Commissioned by actor and enthusiast John Cena, this RS010 was designed and constructed by Christopher Rünge over a two-year period and completed in 2019. Beneath its polished aluminum skin lies a full steel tube frame supporting a 2,300 cc OHV flat-four fed by twin-choke Weber carburetors, paired to a 4-speed “Longbox” transaxle. The suspension is fully independent with Koni adjustable shocks and vented Porsche 356 B brakes at all corners. Inside, the cockpit reflects Rünge’s aviation inspiration: toggle switches sourced from 1950s aircraft, a MiG-jet clock integrated into the dash, and a “Lusso” leather interior with full sound insulation and 12-volt air conditioning. TecnoMagnesio wheels complete the lightweight specification. Following its debut at Monterey, the RS010 was sold through Bonhams to its current second owner, remaining in exceptionally limited use since completion. It is titled as a 1960 Runge RS Coupe and accompanied by documentation of its build and a bespoke tool kit made to match the car’s aesthetic. With only one example ever constructed, the RS010 stands as Rünge’s singular masterpiece—an unrepeatable fusion of artistry, engineering, and the timeless ideal of analog speed.
