There are many peaks in the life story of the Porsche 911. One of them refers to the car we are now proudly offering you: the 911 Turbo! This car was introduced to the public in 1974. The Turbo could clearly be recognised by its huge rear spoiler and the widened body. The first generation of this model, 3.0 litre/260 hp, is seen as the "Ur-Turbo" by many enthusiasts and collectors and is the most sought after example. The car at hand belongs this generation. On 30 June 1976, 9306700652 was registered with its first owner, Mr Schneider from Lübeck, Germany. A copy of the "Fahrzeugbrief" (a vehicle registration certificate) has been preserved. The amount of documentation that comes with the car maps the car's entire life journey. In 1985, the car switched ownership. The new owner, Steve Less from the USA, used the car sparingly. In fact, from 1986 to 1997, the car had no use at all. Then the car came into the hands of Mr J. Kupczyk, who was also based in the USA. He took well care of the car as borne out by the numerous invoice. In 2013, with a mileage of 41,723 km, the car returned to its country of origin. The new owner, Mr P. Scherer, ordered a very extensive technical revision. He invested tens of thousands of euros in the car. The extensive valuation report that was drawn up at the end of 2013 gave 9306700652 a "note 1" appreciation in all categories. In 2016, the car came to the Netherlands. An exceptionally beautiful car, but the engine had some issues. Given the car's excellent state, and its rich history, it was decided to embark on a complete overhaul of the engine. The invoice totalling 26,000 euros shows the work done in great detail. After this revision, the car covered only 500 km, and it will require some patience before the car's power can be fully put to use again. What we have to offer: A first generation, iconic "Ur 911 Turbo", certified by Porsche AG, fully matching (VIN, engine number, gear box, colour, interior) and fitted with a sliding roof. The lying parts were repainted, the other parts still have their original coating. The interior of the car has not been touched. The original manual and a wealth of invoices and documents describing the life of this spectacular car have been preserved. In short, a chance for drivers, collectors and investors alike! 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo Veni Vidi Vici Classic Cars BV If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1968 Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo Intercooler
In everyday life we often find that we should recalibrate our quality standards. Especially with vehicles from the 70s, 80s and 90s we are becoming more and more picky and looking for the famous "fly in the ointment". Unfortunately, we are increasingly reaching limits that either the manufacturer in question never reached when assembling the new car, or that the conscientious restorer could not improve despite all his care. This applies to both normal bread-and-butter cars that were never made to meet high standards, but also to luxury brands such as Ferrari, which, due to their intended future use, were notoriously never able to achieve the stoic suitability of a Porsche, BMW or other rivals. When, for example, have you seen a bright red Ferrari with winter tires and skis on the roof - driven boldly - driving up a snowy pass in the Dolomites? Or in a traffic jam during rush hour in the autumn rain? In the vast majority of cases, these thoroughbred Italian sports cars were driven under the very best conditions from the very first kilometer, never on salt roads in winter, never in the stress of everyday life. Most of the time, all inspections were carried out on time, because even in the regulars' table, it was becoming more and more common to hear that, for example, a neglected timing belt could result in a horrendously expensive engine overhaul that would hit any wallet hard. However, since practically all Ferraris from these years had a remarkable market development, these striking representatives of what is probably the world's most famous sports car manufacturer are more often stroked than driven. This may protect them visually, but from a technical point of view, these precious cars are often not doing themselves any favors. In addition to the regular exercise of such hot-blooded cars, regular maintenance is also important so that these automobiles convey to us all what makes them special - tamed racing cars with precision mechanics that are as fascinating as they are delicate, revving multi-cylinder high-performance engines, open gearshifts with gears that click into place like a signal box... You all know what I mean. Ferrari is pure fascination and a purely emotional, irrational matter of the heart. The global fan community is therefore committed to it, cheers for their brand at every Formula 1 race and celebrates every new model that is introduced accordingly. Enough chatting, now to our red, 8-cylinder highlight with a tiny 2000 cc displacement. Maybe we should start with this: Despite - or perhaps because of - the exceptionally well-preserved condition, an incredible € 57,000.00 was invested in this example over the last 11 years so that it would not be exposed when assessed by classicData specialists: result grade 1-, market value € 125,000. The reader should not draw hasty, completely wrong conclusions from this. This is by no means a particularly trouble-prone Monday car, but rather the case of 2 previous owners who wanted to turn one of the best-preserved examples of the 208 GTS turbo into probably the best one available. In our view, they succeeded, even if we don't know all of them on the market. What we can do, however, is to get a precise picture of the vehicle in front of us: the more we deal with this complex sports car, the more we realize that there is simply nothing left to improve on this Ferrari. After all, despite its extremely low total mileage, this vehicle is fast approaching 40 years of age. People tend to use the mileage of such a car as a key parameter of its current condition. In our view, however, the time factor is the far more important point. All of the components that make up such a vehicle are not designed and developed to last for decades. For example, every seal, regardless of material and quality, ages, becomes brittle, hard and therefore leaks. It doesn't matter whether it got old while standing or driving during this aging process. It just gets old... and the same goes for joints, cable sheaths, switches and many other components. Every car manufacturer wants to sell cars, both today and in many decades to come, which is why they build solid (not to be confused with immortal!) cars in the best case scenario, which age over the course of their use and will therefore be replaced at some point. So if a Ferrari is almost 40 years old in front of us, it has basically already had 2-3 car lives behind it. Accordingly, the expectations and demands should be placed on the original abilities - an older gentleman should no longer be forced to perform at his best... 1968 Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo Intercooler DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1975 De Tomaso Pantera Group 5
Swiss delivery FIA/HTP papers The extremely rare De Tomaso Pantera racing car offered here was delivered new to Switzerland to the racing driver Walter Friedrich. Friedrich had the Pantera converted to Group 5 by the De Tomaso factory and raced it in various hill climbs, including Oberhallau, La Roche and Gurnigel. The owner history in later years is well known. The car is very well documented and many documents such as the original order form, purchase invoice, work cards/workshop order from the De Tomaso factory as well as photos from the time are available. Also mentioned and described in two De Tomaso books is this desirable De Tomaso Pantera Group 5. The last owner optimized this Pantera Gr 5 again for historic racing. The correct 351 cu-in Ford Cleveland engine is equipped with dry sump lubrication and produces 523 hp according to the dyno. The transmission has been revised and fitted with ratios suitable for circuit racing. The entire chassis was also revised and adapted by means of new shock absorbers and springs, aluminum bushings, reinforced steering column and new brake system with adjustable balance. For endurance racing, in addition to the existing 75-liter tank, a 50-liter FT3 tank was mounted at the front. With optimized cooling, also for the brakes, stainless steel exhaust system (one loud and one silenced version), additional aluminum fenders, two sets of wheels (slick and rain) and currently valid FIA/HTP papers, this Pantera is a competitive bolide for future racing. 1975 De Tomaso Pantera Group 5 Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 1
Of all the great 1960s sports cars, few are as influential or as infamous as the legendary Shelby Cobra. A fortunate partnership between AC and their lightweight British sports car and Le Mans-winning driver Carroll Shelby resulted in the latest Ford lightweight V-8 sitting in the European fettled chassis of the Ace. The result of this transplant contributed enormously to Ford’s motorsport dominance of International Sports Car racing during the late 1960s. European chassis dynamics partnered with the power of the new V-8 meant that in competition trim, Cobras achieved an impressive record. The 260ci (4.2-litre) prototype first ran in January 1962, with production commencing later that year. Exclusively for the USA initially, Cobras - minus engines - were sent from England to be finished off by Shelby in California, and it was not until late in 1963 that AC Cars in Thames Ditton got around to building the first fully finished cars to European specification. After 75 cars had been built, the 289ci (4.7-litre) unit was standardised in 1963. Rack-and-pinion steering was the next major up-date; then in 1965 a new, stronger, coil-suspended chassis was introduced to accommodate Ford's 427ci (7.0-litre) V8, an engine that in race trim was capable of producing well in excess of 400bhp. Wider bodywork, extended wheelarch flares and a bigger radiator intake combined to create the definitive - and much copied - Cobra 427 look. This example was billed to Shelby American on the 14th May 1964 and shipped to the USA just twelve days later aboard the SS Diemerdyk, the first Holland America Line ship to be built after the war. The car was optioned new in Rouge Iris over Beige with the Class A accessories pack. The Class 'A' Accessories package added five chrome wire wheels, white wall tyres, luggage rack, outside rear-view mirror, an AM-FM radio, and antifreeze, and the car when new, totalled $5,800.05. It was supplied new by Shelby American to the Ford Motor Company in Michigan to used for sales promotion and PR. It would return to Shelby American in early 1965 at 5,177 miles to be prepared for sale. The car received a mechanical overhaul and a full repaint for an invoice totalling $720. These works took place over the course of a couple of months and the car was ready for its new owner in May 1965. Shelby American sold the car to Hi-Performance Motors in Los Angeles, less the hard top and wire wheels for just $1,000 less than list price. Hi-Performance would sell the car to Roger Moon of Paso Robles, a town halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The car would pass through Moon, to Ralph Bouchett and in the mid-1970s, to Tim Zurbriggen. It had been painted black and 5-spoke American Racing wheels were fitted. In 1979, the car was placed into storage. In 1983, the car was purchased by William ‘Billy’ & Christine Kincheloe of California. A comprehensive restoration of the car would take 9 years, the restoration would be carried out by Mike McCluskey of McCluskey Ltd. Having worked alongside Carroll Shelby restoring Cobras at the age of just 20, McCluskey would become the go-to name for their restoration in the USA and, despite originally parting ways with Shelby himself to set up his own business, it would be McCluskey Ltd whom Carroll Shelby would contact personally and task with the building of continuation Cobras in 1989. The restoration took time and no doubt the cost of the process played a role in slow progress. The Kincheloe’s were huge fans of the Cobra and American motorsport. Billy’s father had raced an Austin Healey 100/6 in the D-Class World Championship in 1960 and without doubt his passion and fastidious attention to detail would be passed down to the family line. The Kincheloe’s were immensely active socially in the Shelby American Automobile Club and the accompanying history file features a wealth of stickers, invitations, memorabilia, trophies and photographs from their time with the car. From when the car was completed in 1993 to when he parted ways with the Cobra in 2015, Billy kept a detailed logbook of each of his drives. This logbook accurately helps to date the wealth of photos and includes wonderful anecdotes and tales from his ownership. Billy and Christine affectionately named the Cobra ‘Ellen’. 03.01.1993 – Car arrives home after 10 yr rebuild - It rains for 13 consecutive days; the most rain LA’s had in 7 yrs! 21.01.1993 – Take car out for a small ride (to Prezzo to show off) 23.01.1993 – 2nd Ride …loads up, loves the freeway (3 miles) HAULS ASS- whew! – X H I L E R A T I N G!!! The logbook documents mileage, servicing and visits to events including the 1995 Ford Motor Company Mustang fantasy, where Billy proudly parked the Cobra alongside an attending guest: a P-51 Mustang. A further chance encounter in 1996 at Willow Springs saw the Cobra help introduce the Kincheloe’s to an active Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. 12.05.1996 – PS Met Lt/Col Bozek – HE FLIES THE SR71 @ Edwards. Invited me to come see ‘The Bird’ – a dream come true. Fortunately for us all, Billy took the Cobra to visit 'The Bird' and a wonderful photo was taken of the pair together. The last entry to the log notes the sale of the Cobra in 2016 to Marc Devis in Belgium. ‘A new adventure awaits, history continues, ‘Ellen’, thanks for the ride’. Shortly after its arrival in Belgium the car was sold to its current owner in the UK. Since 2016, this Cobra has been used sparingly covering just 500 miles since its arrival. Service work has been seen to by Steve Gilbey Classics, and the car will be inspected by our workshops as part of the sale. This fantastic Cobra is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately, ready to be used and enjoyed by its next custodian. 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 D.K. A masterpiece of the 1960s – built to last. The Maserati Sebring 3700 GTI is a fascinating and rare Italian Gran Turismo coupé from the 1960s. It represents the second series of the Sebring and combines classic craftsmanship with technical sophistication from motorsports. Today, the model is considered one of the most elegant examples of Italian GT design from that era. The Maserati Sebring offered here—the name evokes the victory at the 1957 12 Hours of Sebring, a pivotal chapter in Maserati’s racing history—belongs to the second series and is thus among the rarest Maserati GT models of the 1960s; estimates suggest that only about 130 units of the 3.7-liter model were ever built. This Maserati Sebring 3700 GTI, featuring a freshly overhauled cylinder head and having just undergone servicing, is in very original and good condition. Widely regarded as one of the finest post-war grand tourers, the Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Coupé combined timeless Paul Bracq styling with the marque’s first new-generation V8 engine. Built for less than two years, with just 3,270 examples produced, it represents the pinnacle of hand-built Mercedes craftsmanship. This example was delivered new in Germany in July 1970 and remained there for much of its life, including long-term single-family ownership. Between 2018 and 2020, it underwent a no-expense-spared, bare-shell restoration to concours standards. The body was stripped, repaired, and refinished in an elegant period-correct metallic hue, complemented by renewed chrome, replated brightwork, and refinished fastenings. Inside, the cabin was retrimmed in high-quality materials, with restored veneers and instruments presenting as new. Mechanically, the car is equally impressive. Its 3.5-litre V8 was overhauled by respected Mercedes specialist Peter Finkemeyer, with a complete rebuild including pistons, bearings, gaskets, and valve seats. Suspension, steering, braking, and fuel systems were all rebuilt, while the gearbox and rear axle were serviced and resealed. The result is a car that not only looks spectacular but also drives with the refinement and vigor expected of a freshly delivered 280 SE 3.5. Imported to the UK in 2021, the car has since been kept in a climate-controlled storage bubble, professionally detailed, and protected with Topaz Paint Protection Film under a 10-year warranty. Today, it presents in near-concours condition, with immaculate panel fit, flawless paintwork, and spotless underbody. 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1997 Ferrari 355 Spider
The Ferrari F355 was produced from May 1994 to 1999 as a heavily revised successor to the Ferrari 348. It used a 3.5 L 5V F129 B/C V8 engine, up from the 3.4 L of the 348. The new engine employed a 5-valve cylinder head that gave it a higher power output of 375 hp paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed F1 automated manual. The F355 also fixed transmission issues of earlier models by using a coolant heat exchanger to warm the gearbox oil quicker, as well as using a rod-driven actuation system for precise gear shifts. The Spider model was released in 1995 with the first electronic automated manual soft-top used on a Ferrari. The Spider was first offered solely with the 6-speed manual transmission before the 6-speed F1 automated manual was introduced as an option in 1997. A total of 3,717 examples were made, with 2,664 being equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission and 1,053 with the F1 automated manual transmission. This particular example, Chassis # ZFFXR48A7V0108665, was purchased on May 5th, 1997, from Ferrari of Dallas in Verde Mugello over a Tan leather interior. According to multiple sources, it is believed to be one of only 10 examples of this color exported to the United States. On November 19th of that same year, Ferrari of Dallas certified that the car’s 1,200 and 1,500-mile services had been completed. The car stayed with its first owner until 2002, when it was registered with its second owner in Shreveport, Louisiana, on September 16th. They drove the car from Texas to Shreveport per a 2004 receipt and had Foreign & Classic Auto Centre in Shreveport perform the 15,000-mile service at only 9,789 miles. On May 6th, 2004, the Ferrari was registered with its third owner at 10,488 miles in Irvine, California. Sometime later, they consigned it with Newport European in Newport Beach, CA, from where it was sold to a dealer based out of PA/NH with a collection in VA on July 12th, 2005. On August 3rd of that same year, it was titled to the dealer at 13,188 miles in Blue Bell, PA. On October 14th, 2005, both catalytic converters, O2 sensors, and parking brake shoes were replaced at 13,539 miles by Ferrari Maserati of Washington in Dulles, VA. On May 11th, 2006, the air pump fuse was replaced at the same dealership. On August 2nd, 2006, the Ferrari was sold yet again with 14,700 miles on the odometer to its fifth owner, who lived in New Hampshire. On May 22nd, 2007, it received a $4,000 interior and exterior detail as well as a re-spray of paint and clear coat on the front bumper performed by E-Muscles LLC in Middlefield, CT. Sometime in February of 2009, the fourth owner bought the car back at about 15,000 miles per an agreement that they have first right of refusal, making them both the fourth AND sixth owner. Fast forward to May 14, 2016, when the previous owner purchased it at Ferrari-Maserati of Washington in Dulles, VA, with 17,454 miles. On November 23rd, Little Speed Shop in Rochester, NY, replaced the spark plugs, air filter and performed an oil change at 18,770 miles. On June 28, 2017, Performance Auto of Webster, NY, performed a timing belt, power steering belt, and clutch disc replacement service at 19,580 miles, but one wire was thought to have caused a sporadic non-start issue. In June-July, the car was delivered to Algar Ferrari of Bryn Mawr, PA, who found that a single wire had been stretched and properly repaired during the engine removal. The car passed inspection at 18,386 miles. The AC was also recharged, exhaust serviced, belts and tensioners replaced, engine-out clutch service completed, and it also received a complete detail, and a repaired window regulator bracket. From then until now, this Ferrari has undergone routine maintenance and inspections with no issues to date. As it sits, this Ferrari 355 Spider has just over 23,000 miles on the odometer. It is a well-maintained example that is stored indoors with a car cover and only driven on days above 50 degrees with clear skies. With its gated 6-speed manual transmission and the top-down, summer driving has never looked or felt this good. Ferrari put an emphasis on the raw driving experience when developing the F355, ensuring these cars were drivable at any speed and environment. It was also the end of Ferrari’s “wedge” era, with the subsequent 360 bringing rounder corners and less sharp edges. Thanks to these two attributes in particular, the F355 has seen steadily rising prices in recent years, and they are sure to continue to appreciate in value. Upon purchase, the new owner will receive the top boot, leather-bound driver’s manual and warranty/care documents, fitted car cover, correct trunk-mounted leather-bound toolkit, and extensive service documentation on file. EXTERIOR Body And Paint This exceptionally rare Mugello Verde example shows beautifully with what we believe to be mostly original paint throughout. LBI did have the front and rear bumpers and rockers painted to clean up the inconsistencies that were present. The hood appears to meter higher than the rest of the car as well, indicating that the hood may have been painted. Today, the car shows straight down the sides with excellent panel fitment and benefiting from no previous accidents or other impactful events. Glass And Trim All of the glass appears to be the correct original glass. The anodized windshield trim is also in excellent condition. All of the rubber seals, lighting, lenses, badges, and emblems are in excellent condition. This is a car that has been carefully cared for and kept. Wheels LBI did have the wheels refinished due to each having enough minor flaws that it was deemed necessary. They are now consistent and present beautifully finished with new center caps. Notable Flaws The hood shows multiple pencil point-sized chips. There are touched-up chips by the driver's door edge in a couple of spots, as well as on the right rear corner of the engine cover. Lastly, one small spot on the passenger side front fender, on the horizontal surface of the belt line, has seen a touch-up (only noticeable if on the ground and looking up at it). The top does have a ¼ inch perforation on the drivers side, as photographed. INTERIOR Seats And Surfaces 355 interiors can be tricky, prone to leather shrinkage on the dash and elsewhere, as well as sticky buttons, etc… This example is above average, excellent really. The dash gauge pod leather is showing the slightest bit of shrinkage just starting. The dash is otherwise in excellent condition. The interior surfaces are a mixture of original soft touch still in good condition and refinished as needed (as is very common on these cars). In its current state, it does not require any attention. The seats show minimal wear commensurate with the mileage. The jambs, sills, kick panels, center console, carpets, steering wheel etc.. are all in excellent condition. The floor mats are the latest version of the originals that Ferrari offers, and are new. Functionality And Accessories Everything that was tested appears to be in working order. All toggles for lighting, seat adjustment, top, lock/unlock, suspension setting, etc., appear to be functioning as intended. ENGINE BAY AND TRUNK Engine Bay The engine bay appears to be in good condition, correct, with nothing out of place or aftermarket beyond normal wear items. The correct crinkle-red coating on the valve covers is free of any flaking. Trunk Area The front trunk area is tidy with no issues to note beyond the light failing to turn on when opened (likely a bulb). Underside The underside shows signs of use, some scrapes etc… but is otherwise in acceptable condition with no excessive leaks found and everything as it should be. MECHANICALS Engine The engine starts easily, runs strong, holds temperature within spec and generally runs out nicely. Transmission The transmission shifts as it should with no issues once warm. It has the typical 2nd gear stiffness that nearly all manual Ferrari transmissions have when cold. Brakes And Suspension The brakes appear to be in good condition with lots of life left. No pulling or pulsating, warped rotors etc… With the suspension quiet and tight, and even tiger with the flick of a button. The suspension is without issue. Tires The tires are new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/40ZR18 (rear) and 225/40ZR18 (front) with date codes of 2023. DRIVING EXPERIENCE Ferrari 355s offer a high-revving F1-like song that resonates with the idea of an “exotic car.” This 355 is no exception; it does everything as intended and does it well. It is a wonderful place to spend the day without any issues these are so commonly plagued with. This is a car that has seen consistent use and care throughout its life, with well-documented servicing and ownership. A strong example in one of the rarest and most desirable color combinations. 1997 Ferrari 355 Spider LBI Limited If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. We’re delighted to assist you.
