The 2-door coupé, one of young Giorgetto Giugiaro’s absolute masterworks, is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulia platform and had its debut in September 1963 at the Frankfurt IAA. Initially called Giulia Sprint GT the car received its own Giugiaro/Bertone designed coachwork and was offered until 1975 in varying shapes and with varying displacement engines from 1.3 to 2 litres. Our 1750 GTV, of the much sought after first series cars with standing pedals, was delivered in Rome on the 18th May 1968. In 1970, the gorgeous Alfa Romeo was acquired by a Signor Marini in the Viterbo province, where the coupé had four further owners. In December 1991, the 1750 GTV was imported into Switzerland but never registered. In October 1994 the car was acquired by a new enthusiast in the French part who, with the intention of registering his car, had it repainted in its original colour. Probably due to lack of time the coupe remained partly disassembled and after a minor electrical fire was parked in a garage. In 2025, the Alfa, after a long hibernation, was rescued and brought back to life. It received a new dashboard, new wood veneer inlays, new rubber mats in the interior and in the boot as well as a new rear exhaust silencer. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced, and a major service was performed. Today, the rare 1750 GTV presents itself in good to very good condition. The coachwork seems original without any welding repairs and the original interior would let us assume that the 58’500 kilometres correspond with an actual mileage off 158’500 kilometres. The last Veteran MOT was completed in May 2025 allowing the beautiful Italian to be registered immediately.
