Islero S, the Lamborghini for connoisseurs – rarer than the Miura, more refined than the Espada, and powered by the legendary V12. The Lamborghini Islero offered here is a rare 400 GTS, one of the rarest production Lamborghinis from the classic V12 era—Lamborghini itself states that 70 were built—and was delivered in Switzerland. It was delivered in December 1969, in Verde Pallido exterior paint and a Nero & Verde interior, to the Lamborghini importer at the time, Garage Foitek in Zurich. According to the Lamborghini registry, Garage Foitek handed the car over to its first owner, a diplomat from Geneva, in January 1970. The car was presumably left sitting in a garage by its second owner for nearly 20 years before it was reportedly “rescued” by a collector in the Solothurn area with 12,800 km on the odometer. During its 12-year tenure with its most recent owner, this stunning Lamborghini Islero 400 GTS was regularly and professionally serviced and is in top-maintained and highly original collector’s condition. Its rarity, V12 engine, manual transmission, Ferruccio era, understated design, and outstanding GT characteristics make the Lamborghini Islero S an exceptionally appealing classic. And with only about 70 units officially recorded by Lamborghini, it’s in a league of its own compared to an ordinary classic GT.
