The Series II Countach LP400 S offered here is a rare example — one of just 105 “low-body” models — retaining the lowered suspension, ride height, and body styling of the original LP400. It recently underwent a meticulous, multi-year restoration overseen by renowned Lamborghini expert Valentino Balboni. Arguably the most iconic car design ever, the Lamborghini Countach redefined the supercar when it debuted at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. Named after a Piedmontese exclamation meaning “magnificent,” it was a bold leap from the curvy Miura, with Marcello Gandini crafting a sharp, wedge-shaped silhouette. The design introduced Lamborghini’s signature scissor doors and set a new standard in automotive styling—unlike anything else on the road. The first major update to the Countach came at the request of Canadian F1 team owner Walter Wolf, who wanted to enhance the performance of his personal car. He collaborated with Lamborghini’s chief engineer, Gianpaolo Dallara, to equip it with a 5.0-litre engine and significantly larger Pirelli P7 tires.. To accommodate these upgrades, the car’s bodywork and suspension geometry were extensively reengineered. Wolf’s modifications impressed Lamborghini enough to inspire a production version — the LP400 S
