- 1982-lamborghini-countach-lp-400s-series-3
The Countach was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1974. The name ‘Countach’ is derived from an exclamation in a dialect from the Piedmont region bordering Switzerland. The word Countach, which is not orthographically fixed, stands for an exclamation that combines astonishment and admiration and can be translated as ‘non plus ultra’ or ‘unsurpassable’. A total of 237 of the LP 400S were produced between 1978 and 1982, with the vehicle presented here belonging to the 3rd series, of which only 83 were built. According to this report by renowned expert Oliver Nameche, the vehicle presented here was delivered to an Italian discotheque owner in 1981 via Achilli Motors in Milan. As early as 1985, the car was converted to the then more powerful 5000 S engine at one of the most renowned Lamborghini dealerships in Italy. Over the years, the car was sold to a collector in Switzerland and in 2015 to its current owner in northern Germany. The car was extensively overhauled a few years ago and has only driven 2,534 km since then. The overall condition as well as the original interior are in a very attractive condition. The currently fitted rear wing can be easily removed if required. The scope of delivery also includes gold-coloured Bravo rims. With a total mileage of approx. 89,000 km and only three owners in total, this is a real collector’s item. 1982 Lamborghini Countach LP 400S Series 3 Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988 Ferrari 412 - Classiche Certified
Produced between 1985 and 1989, the Ferrari 412 was the final flowering of the 400 series of luxurious four-seaters that had commenced with the introduction of the 365GT/4 2+2 in 1972. Launched at the 1976 Paris Salon, the succeeding 400GT gained a 4.8-litre version of the four-cam V12 engine, but otherwise differed only in detail. Following successful experiments carried out by engineers in the US, the 400 became the first Ferrari to offer automatic transmission as an option. The unit chosen - General Motors 3-speed Hydra-Matic 400 - was widely regarded as the world's best, having been used by Cadillac and subsequently by Rolls-Royce and Jaguar among others. Flagship of the Maranello range, the splendidly equipped 400GT featured self-levelling independent rear suspension, power-assisted steering, electric windows and optional air conditioning. Its arrival reaffirmed Ferrari's determination to compete with the world's finest luxury saloons. Representing evolution rather than revolution, the 412 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1985. The newcomer enjoyed a small (119cc) capacity increase, anti-lock brakes, revised interior and bumpers colour coordinated with the bodywork, while an improved front air dam and raised boot deck reduced the 412's already low co-efficient of drag by around 10%. By the time production ceased in 1989, Ferrari's finest 2+2 had been in production for a remarkable 17 years, though its exclusivity meant that there were seldom more than 200 sold in any one year. The detailed history file that accompanies this elegant Ferrari confirms that it was bought by its first owner, a Mr. Steinberg, from H.R. Owen, London on 18th March 1988 and registered as E930 MUC. Some three years later, Mr. Gidwaney, a director of E.W. Fact PLC, bought the car on 16th January 1991, transferring it later into his company's name on 14th February 1994. The third owner, as it were, was a Mr. Ballard who kept the car for some 18 months from 29th November 1996 until, on 2nd May 1998, it was sold to a Ms Harrison , who had homes in Edinburgh, London and Monaco. The car was exported to Monte Carlo in 2003 where it was maintained by G Cavallari of Monaco until 2014, going through the exhaustive Ferrari Classiche Certification process and receiving its 'Red Book' in 2009. Repatriated to the UK in 2018, it was subject to restorative and recommissioning works, including a repaint by Edinburgh-based specialists, Stewart Roden, at a cost of some £29,779, prior to being sold to a Dr Scott on 8th February 2018. Hardly used, it subsequently visited H.R. Owen for servicing and additional works in 2022. Purchased in March this year after a long search for 'the right one', our vendor became the car’s next owner and immediately commissioned Iain Tyrrell and his team to use their expertise in getting the car 'properly sorted'. The work involved and the final road test can be viewed online via the Iain Tyrrell Classic Workshop YouTube page and the bill amounted to some £7,000 in September 2024. Acknowledging that he’d probably use the Ferrari less frequently than his other classics, it was decided that the car should be offered to auction 'on its toes' complete with detailed history file, MOT until March 2025 and some 31,200 miles on the odometer. 1988 Ferrari 412 - Classiche Certified Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1993 Ferrari 512 TR Spider
The 512 TR was the replacement for the Testarossa, and was announced for the 1992 model year. The new car witnessed a return to a model title using characters, with the figure "5" referring to the cubic capacity of the engine in litres and the "12" to the number of cylinders, whilst the "TR" was an abbreviation of Testarossa (Testa Rossa). The main external visual differences were the nose and tail treatment, the louvre design on the engine lid and the design of the road wheels. There was also a barely noticeable different profile to the sail panel buttresses, which were plain and flowed directly into the roof panel on the 512 TR, instead of featuring the step and black perforated exhaust air grilles of the Testarossa. Internally there were changes to the seats, steering wheel design and trim details. Mechanically there were numerous changes to the engine and gearbox, which boosted power, and provided a more satisfying and positive to use gearbox. Not visually apparent was that the engine and transmission assembly location in the chassis had been dropped by 30mm, to lower the centre of gravity, and thus improve the already high standard of roadholding. The net result of these changes was a jump in the claimed power output of 38bhp to 428bhp @ 6750rpm for European models and 421bhp at the same engine speed for US models. The increased power provided improved acceleration, although the top speed was still in line with that of its predecessor. This 512 TR sits apart from others. This 512 TR was supplied new to the Saudi Arabian Royal Family, care of official Ferrari importers to the region, Red Sea Motors in Jeddah, on 1st June 1993. Immensely passionate about the Ferrari marque, the family were visited by members of the Brunei Royal Family, at their embassy in Riyadh. After a discussion about some new bespoke projects due to arrive in Brunei from Pininfarina, the Saudi Royal Family were enamoured at the sight of a new special project developed in partnership with Hong Seh Motors of Singapore. Ferrari were set to build three 512 TR Spiders. Immediately after the Brunei Royal Family departure, the Saudi Royals contacted Pininfarina in an attempt to secure their own example. Unfortunately, with such strong ties to Brunei, Pininfarina had to reject the request. Seeking an alternative option, the Saudi Royal Family reached out to renowned German coachbuilders Lorenz & Rankl. Formerly carrying out conversion work on behalf of tuners Koenig as well a wealth of desert hunting vehicles for various Middle Eastern Royal families, Lorenz & Rankl had made their name making bespoke convertibles of Mercedes Benz and Ferrari models. Their experience extended to a full convertible version of Ferrari’s 308 and 512 BB. They converted 5 Testarossas to convertible configuration, but would make just 1 512 TR. Leaving the care of its commissioning Royal owner in 2014. It had been stored for a number of years in the Palace garage without use. The TR was sold to a close family friend who had the car fully stripped and serviced, refinishing the car in the Rosso Corsa it presents in today. The restoration took over a year and was completed in 2016. It was used sparingly by the second owner, covering 2,500 kilometres over the next four years, all of which were still in Saudi Arabia. The car was serviced by both Al Tayer Motors and Euro Motors Bahrain during this time. This example was purchased by the current owner in 2020, and, with permission of the Royal Family it was exported to the USA. Since its arrival in the USA, it has undergone registration, now holding a full US title and been serviced on two further occasions, including a major service with cambelts by Omega Motorsport in 2020. Accompanied by its luggage,a book pack including service book and tools, this 512 TR by Lorenz & Rankl is a fantastic means to enjoy Ferrari’s 4.9 twelve cylinder. This example is available for viewings by appointment in Miami. Out of gallery 1993 Ferrari 512 TR Spider D.K. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The 512 TR was the replacement for the Testarossa, and was announced for the 1992 model year. Out of gallery Other Cars from D.K. - 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
What is it? It’s an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA, the history-steeped Italian marque’s fabled touring car. Timelessly styled by Bertone, the GTA’s body was crafted from a new-fangled and very light alloy dreamt up by Alfa’s Servizio Esperienze Carpenteria, comprising aluminium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc. Once the magnesium wheels, Perspex windows, aluminium suspension components and lightweight door handles (yes, really) were thrown into the mix, the Giulia Sprint tipped the scales at a mere 740kg, earning the car its Gran Turismo Alleggerita (Italian for lightweight) nomenclature. The GTA’s weight – or rather lack of – equated to nimbleness. And the legendary 1,570cc twin-spark engine, fed by two twin-barrel Weber carburettors, equated to speed. Alfa’s intentions for the Giulia Sprint was for it to win races. And win races it most certainly did. The factory’s decorated racing outfit Autodelta enjoyed great success with the GTA, clinching European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) titles in 1966, ’67 and ’68. And the factory’s more potent GTA 1300 Junior and GTAm scored a further two ETCC victories in 1970 and ’71. Maltese hill-climber Leonard Calleja was the original owner of this Alfa Romeo, entering it in several domestic events on the island Can you tell us about the early history of this particular example? An incredibly rare right-hand-drive Corsa-specification Giulia Sprint GTA, chassis number AR 752661 was delivered new to Autodelta in April of 1965. The car remained with Autodelta until 1968, at which point it was sold to the Maltese hill-climber Leonard Calleja. After entering a number of local hill-climbs, Calleja kept his beloved Alfa Romeo, selling only in 1988 – and to a fellow Maltese islander at that. As was the trend at the time, AR 752661 was upgraded to Group 2 specification. What happened next? The West Coast-based Ferrari collector Tom Price acquired AR 752661 in 1989, promptly entrusting the British Alfa Romeo specialist Paul Grist with overseeing the car’s restoration back to authentic pre-1966 specification. The idea had been for Price to race this GTA, though he was forced to sell it before he ever had the chance. The UK-based Alfa Romeo collector Nick Savage was the next lucky custodian. Savage did race this car, receiving its FIA papers in 2003 and contesting the new and fiercely popular U2TC (Under 2-litre Touring Cars) historic championship. A Californian collector by the name of Gary Roberts acquired AR752661 in 2013, who kept it until 2020, when it was bought by its current owner, a prominent figure in the historic racing world. What can I do with this car today? The beauty of a Giulia Sprint GTA is that it’s an incredibly versatile and highly eligible car for historic motorsport, both on the road and the racetrack. Peter Auto’s Heritage Touring Cup is a fantastic and very competitive series encompassing the greatest racetracks across Europe, while the popular Under Two Litre Touring Car (U2TC) championship serves keen historic drivers in the United Kingdom. Naturally, the hotly-contested St. Mary’s Trophy at the Goodwood Revival would be the most memorable stage on which to enjoy this Alfa Romeo. If you’re more interested in competitive road-rallying, both the Modena Cento Ore in Italy and the Tour Auto Optic 2000 in France would welcome this GTA with open arms. Sell it to me in a sentence… Here is an utterly beautiful 1960s Italian touring car with the rarity and historical provenance to render it incredibly eligible in a wide range of prestigious historic motorsport events and the driving characteristics to be every bit as enjoyable on a stolen Sunday B-road blast. 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Girardo & Co. - 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider Manual
Supplied new via the Evans Halshaw dealership in Birmingham, this Ferrari F355 is an exceptional example and is presented in its original colour scheme of Rosso Corsa with Crema interior. The first owner of chassis number 106698 was a Mr John Greasley. It was delivered on 24 October 1996 with engine number 44013. Over the course of its life, the F355 has been maintained by some of the most respected names in the Ferrari world. Its full service history starts on 8 September 1998, when it returned to Evans Halshaw having covered 5307 miles. It was back there on 14 December 1999, when it had its cambelts replaced – a job that was also carried out in October 2002 at 7886 miles, then again in 2006, 2009, 2013, 2016 and 2019. In 2006, the Ferrari had been sold to its latest owner by world-renowned specialist Bob Houghton. The car had covered 12,626 miles and it has been looked after by Houghton ever since. As well as the usual service items, work has included the refurbishment of the interior trim panels in 2015, plus the renewal of the engine mounts and front suspension hubs in 2019. The F355’s most recent visit to the Houghton workshops came in June 2022, when it was given a full service – including the removal of the engine so that the cambelts and auxiliary drive belt could be changed. The bearing for the alternator belt tensioner pulley was renewed and a compression check was carried out on the V8 engine. Ferrari’s paddle-shift ‘semi-automatic’ transmission was an option from 1997 onwards, but this car features the six-speed manual gearbox that is perfectly suited to the free-revving 3.5-litre V8. Fewer than 500 right-hand-drive F355 Spiders were built, from a production total of more than 11,000 cars, making this a rare example of the breed. Fastidiously maintained regardless of cost and presented in superb condition, this Ferrari F355 Spider is offered for sale complete with its leather wallet containing a full set of owner’s books. MODEL HISTORY The F355 was launched in 1994 and was based on the 348, but the intention was to make it more useable and more rounded than its predecessor without compromising on performance. It was therefore heavily modified, beginning with the 3495cc V8 engine, which featured five valves per cylinder rather than four. The result was 375bhp at 8250rpm – enough to mean that the 0-60mph sprint took less than five seconds, and 0-100mph took less than 11. Its top speed was 183mph, and its specific output of 109bhp per litre bettered even that of the McLaren F1. Beneath the Pininfarina-designed bodywork – finalised after extensive wind-tunnel testing – was a steel monocoque with a tubular rear subframe. Drivers could switch between two damper settings – Comfort and Sport – and a heat exchanger was added in order to warm up the gearbox oil more quickly. The F355 was initially offered with only a six-speed manual transmission, but in 1997 the revolutionary Formula 1-inspired ‘paddle shift’ semi-automatic gearbox was added. The convertible Spider and the targa-roof GTS joined the Berlinetta in 1995. The Berlinetta was the most common of the three, with 4871 being built. The Spider was next (3717) and the GTS was built in the smallest numbers – only 2048 leaving the Ferrari factory. The F355 was developed for competition use in the Ferrari Challenge, with a range of modifications being available. It’s thought that only 108 cars – all with the manual gearbox – were built to Challenge specification. While the previous 348 had suffered in comparison to the Honda NSX and Porsche 911, the F355 put Ferrari back on track and it won universal plaudits for its looks, handling and the ear-splitting noise from that sublime engine. Almost 30 years since it was introduced, it is now recognised as the point at which Ferrari refined its mid-engined V8 concept away from the compromised models of the classic era and towards a new generation of cars that continued with the 360, 430 and beyond. 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider Manual The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Porsche’s first supercar Extremely well-preserved Completely mechanically refurbished by Canepa 2.85L Flat 6-Cylinder \ 450 H.P. 6-Speed Manual Transmission Twin KKK Turbochargers and Intercoolers This 1987 Porsche 959 “Komfort” emerges not just as a car, but as a thundering statement of power, speed, and technological wizardry. Equipped with twin-turbos this all-wheel-drive marvel was Porsche's answer to the call for the fastest street-legal production car. With its aerodynamically sculpted body and a heart that beats with a twin-turbo flat-six engine, this 959 was the envy of every car on the road. This was Porsche flexing its muscles, showing off what it could do when it threw all rules out the window. Developed initially as a four-wheel-drive Group B contender, the 959 was the first to bring space-age complexity to the racetrack. Its body showcases an incredible synergy of aluminum and Aramid (Kevlar), lighter than a whisper but tough as nails. It's like Porsche took a page out of Formula One's book, then wrote a whole new chapter with it. Underneath that sleek exterior roars a 2.85L powerhouse. This six-cylinder 'boxer' engine, decked out with air cooled cylinders and water-cooled double-overhead-camshaft four-valve cylinder heads, was a marvel. Boasting 450bhp, this titan can blast past 195mph without breaking a sweat. But the 959 wasn’t just about speed. It was a symphony of sophisticated technology and luxury. With a four-wheel-drive and six-speed transmission that could adapt to any condition and double wishbone suspension for a ride as smooth as silk, this car was a dream to handle. And let's not forget the comforts – electric windows and mirrors, climate control, and seats that adjust just the way you like. The Porsche 959 is a highly sought-after and rare sports car that was difficult to acquire due to its limited production and high demand. The model was nicknamed "Porsche's gift to its favorite customers." The desirability of the Porsche 959 was so strong that even collectors in the United States, where the cars could not be legally imported, sought ways to obtain them through a "grey market." However, the Show and Display Law 1998, supported by Porsche legend Bruce Canepa, eventually allowed for the legal importation of the 959. The 1987 Porsche 959 “Komfort” isn’t just a collector’s dream; it's a beacon of automotive excellence. It stands as a testament to the era when Porsche dared to redefine what a supercar could be. And with only 292 of the 959 ever to be created it’s one of Porsches rarest. The previous owner had a substantial car collection and put in over $200k on the refurbishment of this car, which Canepa was honored to complete given our history and passion for excellence in this type of project specifically. He wanted this 959 to be in completely original and pristine, unrestored condition. In addition, he wanted to make sure it was mechanically and cosmetically like new, front to back. Every mechanical component was fully tested with the goal of having the car ready to enjoy for another 20+ years. Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through an extensive and diligent process called the “Canepa Difference.” This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They also receive award-winning concours-level detailing, including a thorough cleaning of each and every surface. 1987 Porsche 959 Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Stuart Turner, Head of Ford Motorsport in Europe, together with Walter Hayes are the people generally acknowledged as being responsible for the continuing competitive success of the Sierra Cosworth in International Motorsport for most of the late 1980s, however, by 1990 a new genre of rally cars was emerging. The brief now called for a smaller, lighter car to challenge the rapidly emerging competition from Japan. Indeed, Turner had cited that nearly a third of all cars entered in a previous national rally were Japanese in order to encourage the Ford decision makers in Detroit to 'sign off' the proposed Escort Cosworth rally program. They still took some robust persuading as the fifth-generation models were only available in front-wheel drive and the RS Escort was going to be far removed from the production item destined for the 'masses' and, worse still, production would have to be outsourced to Karmann in Germany. Two major considerations swayed Ford's decision to go ahead; firstly, the new Escort was being labelled rather bland by the press and the range needed a 'halo/hero car' and, secondly, the drivetrain for the new rally car was going to be the well-proven, world beating, four-wheel drive system from the Sierra Cosworth. Using terminology familiar to the American executives on the board, Turner suggested that the new car was going to be a 'pizza' rally car; Sierra Cosworth base with an Escort body-shell topping. A prototype was entered in a somewhat obscure rally in Spain, it won, and Ford's Marketing machine quickly seized the opportunity with an advertising campaign that meant that the board had no real choice but to continue with the RS Cosworth program, a decision that in retrospect worked out very well Supplied new by Gordon Ford, Colwyn Bay in November 1993, this outstanding Escort RS Cosworth ‘Big Turbo’ rolled off the production line finished in the rare colour combination of Radiant Red with a Polaris Grey Hexagon cloth interior. It’s had just one registered keeper, covering a warranted 12,534 miles from new, and remains in exceptional ‘time-warp’ condition throughout, a term that is often difficult to define but on this occasion we suggest that it fits perfectly, the original radio still shows the vehicle registration when switched on, the mandatory Vecta Immobiliser is still in situ and functioning correctly, and the original dealer number plates remain attached. The late John Phillips was a Blue Oval fanatic and a long time Motorsport devotee, acquiring the Escort as an early retirement present to himself and it was undoubtedly his ‘pride and joy’. It lived in its own garage from the day he bought it, never came out on wet days, and was diligently maintained as and when required until his untimely passing in 2009, from which point the Escort remained interred in the same garage until recently removed to be prepared and photographed for sale. The history file is comprehensive and includes the original grey leather document wallet, the full complement of books and manuals, its original tax disc holder, documentation relating to the ‘Options’ purchase scheme, and the dealer hand-over sheet, plus of course various invoices, MOT Certificates and later tax discs. In readiness for sale, the cam belt will be renewed and an oil and filter change carried out, however, with minimal use over the last 15 or so years we recommend that minor recommissioning may be required to ensure that everything is exactly as it should be and with that in mind we welcome and encourage your early inspection to ensure that this particular RS Cosworth meets your expectations and requirements. A rare and desirable Homologation Special, in simply remarkable condition, that we suggest will be welcome within any Blue Oval collection or similarly perfectly at home with any Ford RS enthusiast. - 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole
With ongoing success in racing, the rapidly growing Ferrari brand, and the challenging loss of Dino Ferrari, it was not easy for Ferrari to change sports car paradigms in 1975. Though the mid-engine Dino had made significant impact in new markets, the next step was a bold move for Ferrari. Amidst the otherwise dull automotive offerings of the period, the Pininfarina designed Ferrari 308 debuted at the 1975 Paris Auto Show to enthusiastic acclaim. Ferrari delivered a refreshing approach via designer Leonardo Fioravanti, who had penned many of Ferrari's most celebrated cars including the Daytona, the Dino, and the Berlinetta Boxer. Within a short period of time, the 308 quickly becoming a fixture of television shows, movies, and advertising posters, while shaping public opinion about what a sports car should look and feel like. Although initially limited to a fixed roof configuration, the GTS arrived in 1977, featuring a rigid removable black roof panel, which could be stowed in a vinyl cover behind the seats. In 1980, the 308 was updated with fuel-injection which allowed for better emissions yet compromised performance with a loss of power, delivering only 202 hp on US models. Ferrari set about developing a solution to the output challenge in 1982 launching the Quattrovalvole. This four-valve per cylinder engine resulted in 232 hp output without compromising emission requirements for the all-important US market. Exterior body changes were minor, including a new grille sporting rectangular driving lights on each outboard side, a longitudinal hood vent to aid in evacuating warm air, and rectangular front side marker lights. Limited in production, while blending the best of the early series 308 with a more potent engine, the 308 QV has since become more and more sought after by enthusiasts who seek low mile examples that can be driven with confidence while also participating in concours and Ferrari club events. This multiple award-winning and beautifully preserved Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole GTS was prepared and delivered for US sale to Walnut Creek Ferrari, Walnut Creek CA. According to the purchase invoice included with the car, the first owner took delivery August 28, 1983, including an AM/FM stereo tape unit and car cover. The first owner was meticulous about both his care and service efforts for the car documenting all services as shown in the chronologically sorted three ring binders of service invoice copies retained with the car. Annual services performed by the selling dealer included fluids, belts, etc. through 1989 when the car was stored with 11,606 miles. In 2002 the car was sold to the second owner, a resident of Los Angeles, CA. At the time of purchase, 12,002 miles were indicated. That same year, Prancing Horse in Burlingame, CA performed a 30k mile service including timing belt, new tires, water pump and coolant hoses. In 2006 the third owner, a resident of Sunnyvale, CA purchased the car with 14,626 miles indicated. Both mechanical and light cosmetic work continued with various vendors including The Pit Stop, Brisbane, CA and Coppa Bella, Seaside, CA who performed a major belt service, installed new rear brake calipers, and charged the AC system at 20,787 miles in 2012. In 2016 new tires were installed at 24,520 miles shortly before the current owner purchases the car in 2017. The current and fourth owner purchased this Ferrari in 2017 with 24,512 miles indicated. Prancing Horse performed a 30k mile service that same year including a new timing belt, valve adjustment, new drive belt, and water pump rebuild. The car continued to pass California emissions tests as accumulating miles were kept to a minimum with annual oil and filter changes and the most recent emissions test with passing results achieved in September 2023. In addition to the consistent service history and enthusiast care, under the decade of third ownership, this car has been judged and exhibited at numerous Concours events achieving 10 1st place wins, 6 Platinum Awards, attended several Ferrari Club of America events, participated in numerous driving events, and auto show displays including Concorso Italiano, Hillsborough Concours, Danville Concours, Palo Alto Concours, and the 2015 International Ferrari Meet where it won both the Platinum Award for its class and a Platinum Preservation Award. Given these significant credentials, platinum awards, and spectacular original presentation, it would be hard to find another example combining the history of awards, low miles, and Quattrovalvole GTS designation. Today, showing just 25,776 miles, this beautifully preserved Ferrari presents as a wonderful original example throughout. The original paint is in excellent condition with high luster and great gloss to the Rosso Corsa finish applied at the factory. The factory paint has been confirmed by the 4-7 micron readings achieved when metering the majority of the body surfaces. Under prior ownership, the hood was removed, and a small paint crack repaired, and paint work performed to the frontal area of the hood. The hood and trunk open and shut smoothly, displaying very nice fit with even panel gaps. Doors also open and shut without issue. The black trim remains in excellent condition with no major flaws or notable warpage due to excessive heat exposure. The removable roof panel and distinctive upper rear spoiler are in excellent condition with no marks or flaws of note. The glass appears to be original and in excellent condition as are the various window gaskets, black trim for the side vents and engine cover. The Ferrari emblems and badges are in excellent condition throughout the car, and the lenses and lighting remarkably as new, further supporting the superb preservation and low mile accumulation this car has enjoyed since new. The car wears a set of correct original 8x16 wheels with contemporary Michelin Pilot Sport 225/50 ZR16 tires. Inside the car, the tan leather interior has been remarkably preserved benefiting from thoughtful application of protective treatments to maintain the look and feel that only properly preserved original materials can offer. Once seated inside, the seats are comfortable and the leather still soft and supple, with a comfortable feel. The interior finishes are very nicely preserved including the tan covered center console, black dashboard, and door panels. Carpeting is in keeping with the miles shown, with no significant signs of wear. Instruments and steering wheel are in excellent condition with no fading or unusual wear. The removable top removes and attaches easily, stowing in the factory case behind the seats, making for both open and closed cockpit driving without the hassle of a folding convertible top. The trunk compartment is also in excellent condition with original black carpeting, a taut black zipper liner, smoothly opening and closing access to the compartment. The engine compartment has benefited from timing belt service performed approximately 500 miles ago when all fluids were serviced and changed while the engine was out. The engine and surrounding compartment remain original without significant modifications and excellent finishes to the supporting components reflective of the multiple Platinum Awards this car has received. The matching red intake plenum sits atop the 32-valve V8, boasting the added horsepower offered in the QV configuration. The handsome cast aluminum heads deliver all the visual engagement of a finely preserved Ferrari showing only modest amounts of patina since offered new. Factory finishes and original data plates, coded labels, and warning information items remain in place. The original spare tire mounted to the factory rim sits snugly inside the front tub, which appears in excellent condition showing no cracks or excessive scratches as is often seen in cars with more accumulated miles. The underside of the car is tidy, clean, and reflective of the indicated miles. The car starts easily, idling smoothly and evenly in part due to the recent service and careful considerations given to the preserved systems. Driving this 308 one is reminded of how much the Quattrovalvole improved power delivery especially when compared to nearly any other 308 in the series. This 308 GTS QV is not only impressive for the power and smooth delivery via fuel injection, but it also delivers a well-balanced chassis, via improved suspension, 16” wheels, and of course open coachwork without compromising structural rigidity. Power comes on strong especially in the higher rev range and shifting is very comfortable via the 5-speed gated shifter and tall clutch pedal. Braking is quite good even when coming down from high speeds. Most impressively, the 32-valve engine delivers expressive power and great range without the fussiness often presented with carbureted cars. The car is accompanied by a factory tool roll, tools, jack and case, owner’s embroidered fabric and leather folio with manual and service booklet, and two binders with service information, original California pink slip, original window sticker, original purchase invoice, numerous service records from current and prior owners, and car show event placards all sorted chronologically in the two binders. Ready to offer the next fortunate enthusiast an enjoyable ownership experience of power and performance, this desirable and very original Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole GTS has benefited from thoughtful preservation and consummate care throughout its coveted life. Celebrated with multiple Platinum Awards from Ferrari expert judges, the combined Pininfarina design and Quattrovalvole driving experience is beautifully represented in this exceptional original 308. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright With ongoing success in racing, the rapidly growing Ferrari brand, and the challenging loss of Dino Ferrari, it was not easy for Ferrari to change sports car paradigms in 1975. In 1964, the Alfa Romeo Sprint was introduced, the new coupé from the Biscione brand to complete the Giulia family. Its lines, the work of Giugiaro, under the Bertone umbrella, were so modern that it remained almost unchanged until its final evolution in 1971, the year in which the 2000 GTV was marketed. In addition, they look even more spectacular in the original pine green of our unit. A model designed for driving pleasure, transmitting to its lucky owner all the DNA of the brand, with a mechanics checked by our specialists, which is in top shape. Its performance is top-notch, as thanks to its 131 hp, it completes the 0-100 km/h in less than 9 seconds, a figure lower than much more expensive contemporary models, including the Porsche 911. 1971 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV Auto Storica If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
