This example was supplied new to its first keeper on 3rd April 1990 by Motor s.p.a of Bologna. As a 1990 example, this F40 is desirably a non-cat, non-adjust example of the Ferrari’s iconic poster car. This example was sold to renowned Italian Ferrari collector and Claudio Caggiati with whom it resided until 2013. An avid fan of 50s Ferraris, Caggiati notably campaigned his 500 TRC in the Mille Miglia every year between 1993 and 2014, 21 sequential entries! The F40 saw infrequent use and was sold in 2013. Imported into the UK in 2013 by Ferrari dealership Dick Lovett of Swindon, the F40 at this time had covered just 4,400 kilometres at which point the car received its Ferrari red book Classiche certification. Joining a significant collection of cars, the F40 again saw limited use, was placed into storage and sold five years later. In 2018 the F40 travelled to the sunnier and salt-free climes of Australia, imported by Scuderia Graziani of New South Wales. It found ownership in Brisbane where its custodian ensured diligent servicing by Ferrari Brisbane. The most recent owner purchased the F40 in 2020, returning the car to the UK at that time a couple of years later. Residing within our storage facility, the exacting and meticulous current owner requested DK replace all rubbers, hoses, gaskets and seals as a part of a major service as the car had spent much time stationary during its life. As such In 2023, the car passed through our workshops where it received a full mechanical overhaul including the removal of the engine and a subsequently it was decided that a full rebuild be executed, alongside the replacement of its fuel cells, lines and of course cambelts. In August 2024, this example further received an annual service and new clutch release bearing. Residing within our storage facility since, this wonderful example of a non-cat, non-adjust F40 presents superbly ticking many of the must tick boxes for an F40 including body numbers and weave; with just 6,036 km from new it is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
