Contrary to many other Bizzarrini's, #0245 has a clear and continuous history from new. In 2005, Michael Erlich, a Swiss racing driver and enthusiast, purchased the car and commissioned a full rebuild of #0245 with the clear intention to race his car in major European race meetings. For years, he successfully participated in many events such as the Trofeo Nastro Rosso, NKHTGT, Le Mans Legends, etc. with multiple podium finishes and wins. In 2014 he decided to move to another project and sold the car to another famous pair of racing drivers: Tarek & Galal Mahmoud. At that time #0245 was handed to Historic Automobile with the gifted Simon Blake. A further 100K€ was spent on the car to bring it to top level racing. The work done included a fresh Mathwall FIA engine, new fuel cells, new brake calipers, Aeroquip hoses, Vbox kit, etc. Under Cedar Racing Team colors, the car participated in various historic races including the exclusive Goodwood Members Meeting in 2016. The current owner purchased the car in 2017 and raced it in Peter Auto series. Firstly maintained by Gipimotor, the car joined the French specialist Yvan Mahe at Equipe Europe. #0245 benefited a meticulous maintenance and a comprehensive race preparation with no expense saved. Rare period Campagnolo brake calipers and a new Warrior engine delivering 460Hp were fitted. New rear axle, fine-tuned gearbox… From then the car proved to be one the quickest and the most reliable Bizzarrini on track and legally prepared in compliance with the FIA and Peter Auto regulations. #0245 is located in our showroom in Paris, and is sold with a valid FIA HTP, a complete history file and is road registered in France. The car is on the button, and freshly awarded of the third place and second car in the Greatest’s Trophy 2022 classification. A huge number of spares is part of the sale including: 2 gearboxes, 1 rear axle, 6 wheels, 2 sets of brakes calipers etc. This is a rare opportunity to buy an alloy bodied, no-stories and very competitive Bizzarrini 5300 in outstanding condition which is eligible for all historic race and rally events including Le Mans Classic, Goodwood and Peter Auto race series: The Greatest's Trophy, Spa 6H to name a few.
