  • 1969 Shelby GT350 'B Production'

This fascinating 1969 Shelby GT350 racecar, serial number 480033, began life as a Silver Jade GT500 sold new in Hayward, California on 28 August 1969. Shortly after its initial purchase, the car was stolen and damaged. The insurance company, unwilling to repair what it considered an “exotic” car, cashed out the owner. It was then purchased by Jerry Lecatse’s ABC Auto Wreckers of San Leandro, California in early 1971. Lecatse was a noted Shelby enthusiast in the Bay Area and an active member of the San Francisco Region Sports Car Club of America. Lecaste's friend Lee Fulton had just completed a '69 Shelby that was approved to race in the SCCA B Production class. Following Fulton’s example, Lecatse installed a Boss 302 engine, roll cage, and competition wheels, threw a coat of Grabber Green paint over the car’s new lightweight Maier fiberglass bodywork, and went racing. He competed in B Production races across California from 1973 to 1975 and then sold the car to noted SAAC power couple Gordon and Nancy Gimbel of Roseville, California. The Gimbels continued racing through 1980 at regional and national SCCA events, as well as Shelby Club outings. By the end of their five-year ownership, 480033 had transformed into a 351 Cleveland-powered, Sapphire Blue, GT1-class racer sporting International Motor Sports Association-style flared fenders and 15-inch wheels. After two subsequent owners continued racing the car in GT1, Gary Goeringer of Morgan Hills, California acquired 480033 in 1982 with the intent of returning it to earlier racing specs. He placed it in storage, began to collect parts, and saved his pennies—until a fire ripped through the storage facility and damaged the car alongside 14 others. Goeringer did not touch his Shelby again until 1994, after he was introduced to the famous hot-rodder Doane Spencer. Together the pair began a restoration, repairing 48033 with the assistance of a donor chassis over the next 15 months, until Spencer’s passing in August 1995. The restoration was finally completed in April 2012, following two years of outstanding work by the Hayward, California-based competition Mustang specialist Dave Mani. A comprehensive photo gallery clearly illustrates the incredible attention to detail Mani paid to bring this special Shelby up to Sportscar Vintage Racing Association Gold Medallion class eligibility, which mandates that all parts be original or true copies of period-correct technology and that the car be in as-raced condition in compliance with the 1969 SCCA Rule Book. For motivation, Mani fitted a formidable Boss 302 V-8 built by Skip Govia Racing Engines. Under current ownership since Fall 2012, this painstakingly restored Shelby has been extensively campaigned in countless vintage and historic competitions governed by a wide range of sanctioning bodies, including but not limited to the Classic Sports Racing Group, Historic Motorsports Association, SAAC, SVRA, and Vintage Auto Racing Association. In 2016, the car earned the SVRA’s prestigious Coronado Historic Trophy for Excellence in Presentation. This Shelby GT350 B Production has remained in top racing condition thanks to the consignor’s meticulous maintenance schedule and regular use, as illustrated by invoices on file totaling more than $141,000. One of the latest entries details a $6,400 expenditure to tear down and rebuild the engine, which recent dynamometer tests have shown to deliver a peak rating of 437 horsepower. Additional documentation includes historic imagery, FIA Homologation certificate copies, detailed restoration photos, and numerous magazine features. This sublimely detailed and well-sorted Shelby GT350 racecar now awaits continued enthusiastic participation in historic racing events across the globe. 1969 Shelby GT350 'B Production' RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. “We added 3 priceless options to our all new Ferrari 308 GTS…. the Sun, the Moon and the Stars!” -Ferrari It is October 17, 1979 and Richard Scott enters the Ferrari dealership in San Diego, USA. The day has finally arrived. Nine months ago he sat down on his bare knees at the desk in this dealer and, with a scribble under an order form, he started the production of his Ferrari 308 GTS. He determinedly opted for a rare Argento Auteuil exterior with Nero interior and of course an open roof to catch the best Californian sun rays. When he sees his vehicle on this day, every fiber in his body is activated and the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. The time has finally come. Fast forward many years and this described feeling has not disappeared for anyone when seeing this iconic Ferrari example from the 80s. This specimen was brought to the other side of the ocean by a Norwegian collector in 2010. Upon arrival, the car was restored "nut & bolt" with invoices totaling more than 170,000 euros, with an eye for every detail and exceptionally documented, including original stamped booklets, as you have come to expect from us! • 1981 Porsche 924 GTS Clubsport 'Group B'

Despite being born as a project between Volkswagen and Audi to develop an entry-level car for the Porsche Brand, the 924 Carrera GT, stripped out and highly modified for use in Group 4 racing, was especially built to compete at the top end of endurance racing. With 406 examples built to meet homologation requirements, a bump in power to 210 brake horsepower was a marked increase from the production models. This performance did not come cheap, with the 924 Carrera GT listing at 60,000 DM, roughly equivalent to that of a Ferrari 308 GTB, a car the Porsche matched in top speed but was outpaced in terms of outright acceleration. However, Porsche had more up its sleeve in the form of the 924 Carrera GTS. Power was raised again to 245 brake horsepower and weight was reduced from 1,180 kilograms for the Carrera GT to 1,121 kilograms for the Carrera GTS. A revised drive train, brakes borrowed from the 911 Turbo, and seats from the 935 helped to bring cost to 110,000 DM. Production was extremely limited to just 50 examples. Nevertheless, Porsche was not done yet. At the tip of the spear was the 924 Carrera GTS Club Sport. Of the 50 examples of the 924 Carrera GTS built, only 15 examples were built to Club Sport specification. Thanks to an increased bore bringing displacement to 2,093 cubic centimetres and a larger air-to-air intercooler, the car produced a whopping 270 horsepower at 1.1 Bar with weight further reduced to 1,060 kilograms, making it a fearsome competitor on track. This was said to be the fastest production car Porsche had ever built at the time of its unveiling, with a list price of 124,000 DM. For comparison, a 911 SC cost 53,000 DM. All 15 of these cars were handbuilt in Weissach (with the remainder of production occurring in Zuffenhausen), with nine being sold to the US leaving six for the rest of the world. This particular example found its niche in a rather unexpected place: Italian Group B rallying. Chassis number 710021 was built to Club Sport specifications with an internal roll cage in 1981 by Porsche Kundensport Dienst under the supervision of Gerd Schmeid, head of Kudensport Dienst and was sold directly to to Carlos Noce in Sassuolo, Italy. These cars had a list price of approximately 160,000 DM from Porsche, but Noce was given a special discounted price of 130,000 DM for the 924. Upon the car’s arrival in Italy, Porsche and Noce’s racing team, Sportwagen, organised a promotional event which featured this car on display, photographs of which can be seen in the car’s history file. Under Noce's ownership, the car was entered in a handful of rallies in his native Italy from 1982 to 1983. Employing Teggi Graziano to prepare the car, Luigi Mazzoni as driver, and Adriano Castagnara as co-driver, it is known that the car competed in three events across the 1982 season, starting with the Rally Appennino Reggiano. Looking through the entry lists present in the car’s history file makes for some fascinating reading, as most cars entered in these events were Italian, with the 924 GTS Club Sport being a notable, weapons-grade, German outlier! Wearing race number 16, the 924 set out on the event which consisted of 338 kilometres of driving with 12 special stages. The pair finished 11th overall in addition to finishing 1st in class for the over 2.0-litre category in Group B. September of 1982 saw Mazzoni and Castagnara compete in two events: the Rally Alto Appennino Bolognese—Rally Petroniano and the Rally del Carso e Dei Colli Orientali. While the results remain unknown for the car’s participation in Rally Alto Appennino Bolognese—Rally Petroniano, the event program for the Rally del Carso showed that Mazzoni and Castagnara were entered under Scudiera Rennsport with race number 18, starting their first stage at 6:10 p.m. on 24 September. On the St. Leonardo special stage, the 924 finished in a four-way tie for 20th place, followed by finishing 28th at the Molino Vehhio stage, 29th at the Rucchin special stage. Despite these competitive results, the car failed to finish at the Podvarschis special stage, which lead to its retirement from the event. The only known event where the car competed in 1983 was in April’s Rally Città di Modena. Wearing race number 15 and entered under the banner of Livorno Corse. Six special stages and 371 kilometres of rallying awaited cars, drivers, navigators, and rally fans alike. One hundred and eighty-four participants started with 163 finishers classified, and the team of Mazzoni and Castagnara had a highly impressive performance, finishing 10th overall. Following the 924’s retirement from racing, it was purchased by Luigi Mazzoni and used for a short period on the road by Luigi Mazzoni before it was sold. Remaining in Italy for a number of years, according to the curent owner, he acquired it from the personal collection of Gabriele Candrini in Modena in February of 2000, who had previously acquired the car from the well-known Porsche racing driver Piero Caronni. Subsequently imported to Norway, where it remains registered today, the car was used in a handful of track days from 2000 to 2002. Upon encountering engine issues on a track day in 2002, the car was parked in the owner’s warehouse for the following 21 years, before it was decided to perform a sympathetic recommissioning in January 2022. Seeking to preserve the car’s rally patina yet return it to top condition mechanically, careful attention was paid to present the car at its very best. The livery from its last recorded event, the 1983 Rally Nazionale 12 Coppa Citta di Modena, has been replicated and reapplied to the car. It is important to note that the car’s engine was reconfigured to wet-sump specification; the block fitted is an earlier unit of the correct type and is thought that this was replaced during its competition career. Importantly, the car is accompanied by a number of spares, including the original steering wheel, the car’s original VHF radio for rally use (in addition to a second radio and Peltor headset), tool kit, original lightweight aluminium jack, and spare wheel. With only 15 examples of the 924 Carrera GTS Club Sport built coupled with the understanding that approximately four GTSs competed in Group B rallies in period, this is a standout car. For the next owner, a raft of amazing opportunities awaits, including display at Porsche events or participation in a wide variety of shows and events worldwide. 1981 Porsche 924 GTS Clubsport 'Group B' RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1985 Peugeot 205 T16

There are many records in the elite realm of Group B, however it is the Peugeot 205 T16 which enjoys the most rarified air - it is the only Group B rally car to win back-to-back World Rally Championships. Homologation efforts for Peugeot’s Group B rally car began with the humble 205, building 200 of the road-going 205 T16’s, with an overwhelming majority painted in gray. Retaining the Group B monster’s 200HP mid-engine four-wheel-drive layout, a lightweight tubular spaceframe, glass-fiber bodywork, and race-bred center differential, the road-going homologation special was renowned for spritely handling characteristics. Chassis 177 stands alone amongst the crowd of gray 205 T16’s, as it was the only car delivered in black from new at the behest of its original owner. The car was delivered in January of 1986 to its’ first owner, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the former Prime Minister of Qatar. Ever fond of his highly unique 205 T16, Al-Thani would retain ownership of the car until 2007, diligently maintaining it as evidenced by the quantities of service stamps issued in period by Peugeot Warwick Wright of Chiswick, London. The second custodian of Chassis 177 would retain ownership until December of 2012 and seldom use the car, only adding 28km to the odometer before exchanging hands once again. Recognizing the highly significant nature of chassis 177, the final UK owner went on to exhibit the car at a number of high-profile events, such as Salon Prive, before 177 would move to the United States in early 2022 when acquired by a highly esteemed American collector. Having resided in the UK for a vast majority of its life, and been pampered at no expenses spared, chassis 177 is a fantastic example of Peugeot’s Group B homologation efforts. 177 has covered a mere 8,600km from new while carrying a pedigree worthy of royalty, backed up by a substantially thorough history dossier. Presenting beautifully today in original condition, and driving the part, 177 is poised to be a crucial cornerstone of any discerning collection. 1985 Peugeot 205 T16 The Cultivated Collector LLC If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. First registration 06.1954 Swiss delivery Swiss road registration with veteran entry Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint – short and sweet, elegant and fast. The rare Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS offered here is a series II. The car was over 23 years in the last and before that 32 years in the same ownership. This beautiful Super Sprint was fully restored a few years ago at the last owner including engine and body very elaborately. A photo documentation testifies to the various works. The vehicle is a Swiss delivery and veteran-approved. It is in exceptional, top maintained collector condition. Between 1951 and 1958, Carrozzeria Touring produced a coupe based on the shortened chassis of the Alfa Romeo 1900, first called Sprint, then Super Sprint. These cars were given the abbreviation 1900C for corto (short wheelbase) and the suffix S or SS. With the model change to the Super version, the models were revised and therefore a distinction was made between a first and a second series. Despite the low number of cylinders compared to the competition, the elegant coupé was able to compete in the market with the greats of the time from Fiat (8V), Lancia (Aurelia B20 GT), Jaguar (XK 140) or Porsche (356). However, it was almost as expensive as a 300 SL and therefore remained rare. 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900C SS Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO 3

THE GTO RETURNS By 1984, the words “Gran Turismo Omologata” carried enormous weight in the Ferrari world. Since 1962, the 250 GTO had been considered the finest sports racer that Ferrari had ever produced. With an astonishing racing record—rivalled only by its sensational driving dynamics—the GTO was cemented into sports car lore as nothing short of a legend. For Ferrari to revive such a legendary moniker, any new GTO would be expected to match or surpass the 250’s incredible record in motorsport. Seeking to contend in the notorious FIA Group B, Ferrari developed and produced the GTO to homologate the model for competition within that series; this called for a production run of 200 cars. Group B was incredibly popular following its introduction in the 1980s, especially in Europe, and Ferrari was eager to jump into the fray—and Maranello was certain that its car would be unmatched in competition. However, Group B was canceled shortly thereafter, leaving the factory with a fully developed and homologated car but no series in which to compete. It was clear that the public was eager to experience Ferrari’s newest no-compromises supercar, and the GTO was certainly not going to disappoint the brand’s fans or customers—even without a spot on the grid. While it shared visual cues with the 308 and 328, there was no denying that the 288 GTO (as it was later dubbed) was more special than its siblings. Visually it held a more aggressive stance, with composite and Kevlar forming the majority of the bodywork. The doors and deck lid were formed from lightweight aluminum, with an imposing shape that hinted at its prodigious performance. The race-bred 2.8-liter V-8 engine with its twin IHI turbochargers pumped out a monstrous 400 horsepower and 366 pound-feet of torque. The 288 GTO could rocket to a top speed of 189 mph, making it the fastest road car ever produced at the time of its unveiling. Its acceleration was equally impressive, and the car could reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds and 100 mph in 10.2—fast enough to keep everything short of a fighter jet in its rearview mirror. Performance aside, the GTO’s interior was graced with a host of modern amenities. The Kevlar-framed bucket seats were lined in leather, and buyers could request air conditioning, electric windows, and an AM/FM radio/cassette stereo as optional extras. Other than those few comforts, the GTO offered nothing to distract the driver from the task at hand. The new GTO clearly resonated with Ferrari’s clientele, as 272 examples were built by the time production ceased (which was over 25 per cent more than the amount required for FIA Group B homologation). The GTO was the first in the lineage of modern Ferrari supercars, and it remains incredibly rare, seldom seen on the road and even less frequently offered for public sale. CHASSIS NUMBER 56773 The example on offer, chassis 56773, is one of the 272 Ferrari 288 GTOs built from 1984 to 1985. It left the factory on 3 May 1985, finished in Rosso Corsa, with the cabin upholstered in black leather; its “Daytona”-style seats featured optional red cloth inserts. Destined for the United States, chassis 56773 was equipped with air-conditioning and power windows but without a radio, a nod to the racing DNA of the model. Following the federalization process carried out by the North American Ferrari agent, the car successfully arrived in Illinois at the supplying dealer, Lake Forest Sportscars. There, this 288 GTO was sold new to its first owner, Donald Schaff, who resided in Florida. Per the accompanying Ferrari Warranty Card, Mr. Schaff took delivery of his new car on 10 June 1985. Chassis 56773 led a quiet early life and by August 1991 was offered for sale by Walnut Creek Ferrari in California, where the odometer reading was noted as 3,388 km. By 1993 chassis 56773 had changed hands and is mentioned by the Ferrari expert Marcel Massini in his report as being sold in April to Cavallino Imports of Dixie Hills, New York. This 288 GTO then entered the possession of the third owner, Mr. Dennis Farrey of Dani Investments in San Carlos, California sometime in 1996. Farrey retained chassis 56773 for four years, before offering the car for sale in the Ferrari Market Letter on 8 April 2000, stating the odometer reading was 4,517 km. The car was subsequently sold to the fourth owner in 2001. Under this ownership the car experienced regular service attention with corresponding mileage documentation. Detailed invoices are available on file, with a major service completed on 31 July 2020. More than $18,000 was spent at Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale, Illinois as all the fluids were drained and replaced, while at the same time, a cambelt service was carried out, and a new water pump and spark plugs installed. The final task completed was having a set of four new Pirelli P Zero tires mounted to the wheels, with the invoice noting that chassis 56773 had covered 7,815 km at the point of service. Chassis 56773’s most recent service took place at Continental Auto Sports on 31 January 2022, comprising an oil and brake fluid change and replacement of the oil pressure gauge sensor. Importantly, at this time 56773 has earned its Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming it to be a full matching-numbers example, speaking to its well-preserved and factory-correct state. During the car’s original federalization, the speedometer face was converted to display in miles, however, the odometer calibration remained in kilometers. As a required component of the Classiche Certification process, a speedometer unit with the correct kilometer-indicating face was sourced and fitted; as noted on the 22 August 2022 Continental Auto Sports invoice on file. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright THE GTO RETURNS By 1984, the words “Gran Turismo Omologata” carried enormous weight in the Ferrari world. Displaying just 7,989 km (~4,965 miles) at the time of cataloguing, this 1985 288 GTO represents an extremely rare and exciting opportunity to acquire a premium example of one of Ferrari’s most desirable road cars. The “Most Iconic” Mercedes-Benz ever to be produced Only 2 owners over the course of 68 years Extensive documented history since new San Francisco Bay Area California car since new 1 of 867 made in 1955. 1 of 1,400 Gullwings made during entire 4-year production Matching numbers engine - 3.0L inline-6 engine with 215HP Original color combo according to factory build record Books, tool roll, jack, and spare wheel/tire Extensive owner documentation and detailed notes back to 1955 Fitted original Karl Baisch luggage set, wooden Nardi-style steering wheel Very few cars exude the same level of class, desirability, and recognizability of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, a constant contender in timeless design. With its long swooping hood, perfect curves, iconic upward-opening doors, and a body design that is considered to be this day the epitome of style, the 300SL Gullwing has aged remarkably well. A lasting favorite among automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike, the 300SL Gullwing is considered one of the most legendary automobiles to have been created. With only 1,400 examples built in the 4-year time period that it was offered, only a few lucky individuals with the wherewithal were able to enjoy what Mercedes-Benz created. This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing was originally purchased by Dr. Glen Smith Harman of Monte Sereno, CA in December of 1955 along with a Mercedes-Benz 300S on the same day. A physician servicing the San Francisco Bay Area, this particular doctor had a unique relationship with the Canepa family: he was Bruce’s father’s close personal friend. Angelo Canepa and Dr. Harman were extremely close friends. So much so that when Dr. Harman’s extremely rare 40ft all-mahogany Stephens Brothers sail boat was docked next to Angelo’s own boat, the pair would work on their boats, go sailing, and do boating activities together every weekend. They even traveled together frequently with their wives on vacation. Bruce Canepa recalls seeing the 300SL for the first time parked in Dr. Harman’s designated spot in the harbor parking lot at the age of 12, and has personally known this car since the early 1960s. Dr. Harman enjoyed his 300SL regularly and as much as he could, indicated by the service book stubs which show 44,000 miles by the end of the 1950s. By the end of 1967, that number had grown to over 130,000 miles, possibly being one of the most-driven 300SL Gullwings at that time. As is the nature of many doctors who take fastidious notes, Dr. Harman was no different. Records of services performed along with hundreds of receipts for factory parts purchased, no matter how small or large, from his local Mercedes-Benz dealership over the course of his decades-long ownership. His notes were compiled chronologically, with procedures and technical tips handwritten that rival the factory’s own manuals. Dr. Harman ensured that the 300SL was treated to exceptional care throughout his ownership, mirroring his commitment to his patients. An engine rebuild was performed in 1973 by regional 300SL expert Rudi Geipel. In 1986 the Gullwing was treated to a respray of its original White (DB 50) color, and records show that the exterior chrome was replated during this time period. Throughout his ownership, his own records indicate that he was a complete Mercedes-Benz owner who valued proper maintenance and keeping his car in exceptional condition, both mechanical and cosmetic, and enjoyed it fully until his passing in 1999. 4 years after Dr. Harman's passing, his wife Lillian decided that it was time for the 300SL to be enjoyed by another member of the community. Wanting to ensure that it was treated with the same respect, care, and enjoyed properly, she hand picked its next owner. A nearby Gull Wing Group member and accomplished mechanic, Robert West, was chosen and became the car’s next caretaker for the next 2 decades. Within his family he had a standing order to not wear shoes inside of the car, and that each family member knew to not close the doors, hood, or trunk lid from more than 6” high. West’s door seal alignment allowed for gentle soft closure of the panels, a “if you know you know” quality test of the proper alignment of the doors and seals. Upon arriving at Canepa this 300SL was given a complete and extremely thorough inspection, going through every mechanical system and cosmetic surface. After a lengthy visual, mechanical inspection, and extended test drives, Canepa initiated the “Canepa Difference” process on the Gullwing. All mechanical items were addressed, whether a component or system needed repairing or restoring, back to factory or better-than-new condition, to ensure perfect drivability for the next 100,000 miles of driving. The aerodynamic belly pans were removed and the 300SL was treated to a complete concours-level detailing of the underside. Once completed, the topside of the car including the engine bay, interior, and trunk areas were cleaned in extreme detail. Lastly, the DB 50 White paint was polished to a fantastic sheen using only foam pads and polish. After all work was completed, the “Canepa Difference” process invested over $100,000 over more than 8 months to bring it to Gullwing perfection. Legendary cars can be something more than just a mechanical mix of components that get you from point A to B, and this 300SL was as much a family member as it was a car. While many owners drove their Mercedes-Benz Gullwing short distances to not add miles, Dr. Harman did quite the opposite and enjoyed the car for literally over 130,000 miles in his personal 44 year ownership, to be passed onto another like-minded owner who kept the car in excellent condition. And after 68 years with just three owners, and Canepa’s recent sympathetic restoration and servicing, this 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing is ready for another half a century of enjoyment. About the 300SL Gullwing The 300SL has become a staple of many collectors “must have” items in automotive collections, despite the Gullwing starting from humble beginnings from an educated bet of a single person: Max Hoffman. Hoffman was Mercedes-Benz’s authorized United States importer in the early 1950s. He also was/would become the importer for BMW, Alfa Romeo, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Jaguar. He correctly guessed that the American public (specifically those with the wherewithal) were looking for a luxury car that also had lots of performance. Max’s bet proved to be correct, with Mercedes-Benz making 1,400 examples of the Gullwing, selling nearly 80% of them to American buyers. Considered a resounding success, when the 300SL was released it was considered the best sports car of its era. The 300SL Gullwing succeeded because it was able to do two things well, not just one. A full-blown luxury car along with a record-breaking high-performance sports car, the Gullwing provided huge performance in a luxurious package. With its dry-sump 3.0-liter engine producing 240hp via mechanical fuel injection and its low-drag bodywork made it capable of reaching 163 miles per hour. In today’s speeds this doesn’t seem high, but this was 65 years ago where many cars barely went past 100 miles an hour! A 4-speed manual transmission kept the driver engaged, and the cabin inside was appointed like what you expected from a halo model from Mercedes-Benz. They were luxurious, designed well, and were swathed in the best materials to remind you that you were driving something special. For all of this luxury and performance the price didn’t come cheap, with the 300SL Gullwing ringing in at $6,820 in 1954, although would be considered a bargain in 2020 money at $65,359! One of the most unique features of the 300SL was the use of a tubular frame like many of the race cars of the era. Designed specifically for strength while reducing the amount of weight, it ensured that each car had an immense amount of stability upon high-performance maneuvers. The added plus of being able to design an entire chassis in this way was ensuring that the center of gravity was lower and towards the middle of the car, improving handling. 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1969 Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF 'Fanalone'

The Fulvia’s influence on rally racing cannot be understated. At the peak of its evolution before replacement by the Stratos HF in 1974, the 1.6-litre HF (High Fidelity) car, bearing the name of HF Squadra Corse, gave Lancia the means in which to win multiple European Rally Championships races from 1970 to 1972. This was followed by topping the latter year’s International Championship for Manufacturers; a second Makes championship win followed two years later in the revamped World Rally Championship. As an ultimate road car, the Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF had few contenders. A 75 millimetre stroke and 82 millimetre bore gave Lancia’s engineers a 1,584 cc engine, enough to make 114 brake horsepower with a 10.5:1 compression ratio; 135 brake horsepower (and later 165 brake horsepower) was soon possible thanks to larger twin 45 millimetre carburettors, greater camshafts, and higher compression pistons. Nicknamed ‘Fanalone’ owing to its larger-than-standard inner-spotlights, this particular 1.6 HF was delivered in August 1969 to a Mr Carranza Amedeo D'Inzillo through Andrea Martin Agostini, the Lancia concessionaria in Catanzaro, Italy. Originally wearing the registration “84927 CS”, it was re-registered as “Y64174” by 13 May 1981, as D’Inzillo had sold the car to its next owner in Rome. Its most recent registration was issued in 1986, to a Pietro Ghisoni, and has stayed with the car since. Two generations of Ghisoni had restoration work performed on the car, in 1988 and 1995, comprising a respray, retrim, and mechanical work, documented in the service history (available to view on file). During the rebuild, the black interior was retained while the exterior was sprayed in Grigio Escoli Metallizzato, a grey metallic hue popular on later Fulvia Coupés. It later came to be owned by The Sportiva Collection in 2020. This attractive Fulvia is a mouthwatering prospect for those captivated by Lancia’s rallying exploits. It is offered for sale with a toolkit, an impressive history file documenting its restoration and Italian ownership chain, further to paperwork from Automotoclub Storico Italia and a Certificato di Identità issued by the Lancia Club. 1969 Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.6 HF 'Fanalone' RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. At the peak of its evolution before replacement by the Stratos HF in 1974, the 1.6-litre HF (High Fidelity) car, bearing the name of HF Squadra Corse, gave Lancia the means in which to win multiple European Rally Championships races from 1970 to 1972. • 1995 Ferrari F512 M

A nod to the old and the new ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ From a design point of view, there are countless arguments to support this. Take the Fender Stratocaster, the Eames Lounge Chair and the Hermés Birkin bag, for example. In the car world, too… just look at the Porsche 911. Back in the 1980s, though, the 911 – and just about every other red-blooded sports car – was overshadowed by another: the Ferrari Testarossa. For us, it’s the poster car of the era, that straked Pininfarina design capturing the collective imagination so vividly. Ferrari clearly comprehended the value of the Testarossa’s aesthetic appeal. So much so that it built two subsequent iterations retaining Pininfarina’s fundamental design, the 512 TR and the F512 M, and produced them until 1996 – a whopping 12 years after the original Testarossa was introduced in 1984. With the F512 M accounting for only 501 of the circa-10,000 Testarossa models built in total, it is by far the rarest and thus most desirable. The production numbers are just the start, though, when it comes to the F512 M (denoting Modificata). In extensively modernising the car, both from technological and aerodynamic perspectives, Ferrari finally built a package truly worthy of the Testarossa’s revered design. “In extensively modernising the car, both from technological and aerodynamic perspectives, Ferrari finally built a package truly worthy of the Testarossa’s revered design.” While the soul-stirring flat-12 engine’s power increase to 440HP and the introduction of a gas-filled suspension system did wonders to transform the driving experience, it was the myriad upgrades with a view to enhancing the refinement of the car that made the greatest difference. The air-conditioning, fixed homofocal headlights, F355 seats and the clever ABS braking system, for example, were worth far more than the sum of their parts. Chassis no. 101899 The United Kingdom’s flagship Ferrari dealer Maranello Concessionaires delivered this F512 M to its first owner in November of 1995. One of only 41 right-hand-drive examples destined for the British market, chassis no. 101899 is finished in the timeless colour combination of Rosso Corsa over a Crema interior with contrasting Rosso carpets. The 19 years that followed tell a story of infrequent use and fastidious maintenance, as evidenced in the five accompanying history binders charting chassis no. 101899’s life. Having always remained in the United Kingdom, this F512 M’s handful of subsequent owners have covered a mere 9,289 miles to date. Between 1999 and 2015, maintenance of this car was handled exclusively by the Midlands-based Official Ferrari Service Centre Graypaul. And as you would expect from such diligent owners, the complete Ferrari and original factory tool kit and leather documents pouch (including the all-important warranty card) and spare key remain with the car. With regards to servicing, August of 2024 saw chassis no. 101899 have a raft of major components replaced, including the fuel tanks, fuel pumps, complete clutch, cam cover gaskets and exhaust silencer and gaskets. In addition, the brake calipers and the bonnet struts were overhauled. Further, in November, the Official Ferrari Service Centre JCT600 treated all the cabin’s plastic switchgear, which is known to go sticky with age, and conolised the sumptuous Crema leather upholstery. Needless to say, this F512 M presents in a manner commensurate with its story. The condition is top-tier, with only a handful of near-imperceptible imperfections to the paintwork and a tiny spot of delamination to the windscreen surround, while the interior shows only minor signs of wear to the upholstery, as you’d envisage from a car that’s covered fewer than 10,000 miles. With rarity on its side, a core design that can’t help but bring out your inner 10-year-old, and a driving experience that retains the thrill of the original Testarossa, yet is firmly in the modern age in terms of refinement, the F512 M is a curious blend of history, charm and technology. In fact, we think it’s a car worthy of every great Ferrari collection. As clichéd as it sounds, chassis no. 101899 is a car you need to see in the metal to truly appreciate its excellent condition. It’s currently located here at our Oxfordshire headquarters and is available for viewings on appointment.
