The spiders of the 105 and 115 series are the longest produced models in Alfa Romeo’s history. When the spider was introduced in spring 1966, it received mixed reviews. Most of the hard core Alfisti would have wished for a different successor for the slightly baroque looking Giulia spider. The sporty cabriolet nevertheless turned out to be a great success (thanks in no small part to a certain graduate, Mr. Dustin Hofmann) and little changed in its shape until 1993. The example offered in Verde English stems from the 4th and last series and was handed over to its lucky first owner on the 2nd of June 1992. After most probably three changes of ownership in 2003, 2016 and 2021, the spider was taken over by its last keeper in August 2022. He provided the cabriolet with a cosmetic refreshment in 2024 and had a new soft top and new seat covers in beige leather with Alcantara centres installed. In September of the same year, a service including a change of the oil filter and new spark plugs was completed. With now 91’400 kilometres driven and a full service booklet (the cambelt had been replaced at 73’391 kilometres) the sporty little cabriolet is in very good and lovingly maintained condition and will be handed to the next enthusiast with the last MOT from August 2022. 1992 Alfa Romeo Spider Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The famous BMW roundel has led the field in many disciplines of motorsport, and the Munich marque’s motivation to build the M1 was born out of its competitive endeavours. By the end of the 1970s, its CSL cars were losing an edge against Porsche’s new 935, and BMW needed a mid-engined chassis to fit its twin-cam 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine. BMW’s Motorsport division first contacted Lamborghini for help needed but by April 1978 the project had been taken in house. The wedge design was styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro and built in Italy along with the chassis, prior to final assembly taking place at Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart. The resulting product—badged as the BMW M1 and sold from 1978 to 1981—is widely coveted to this day as a rare piece of BMW history. The example offered here is recorded to have been finished by Trattamento Italiano Resina (TIR) on 7 December 1979 and later completed by Baur on 7 March 1980, documented as the 116th M1 built. The BMW was finished in Rot over a Schwarz interior and was distributed via BMW Italia SpA. It is understood that early in its life, the car was taken to the United States, where it would be kept in a collection based in New York. The M1 later returned to Europe via its native Germany, and after being acquired by its consigning owner in December 2018 was registered in France in 2019. In the care of the vendor, in June 2019, the BMW was subject to €14,811-worth of mechanical maintenance by Dynamism Automobiles SAS, a BMW service centre based near Angers, France. In April 2022, the M1 was given €10,562-worth of further maintenance work by BMW Bayonne (invoices available to view on file). The odometer shows just 24,232 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. Now offered in its factory-correct colour combination and with its matching-numbers engine, this attractive M1 is sure to be coveted by BMW enthusiasts. 1980 BMW M1 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1970 Porsche 911E
Significance It makes sense why so many enthusiasts deem the Porsche 911 the ultimate classic car. Thanks to its unique and exciting driving dynamics, outstanding build quality, and legendary reliability, classic 911 ownership sidesteps many of the pitfalls usually associated with having an old car in your garage. With nearly 60 years of continuous production, selecting the proper classic 911 can be daunting- but without a doubt, one of the most sought-after generations is the long wheelbase, short bumper cars built between 1969 and 1973. Although the earlier short-wheelbase cars are known for their lively handling and revvy small displacement motors, the long-wheelbase cars are far more refined and much better all-around vehicles. In 1970, the 911 was offered in 3 trim lines, the carburated “T”, the fuel-injected “E”, and the highest-performing “S”- all of which were powered by a stout 2.2-liter air-cooled flat 6. About this vehicle This 1970 Porsche 911 E coupe is a wonderful example of this coveted generation of 911 and benefits from a number of upgrades, aimed at bringing the appearance and performance closer to the ultra-limited 911R race car of the era. Finished in a deep forest green,at first glance this car doesn’t look to be especially modified- until you note the Lexan rear-side window with louvers punched into it. This was an integral feature on the 911R and not only reduces weight but adds some extra ventilation into the cabin which is always nice. In the rear, the standard tail lights have been swapped out for individual round bullet style lamps, and both the bumpers and bumperettes are color matched to the body of the car. A mesh grille over the engine bay allows for the motor to breathe more easily and is a much more simple, stripped down race car look than the slats that typically cover that space. Swing open the door and you are greeted by lightweight door cards- gone are the deviating materials and storage bin- all you have now is the window crank, a strap to open the door and a handle to close it. Moving inside and the seats are a pair of lightweight buckets with significant side bolstering- designed to keep you in place during the most aggressive driving- and seat centers finished in corduroy cloth with rivets in them for ventilation- much like those you would have seen in a 1968 911R. Milled aluminum pedals offer great grip on your shoes and a battery cutoff switch has been installed in the center of the dash. The rear seats have been deleted which both reduces weight but also makes for a truly spacious area for luggage behind the seats. Sitting out back is one of the all-time great engines from Porsche- a 2.2 liter air cooled Flat-6 that was found in 911s from 1969-1971. The engine has clearly been gone through recently and is exceptionally clean throughout. Although this car started life as an “E” which meant that it was fitted from the factory with mechanical fuel injection, that system has since been swapped out for a pair of triple choke downdraft carburetors. Although when this car was new that may have been viewed as a step backwards, the carburetors are far nicer to live with and can produce better power when the engine is modified. A modified airbox offers great induction noise while a sportier dual-exit exhaust means that at full chat, this car checks all the sensory boxes you could want from an air cooled 911. Porsche made its name through building both exceptionally successful race cars, as well as fun and capable street cars and this 911 is a wonderful blend of the two. With its host of modifications, this car is a delight behind the wheel and a wonderful looking addition to any garage. 1970 Porsche 911E ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1959 Maserati 3500 GT Touring
As one of only 937 coupé built with the sought-after carburettor engine this stunning Maserati 3500 with chassis number 101-538 was handed over to its first owner on the 24th July 1959 by Maserati agent Jean Thépenier. According to the Maserati register, the car was later sold by the 1st owner to a gentleman in England who later on sold the GT to Hollande. In 2012 the Maserati was then completely restored for its second Dutch owner. The coachwork was repainted from the original “Grigio Scuro” to the current light blue, an original Maserati colour. The matching numbers engine as well as the gearbox and the rest of the mechanical bits received a comprehensive overhaul. The interior was restored with light beige leather and blue carpets. In 2023 the 3500 was taken over by the vendor and imported into Germany. Currently the Maserati is in outstanding condition and will be sold with a Maserati certificate and a exhaustive documentation of its history and restoration. The car has German documents on H-plates and Swiss custom duties have so far not been paid. For a Swiss buyer the car will be custom-cleared by the vendor. 1959 Maserati 3500 GT Touring Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1989 Porsche 930 Slant Nose 1
The ‘flachbau’ version of the 930 (known also as the 930S and in English as the ‘Slantnose’) is a true 1980s icon. Incorporating the more aerodynamically efficient smooth front fenders of the Le Mans-winning 935, the Slantnose was a modern and visually stunning take on the traditional 911 package which helped it transition from being a venerable and somewhat old-fashioned sports car to one of the most iconic and sought-after sports cars of the 80s. Like many Porsche design trends, the aesthetics of the Slantnose had a functional basis on the race track. To reduce drag of their 911-based race cars, engineers removed the headlight pods of the 911 and replaced them with a flat front fenders. This purposeful look captured the hearts and minds of enthusiasts, and as early as 1981, factory Slantnose road cars were being quietly built in small numbers for important customers through the Sonderwunsch (‘special wish’) program. During the same period, there was a proliferation of aftermarket Slantnose conversions, which varied in quality and were sometimes even executed in fiberglass. This demonstrated the significant market demand for the Slantnose, and for the 1987 model year, Porsche made it a publically available (and eye-wateringly expensive) option. Designated with code M505, the Slantnose option cost $29,555 in 1989 (above the $85,000 price tag of the 930 Cabriolet) and included revised front fenders with pop up headlights, boxed rocker extensions, and large vents let into the rear fenders, which serve to admit air for the auxiliary oil cooler on the right side. In 1989, the 930’s last model year, the car received the vastly improved G50 transmission (the first time a 5-speed gearbox was offered in the 930), making the 1989 Slantnose among the rarest 911s of the era. Indeed, just 28 1989 M505 930 Cabriolets were built, representing what was, simply put, the most expensive 911 a customer could buy. This particular Slantnose Cabriolet is a two-owner lifelong California car which was sold new 10 May 1989 by Berkey Imported Cars, Inc. in Pleasanton, California. The included Certificate of Authenticity shows that the car was completed 3 March 1989 and is a genuine M505 car fitted with the following options: California Emissions Steering Wheel w/Raised Hub Tonneau Cover Heated Seat – Left Limited Slip Differential Shorter Gear Shift Lever Amplifier System Slant Nose CD-2 CD Player w/Radio Luggage Compartment Black Velour Bridgestone Tires The pre-delivery inspection was performed with 27 miles on the odometer on the 10th of May 1989 and the car was delivered to a resident of Oakland, California. Berkey continued to service the car early in its life, performing additional maintenance in June of 1990 at 2,508 miles and in March of 1991 with 4,336 miles. Service was performed later on by Michael Stead Porsche in Walnut Creek, California in 1997 and 1999 with 16,021 and 24,330 miles. The first owner consigned the car for sale to Prestige Autohaus, Walnut Creek, CA, where the second and current owner purchased the car in March of 2005. At that time, the car had covered 42,482 miles. Subsequent records by the current owner document the modest 3,000 miles covered by the second owner. Services include regular oil and fluid changes, brake servicing at 44,090 miles, smog tests as needed for up to date California registration, and a new battery in 2014. Today, this remarkably original Porsche is in very nice condition with excellent original Guards Red paint applied over exceptionally nice original factory body panels. Showing only minor paint imperfections, light surface scratches, and minor road chips on the hood, the finish is very satisfying particularly considering the originality of the car. The paint meters below 6 mils on all metal panels. The rubber and black trim are excellent throughout the car. The stance is on correct and desirable 7- and 9-inch Fuchs wheels, are color coded and show minor curb rash on the rear wheels. The glass, lenses, and lights are also in excellent condition other than a chip in the windshield, which has been present since before the current owner purchased the car and has not grown during his 13 years of ownership. The power convertible top is in very nice shape with only minor evidence of use. The electric mechanism works properly and the rear window remains supple and clear. The uniquely optioned Cashmere leather interior is very nicely appointed, having been fitted with the beltline leather package, which includes leather lower dash, HVAC control box, door pulls, and door pocket lids. The overall condition of the materials and surfaces is excellent, including the seats, carpets, and dash. The leather seats show minimal use, with only minor driver’s side bolster wear evident in the leather. The rear seating area appears essentially unused and free of damage, with smoothly hinging rear seatbacks, showing excellent finishes both front and back. The original carpets are in very good condition, showing some areas of light use in typical places, in keeping with the low miles indicated. A set of period tan over mats is included with the car. The dashboard, switches, iconic black-dial instruments with orange needles, and analog controls are excellent and correct, once again showing virtually no evidence of excessive use or long-term sun exposure. The original Porsche-branded CD player is still in place. The engine compartment is mercifully unmodified, a welcome treatment for a 930 Turbo given that so many examples have been altered over the years. The original engine and engine compartment are clean and attractive, offering a very nice presentation consistent with an unmodified example that has been driven minimal miles and properly cared for. The trunk is stock in appearance covered with the optional black velour and housing factory correct spare tire, air compressor, and proper materials and finishes indicative of an original factory preserved Porsche of this vintage. Underneath the car, there is only mild evidence of road use and no indication of structural damage or compromise to the floor or other components. The car starts easily either cold or warm, settles into a smooth idle, and pulls authoritatively when on boost. One of the most defining parts of the experience is the G50 gearbox. While 4-speed 930s suffer from the widely space gears and the vague shift action, the G50 transforms the car. Ratios are closer together, and there is a modernity to the shift action and synchromesh that turns one of the weakest dynamic points of the 930 into one of its strengths. As one might expect from a car of this performance lineage, power is there when needed but the car remains still very usable even in generally mild traffic. The chassis, steering, and suspension are tight, while the 917-derived brakes respond very nicely even under higher demand from highway speeds. This Slantnose comes with the original owner’s manual, service records, an original sales brochure, detailed owners notes and mileage records from 2005, service records from 2005 onward, spare keys, tools, tool roll, air compressor and Certificate of Authenticity confirming this is a factory Slantnose cabriolet delivered with all options featured on this exceptionally original car. Included among the books is the original maintenance booklet which supports the early service history as well as the retaining the original options sticker. This is an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a very original low-mileage, well-preserved factory Porsche 930 Slantnose Cabriolet, delivered new in the quintessential 1980s color combination. 930s of all types have appreciated markedly, with rare variants becoming especially collectible. One of only 28 5-speed Slantnose Cabriolets built, this 930 is both rare and beautiful, making it a particularly difficult car to find, ensuring its continued desirability as the Porsche market continues to appreciate and enthusiasts seek out the very best examples of these iconic sports cars. 1989 Porsche 930 Slant Nose Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1994-jaguar-xj220
This exceptional example of Jaguar’s legendary supercar claims a life of modest driving use and fastidious upkeep throughout a short chain of dedicated owners, resulting in a particularly fetching XJ220. According to a production record trace certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, chassis number 220773 was completed in March 1993 and finished in the striking livery of Le Mans Blue paint over a Smoke Grey leather interior. Dispatched from the factory in June 1993, customer order number 048 (as evidenced by the doorsill embossment) was sold new to an owner in Denmark. The Jaguar later passed to a second Danish keeper, who commissioned performance upgrades by the world’s preeminent XJ220 authority Don Law Racing in the United Kingdom, including attention to the brakes and clutch. In February 2015 the Jaguar was sold to its third caretaker, the Germany-based consignor. Shortly after, SMS Engineering was tasked with conducting a refresh that included a partial rebuild of the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V-6 engine, attention to the brakes, clutch, and steering components, and the installation of a new fuel tank. In 2016, the coachwork was beautifully refinished in Le Mans Blue and the driver’s seat was reupholstered, further contributing to the car’s current state of authentic presentation. This was followed by additional attention by Don Law in 2018 that principally consisted of a comprehensive rebuild of the engine to original factory specifications. It is important to note that a stamping corresponding to the JDHT certificate clarifies that this XJ220 retains its matching-numbers engine. As detailed by a file of service invoices, the Jaguar has been dutifully maintained over the last 10 years, including the installation of a custom muffler and repairs to the air conditioning system by Autohaus Konrad Schmidt in 2020; plus a full service in April 2024 that included the fitment of a new clutch and belts. This XJ220 is sure to experience a warm welcome at owners’ club gatherings and marque-focused events. Chassis number 220773 would make a wonderful addition to any sporting collection, particularly suited for enthusiasts of late-20th Century benchmark supercars. 1994 Jaguar XJ220 RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Dispatched from the factory in June 1993, customer order number 048 (as evidenced by the doorsill embossment) was sold new to an owner in Denmark. - 1965 Aston Martin DB5 2
Popularized by James Bond “Goldfinger” Limited production of only 193 left-hand drive examples Concours-quality restoration completed in 2023 Electronic ignition and steering assist system Rare Numbers Matching Example – Heritage Certificate Factory build documentation and restoration invoices dating back to 2002 Owner’s manual, tools, spare wheel/tire, hammer, jack The 1965 Aston Martin DB5 is not just a car; it's a symbol of automotive excellence, luxury, and timeless elegance. Its significance transcends mere transportation, representing the pinnacle of British engineering and craftsmanship. With its sleek and aerodynamic design, handcrafted interior, and powerful performance, the DB5 captured the hearts of enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike from the moment it rolled off the production line. What truly propelled the DB5 into the realm of legend, however, was its association with the iconic British spy James Bond. Featured prominently in the 1964 film "Goldfinger," the DB5 became Bond's vehicle of choice, outfitted with an array of fictional gadgets, including machine guns, an oil slick dispenser, and an ejector seat. This cinematic exposure catapulted the DB5 to international fame, solidifying its status as the quintessential Bond car and cementing its place in popular culture. As per the factory build sheet on record, chassis number 1990/L came equipped with a Motorola radio featuring a power antenna, a heated rear windscreen, dual Britax three-point safety belts, a Fiamm horn, a fender-mounted sideview mirror, and chrome wheels adorned with Avon Turbospeed GT tires. This distinguished DB5 found its first owner in Oscar Strauss II of New York City. Oscar was a member of the Guggenheim family, who a majority served on several corporate boards and family foundations. In the 1990s, the ownership of the Aston Martin transitioned to Kurt DelBene, a Microsoft executive who later assumed the role of the current Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Information and Technology within the US government. Recognized for his passion for rare sports and racing cars, Mr. DelBene enlisted the expertise of British car specialist Sean Johnson to undertake a cosmetic restoration on the vehicle. After being sold to marque specialist Rocky Santiago, 1990/L found its way to a New York-based dealer, who maintained intermittent care of the vehicle over the subsequent two decades. In March 2003, the DB5 was acquired by Connecticut-based collector Stefano Bruni, who showcased the car at esteemed events such as the 2003 Greenwich Concours d’Elegance and the 2003 AMOC North America Concours at Lime Rock, Connecticut, where it garnered a class award. Following its tenure with at least three additional owners, including a stint under the ownership of a Dubai-based shipping magnate, the Aston Martin was procured in the early 2010s by a collector situated in New England. Under his stewardship, the DB5 continued to benefit from meticulous care, with periodic expert interventions such as the installation of a Harvey Bailey suspension kit aimed at enhancing handling, alongside the fitting of a modern aluminum radiator to optimize engine cooling efficiency. In June of 2018, the Aston Martin was acquired by a noted car collector with numerious 1st place concours awards for cars from his esteemed collection, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The gentleman entrusted “Raffi Najjarian of The Pit Stop”, a concours winning restoration expert in the Bay Area, to do a ground up restoration of this legendary DB5. As part of the restoration process, the coachwork underwent a meticulous repaint in the iconic vintage Aston Martin racing green hue, while the interior was reupholstered in dark green leather. Extensive mechanical refurbishments were undertaken, including the rebuilding of the driveshaft assembly, brakes, suspension, carburetors, steering, and instruments. Additionally, components such as the fuel pump, water pump, oil cooler, motor mounts, and transmission mounts were replaced to ensure optimal performance. The final touches and detailing were entrusted to the esteemed specialists at Kevin Kay Restorations. Detailed invoices reveal that the comprehensive restoration amounted to over $390,000, resulting in one of the most exceptional DB5 examples to be encountered. The Aston Martin has been thoughtfully enhanced with the addition of electronic ignition and an electronic steering assist system, enhancing its suitability for long-distance touring adventures. With these upgrades, the DB5 is poised to make a distinguished appearance at prestigious concours d’elegance events and marque gatherings. It is important to highlight that 1990/L still retains its original matching-numbers engine, significantly enhancing the car’s authenticity and value. Presented with an owner’s manual and tools, this beautifully restored DB5 represents an exceptionally well-maintained example of Aston Martin’s most iconic model. Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through an extensive and diligent process called the “Canepa Difference.” This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They also receive award-winning concours-level detailing, including a thorough cleaning of each and every surface. 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Canepa If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988 Ferrari 412 - Classiche Certified
Produced between 1985 and 1989, the Ferrari 412 was the final flowering of the 400 series of luxurious four-seaters that had commenced with the introduction of the 365GT/4 2+2 in 1972. Launched at the 1976 Paris Salon, the succeeding 400GT gained a 4.8-litre version of the four-cam V12 engine, but otherwise differed only in detail. Following successful experiments carried out by engineers in the US, the 400 became the first Ferrari to offer automatic transmission as an option. The unit chosen - General Motors 3-speed Hydra-Matic 400 - was widely regarded as the world's best, having been used by Cadillac and subsequently by Rolls-Royce and Jaguar among others. Flagship of the Maranello range, the splendidly equipped 400GT featured self-levelling independent rear suspension, power-assisted steering, electric windows and optional air conditioning. Its arrival reaffirmed Ferrari's determination to compete with the world's finest luxury saloons. Representing evolution rather than revolution, the 412 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1985. The newcomer enjoyed a small (119cc) capacity increase, anti-lock brakes, revised interior and bumpers colour coordinated with the bodywork, while an improved front air dam and raised boot deck reduced the 412's already low co-efficient of drag by around 10%. By the time production ceased in 1989, Ferrari's finest 2+2 had been in production for a remarkable 17 years, though its exclusivity meant that there were seldom more than 200 sold in any one year. The detailed history file that accompanies this elegant Ferrari confirms that it was bought by its first owner, a Mr. Steinberg, from H.R. Owen, London on 18th March 1988 and registered as E930 MUC. Some three years later, Mr. Gidwaney, a director of E.W. Fact PLC, bought the car on 16th January 1991, transferring it later into his company's name on 14th February 1994. The third owner, as it were, was a Mr. Ballard who kept the car for some 18 months from 29th November 1996 until, on 2nd May 1998, it was sold to a Ms Harrison , who had homes in Edinburgh, London and Monaco. The car was exported to Monte Carlo in 2003 where it was maintained by G Cavallari of Monaco until 2014, going through the exhaustive Ferrari Classiche Certification process and receiving its 'Red Book' in 2009. Repatriated to the UK in 2018, it was subject to restorative and recommissioning works, including a repaint by Edinburgh-based specialists, Stewart Roden, at a cost of some £29,779, prior to being sold to a Dr Scott on 8th February 2018. Hardly used, it subsequently visited H.R. Owen for servicing and additional works in 2022. Purchased in March this year after a long search for 'the right one', our vendor became the car’s next owner and immediately commissioned Iain Tyrrell and his team to use their expertise in getting the car 'properly sorted'. The work involved and the final road test can be viewed online via the Iain Tyrrell Classic Workshop YouTube page and the bill amounted to some £7,000 in September 2024. Acknowledging that he’d probably use the Ferrari less frequently than his other classics, it was decided that the car should be offered to auction 'on its toes' complete with detailed history file, MOT until March 2025 and some 31,200 miles on the odometer. 1988 Ferrari 412 - Classiche Certified Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Produced between 1985 and 1989, the Ferrari 412 was the final flowering of the 400 series of luxurious four-seaters that had commenced with the introduction of the 365GT/4 2+2 in 1972. - 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL
People shouldn’t compromise when it comes to pristine beauty. This gorgeous, solid 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL shows why: it leads to pure perfection. That’s exactly how Mercedes meant it when they introduced their “Sport Light” street legal sports car back in 1954. The classic on your screen has a hardtop and a lot of history. No time to read though, when this beauty is in your garage... For us at Prins Classics it’s a pleasant reunion since we were allowed to sell the Mercedes 190 SL once before, 2 years ago, to its former owner. The SL is welcome anytime, however, everything points to a new shelter sometime soon… History Switzerland turned out to be the perfect place to get a clear start in 61 years of automobile history. The iconic German was able to show off with no interference. In the year 2000 she was discovered by the Netherlands. Very Superior Old Cars (VSOC, the name says it all) imported the 190 SL to Sassenheim and fortunately left the unspoiled Benz unspoiled. 20 years later, the Mercedes promoted to a true “Prins Classic”. And in 2022 it still is. What makes the Mercedes SL an icon? To begin with, she derives from the legendary ”Gullwing”. But instead of having doors going upwards, the roof can come down. Guess what’s more fun to drive... We give you a hint: all successors (6 up to now, excluding the facelift versions) were convertibles. However, as far as we’re concerned, nothing beats the original! Exterior Right up to the front windshield, the 190 SL is almost identical to the Gullwing. Both the coupe and the cabriolet can be recognized by a timeless design with round headlights, chrome bumper parts and a large grille. The Mercedes star has a prominent place in the grille. Characteristic are also the wheel arches: all four have a straight horizontal line, finished with chrome. The vertical chrome part halfway the windshield – splitting the screen visually in two, is something we know from the 1950s. The sleek Slate Grey lacquer suits the 190 SL wonderfully and is a perfect fit to the red leather interior. Moreover, the dark gray bodywork contrasts beautifully to the shiny chrome parts. In addition to the bumpers and wheel arches, the side skirts, window frames, left mirror on the front screen and even the frames around the headlights have a chrome finish. This Mercedes SL shines bright like a real star! Interior Lowering the black roof increases the view on the red cockpit. And that’s exactly what you want. As an unadulterated attraction, the typical 1950s dashboard including double round instruments, 2-spoke steering wheel in white/chrome, chrome ashtray and original Becker Monte-Carlo radio enchants enthusiasts like no other. Once taking a seat, you will immediately notice the splendid condition of the SL interior. Meantime, the analog timepiece is mounted in the dashboard; where do we see such details nowadays? The rear-view mirror is right in the middle of the dashboard, at the point where the windshield is “split”. The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is the kind of car you always want to sit in, even when you’re not driving. Technique & performance Anyway, we recommend you take the classic Benz for a spin every now and then. The W121 has a 1.9 liter 4-cylinder engine producing 105 hp. This may seem modest for a sports car, but the Mercedes 190 SL still is a ”Sport Leicht” model, so why go crazy with horsepower? Nevertheless, the engine character and independent suspension are typical Mercedes: very comfortable. And that’s exactly what you need while driving a true treasure on wheels.
