Developed by Ford and Tickford for Group A homologation, the Sierra RS500 Cosworth is among the most sought-after Performance Fords of the 1980s, with this example being build number 462 and chassis #38958 Finished in Moonstone Blue, one of only 52 produced in this colour, the car is presented in notably good condition with strong paintwork, excellent panel fit, original wheels and a well-preserved interior featuring an uncracked dashboard and original audio equipment Powered by the original YBD Cosworth turbocharged engine numbered YBD0155, paired with a manual gearbox, the car is described as performing well with strong power delivery and has covered just over 62,000 miles Largely remaining in original specification, the only notable changes are a stainless steel exhaust system and Koni suspension, whilst all correct OE RS500 bumpers, spoilers and splitter remain in place and in good order Formerly an ex-Big Power feature car and understood to have once belonged to Adrian Newey in its earlier years, the RS500 was restored back to standard specification in 2012, with further detailed refurbishment to the engine bay carried out around seven to eight years ago Accompanied by service history and an extensive file of invoices dating back many years, this rare Moonstone Blue RS500 offers an appealing opportunity for the collector or enthusiast alike
