The “XKE” is the name that was given to the Jaguar E-Types that were produced for the North American market. Arguably the most well recognized sportscar of the 20th century, the E-type is the perfect combination of beautiful curved lines and high-performance. The Open-Two-Seater is still igniting passions today, just as it did when it was first revealed to the public back in 1961. The iconic Jaguar E-Type has evolved over the years. The initial model had a lack of foot space, uncomfortable seats, massive brake fade and an engine prone to overheating – yet it was loved. Ten years and numerous improvements later, Jaguar launched a 5.3L V12 engine in its E-Type Series 3, transforming it with an infusion of torque and horsepower. Along with the engine, other modifications were made, including power steering and power brakes. The Series 3 are the most comfortable and the smoothiest of the E-Types. They are easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. The chassis number 1S21666 is finished in a classic and elegant Dark Blue color with a tan beige leather interior, a black convertible top and dark blue hardtop. Like most of the Left-Hand-Drive E-types of this generation, it was delivered new to the United States in December 1971 and stayed in America until 1995, when it was sold to South of France. The French owner enjoyed the car for 7 years. In 2002, it moved to Belgium with a Belgian lady who fell for its elegant color combination. The Jaguar was bought in February 2006 by its current owner, a Belgian passionate, and has stayed in his hands for 17 years. Here is a list of the main equipment and options: – Full leather interior – Beige carpets – Pioneer audio system – Wooden steering wheel – Wooden dashboard – 15 inch wire wheels / spoke rims – Black hood – Black hood cover – Hardtop in the color of the car – Chrome bumpers – Tulip exhaust Used and serviced regularly over the years, the XKE benefitted from some restoration works in 2017 : Hardtop renovation, replacement of the convertible top, front leather seats renovation, carpet cleaning, full bodywork polishing, new side windows, new radio antenna, new door and window seals Maintenance of the carburetors, oil filter, geometry, heating system maintenance, handbrake adjustment, new battery. Today, the counter shows a mileage of a bit more than 10.000 miles (probably corresponding to 110.000 miles). The car is in good condition, has a Belgian oldtimer registration and drives well. It comes with a Certificate of Conformity established by Jaguar Brussels, the original Operating, Maintenance and Service handbook and the Parts catalog. Documentation includes all invoices of the works done since 2006. In short, here is a nice E-type Jaguar to drive and enjoy on the beautiful roads of Europe. So, interested?
