One of the 11 original INDEPENDENT COMPETITION CARS

CSX 2035 as invoiced to Shelby American on October 25, 1962, equipped with aluminum rocker arm covers, wind-wings, sun visors, front and rear bumpers, chrome exhaust tips, and a heater. It was shipped to Los Angeles, where SS Research & Development sold the car to renowned racer John Razelle of Seattle. Razelle would race the car from new, with success. During its early racing career, the car achieved notable victories, including breaking the record at the Mount Douglas Hillclimb by over three seconds. Razelle and the iconic white Cobra became a dominant presence at the Westwood Racing Circuit in British Columbia, securing a commanding win by over twelve seconds in 1964. Over multiple seasons, the car continued its winning streak in various SCCA circuit and hill climb events. In 2021, the car was acquired by its current owner, who commissioned a comprehensive restoration by Pursuit Racing to meet FIA pre-1963 specifications. During the restoration the bodywork was carried out by marque specialist Brooklands Motor Company, the engine was built by RAC TT-winning engine builder Peter Knight to the highest pre-63 spec, and complete mechanical and race preparation by Pursuit Racing. Invited to the prestigious Goodwood Revival for the past two years. At the 80th Members’ Meeting in 2023, the car won the Pre-63 race outright, setting the fastest lap at 1:29.048. This car is a proven front-runner and an exceptional opportunity for any serious racer or collector.
