  • 1984 Jaguar XJS TWR Group A Ex-Walkinshaw Percy Brundle

In late 1981 Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) was involved in an evaluation programme for Jaguar Cars after secret meetings at the famous Browns Lane headquarters in Coventry. These meetings centred on the proposal by Tom Walkinshaw to run a team of XJS’s in the new Group A regulations of the 1982 European Touring Car Championship (ETCC). TWR were at that time as both the largest and most successful touring car team in Britain. Over the course of three years, TWR built seven Group A Jaguar XJS race cars with our car being chassis TWR JC 84A005. The car made its competition debut in 1984 at Zolder where it was driven by Win Percy and team co-owner Chuck Nicholson, immediately quick with a 3rd on the grid. Next up was Mugello where 005 was convincingly on pole with Percy and new superstar F1 driver and future Jaguar Le Mans winner, Martin Brundle. Unfortunately a puncture would rob them of victory. Jaguar were happy though as TWR had taken them to the 1984 ETCC crown, beating the best from the Austin Rover, BMW, Volvo and Alfa Romeo factory teams. Shortly after Mugello, the car was hastily painted in the famous John Player Special black and gold livery and shipped to Macau where Walkinshaw took the car to victory in the Group A ‘Guia’ race supporting the famous annual Macau GP for Formula 3 cars, long considered the launch pad of many Formula 1 careers including Ayrton Senna. For 1985, chassis 005 would then go onto tackle the legendary Bathurst 1000 as part of the factory Jaguar squad. Running the number 9 on the door, Allam and Dickson were on the front row in qualifying and swapping the lead until engine gremlins confined them to the pits. The car would stay out in the southern hemisphere though racing in Japan and New Zealand – making it the last ever TWR XJS to race internationally, and therefore the most developed of them all. The car will be delivered race-ready having just benefitted from a refresh and upgrade to the engine at Moto Historics, with no regard to costs. As one of only 4 genuine TWR XJS Group A cars in existence, chassis 005 will be as welcome at the Goodwood Festival of Speed as it will be at the sharp end of MRL's Historic Touring Car Challenge. It would also be a potential winner in Peter Auto's HTC, and comes with a useful spares package. 1984: Zolder - DNF - Nicholson, Percy (3rd on the grid, water pump failure in race) Mugello - DNF - Percy, Brundle (POLE position, puncture in race) Macau GP – POLE and 1st OVERALL - Walkinshaw (the car was repainted in John Player Special colours for the race) 1985: Bathurst - DNF - Allam, Dickson (2nd on the grid, engine problem in the race) 1986: Fuji - DNF - Walkinshaw, Percy (POLE, oil pressure in race) 1987: Wellington NZ – DNF – Walkinshaw, Percy (diff) Pukekohe NZ – 2nd overall – Percy, Hahne (3rd in Qualifying, 2nd overall in race) Spares include: Dedicated tool box full of specific XJS TWR parts, running equipment. 18 wheels Crate full of engine parts, with the major components to build a spare engine Suspension Propshaft Brakes 105db Exhaust Water-cooled brake assembly 1984 Jaguar XJS TWR Group A Ex-Walkinshaw Percy Brundle Duncan Hamilton Rofgo Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV

Penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, the 105’s clean and distinctive design is one of the most attractive small coupes of the 1960s and 70s. The 1750 GTV was the first evolution of the original design and benefited from Alfa Romeo’s larger 1779cc engine in addition to many other updates and modifications including to the chassis, suspension and brakes. It made for a much better driving car particularly at higher touring speeds and ensured the cars performance was better than many sports cars of the era. Arguably the ‘1750’ motor is regarded by enthusiasts as the one to have given its combination of power, torque and free revving nature. Externally the 1750 GTV also departed from the earlier cars with a new nose styling incorporating a revised grill with four headlamps. Our example is an early Series 1 model delivered in April 1968 to Pymble NSW, as confirmed by the Certificate of Origin which accompanies the car. It has been in the ownership of known ‘Alfisti’ who have kept it in wonderful order. The current owner acquired the car in 2006 and commenced a restoration in 2009. The car was then completed and registered in 2018 and has covered under 2,000 miles since that time. During the restoration the car underwent a back to metal repaint, extensive mechanical and electrical work. It still presents extremely well to this day. The body is in very good all-round condition with minimal panel work being required once the paint was removed. There are some stone chips and marks on the body due to age, but none are significant. The car had a colour change by its previous owner to red from its original Biancospino but it suits the car well. The interior is in the original Nero. All the stainless steel brightwork is in wonderful order and sets the car off beautifully. The wheels although from a later model 2000 GTV are refurbished and are in perfect condition. The interior is just lovely with everything as it should be. An unmarked steering wheel greets you and the dash and dials are something that just looks perfect to the eye. The dash has been restored at some point and the current dash pad is well made and is a practical addition. The desirable ‘flying buttress’ seats have been reupholstered and are just a lovely feature. The instrument binnacle looks spot on with only a little frosting to the rev counter cover, but this is being picky. The headlining is fresh and perfect to the eye. The timber veneer to the centre console is not original but a good match and is well fitted. The carpets are new and unmarked. Turn the key and the engine fires up to a familiar Alfa growl. Out on the open road this car is just superb. The gearbox is excellent with no issues with the synchro’s. It is accurate, smooth, and quick to work through the gears and using it is quite addictive. The engine is responsive and pulls extremely well benefiting from the carbs being rebuilt and tuned. The engine bay is clean and largely original. The boot is excellent and lined with carpet. These 105’s are great driver’s cars, and we can see why they are so sought after. Freshly restored cars are still fetching well north of $100,000 and this car represents good buying. The car will be serviced and ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV Сlassic Сar Market If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1985 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6

Revealed in 1972, Giorgetto Giugiaro’s striking Alfetta fastback wedge design directly resulted from the challenging brief of delivering a replacement for Alfa Romeo’s successful predecessor being the 105 series car. The final design wowed the public and its stunning looks are as beautiful today as they were some fifty years ago. Alfetta “little Alfa” in Italian, derived its name from the nickname of the 1951 Formula One Tipo 159 Alfetta which also paired a transaxle layout to De Dion tube rear suspension. The rear De Dion transaxle (clutch and transmission) provided the new Alfetta with excellent weight distribution and lower centre of gravity, with these handling advantages widely acknowledged by the motoring press. The transaxle design, in combination with a Watt’s parallelogram linkage, inboard rear brakes and a well-located De Dion rear suspension, resulted in balanced traction and handling. The front suspension design was unusual in that it incorporated independent longitudinal torsion bar springs acting directly onto the lower wishbones and with separate dampers. Overall, it was a sophisticated and progressive set-up and one that delivered outstanding results when the Alfetta went into competition. During its life, it won events and championships across the globe both on track and in rally guise. They continue to successfully compete to this today in classic race events. When launched the Alfetta GT was powered by the 1.8 litre version of the Alfa DOHC four (taken from the previous 105 series cars). In 1976 this was discontinued in favour of 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre options. Over the subsequent years several updates were made to both engines and the appearance of the cars. In late 1980 Alfa Romeo coupled the cars excellent handling with its legendary V6 ‘Busso’ engine and the GTV 6 2.5 was born. The V6 received rave reviews and it found its true home in the GTV 6’s striking body where it could demonstrate its ample capabilities underlined with its race successes. Indeed, it won the European Touring Car Championship an unprecedented fours year in a row (1982-85), the British Touring Car Championship in 1983 along with many other events across Europe. Incredibly it placed third in 1986 in a round of the World Rally Championship and at this point it was competing against the might of the Group B cars. More locally ,Colin Bond successfully campaigned the famous yellow Alfetta GTV6 at Bathurst and other significant events and as late as 1987, Greg Carr won the Australian Rally Championship with one. By this point the GTV6 cemented its position as an Alfa Romeo legend and its affection within the Alfa Romeo community is enduring. Our car; chassis 03003853. The current owner of this car is the former Test Cricketer Greg Ritchie, who has owned 4 Alfetta GTV’s and is fanatical about them. He purchased this car 7 years ago with the intention of fulfilling the lifelong ambition of taking a GTV6 to next level in terms of performance, comfort, and condition. He took the car which he’d owned for 2 years and then set about a full body restoration removing any corrosion and replacing with new metal where required. Originally silver, the car was repainted in correct Rosso 530. A full photographic record of this work accompanies the car. The paint shows some signs of wear with some stone chips to the front area and door edges. A sunroof is fitted however this has been sealed. The real focus was on the performance and a 3.0 V6 was sourced, completely rebuilt, and installed into the car. The performance of the motor was also improved, and the result is a car that is simply thrilling drive with an intoxicating engine note from its legendary ‘Busso’ V6. All work including the full engine rebuild was conducted by known specialists and this is documented. The interior was in excellent original order; however, the owner wished to improve the seating and sourced both front and rear seats in full leather. They are incredibly comfortable whilst the original ‘net’ head rests are a particularly appealing feature. Where required the gauges were restored and overall, the interior now presents extremely well, and is a lovely place to be. There is one small crack on the dash, but this is out of line of sight. The air-conditioning unit works perfectly and has been recently serviced. Every electrical item works as it should and even the clock keeps perfect time. Turn the key and the car starts with a familiar Alfa Romeo growl. Blip the throttle and the V6 provides its appealing tone. Out on the open road this car is exceptional and its lift in performance is very noticeable particularly in the mid-range where the additional torque is beneficial. When you push the ‘loud pedal’ this car really wants to go and keep going! Ordinarily the gearbox’s on GTV’s can be a little vague, however with recent work done this example it is precise and easy to work very quickly through the gears. Likewise, the brakes and steering are incredibly good, inspiring confidence when you want to push on. 1985 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 Сlassic Сar Market If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Revealed in 1972, Giorgetto Giugiaro’s striking Alfetta fastback wedge design directly resulted from the challenging brief of delivering a replacement for Alfa Romeo’s successful predecessor being the 105 series car. • 1957 Lancia B24S Aurelia Convertible

Stunningly conceived as a marvel of engineering, coupled with exquisite design, the Lancia Aurelia delivered what continues to be recognized as one of the most sensational sports car platforms of the golden era of Italian automobile design. Brimming with features that remained state of the art for decades to come, Lancia offered these advances years before competing rivals dared to advance their cars. The genius of the Aurelia began with Vittorio Jano’s near complete disregard for cost constraints, developing a race-derived 2,451cc OHV V6 hemispherical head engine topped by a single Weber 40 carburetor which delivered 118bhp at 5,300rpm. The 4-speed manual rear-mounted transaxle combined with sliding pillar fully independent front suspension and De Dion rear suspension resulted in excellent weight distribution while state of the art 4-wheel hydraulic braking (inboard at the rear) delivered sensational and competitive performance even for moderately skilled drivers. In competition settings, the Aurelia platform proved itself at many notable European competition venues, often besting more powerful competitors, due to the superior handling of the well-balanced Lancia. In addition to these features, the Aurelia was among the first to be fitted with radial tires. As much as the new was heralded for the dramatic performance elegantly captured by the Pinin Farina body design - modern and classic, a combination that continues to entice collectors and enthusiasts nearly 70 years later. The beautiful B24 body was crafted on a shortened wheelbase with clean lines unencumbered by excessive trim. The sleek fenders, low-mounted front and rear bumpers, a low-profile Lancia grille, and small doors, combined with the fluid fender lines and lightweight build philosophy, fulfilled the promise of performance and beauty. Built in limited numbers and rarer so today, a mere 521 B24 models were built. Production models were offered in both left and right- hand drive, reflected in the nomenclature as 'S' or B24S, for 'Sinistra' or left, rather than the commonly thought Spider designation. In addition to the significant improvements made in the model line after introduction in 1954, the convertible version improved on the spider version offering larger doors and delicately sculpted exterior door handles, a weather-proof convertible top, vent windows, and roll-up side windows. IN addition to these enhancements, the convertible also offered a vastly improved seating position and an improved gearbox and driveshaft over the spider variants. According to the 2019 Lancia Chassiche certificate, this beautiful Lancia B24S was completed September 12, 1957, finished in Grigio over Rosso interior. The certificate further identifies the chassis number, coach number, body number, front suspension number, and differential number, which are all present on the car. The certificate goes on to cite the engine number which “matches with the first equipment”. Though the earliest years of ownership are not yet known, the car was purchased in 1965 by an engineering student who recommissioned it after discovering it at a service station in need of repair. According to correspondences with a family member of the owner during this period, the intrepid engineer sent letters to Lancia inquiring about parts, eventually repairing it to good service. Though painted a different color at that time, the owner stripped the paint and refinished it in the original color using several coats of lacquer. In 1977, the car was advertised in Road & Track and was sold to its next owner, a Toronto, Canada resident who would amass 40+ years of ownership within his family. In 2015 the brake system was renewed including the rebuild of all four-wheel cylinders. The car remained in storage until sold to a dealer who sold it to the current owner in 2020. A set of Marchal driving lights were installed in 2020 and a new convertible top was installed in March 2022. Today this beautiful Lancia B24S presents as an authentic combination of long-term care and thoughtfully restrained restoration. The body and paint, refinished to a high level several years ago, remain very nice throughout with excellent coverage, displaying a smooth and glossy finish, showing only minor road chips indicative of the current and prior owner’s joy using the car as intended. Chrome finishes are excellent and, while some aspects of the restoration have settled over time, the car has uniformly mellowed to a very satisfying presentation. The finishes and exterior details have been executed with a high level of craftsmanship including very nice body panel gaps and excellent closures. A set of Marchal road lamps are mounted to the front bumper, adding to the performance nature of these cars. The car sits on correct Michelin X 165R400 radials, one of the first production cars to offer radial tires as standard equipment. The wheels are properly finished with beautifully polished trim rings and wheel covers bearing the embossed Lancia name. The curved single piece windshield is clear and unmarked, while the side glass (still retaining date coded Sekurit etching) raises and lowers smoothly, and the vent windows pivot out properly. The gorgeous black canvas convertible top was professionally restored in March 2022 using correct high-quality canvas including a sewn-in crystal-clear rear window. Inside the car, a rewarding combination of preservation grade finishes and gently aged interior features creates a very pleasant interior reflective of the years this car has been enjoyed by passionate enthusiasts. The dashboard and instrumentation are exceptionally well maintained featuring correct, original large dial Jaeger gauges, authentic switches, proper finishes, and a warmly hued wooden rim steering wheel fronting the twin gauges. The red leather seats have been more recently reupholstered, using just the right amount of inner bolster support, sewn with correctly pleated panels and piping. Door panels and inner panel coverings are nicely finished with proper fasteners and trim, including the chrome door pulls, chrome window cranks, and door latch handle. A set of red vintage style seatbelts have been added. The newly installed black canvas convertible top has excellent headliner, proper top bow fabric wrapping, and excellent latching mechanisms. The top raises and lowers with ease, latching tightly against the windscreen header. The carpeting is original to the car and remains quite nice, aided in preservation by a set of black and red coco mats. The trunk compartment houses a correct spare tire, factory blue jack, and inner lining materials that appear original including the correct diamond stitched panels and removable tire and battery access panels. The engine compartment is a wonderful combination of restored features and original components, many of which still bear their original finishes. The overall harmony of the engine is honest, authentic and in areas that have been refinished, they have been performed using correct factory finishes, proper wiring, and hoses, all of which have a combined patina befitting the history of this car. The engine is outfitted with the correct Weber DCL5 downdraft two-barrel carburetor, dual snorkel air intake, and the cooling system retains the rare metal radiator flap mechanism which operates under thermostatic control. Much care has been allowed to authentic surface treatments and correct finishes on the artfully exposed aluminum castings. The resulting combination of engineering excellence and enthusiastic interest in driving this car is exhibited in the heart of this wonderful Lancia, making lifting the hood an impressive statement of engineering prowess and decades of passionate motoring. The chassis has been nicely finished, though not to show standards, with correct and extremely rare original type dual exhaust and mufflers bearing proper finishes and coatings. No visual evidence of structural damage is evident which is consistent with the history recorded by the long-term family owner and subsequent owners. Engine and gearbox finned castings are in excellent condition as are the suspension components, inboard brakes, and other features. When studying the underside of this car, the remarkable artistry of Lancia engineering and cost-no-object directives of Vittorio Jano is evident even in the smallest details. Driving manners in this wonderful Lancia reflect the quality and care it has received by the previous and current owners. The smooth and satisfying driving experience is enhanced by looking over the twin fenders, centered by the lovely hood scoop, inviting the driver to imagine Italian countryside roads, wineries, and sunset arrival at a charming pensione. The sophisticated engineering, rear mounted 4spd transaxle and clutch, DeDion rear suspension, V6 Hemi head engine, with sodium cooled exhaust valves, and many other innovative features, all contribute to legendary performance and delightful driving. The car starts and runs quite well, with excellent throttle response. Oil pressure and running temperatures are excellent. The clutch and brakes operate as they should and no pulsating from the brakes. The gearbox works as expected, with no synchromesh issues, and a quiet first gear. The suspension and steering are generally good though the steering could benefit from adjustment. The car is accompanied by a factory jack, tool kit in tool roll, a Nardi twin carburetor performance kit including an intake, air cleaner, carburetor mounts, and various hardware, extensive photos and ownership documentation from the long-term family owners, and selected service records. ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED SPORTS CARS, COUPLED WITH EXCEPTIONAL ENGINEERING, THIS LANCIA B24S OFFERS A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY FOR THE NEXT FORTUNATE ENTHUSIAST TO ENJOY AND DRIVE A REMARKABLE EXAMPLE UNSPOILED BY THE RAVAGES OF TIME. Thoughtfully preserved with just the right amount of restoration and loving care, this Lancia is ready for the next fortunate owner to enjoy just as the talented and passionate craftsmen at Lancia intended for their distinguished clientele. Note: the car is currently titled as a 1958, even though it was produced as a 1957 model. 1957 Lancia B24S Aurelia Convertible Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1998 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta

Giallo Modena Over Nero Connolly Leather, Equipped With a 6-Speed Manual, Showing 22,658 Miles With Recent Belt Service. For many enthusiasts growing up in the 1990s, the Ferrari F355 was the ultimate sports car. Thanks to its stunning good looks, screaming flat-plane-crank V8 and sublime handling dynamics, the F355 betters the outgoing 348 in nearly every respect. The F355 was the bridge between the analog driver's cars Ferrari built its name on, and the more technically sophisticated cars they had in development, and to this day represents a very special place in the brand’s history. With significant input from current Ferrari boss Luca di Monezemolo, the F355 was designed to retain the spirit of Ferrari while instilling greater usability and practicality- two things that the company had put little emphasis on in the past. This 1998 Ferrari F355 GTB was sold new at Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo in Portland, Oregon, and delivered to its first owner in March of that year. Finished in what is arguably the ultimate F355 color of Giallo Modena, over black leather, this car looks absolutely stunning in person. This F355 has been under the care of just 4 owners from new but has moved around a fair bit, even recently spending some time in Europe under Norwegian registration. The mid-1990s were really a rebirth for Ferrari in the design department, after years of less than inspired styling choices, the F355 is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cars to come out of the company since the Dino went on sale in 1967. When new these cars were offered in 3 body styles, the Berlinetta like this one, a Spider, and a GTS with a removable targa-style top. To collectors these days, the Berlinetta and GTS are the cars to have but for the hardcore driving enthusiast, the hardtop reigns supreme. The interior of the F355 is beautiful in its simplicity. A pair of comfortable, nicely bolstered bucket seats are separated by a console that houses storage, buttons, and the all-important stainless shifter, protruding from its metal gate. Sitting in the driver’s seat, a pod with 4 deeply hooded gauges sits in front of you, with three more auxiliary gauges in the lower center of the dashboard. This car comes from an era before screens became prominent features inside Ferraris, giving it a timeless, classic look inside. The black leather-wrapped dashboard is in excellent condition- so frequently these cars suffer from shrinking leather but it has been addressed on this car and shows like the day it came out of the factory. Sitting right behind the passenger compartment is what sets the F355 apart from any other Ferrari- the screaming flat-plane-crank 3.5 liter V8. Although the base of the engine isn’t tremendously different from that found in the 348, the F355 features brand-new 5-valve heads that increase flow dramatically and allow for a redline of 8,500 rpm. Producing 375 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, the F355 is still fast today with a sub-5 second 0-60 mph time and a top speed in excess of 180 mph. But what it does better than almost any other roadgoing Ferrari is make noise- although it is relatively quiet and restrained at low RPMs, once the revs build the V8 noise turns into an F1 car-like shriek that to this day, is almost unbeatable at any price point. In 1997, Ferrari offered an F1 paddle-shift gearbox for the F355- the first system of its kind from Ferrari, the F1 gearbox quickly became the go-to choice for buyers. But ask anyone who has recently driven an F1-equipped car back-to-back with a manual gearbox example and the choice is easy. The classic gated manual is the only choice for F355 ownership and makes the driving experience just that much better while also significantly cutting down on service costs. Additionally, this car recently underwent an engine-out timing belt service at ISSIMI Meccanica meaning it is ready to get in and enjoy. It is easy to fall in love with an F355 by just looking at the body, but the appreciation for the car only grows once you get behind the wheel. This example is in excellent condition overall and when combined with the outstanding color combination, it truly fulfills the role of 1990s dream car. 1998 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1992 Subaru Legacy RS 'Group A'

With six wins out of six, Colin McRae and Derek Ringer won the 1992 RACMSA British Rally Championship in J314 PWL. Accurately returned to its period best by the McRae family and offered directly from them. A once in a lifetime opportunity. The remarkable career of Colin McRae MBE has filled volumes and is too long to list here, but it did include becoming Scottish Schoolboy Motocross Champion at 13, the Scottish Rally Championship in 1988, winning the 1991 and 1992 British Rally Championship and, in 1995 he became the first British driver and the youngest person to win the World Rally Championship Drivers title, a record which stood for 27 years. Success continued with a total of 25 wins in the WRC, a third place at Le Mans in the GTS Class, a win in the Baja 500 Portalegre, stage wins on the Dakar and many other rallies worldwide. Despite the passage of time, Colin McRae is still one of the biggest names in the world of rallying, the most recognised. Colin was an iconic figure at the time. “Everybody took a step back when they heard Colin driving. He was just using the road as a rough guide. His style and approach were something to watch. At one time he held the record for the most rally victories. His ‘never say die’ attitude, always flat out, it really sat with people and endeared him to them”. But people often forget that he was a mechanic, too. He worked well with engineers and understood how to set a car up and its mechanical limitations. He is frequently discussed in terms of his wild, aggressive style, but if you watched him drive on tarmac at Le Mans or ASCAR at Rockingham, he was really quite smooth. He won two Safari rallies, which takes a lot of mechanical empathy and an intelligent approach as to just how much you can get away with. Here at Silverstone Auctions, we feel truly privileged to have been entrusted by the McRae family with the sale of three of Colin’s favourite cars. They are significant cars in the history of rallying and will be available to view prior to our auction on Friday, August 25th. In 1991, Colin turned professional and was signed by Prodrive principal, David Richards CBE, to join his Subaru team in the British Rally Championship. 1991 was to prove a bit of a learning curve but a combination of his youthful exuberance and exceptional talent enabled him to add his name to the title his father had won five times in this, his first full season as a Works driver. For the 1992 British Rally Championship, a fresh Legacy RS, J314 PWL, was built by the factory Prodrive team to full International ‘Group A’ regulations with a Works 2.0-litre turbo boxer engine (with charge cooler) developing some 350bhp fed through a 6-speed Prodrive manual dog gearbox and the Prodrive 4-wheel drive system, once again generously supported by Rothmans and endowed with that iconic blue and white Rothmans livery, known to motorsport enthusiasts the world over. The 1992 RACMSA British Rally Championship was the 35th year of the British domestic championship and Colin and Derek Ringer in J314 PWL dominated the whole season with wins at the Vauxhall Sport International, the Pirelli International, the Perth International, the Elbow Ulster, the Manx in September and finally the Elonex International in late October. The Elonex was a particularly tough event running through the night and despite the fact that they were assured of the Championship even if they finished second, Colin was determined to win and complete a set of six. Starting the final stage at Weston Park, one second down on Tommi Makinen in the Nissan, he managed to take three seconds out of him in just under 2.5km. Having won all six rallies in J314 PWL, Colin was the first-ever driver to achieve a clean sweep of wins. This legendary rally car was restored around 15 years ago and has had very little use since. In terms of the restoration, the emphasis was on recreating the car as it looked during the all-conquering 1992 season and this was achieved with incredible attention to detail. The car is simply breathtaking in its presentation and is finished, of course, in its evocative original Rothmans livery. It’s fully complete and runs well but is not event-prepared and the safety equipment, seats and belts etc. are no longer current. The car has been looked over and checked by Ian Gwynne of BGM Sport in Brackley and is being stored by him until our sale at the Silverstone Classic on the 26th/27th of August. He is a friend of the McRae family and seriously interested parties are welcome to speak directly to Ian and view the car prior to the sale if they wish. This is very special, Colin’s 1992 British Championship-winning car and a personal favourite being offered to market for the first time directly from the McRae family, a unique opportunity. 1992 Subaru Legacy RS 'Group A' RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT

“Nothing is too beautiful, nothing too expensive.” After waiting four decades for the opportunity to resurrect Bugatti, which had shut up shop in 1952, the charismatic Italian businessman Romano Artioli followed the philosophy of the great French marque’s founder Ettore Bugatti to the letter when the time finally arose. In setting out to create the world’s fastest and most technologically advanced supercar, Artioli cut no corners. He negotiated with the French government for two years to buy the Bugatti trademark, spent a billion lire building the most magnificent avant-garde factory in the heart of Italy’s so-called ‘Motor Valley’, and poached the most talented designers and engineers from his new automotive neighbours in order to create his masterpiece from scratch and almost entirely in-house. The resulting EB110 (so named because it debuted on 14 September 1991, Ettore Bugatti’s 110th birthday) was a true technological tour de force. Its sleek body was started by Marcello Gandini and, bizarrely, finished by Artioli’s architect cousin. Beneath the theatrical glass engine lid resided a 3.5-litre, five-valve-per-cylinder, quad-turbocharged V12 that developed 550HP. And beneath that was an aerospace-grade carbon-fibre chassis. Refinement and useability were given equal priority to the dizzying performance (0–100kph in 3.2sec and 343kph flat-out), which gave the EB110 real-world versatility its rivals could only dream about. But despite its worldwide acclaim, the EB110’s star was only allowed to shine for a desperately short period of time. Amid a global financial downturn and, as Artioli claims, industrial sabotage, Bugatti Automobili was driven into financial ruin. Just 115 cars (including two racers) were completed before the company was declared bankrupt and the factory was sealed on 23 September 1995. It’s arguably one of motoring history’s biggest ‘what could have beens’ and Italy’s greatest forgotten supercar. This Bugatti EB110 GT The EB110 we’re offering is chassis number 39068, one of the 84 road-biased GT variants which left the Campogalliano factory between 1991 and 1995. The car was delivered new in 1994 to a collector in the Czech Republic via the dealer Zdenek-Auto, specified in the classic shade of Blu Bugatti with a special-order dual-tone grey interior. In 2001, having been acquired by a second collector in the Czech Republic, chassis number 39068 was serviced by Dauer in Nuremberg, Germany. By this point the car was fitted with a special rear panel between the taillights bearing the Bugatti emblem. This revised panel was slated for production, though the Campogalliano-based marque collapsed before that could happen. Dauer serviced this EB110 GT once again in August of 2002, the corresponding invoices totalling almost 56,000 euros. It wasn’t until 2012 when this Bugatti changed hands once again, returning to its native Italy to join the famous Treviso Collection of Pierluigi Compiani. Chassis number 39068 was subsequently sold by RM Sotheby’s and soon found a new home in Denmark. In 2017, with the mileage noted as 31,095km, the car was serviced by Bugatti’s customer service department. Girardo & Co. acquired chassis number 39068 in July of 2022, immediately delivering the car to the renowned Italian EB110 specialist and authority B-Engineering in Emilia-Romagna for a comprehensive service. We also had the Bugatti professionally detailed and photographed. Finished in the classic ‘launch specification’ with which the EB110 is most widely associated, this highly original and beautifully presented example is accompanied by its original user’s manual, Bugatti Automobili warranty and service booklet and multiple Dauer service invoices. The EB110 is a car that’s finally commanding the attention of collectors it’s long deserved. And chassis number 39068 is among the best of the ultra-rare breed. ! 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT Girardo & Co. As featured in a 8 page Article in 'Aston Martin Driver' Magazine - November 2022!
