Between 1967 and 1968, an interim phase was built, informally known as the '1 1/2'. These models closely resemble the Series 1 but, towards the end, no longer had the glass-covered headlights and featured different control levers. Gradually, equipment from the upcoming Series 2 was introduced, while the bodywork always remained that of the Series 1. At Jaguar itself, these '1 1/2' models were still classified under the Series 1. This particular example is an early Series 1.5, recognizable by its classic features such as the open headlights, the three SU carburetors, and the original dashboard with the characteristic Series 1 switches. Additionally, the elegant Series 1 bumpers have been retained, further enhancing its authentic appearance. The car was built in late 1967 and entered the market in 1968. in 2000, this Jaguar made its way to the Netherlands, imported from the United States by a passionate Dutch restorer. At the time, the American owner intended the car for racing, but the restorer saw its potential to be restored to top condition. Although the car was already in excellent shape, he chose not to race it but instead optimized the engine. Thanks to upgrades such as a higher compression ratio, improved cooling, and an advanced water pump, the engine underwent a full top-level rebuild in 2011. During this process, asbestos roofs were removed, and the technical aspects were completely improved.Since then, the Jaguar has remained in the hands of the same enthusiast. Originally purchased in completely original condition with an exceptionally low mileage, the car became practically a "zero-kilometer car" after the extensive nut-and-bolt restoration in 2011. Every detail has been meticulously refined, from the engine overhaul to the interior, resulting in an exceptionally sophisticated E-Type. This restoration, which continued until 2024, has brought the car back to a condition that surpasses its original glory. During the process, the Jaguar was equipped with high-quality components and finished with luxurious leather upholstery by an interior specialist. The exclusive Golden Sand color, from Jaguar's palette, was even applied to the original hardtop for a harmonious look. The whitewall tires complete the car. This Jaguar is not only a technical and aesthetic masterpiece but also fully documented, making it even more valuable. We are proud to share this masterpiece with you!
