Once the Miura was out, the automotive press coined the term— the supercar. In fact the Miura wasn’t the first mid-engine car nor the first performance car, but the numbers were nothing short of impressive: 4.0-liter, transverse V12 pumping out 350hp and rocketing the beast to 60 in just six seconds. After that point, most performance cars became mere GTs.
