The Porsche 944 is a series of cars developed based on the Porsche 924 Carrera model and launched in 1982. In terms of price and performance, Porsche positioned the 944 between the most powerful 924 and the 911. In August 1986, the 944 was supplemented by the 944 S, which delivered 190 hp with four valves per cylinder and the same displacement of 2.5 liters. In 1988, the 944 S was replaced by the 944 S2, which achieved an output of 211 hp with a larger displacement of 3 liters and four valves per cylinder. The Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet offered here was delivered in Switzerland, first registered on 1 April 1990 and handed over to its first owner by Auto-Service AG in Basel on the 10th of the month. The sporty convertible with full leather interior was well used and had several owners in Basel, Zurich and Geneva before it was taken over by the consignor in 2021 with 170’000 km on the clock. The service booklet shows that it has always been well maintained and that the last timing belt change, including a new water pump, was carried out in December 2016 at 168’573 km. With 171’300 km now on the clock, the Porsche is in very good condition and has been well looked after. The last veteran MOT took place in April 2022, which means that the 944 S2 can be registered immediately in most German-speaking cantons of Switzerland.
