In 1969, Ferrari announced its return to the endurance circuit in style. The 312 P prototype might be the most beautiful race car of all time, and we don’t say that lightly!
This particular model, serial number 0872, was fitted with a Berlinetta body from new. For the 1969 season, a less speedy version took its body from the Spyder configuration.
After failing to finish at Le Mans in 1969 and 1970, it came in 4th in the 1970 Daytona 24hr, and then 6th in the Sebring 12hr in March the same year.
Luigi Chinetti would go on to buy both Berlinettas, adding them to his N.A.R.T racing team.
