Based on the Biturbo’s predecessor, Maserati decided to relaunch the Ghibli at the Turin Motor Show. This time, Marcello Gandini had the pleasure of designing the car and came with a brutal, even wild, look for a sportscar offering a balanced combination of comfort and sportiness. In response to the demand, the Ghibli II was equipped with a V6 engine that was considerably smaller in capacity with 2.0 litres but did not disappoint. The 302 horses made the car accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres an hour (0-60 mph) in less than six seconds. The Ghibli II is rare to find on the market. Approximately 2,500 examples of them were built in total. GTs appeared in 1995 after the acquisition of Maserati by the Fiat group. Their rear frame has been replaced by the one used on other cars of the group (such as that of the Ferrari 456 for example) which makes them much more reliable than the first Biturbos. And quite interesting to note is that only 166 Ghibli GT were made in the 2.0L version. The one we present here for sale is painted in a very elegant color : Blue Sera. The high-class beige interior combines beautifully crafted leather, Alcantara and precious woods. This is the last Maserati model produced with a hand-made interior trim. It has been well enjoyed by its previous owners with 138.000 km on the counter. The vehicle was produced for the Italian market in 1996 and stayed in the hands of the first owner for 6 years. In 2005, it was imported to the Netherlands and cherished for another 8 years. A French gentleman bought the Ghibli in 2013 and sold it back to the current owner in 2015. The car has been registered in Belgium since then and drives occasionally for pleasure. Globally, the vehicle is in good condition. The paint shows a nice shine with no traces of rust. Has never been accidented. Regularly maintained by Maserati official dealers or specialists (all invoices available). Interested ? Do not hesitate to visit us. Few cars genuinely transcend design boundaries to become greater than a sum of their parts, to be considered an art form rather than categorised as transport—the 250 GT SWB is one of them. The 250 GT SWB was the product of evolution, a quest for perfection and competition dominance. Its predecessor, the “Tour de France” variant of the 250 GT, had been wildly successful in GT racing but the SWB marked a step-change for Ferrari. Designed with a shorter chassis, the SWB debuted the proficient 168-type “outside-plug” version of Ferrari’s 3-litre V-12 engine and disc brakes were fitted on all four corners—for endurance racing, a powerful and reliable drivetrain was key to success. Fulfilling its promise, the SWB Competizione variant proceeded to dominate GT racing across Europe and America achieving overall or class victories in nearly 250 races between 1960 and 1967. These included a number of epic wins, with notable class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1960 and 1961, as well as overall victory at the 1961 and 1962 Tour de France, the latter of which was won by beating eight 250 GTOs in the process. One of just 45 aluminium-bodied Competizione examples built in 1960, chassis 1773 GT was completed on 16 March 1960, constructed intentionally, as noted on its build sheet, for the 1960 edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring—significantly this race was the SWB’s competition debut. This Ferrari was delivered new in a high-level competition specification per Factory Build Sheets—of note are the Tipo 168B “hot rod” engine and roll hoop. Entered by Luigi Chinetti’s famous North American Racing Team, apparently with light factory support, this SWB was piloted by George Arents and Bill Kimberly, both wealthy heirs and well-known exponents of the US racing scene. Arents was a founding backer of NART, so it is no coincidence that he was the first owner of 1773 GT. Entered into the Sports 3 Litre class due to its then non-homologated status, 1773 GT was vying for overall honours against the likes of Porsche RS 60s, Ferrari 250 TRs and two other SWBs. When the chequered flag dropped after 12 punishing hours of racing, this SWB crossed the line in an impressive 7th place overall, and 5th in class. Chassis 1773 GT was later sold to multiple Le Mans class winner, Bob Grossman, who next brought the SWB out to the star-studded series of year-end races at Nassau. The Bahamas Speed Week was the bookend of the season with Works-entered cars and drivers from Europe and America convening in Nassau. Starting with the Tourist Trophy race, Grossman finished a fine 2nd overall behind Stirling Moss in the Rob Walker-entered SWB, before competing in the Governor’s Trophy and finishing 11th overall. The final race was the Nassau Trophy, where Grossman finished 11th overall again but this time taking an accomplished GT class win. In early 1961, 1773 GT was sold to its third owner, Bob Hathaway, who raced this Ferrari regularly throughout 1961 and early 1962, picking up overall and class podiums at most events. For one weekend in May 1961, former and future owners Grossman and Walt Luftman borrowed this SWB for the SCCA National races at Bridgehampton with Grossman taking overall victory in Race 6. The Ferrari made its second appearance at Nassau for the 1961 edition of the Bahamas Speed Week. In the Tourist Trophy race, Hathaway finished 3rd overall behind Moss and Grossman, who were both driving younger SWB Competizione “SEFAC Hot Rods”. For the Governor’s Trophy, Hathaway finished 7th overall, following Grossman’s SWB across the line. Unfortunately, a holed radiator forced a retirement from the Nassau Trophy race. After a highly successful ownership in which 1773 GT achieved a dozen podium class finishes in nearly 20 races, Hathaway sold the SWB back to Grossman, who immediately traded it to friend Walt Luftman. After Luftman, it had a further six owners until 1987, when it joined the Van der Velden family. The car passed through the hands of three further owners, including the respected collections of Nigel Dawes and Tony Smith, before being purchased by Bruce McCaw in 1999. Kept by him for a little over two years, it then entered the care of Ervin Lyon, who showed this SWB at the 2003 Amelia Island Concours before it joined the stable of historic racer John Romano. In this collection it was regularly seen at Ferrari events including Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge races and the 2010 Cavallino Classic. In 2014, this remarkable Ferrari became part of the celebrated Pinnacle Portfolio. Recognising the importance of this early SWB Competizione, it was sent to Wayne Obry’s Motion Products Inc. to be restored to concours-winning standard. The car was entirely rebuilt with the intention of restoring it to exact delivery specification, so it was repainted to the correct shade of Giallo with a new stunning Pelle Verde interior. While the body was in bare metal, its originality was confirmed, and the chassis was studied to prove the charmed life this Ferrari has led. In all, invoices totalled nearly $700,000. In 2023, this historic Ferrari was submitted to Ferrari Classiche and was granted full Red Book certification. During the process, the factory confirmed that this remarkable SWB Competizione importantly retains its original matching-numbers chassis, engine, and rear axle, while the gearbox fitted is a correct aluminium ribbed-casing competition unit. The certification also noted the originality of the body. The Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione cemented its place in sports car history as one of the most successful GT racers of all time with nearly 250 victories in over 700 period competition races. Ranked among the finest 250 GT SWB Competizione extant, 1773 GT boasts the rare combination of a high performance original build configuration, a remarkable level of originality and preservation, and significant competition history at some of the great endurance races of the period. Eligible for some of the finest motoring events around the world, from the lawns of Pebble Beach to the Dunlop Curves of Le Mans, this remarkable SWB Competizione is ready to take its place among any of the greatest collections. At the peak of its evolution before replacement by the Stratos HF in 1974, the 1.6-litre HF (High Fidelity) car, bearing the name of HF Squadra Corse, gave Lancia the means in which to win multiple European Rally Championships races from 1970 to 1972. This was followed by topping the latter year’s International Championship for Manufacturers; a second Makes championship win followed two years later in the revamped World Rally Championship. As an ultimate road car, the Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF had few contenders. A 75 millimetre stroke and 82 millimetre bore gave Lancia’s engineers a 1,584 cc engine, enough to make 114 brake horsepower with a 10.5:1 compression ratio; 135 brake horsepower (and later 165 brake horsepower) was soon possible thanks to larger twin 45 millimetre carburettors, greater camshafts, and higher compression pistons. Nicknamed ‘Fanalone’ owing to its larger-than-standard inner-spotlights, this particular 1.6 HF was delivered in August 1969 to a Mr Carranza Amedeo D'Inzillo through Andrea Martin Agostini, the Lancia concessionaria in Catanzaro, Italy. Originally wearing the registration “84927 CS”, it was re-registered as “Y64174” by 13 May 1981, as D’Inzillo had sold the car to its next owner in Rome. Its most recent registration was issued in 1986, to a Pietro Ghisoni, and has stayed with the car since. Two generations of Ghisoni had restoration work performed on the car, in 1988 and 1995, comprising a respray, retrim, and mechanical work, documented in the service history (available to view on file). During the rebuild, the black interior was retained while the exterior was sprayed in Grigio Escoli Metallizzato, a grey metallic hue popular on later Fulvia Coupés. It later came to be owned by The Sportiva Collection in 2020. This attractive Fulvia is a mouthwatering prospect for those captivated by Lancia’s rallying exploits. It is offered for sale with a toolkit, an impressive history file documenting its restoration and Italian ownership chain, further to paperwork from Automotoclub Storico Italia and a Certificato di Identità issued by the Lancia Club. They chose the latter, and the 365 GTB/4 Daytona was introduced to the world in 1968. Fitted with a 4.4-litre V-12 engine capable of producing 352 horsepower and boasting a 280 km/h top speed, this was one of the fastest production automobiles to ever put rubber to road. Le Mans-winning Ferrari driver and well-known automotive journalist Paul Frère claimed to hit 176 mph in autostrada traffic in 1969. ‘It’s the engine that makes the music,’ he noted, ‘the finest music of all to the ears of the enthusiast, and the music he can enjoy in a well-sprung car, fitted with such amenities as electric window lifters, air conditioning…and a really capacious luggage locker—a Grand Touring car par excellence.’ Built as a late-specification Daytona in 1973, the model’s final year of production, chassis number 16437 was originally finished in Rosso Chiaro Ferrari (20-R-190 Salchi) over a Pelle Nera (VM 8500) interior. It was originally imported to Spain through the country’s official Ferrari importer, T.A.Y.R.E of Madrid. According to Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, the Daytona was displayed at the 1973 Barcelona Motor Show; a photo of the car on the stand can be seen in Autopista magazine’s report of the show, with chassis number 16437 seen sitting alongside a 365 GT4 2+2 and a 246 Dino GT. First registered in Spain in May of 1973, little is known of the car’s early history, although it did remain in Spain throughout the 1990s and was featured on the cover of the Spanish classic car magazine Motor Clásico in its June 1993 issue. Invoices on file from the car’s time in Spain in the 1990s show numerous parts purchases from official Ferrari distributors in the UK, suggesting that the car was likely undergoing a restoration at this time. The Daytona remained in Spain until 2000, when it was purchased by a well-known Ferrari collector in Bordeaux and exported to France. A number of invoices from his ownership are available to view on file. In 2018, the Ferrari was acquired by the current owner, who immediately commissioned a raft of restoration work. A full repaint was carried out in its original Rosso Chiaro, upholstery work was carried out on the interior, perished rubber components including weatherstripping and engine hoses were replaced, while four new Michelin XWX tyres, fresh spark plugs, and new engine mounts were fitted; accompanying invoices amount to approximately €60,000. In 2022, the Daytona was issued Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming that it is presented today as it was when it departed the factory in 1973. Importantly, the car’s certification documents confirm that it retains its original chassis, engine, gearbox, and bodywork. In addition to the Classiche certification, the Daytona is accompanied by numerous invoices from its time in both France and Spain. Unquestionably one of Ferrari’s most iconic automobiles, the 365 GTB/4 Daytona remains a bucket-list purchase for many enthusiasts. Its grand-touring credentials are unparalleled and the model remains more than capable of outpacing modern traffic—the perfect tool for long-distance tours across continental Europe. Considering its recent restoration work and Classiche certification, this particular example would be an ideal purchase for the individual looking to experience a truly incredible automobile. Originally designed as a way of building limited numbers of homologation specials for serious competition use, it soon grew into a major marketing opportunity, and one that Ford grabbed with both hands. By 1976, when the RS2000 Mk2 was launched, the term 'RS' had grown to mean something a bit special. Yet against all odds Iso built a truly marvelous driver’s machine, combining sleek Italian design by Bertone with the unrestrained American power of a Corvette V-8. The Grifo was one of the world’s fastest production cars of its time, with a top speed upwards of 140 mph. Its production run of what is believed to be just 330 Series I examples made it quite sought-after when new and it remains so today. The car offered here was built with the 350-horsepower, 327-cubic-inch Hi-Po V-8, Borg-Warner four-speed manual transmission, 3.07:1 rear axle, air conditioning, and ZF quick-ratio steering box. Following completion on 21 March 1967 it was delivered to its original owner in Italy. According to an Iso Grifo registry publication, it was the car memorably featured in major scenes of the gritty 1973 Italian crime film, The Violent Professionals, and later registered in Holland between 2000 and 2013. Subsequently it was acquired in 2017 by Stewart Parr of New York, from whom it was purchased by the present owner in 2021. Mr. Parr undertook a cosmetic restoration of the car in what are reportedly its original colors and with the original drivetrain. The car is equipped with the aforementioned features, as well as power steering and brakes, and a driver’s side-view mirror. Its interior features bucket seats and console trimmed in black leather, a wood-grained dashboard housing Veglia Borletti instrumentation, and both clock and AM radio, while a full-sized spare is housed in the trunk. Its current owner has reportedly invested some $24,000 on further mechanical sorting. Accompanying are an original owner’s manual and period advertising pieces. The Iso Grifo when new combined a fascinating heritage with muscular brawn, sensual design, and impressive performance—with the added, pragmatic appeal of an American powertrain that was and is easy to service and maintain. It ranks among the most beautiful, potent, user-friendly automobiles of its era, and would have a ready home in any fine collection. DESCRIPTION Offered here is a beautiful Fiat Dino that was delivered new to its first owner in Koblenz, Germany on 8th March 1972. This, second-series example features the larger 2.4-litre 180bhp Ferrari engine from the Dino 246 with triple carburettors and a ZF 5-speed gearbox as standard. Our vendor personally sourced, imported and correctly UK-registered this Fiat Dino in 2019 to become part of his Collection. It was carefully selected as the body had been recently professionally painted in striking Azzuro Metallizzato and the nicely detailed, black leather interior was also in excellent condition. Once back in the UK, the Fiat looked good and performed well but didn’t quite meet our vendor's high standards, so the decision was made to begin a schedule of works to have the underside of the car completely refinished. This work was conducted by one of the UK’s best authorities on Italian sports cars of this era, and detailed photographs along with invoices evidence the work carried out. The engine was checked and fully serviced, and the suspension, steering, fuel and braking systems completely overhauled. Some modern features were added for safety and reliability including electronic ignition and new alloy wheels. The original Cromodora wheels are included in the sale and were replaced with Superformance Cromodora-style alloys fitted with brand new period-style Pirelli Cinturato tyres. The result of this extensive overhaul is a Fiat Dino that fires on-the-button, sounds very healthy and performs extremely well, and is now beautifully preserved for another 50 years of enjoyable motoring. Accompanying the Fiat is a history file including invoices and paperwork from Europe, Fiat handbooks, owners manuals, old registration paperwork, all invoices for works conducted in the UK, current V5C ready for transfer or export and, although exempt, the car is offered with a clean MOT Certificate to July 2023. A Ferrari-powered, Bertone-styled Fiat Coupé from the 1970s, all Italian with huge character and an interesting back story, makes this a fabulous sports car in which to arrive at any classic car event. SH ID 24-0219021 FEATURED BY SPEEDHOLICS In Stock United States Dealer SEARCH OTHER CARS COMMENT ON FACEBOOK This Car Contact the Dealer I am Interested Legal & Copyright Transmission Automatic/F1 Drive Side LHD Description The 512 TR was the replacement for the Testarossa, and was announced for the 1992 model year. The new car witnessed a return to a model title using characters, with the figure "5" referring to the cubic capacity of the engine in litres and the "12" to the number of cylinders, whilst the "TR" was an abbreviation of Testarossa (Testa Rossa). The main external visual differences were the nose and tail treatment, the louvre design on the engine lid and the design of the road wheels. There was also a barely noticeable different profile to the sail panel buttresses, which were plain and flowed directly into the roof panel on the 512 TR, instead of featuring the step and black perforated exhaust air grilles of the Testarossa. Internally there were changes to the seats, steering wheel design and trim details. Mechanically there were numerous changes to the engine and gearbox, which boosted power, and provided a more satisfying and positive to use gearbox. Not visually apparent was that the engine and transmission assembly location in the chassis had been dropped by 30mm, to lower the centre of gravity, and thus improve the already high standard of roadholding. The net result of these changes was a jump in the claimed power output of 38bhp to 428bhp @ 6750rpm for European models and 421bhp at the same engine speed for US models. The increased power provided improved acceleration, although the top speed was still in line with that of its predecessor. This 512 TR sits apart from others. This 512 TR was supplied new to the Saudi Arabian Royal Family, care of official Ferrari importers to the region, Red Sea Motors in Jeddah, on 1st June 1993. Immensely passionate about the Ferrari marque, the family were visited by members of the Brunei Royal Family, at their embassy in Riyadh. After a discussion about some new bespoke projects due to arrive in Brunei from Pininfarina, the Saudi Royal Family were enamoured at the sight of a new special project developed in partnership with Hong Seh Motors of Singapore. Ferrari were set to build three 512 TR Spiders. Immediately after the Brunei Royal Family departure, the Saudi Royals contacted Pininfarina in an attempt to secure their own example. Unfortunately, with such strong ties to Brunei, Pininfarina had to reject the request. Seeking an alternative option, the Saudi Royal Family reached out to renowned German coachbuilders Lorenz & Rankl. Formerly carrying out conversion work on behalf of tuners Koenig as well a wealth of desert hunting vehicles for various Middle Eastern Royal families, Lorenz & Rankl had made their name making bespoke convertibles of Mercedes Benz and Ferrari models. Their experience extended to a full convertible version of Ferrari’s 308 and 512 BB. They converted 5 Testarossas to convertible configuration, but would make just 1 512 TR. Leaving the care of its commissioning Royal owner in 2014. It had been stored for a number of years in the Palace garage without use. The TR was sold to a close family friend who had the car fully stripped and serviced, refinishing the car in the Rosso Corsa it presents in today. The restoration took over a year and was completed in 2016. It was used sparingly by the second owner, covering 2,500 kilometres over the next four years, all of which were still in Saudi Arabia. The car was serviced by both Al Tayer Motors and Euro Motors Bahrain during this time. This example was purchased by the current owner in 2020, and, with permission of the Royal Family it was exported to the USA. Since its arrival in the USA, it has undergone registration, now holding a full US title and been serviced on two further occasions, including a major service with cambelts by Omega Motorsport in 2020. Accompanied by its luggage,a book pack including service book and tools, this 512 TR by Lorenz & Rankl is a fantastic means to enjoy Ferrari’s 4.9 twelve cylinder. This example is available for viewings by appointment in Miami. Other Cars from D.K. Engineering Ltd 1/1 Switzerland 1998 Alfa Romeo 156 Group N Cup D.K.
