- 1960 Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider
When the Alfa Romeo 2000 was first put into production in 1958, it was designed as a more upscale alternative to the smaller Giulietta coupes, sedans and spiders the company was selling at the time. Initially designed as a 6-passenger saloon car, the 2000 line was developed to include a convertible and a coupe within the first two years of production. Powered by a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, these cars were built to cruise at high speed for hours on end and were the perfect method of transportation to whisk you and a passenger to your lake house for the weekend. Although the sedans were all produced in-house at Alfa Romeo, the bodies for the spider were produced by Touring, while the coupes were built at the Bertone factory. This 1960 2000 Touring Spider was sold new through the legendary US importer Max Hoffman to a buyer in New York in 1961. It was enjoyed in the United States for nearly 35 years before being exported back to its homeland, ending up in Florence sometime in 1995. Presented in the ultimate Alfa Romeo color scheme of Red with a black leather interior, this car has been comprehensively restored and is in outstanding condition throughout. This car is an absolute wonder to behold in person- from many angles the shape is very reminiscent of Ferraris of the era, but has its own unique touches like the almost gill-like vents along the lower edge of the front fenders. With the 2000 Touring Spider, you can tell a car was originally destined for America by the hood vents- the US cars had both of the inlets positioned right next to one another with a chrome strip separating them, while the European cars had the openings placed further apart on the hood. The main reason that this car was chosen to be restored was that it was already a very clean example that retained all of its numbers matching componentry. But that is not to say that the restorers splashed some paint on it and moved along. Photos of the restoration-which are included- show that master craftsmen spared no effort or expense in the recommissioning of this car and it was completed with the utmost care and consideration This resulted in what can only be described as a Concours-level example. The restoration was completed in 2018 and has been used enough to work through the post-restoration punch list but still looks fresh and as if it had just rolled out of the workshop. The black leather interior of the car is classic Alfa Romeo- exceptionally simple, yet everything is truly elegant. Sitting in the driver’s seat, you look through the top of the 3-spoke wheel at a large tachometer and speedometer in front of you- although basic, everything from the shape of the needles to the font used on the dials brings you back to a more stylish time. Flanking those two gauges are a pair of split gauges that help you keep track of the car’s temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure and a slew of HVAC controls sit directly under the dash on pusher levers. A set of floor-hinged pedals help you operate the 5-speed manual gearbox and an original-style radio sits in the center of the dash with “All Transistor” scrawled in cursive across the top. The inside is a glorious place to spend time and thanks to the comprehensive restoration, everything appears in nearly as-new condition. Between 1958 and 1961, fewer than 3445 Touring Spiders were produced and due to rust, the number of cars remaining is significantly fewer. Arguably one of Alfa Romeo’s most elegant road cars, the 2000 Touring Spider really fills the role of a baby Ferrari 250 in many ways yet is far easier to run and live with. Given this example’s outstanding, well-documented restoration, replicating one to this standard would be exceptionally expensive and time-consuming. This US-spec example is ready to find its new owner and provide years of top-down driving enjoyment. 1960 Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1973 Alfa Romeo 1600 Junior Zagato
Highlights of this Alfa Romeo One of 402 1600cc Junior Zagatos produced Formerly displayed at Zagato Factory Collection showroom Documented with ASI Certificate and Badge General History With a robust and colorful history building some of the most capable sports cars, Alfa Romeo has been a leader in establishing many firsts in vehicle design. Given their history and numerous years of partnership with coachbuilders, it was no surprise when Alfa Romeo and Zagato partnered to produce the 1600 Junior Zagato. Offered from 1969-1975, the car was produced by Zagato, under the direction of Ercole Spada, who had already penned numerous other significant designs including the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato and Alfa Romeo TZ1 and TZ2. Working at Zagato, Spadas designs had long been recognized as some of the most advanced for their time, in part because of his obsession with high-speed aerodynamics. Using the Alfa Romeo Giulia as the working platform, the mechanical systems and drivetrain were essentially identical to the Giulia. However, it was the body design and Avant Garde interior features that boldly set the Junior Zagato apart, not just from other Alfa Romeos of the day, but nearly every other car of that period. The Junior Zagato body was sharp and aggressive, with angular details that were way ahead of cars from this era. The expansive glass, spacious interior, and unusual grille treatment were like no other car on the market. The rear hatch could be raised and lowered via an electronic switch on the dash, and the clear plexiglass cover for the front of the car was both futuristic and novel for a production car. Many of these features would be emulated in modern car designs decades later, proving once again the vision behind Spada’s forward thinking. Initially powered by the 1300cc engine, in 1972 the 1600cc engine replaced it, offering more power to an already very capable car. Just 1,500 examples were constructed during the six-year production run, 402 of which were the desirable 1600cc version in the final years of production. Owner History This example is documented with period ACI paperwork and accompanied by an Automotoclub Storico Italiano identity certificate and badge. Though the earliest history has yet to be confirmed, documents accompanying the car support ownership in 1980 and 1998 when it was known to be in Napoli, Italy. During this time, this Alfa Romeo was on display at the Zagato Factory Collection, displayed at the Zagato factory showroom, and served as a support vehicle for Zagato during their participation in the Mille Miglia Storico. By 2017, Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) president, Mark Gessler, had become the owner, followed by Florida collector Leo Schigiel. Cosmetic Overview Today, this Junior Zagato presents in very attractive condition having benefited from a repaint in factory correct white over what appears to be a very well-maintained original car. The finish is glossy and smooth, applied over handsomely finished Zagato coachwork. The polished features, distinct exterior details. and various trim are all in excellent condition, particularly the exceptionally hard to find grille trim, and rare curved plastic fascia. The doors, hood, and rear hatch open and shut with confidence and panel fit is excellent, particularly for hand-built cars of this era. The emblems and Zagato coachwork badges confidently flank both the front fenders and the rear Kamm tail. The familiar painted silver Alfa Romeo slotted wheels are in excellent condition and sit perfectly under the gently flared wheel wells, leaning dynamically forward accentuating the innovative angular design. The black interior is in excellent condition throughout. The front seats have been reupholstered with correct high-quality materials, while the remaining interior appears to be original including the headliner and correct carpeting. The door panels, center console, and beautifully contoured seats present harmoniously. The low-profile bucket seats are in excellent condition with proper foam padding and bolster support. Even the unique fold down headrests are correctly covered with matching materials. The unique dashboard is in excellent condition with correct instrumentation and the 5-speed manual transmission is easily reached at the upper center console. The gauges and controls feature excellent color and contrast, and a correct Alfa Romeo badged wood-rimmed steering wheel is in place. Lifting the rear hatch, the storage area is correctly finished and properly trimmed with matching black carpet, offering space for soft weekend luggage. Additionally, the rear hatch can be electronically raised and lowered via a dash switch, allowing more effective cabin ventilation when cruising at highway speeds. The spare tire is stored underneath the carpeted rear hatch and contains a matching spare tire and jack. The forward hinging hood allows for easy access to the engine compartment. Both the engine and engine compartment are properly presented with correct finishes, original components, and correct hardware. The engine is numbered AR00536.54111, outfitted with desirable twin dual-throat Weber carburetors. The Alfa Romeo twin cam head, correct European air cleaner housing, proper hoses, factory features are all present. The underside of the car is very well sorted, including what appears to be a recently replaced exhaust system and mufflers, a pair of rear axle limit straps, newer Boge front shock absorbers, and very good visual condition to the various alloy castings for the engine and differential. The chassis and various suspension mounts show no evidence of structural compromise and there is no visible evidence of corrosion on the major components or structural chassis members. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a rare, interesting, and highly desirable Alfa Romeo. Italian coachwork, twin cam engine, and 5-speed manual gearbox often make for an impossibly expensive combination in this hobby. And yet the 1600 Junior Zagato can be purchased and readily serviced without mortgaging your home. The growing vintage Alfa Romeo community is quickly realizing the enjoyable traits of these unique performance cars for events, Alfa club gatherings, or simply enjoying the benefits of leisurely cruising through country roads. Included with this car The car is accompanied by the ASI badge, a factory jack, safety triangle and case, and a tool case with assorted tools. 1973 Alfa Romeo 1600 Junior Zagato Fantasy Junction If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1969-lancia-fulvia-coupe-rallye-16-hf-fanalone
One of the approximately 20 Fanalones built in 1969 by Lancia in RHD at the request of Lancia GB Ltd. These cars were identical to the LHD Fanalones mechanically but for the UK market were fitted with stainless steel bumpers, glass to the side windows instead of Plexi and had thin floor carpets instead of rubber mats. This particular chassis 1103 is one of the first road cars built after the works competition cars. It is finished in the rare colour of Jamaica Blue and has the optional Fusina steering wheel. It was first registered on the 3rd September 1969 in Cheshire but I have no information as yet on either the first or second owner. The third owner I believe was David Scheldt of Scheldt and Pettet, Lancia specialists in London. I understand he used the car in various competition events over a number of years before eventually selling it to the fourth owner David MacKenzie? of London. He restored the car over a number of years and it appeared at an event at Covent Garden in September 2003. The car was then acquired in 2009 by the fifth owner, a Swiss gentleman, who had homes in the UK. He undertook a complete mechanical refresh both at Richard Thorne and Omicron where the engine and gearbox were rebuilt. I purchased the car from Lukas Huni, Zurich, Switzerland in 2013. The car had not been formally exported from the UK so retained it’s UK V5. It has required further cosmetic work in my ownership to get it to the condition it is in today and has covered about 3K miles since the engine / gearbox rebuild. 1969 Lancia Fulvia Coupe Rallye 1.6 HF Fanalone The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. Mercedes-Benz introduced the W113 model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 as the successor to two models at once: the 300 SL and the 190 SL. The new roadster, commonly known as the “Pagoda” due to the distinctive shape of its removable hardtop, replaced both. The W113 was the first SL to feature a safety body structure. Its floorpan, suspension and steering were largely derived from the contemporary S-Class (W111). Between 1963 and 1971, a total of 48,912 examples were produced. The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL offered here was imported from the United States to Germany several years ago and subsequently underwent a complete restoration under the supervision of its current owner, who is the proprietor of a Mercedes-Benz dealership. During the restoration, the car was visually converted to European specifications. The stamped engine number and the attractive Light Ivory colour correspond to the original delivery specification. A Classic Data valuation report and the Mercedes-Benz data card are available. The restoration is comprehensively documented with numerous invoices. The vehicle is currently registered in Germany. 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Thiesen Hamburg GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1993 Venturi 400 Trophy
One of 73 400 Trophy’s built by Venturi for the 1993 season, this particular example is chassis 0062, which was acquired new by American gentleman racer James Sheehan, and subsequently campaigned by him in the Venturi Trophy series in a bright yellow livery featuring an American flag covering the roof. However, 0062 would not race the full season as Mr. Sheehan defaulted on installment payments owed to Venturi for his car, seeing Venturi seize ownership of the car where it remained dormant until being acquired by the second owner, a French collector, who retained 0062 in his private collection for a significant period of time until 2010. During his custodianship, 0062 participated minimally in track day events before changing hands twice more, the second time being its acquisition by The Ascott Collection in 2013, who sold it to the fifth owner in 2015 who displayed it at the fabled French automobile show, Retromobile. Since 2015, 0062 would change ownership twice more, where most recently it raced in the 2017 Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or, Europe’s oldest historic car meet at the Dijon-Prenois circuit, before being acquired by its current American owner and moving to the United States. Today 0062 benefits greatly from its lack of on-track racing in most rounds of the Venturi Trophy series during 1993, and subsequent minimal track days, as it presents in highly preserved condition with its original bodywork, never having been crashed or wrecked - a truly rare feat for a 400 Trophy. 0062 is turn-key and waiting to effortlessly hound race tracks the world over, or participate in the highest caliber historic racing series. 1993 Venturi 400 Trophy The Cultivated Collector LLC If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1985 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6
Revealed in 1972, Giorgetto Giugiaro’s striking Alfetta fastback wedge design directly resulted from the challenging brief of delivering a replacement for Alfa Romeo’s successful predecessor being the 105 series car. The final design wowed the public and its stunning looks are as beautiful today as they were some fifty years ago. Alfetta “little Alfa” in Italian, derived its name from the nickname of the 1951 Formula One Tipo 159 Alfetta which also paired a transaxle layout to De Dion tube rear suspension. The rear De Dion transaxle (clutch and transmission) provided the new Alfetta with excellent weight distribution and lower centre of gravity, with these handling advantages widely acknowledged by the motoring press. The transaxle design, in combination with a Watt’s parallelogram linkage, inboard rear brakes and a well-located De Dion rear suspension, resulted in balanced traction and handling. The front suspension design was unusual in that it incorporated independent longitudinal torsion bar springs acting directly onto the lower wishbones and with separate dampers. Overall, it was a sophisticated and progressive set-up and one that delivered outstanding results when the Alfetta went into competition. During its life, it won events and championships across the globe both on track and in rally guise. They continue to successfully compete to this today in classic race events. When launched the Alfetta GT was powered by the 1.8 litre version of the Alfa DOHC four (taken from the previous 105 series cars). In 1976 this was discontinued in favour of 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre options. Over the subsequent years several updates were made to both engines and the appearance of the cars. In late 1980 Alfa Romeo coupled the cars excellent handling with its legendary V6 ‘Busso’ engine and the GTV 6 2.5 was born. The V6 received rave reviews and it found its true home in the GTV 6’s striking body where it could demonstrate its ample capabilities underlined with its race successes. Indeed, it won the European Touring Car Championship an unprecedented fours year in a row (1982-85), the British Touring Car Championship in 1983 along with many other events across Europe. Incredibly it placed third in 1986 in a round of the World Rally Championship and at this point it was competing against the might of the Group B cars. More locally ,Colin Bond successfully campaigned the famous yellow Alfetta GTV6 at Bathurst and other significant events and as late as 1987, Greg Carr won the Australian Rally Championship with one. By this point the GTV6 cemented its position as an Alfa Romeo legend and its affection within the Alfa Romeo community is enduring. Our car; chassis 03003853. The current owner of this car is the former Test Cricketer Greg Ritchie, who has owned 4 Alfetta GTV’s and is fanatical about them. He purchased this car 7 years ago with the intention of fulfilling the lifelong ambition of taking a GTV6 to next level in terms of performance, comfort, and condition. He took the car which he’d owned for 2 years and then set about a full body restoration removing any corrosion and replacing with new metal where required. Originally silver, the car was repainted in correct Rosso 530. A full photographic record of this work accompanies the car. The paint shows some signs of wear with some stone chips to the front area and door edges. A sunroof is fitted however this has been sealed. The real focus was on the performance and a 3.0 V6 was sourced, completely rebuilt, and installed into the car. The performance of the motor was also improved, and the result is a car that is simply thrilling drive with an intoxicating engine note from its legendary ‘Busso’ V6. All work including the full engine rebuild was conducted by known specialists and this is documented. The interior was in excellent original order; however, the owner wished to improve the seating and sourced both front and rear seats in full leather. They are incredibly comfortable whilst the original ‘net’ head rests are a particularly appealing feature. Where required the gauges were restored and overall, the interior now presents extremely well, and is a lovely place to be. There is one small crack on the dash, but this is out of line of sight. The air-conditioning unit works perfectly and has been recently serviced. Every electrical item works as it should and even the clock keeps perfect time. Turn the key and the car starts with a familiar Alfa Romeo growl. Blip the throttle and the V6 provides its appealing tone. Out on the open road this car is exceptional and its lift in performance is very noticeable particularly in the mid-range where the additional torque is beneficial. When you push the ‘loud pedal’ this car really wants to go and keep going! Ordinarily the gearbox’s on GTV’s can be a little vague, however with recent work done this example it is precise and easy to work very quickly through the gears. Likewise, the brakes and steering are incredibly good, inspiring confidence when you want to push on. 1985 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 Сlassic Сar Market If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Revealed in 1972, Giorgetto Giugiaro’s striking Alfetta fastback wedge design directly resulted from the challenging brief of delivering a replacement for Alfa Romeo’s successful predecessor being the 105 series car. - 1994 Ferrari F333 SP
‘Il Sogno Americano’ When Luca di Montezemolo greenlit the development of what would become the F333 SP, he heralded Ferrari’s return to endurance racing’s top flight for the first time in over two decades. Originally designed in partnership with Dallara for privateer teams to contest the newly formed IMSA World Sports Car Championship (WSC) in America, the F333 SP was the brainchild of Gianpiero Moretti, the Italian motorsport magnate and the founder of MOMO. You see Moretti had enjoyed much success racing in the United States, yet by 1993, one goal eluded him: to win in a Ferrari sports car. With the radical change in the IMSA rulebook, the timing was impeccable. He called the F333 SP Il Sogno Americano – his American dream. Ferrari’s return to endurance racing naturally made waves right across the motorsport world – exactly the kind of momentum the IMSA organisers needed. And there was much to be excited about: a strong and sophisticated monocoque chassis, a stunning body honed exactly to the WSC regulations in Dallara’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel, and a four-litre V12 engine derived from that in the 641 Formula 1 single-seater – a car which won six Grands Prix in the 1990 season. A special note must be made for the engine note produced by this engine: a shrill yet melodic howl that sends shivers down the spine. Ferrari had intended to publicly display the 1m-US-dollar F333 SP for the first time in the paddock during the 1994 Daytona 24 Hours (it wasn’t quite ready to race by this point). But such was the fervour surrounding the introduction of the new car that the race organisers feared it would detract from the on-track action. Ferrari was instead forced to hire a suite at the nearby Hilton hotel and arrange private viewings of the car by appointment! “The inherent pace and reliability of the F333 SP coupled with both Ferrari and privateer outfits’ nous for upgrading it in line with ever-changing technical regulations meant it enjoyed extraordinary competition longevity.” The inherent pace and reliability of the F333 SP coupled with both Ferrari and privateer outfits’ nous for upgrading it in line with ever-changing technical regulations meant it enjoyed extraordinary competition longevity. F333 SPs were a successful staple of endurance racing not only in America but around the world for almost a decade, only bowing out in 2003 when Audi had found its groove with the all-conquering R8. The statistics speak for themselves: 126 races, 47 wins and 12 major championships. Only 40 examples were produced, the first four by Ferrari in Maranello, the next nine by Dallara in Varano and the remaining chassis by Michelotto in Padova. Chassis number 003 As its chassis number denotes, the F333 SP we’re honoured to be offering – 003 – was the third example produced and thus built by Ferrari in Maranello. Prior to delivery to its first private owner, Andy Evans of Scandia Motorsport in the United States, Ferrari took the opportunity to exhibit this F333 SP on its stand at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show, among its entire range of road-going models. Chassis 003’s first public appearance on European soil set the rumour mill swirling, for the motorsport world believed it signalled the Prancing Horse’s intentions to return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In part, the rumours were true. Shortly after the Geneva salon, this F333 SP was sent across the pond where it was poised to contest select rounds of the 1994 IMSA GT Championship in the top-flight WSC category. Racing under the Scandia Motorsport banner, chassis 003 was raced primarily by the team owner and Wall Street banker Andy Evans, with guest drivers including Ross Bentley, Charles Morgan and Fermín Vélez. And it proved to be a successful campaign. Two podiums – in The New England Dodge Dealers Grand Prix at Lime Rock and the Indy Grand Prix at Indianapolis – were crowned by a stellar outright victory in the Monterey Sports Car Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. Evans’ 169 points were good for fourth overall in the title standings. The 1995 IMSA World Sports Car Championship beckoned for this Ferrari F333 SP, which was once again racing for Andy Evans’ Scandia Motorsport outfit. If the curtain-raising Daytona 24 Hours didn’t go the number-three crew’s way (the engine gave up the ghost) then the 12 Hours of Sebring which followed more than made up for it. Unusually for the Florida endurance classic, proceedings were plagued by inclement weather, so much so that the race had to be halted for an hour as darkness fell. Evans and his copilots Fermín Vélez and Eric van de Poele engaged in a race-long tussle with the Chevrolet-powered Spice of endurance veterans Derek Bell, Andy Wallace, Jan Lammers and Morris Shirazi. But when the chequered flag fell, it was the F333 SP of Scandia Motorsport which crossed the line first, claiming an emphatic victory. It was the first time a Ferrari had triumphed at Sebring since Messrs. Andretti and Ickx in 1972 – 23 years prior. The incredible result was nothing short of a fairy tale. Highlights for chassis 003 from the remainder of the 1995 season included podiums at Lime Rock and Sears Point and an excellent outright victory in the 2 Hours of Phoenix. After what had been a stellar year of racing, Fermín Vélez was crowned the IMSA Exxon World Sports Car Championship Drivers’ champion and Ferrari duly won the manufacturers’ gong. While this F333 SP did contest the final three rounds of the following year’s IMSA World Sports Car Championship, chassis 003’s 1996 was predominantly preoccupied by the world’s greatest endurance motor race: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Mounting an assault on the French endurance classic was a significant undertaking, necessitating an alliance from Evans’ Scandia Motorsport outfit. It teamed up with the fellow American team RocketSports Racing, which would enter chassis number 003 at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Ahead of Le Mans, Dallara had worked closely with acclaimed designer Tony Southgate to optimise the F333 SP’s bodywork for the Circuit de la Sarthe’s long straights – an update chassis 003 duly received. The package included smoother bodywork with a large side-mounted air intake, extra-thin low-drag splitter and front wing, lateral deflectors to reduce cockpit turbulence and new four-piston Brembo brake calipers. At the traditional Le Mans pre-qualifying session in April of 1996, the raw pace of the revised F333 SP quickly became apparent: chassis 003, driven by Paul Gentilozzi and Eric van de Poele, recorded a best lap time of 3min48.6sec – good enough for second overall behind the second Scandia Motorsport-entered F333 SP. Early signs were looking promising for Andy Evans’ outfit and, more pertinently, the Prancing Horse. Suffice to say, all eyes in Maranello were on Scandia Motorsport for the 24 Hours proper. At the Circuit de la Sarthe in June, the Scandia Motorsport/RocketSports Racing Ferrari F333 SP was given the race number 18 and earmarked for chassis 003 regulars Andy Evans and Fermín Vélez. They were joined by the 1995 French Touring Car Champion Yvan Muller. After Wednesday’s opening qualifying sessions, Eric Van de Poele in the sister Scandia Motorsport Ferrari was on provisional pole position and the chassis 003 crew were an impressive seventh, illustrating the blistering pace of the Le Mans-spec F333 SP. If it wasn’t already clear, the 12-cylinder Prancing Horse was certainly the car to beat. Naturally it didn’t take long for the news to reach Maranello. Ferrari’s top brass was confident yet cautious and actually urged Evans to not risk the cars in Thursday’s subsequent sessions but instead focus on setting them up for the race itself. Naturally, Evans heeded the advice, even if it meant sacrificing pole position. Alas, come Saturday and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Lady Luck was not smiling on the Scandia Motorsport team. Evans started in the number 18 – an eventful stint which culminated in a rather red-faced retirement when his F333 SP ran out of fuel around two hours into the race. “Eric Van de Poele in the sister Ferrari was on provisional pole position, illustrating the blistering pace of the F333 SP. If it wasn’t already clear, the 12-cylinder Prancing Horse was certainly the car to beat.” In the long competition career of this Ferrari F333 SP, its zenith was arguably reached at the beginning of the 1997 IMSA World Sports Car Championship. Evans, who by this point had acquired a controlling stake of the International Motor Sports Association, had two last dalliances with chassis number 003 ahead of him – and in the two most prestigious races on the calendar to boot: the Daytona 24 Hours and the 12 Hours of Sebring. A bumper field of 80 cars took to the start of the Daytona 24 Hours in 1997, 16 of which were vying for outright honours in the World Sports Car class. Andy Evans and Fermín Vélez were joined in chassis number 003 by the American brothers Charles and Rob Morgan for the twice-round-the-clock affair. And they got off to a great start on the world-famous banking, Fermín Vélez entering a lap of 1min40.5sec – pole position and almost half a second quicker than the Moretti Racing-entered Ferrari F333 SP. Despite narrowly missing out on victory in the race (the Dyson Racing Riley & Scott crossed the finish line a paltry lap ahead), a second-place trophy and the fastest race lap were very welcome spoils for Scandia Motorsport. The 1997 12 Hours of Sebring presented Scandia’s Andy Evans with a scenario never seen in top-flight motorsport before, nor we suspect since. Not only did he own the team running the car he was due to race, but he also owned the series in which he was racing and the Sebring International Raceway itself. The Daytona driver lineup may have been proven, but Evans couldn’t resist adding a little spice for this most special of occasions. The Swedish Formula 1 veteran Stefan Johansson and the French four-time Le Mans winner Yannick Dalmas were drafted in to support Evans and Vélez. The partnership would prove to be a fruitful one: for the second time in its career, chassis 003 triumphed in the classic Florida endurance race. To our knowledge, there is only one other Ferrari chassis to have won the 12 Hours of Sebring on two occasions and that’s the 250 TRI/61 chassis number 0792 TR. Evans finally parted with chassis number 003 after his spectacular Sebring victory, selling the Ferrari to Charles Morgan, who’d formed part of the formidable trio of pilots at Daytona and Sebring. For the remainder of the 1997 IMSA season, the Ferrari was campaigned under the Dibos Racing banner and driven predominantly by Edoardo Dibos, Fermín Vélez and Eliseo Salazar. The owner of the Italian team G.L.V. Brums Giuseppe Prevosti acquired chassis number 003 in early 1998, returning the car to Europe for the first time since it was born and entering the newly-formed International Sports Racing Series (ISRS), which had been conceived solely for open-cockpit sports-racing cars. As the FIA officially recognised the ISRS, so the series was renamed the Sports Racing World Cup for the 1999 season. G.L.V. Brums once again campaigned the car, this time in all nine rounds. The team did not veer from the dependable driver duo of Giovanni Lavaggi and Gaston Mazzacane, who picked up two podiums and a stunning outright victory at Magny-Cours in France. Four further podium finishes for this Ferrari in the 2000 Sports Racing World Cup helped G.L.V. Brums to finish fourth in the manufacturers’ standings. And even with a Judd V10 engine fitted in place of the Ferrari V12, chassis 003 managed to win the 1000KM di Monza, round two of the FIA Sportscar Championship, in 2001. Seven years after it made its competitive debut, this Ferrari was still winning top-flight sports-car races. It’s a testament to the inherent pace of the F333 SP. Its extraordinary competition career finally over, chassis number 003 was honourably retired at the end of 2003. Reunited with its original Ferrari 12-cylinder engine, the car was kept by Prevosti in his personal collection for almost a decade – telling of the affinity he clearly held for it. This F333 SP’s current owner, an American collector with a plethora of ultra-significant competition Ferraris including a 250 LM and a 312 PB, purchased the car directly from Prevosti in 2012. In the 11 years since, said collector has spent over 500,000 US dollars on restoring, preparing and maintaining this Ferrari sports prototype to the nth degree. In 2019, the car was submitted for the all-important Ferrari Classiche certification – certification it duly received, confirming the originality of the chassis, engine and gearbox. Refinished in its 1995 Sebring-winning livery, chassis 003 shows only three hours of use on its powertrain since the last rebuild and is presented in exquisite condition – as the photographs illustrate. “In 2019, chassis 003 was submitted for the all-important Ferrari Classiche certification – certification it duly received, confirming the originality of the chassis, engine and gearbox.” As Ferrari won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 for the first time since 1965, so new light has been cast on the Prancing Horse’s star-studded back catalogue of endurance competition cars. And given its extraordinary competition longevity and stunning record of results, the F333 SP is a car which absolutely deserves to be held among the greatest of them all – 250 P, 330 P4 and 312 PB included. To say we’re honoured to be offering chassis 003 would be an understatement of epic proportions: this car has so many alluring strings to its bow, not least its origins in Maranello and near decade-long competition career in both America and Europe, encompassing five outright victories and the world’s greatest endurance motor races from Daytona to Le Mans. That it won the 12 Hours of Sebring is a remarkable achievement, especially given the Prancing Horse’s then 23-year absence from the race. That it’s one of only two Ferrari chassis in history to have done it twice is nothing short of miraculous. This F333 SP’s string of mere four private owners in almost 30 years, its painstaking recent restoration and maintenance work and its Ferrari Classiche certification are crowning characteristics. To return this most special of Ferraris to the racetrack, either as part of Ferrari’s ultra-exclusive F1 Clienti programme or either of the burgeoning Endurance Racing Legends series, would be an experience to cherish forever. 1994 Ferrari F333 SP Girardo & Co. - 1995 Porsche Guntherwerks GWX 'Bubblegum'
Gunther Werks takes a slightly different approach to reinterpreting the classic 911. With a single-minded focus on delivering the ultimate analogue driver experience based on the traditional air-cooled 911 configuration. Each of the 25 Gunther Werks 400Rs are based on Porsche’s 993 platform; the final air-cooled iteration of the 911 and platform that brought with it the most advanced suspension set up of any 911 to date. The premise behind Gunther Werks efforts is the ‘GT3’ that was never built; if Porsche had continued the air-cooled lineage beyond the 993 and what the ultimate iteration would look like. Much has been learned from a technical stand point since the end of 993 production in 1998. All of the panels bar the doors are now made from carbon fibre, a weight saving endeavour that continues through the cabin with the rear-seat delete, bespoke carbon fibre seats and aerospace-grade lightweight fabrics and results in a dry weight of just 1,200 kg. The bespoke bodywork, evoking the spirit of Porsche’s period Le Mans efforts, offers a square track with sizeable 245 front tyres and 315 wide rears. Uprated brakes sit behind with a fully adjustable KW Clubsport coilover setup engineering around bespoke tie-rods and arms. A front-axle lift kit ensures the 400 R is practical when needed, and further upgrades have been carried out across the driveline ensuring the driver is very much the focus. The 400R is powered by a modern take on the classic air-cooled recipe. Handbuilt by Rothsport Racing, the engine retains its original crankcase but nothing else. Custom forged Carillio conrods, bespoke Mahle pistons, a 4.0 GT3 crankshaft, oil pump, individual throttle bodies with high-flow injectors and twin-plug ignition. The result is a powerplant that offers 438hp at 7,800 rpm and 315lb ft at 6,500 rpm. Sitting outside of the 25 produced 400R's, this commission, aptly named 'Bubblegum' is a unique proposition. This example was built after the run of coupes had been completed and still shares many mechanical component from the 400 R with a series of upgrades carried over from the updated model range. To benefit from bespoke features outside of an already hugely limited and exclusive run is a rare opportunity. Bubblegum notably and exclusively features the 'double-bubble' roof panel from the later-introduced 75 unit Turbo, as well as the front bumper from the 1 of 25 Speedster. This example is further equipped with the Gunther Werks 18” T-6061 Forged Aluminium 3 Piece Wheels. This example is finished in three-stage pearlescent pink ultra-fine metallic paint over a black Alcantara interior. Appropriately the interior receives a contrast stitch in Bubblegum pink. The interior recieves the Porsche Classic Communication Management with satellite navigation, a leather trimmed dashboard, carbon fibre door panels and wealth of further carbon fibre and Alcantara trimming. This bespoke commission is the sole UK RHD Guntherwerks, fitted with front axle vehicle lift and fully adjustable suspension. - 1957 Jaguar XK150 DHC
The story behind this collectible... The Jaguar XK150. The successor to the XK120 and XK140. The type name referred to the top speed of the cars in miles per hour. In reality, the 150 just missed that mark, but at the time it was one of the the fastest production cars. That disappointment was the end of it, because they are beautiful cars! The 150 can be distinguished from its predecessors by its curved windshield, which instead of a split window, consists of one whole. The grill in the nose also became slightly wider and the windshield was pushed back slightly moved, making the nose appear a little longer. Our XK150 was completely nut and bolt restored in 2002, leaving the car in absolute top condition again. The interior is a Suffolk & Turley interior and comes from MC Interiors in England. The deep black paint color matches beautifully with the dark walnut wood and white-beige interior with black trim. The hood is white-beige on the outside, but also on the inside, which gives a spacious feeling when closed. In addition to the optically beautiful condition, the necessary overhauls and modifications have been made to make the XK150 even more of a to make a real driver's car. The engine and Getrag five-speed gearbox are complete overhauled. The Getrag gearbox ensures that the Jag also drives very comfortably on the highway. In addition, the Jag is equipped with an Aston Martin/Jaguar power steering, better braking (four-pot brakes at the front, claws at the back) and the electrical part has been converted to 12 volts with an alternating current dynamo. In short; an ultimate gentleman sportscar that is ready for many enjoyable kilometers! 1957 Jaguar XK150 DHC Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1961-alfa-romeo-2000-touring-spider
Let’s be honest: you don’t buy a car like this with your head. You buy it with your heart. And that heart starts beating faster the moment you see this stunning Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider – designed by Carrozzeria Touring in an era when beauty was still drawn by hand. Under the hood lies the legendary 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts – ahead of its time and beloved for its character. 115 hp, a five-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive. Pure mechanics. No filters, no frills. Just your right foot, the sound of the engine, and a horizon full of curves. This particular Spider was born on February 10, 1961, and delivered new in Italy. In 1995, it found its way to the Netherlands, where it underwent a full nut-and-bolt restoration between 2006 and 2008. Since then, it lived the life of a museum piece – quite literally: stored in a private collection, rarely driven, like a bottle of Barolo no one dared to uncork. Until now. We’ve awakened her. New fluids, new spark, new love. She’s been fully brought up to date technically, ready for a second life on the most beautiful roads. What you feel when you get behind the wheel? That’s not nostalgia. That’s passion. Pure and unfiltered. This isn’t a car for everyone. This is a car for someone who understands that style doesn’t follow – it leads. That patina is something you earn. And that sometimes, you shouldn’t think – you should feel. 1961 Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider Cool Classic Club If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
This striking Sierra Cosworth RS500, No 0125 / 500, is offered fresh to market after almost 20 years of continuous ownership and must surely represent one of the most original and unmolested examples to become available in recent times. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2.0-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra 'RS500 Cosworth'. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980s Fast Ford! This particular Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, No 0125 / 500, is offered fresh to market after almost 20 years of continuous ownership and must surely represent one of the most original and unmolested examples to become available in recent times. Prior to purchase in 2004, our vendor made the decision that an RS500 was on his bucket list, but not just any old RS500, it had to be one of the very best. With that in mind, and the object of his desire sourced, an inspection by Alastair Mayne, Graham Goode Racing's Technical and Development Engineer was enlisted to inspect the vehicle to ensure that this was truly original and unmolested, even checking the often abused ‘ECU’ for signs of tampering ! As you would expect all was good and the purchase rubber-stamped with many years of meticulous and fastidious ownership to follow. ‘E290 VFD’ remains in the same condition to this very day with the exception of the front air dam and rear bumper which required minor refinishing to bring back up to the superb and original finish of the remainder of the vehicle and, with the exception of general service items, this is how the RS presents today. With a comprehensive history folder, Dating Certificate and workshop manuals there is little more to say other than that if you are looking for one of the most original, unmolested and desirable Performance Fords, freshly serviced and MOT’d, we suggest that your search may be at an end. 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
