A 1963 Jaguar E-type 3.8 Liter Competition Coupe in the characteristic body color, named “Flag Metallic Blue", used by the legendary privateer team, Ecully Ekosse, which conquered the 24 Hours of LeMans with a Jaguar D-type in 1956 and 1957.
Winning 3 consecutive years at the Le Mans, Jaguar was committed to racing with the D-type, not so much with the E-type. Instead, they proactively supported privateer teams. Various measures were taken to compete against the Ferrari 250 GTO which debuted later on. Many race cars exist today which are based on these motifs.
