XL) seats trimmed in black cloth with checkerboard inserts that extend to the central tunnel, pedal surround, rear compartment, and lightweight door panels. Additional appointments include power windows, automatic climate control, a dash-mounted kill switch, and a Porsche CD stereo. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L A three-spoke steering wheel with a Porsche crest horn button fronts Turbo S silver dial instrumentation that includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 340-km/h speedometer, a clock, and a pair of combination gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 14k kilometers (~9k miles), and total mileage is unknown. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L The twin-turbocharged flat-six was modified with twin-plug cylinder heads and 3.8L Mahle pistons and cylinders during the build. Other work is noted to have involved polishing the crankshaft, machining the cylinder head, and installing larger valves, lightened connecting rods, GT2 Evo-specification camshafts, a Secan intercooler, and custom intake manifolds. GT2-Style RoW 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Twin-Plug 38L Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle that is said to have been overhauled and reinforced during the build. Additional work performed at that time reportedly involved installing a 60/40 limited-slip differential as well as a ZF Sachs clutch and an aluminum flywheel. The car is equipped with a Fabspeed exhaust system incorporating dual HJS catalytic converters.
