  • 1963 Maserati Sebring 1

This matching-numbers Maserati Sebring was built at the Modena factory on 13 September 1963 and first registered on 23 October, and it has still had only four owners from new. Its original custodian was René Borgerhoff Mulder, who was based in Wassenaar – a small town just north of The Hague in The Netherlands. Borgerhoff Mulder was a wartime pilot who was reputedly a friend of Prince Bernhard, and competed in the Tulip Rally and Monte Carlo Rally on a number of occasions. He would regularly act as co-driver on such events for Hans Maasland, whose family owned the Maserati dealership in Voorburg from where Borgerhoff Mulder bought this Sebring. The documents from Maserati Classiche state that chassis number 01937 was originally finished in Blue Sera with red interior and had the five-speed ZF manual gearbox. It was also specified with the sought-after air-conditioning and Borrani wire wheels. Borgerhoff Mulder kept the Maserati until 1987, when it was sold to a Mr Stradmeier, who was a dentist and also based in Wassenaar. During his ownership, the car was restored by the Maasland dealership – a process that included a bare-metal respray and engine rebuild – and when he passed away it was inherited by his children. It changed hands again in 2011 but still didn’t move far, its next owner being based in Leiden, only a few kilometres up the road from Wassenaar. In 2016, the Sebring was sold to a UK-based enthusiast who had previously owned a number of Maseratis as well as a Ferrari 330 GTC. During his time with the car, it has been maintained regardless of cost by renowned specialist McGrath Maserati. Invoices totalling more than £40,000 from this period include a top-end rebuild of the engine. More recent expenditure includes an overhaul of the fuel system and air-conditioning, plus a new clutch and starter motor. The six-cylinder engine has been converted to run on triple Weber carburettors but the original Lucas fuel-injection system comes with the car should a future owner wish to have it refitted. Presented in its original colour combination, this Maserati Sebring has been fastidiously maintained and is offered for sale with a Maserati Classiche Certificate and a copy of the original delivery note, plus a wealth of invoices and receipts. As one of only 348 Series 1 cars, it is a rare and distinctive choice of Italian Grand Tourer. 1963 Maserati Sebring The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1962 Jaguar E-TYPE Competition '2 BBC'

For the first time in 60 years, the famous ‘2 BBC’ FHC Competition E-type is publicly available. Race-prepared for Jaguar racer and dealer Robin Sturgess, the car would take the 1962 British racing season by storm, beating many of the great names in the latest Aston Martin DB4GT Zagatos, and Ferraris 250SWB and GTOs. In 1962 alone, Sturgess and '2 BBC' came home with 12 victories and 10 further podiums – a record surely not matched by any other top-flight GT car of the period in a single year. Today the car is race-ready and a potential winner in pre-63 or the Kinrara Trophy, and complete with its original engine and close-ratio gearbox in the spares package. Very rarely does such a successful and significant early specification competition E-type come to market.  Please contact us for more details on this incredibly successful and original competition E-type. 1962 Jaguar E-TYPE Competition '2 BBC' Duncan Hamilton Rofgo Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1999 Ferrari 456 M GT

As one of only 640 examples with the manual 6-speed gearbox, this 456 in its “Modificato” variant was first registered on the 9th July 2001 and handed over to the first owner on the 19th July through garage Frey AG in Horw. For the considerable sum of 295’000 Swiss francs, he received a 2 + 2 sports car with a 5.5 litre V8 V12 delivering 442 hp, a beige leather interior, air conditioning, electrically operated windows and a sound system with a CD changer. In May 2004, within around 10’000 kilometres driven, the Ferrari was taken over by the vendor and initially driven regularly and enthusiastically. The last years though, this sporty coupé has been driven less and less and has spent most of the time in the family garage. Some maintenance receipts since 2011 are available and the most recent cambelt change was completed in February 2014 at 49’214 kilometres. With advancing years, the owner (born in 1936) now has decided to sell his thoroughbred Italian. From a 20-year ownership with now 72’000 kilometres driven and a service booklet, this Ferrari is in good overall condition but a major service should be performed in the near future. The most recent MOT was completed in February 2018. 1999 Ferrari 456 M GT Oldtimer Galerie International GmbH If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1989 Lamborghini Countach 2

Could Lamborghini have known, when it pulled the covers off the Countach LP500 prototype at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, that it was unveiling a legend? Certainly, all the right elements were there: The follow-up to the revolutionary Lamborghini Miura packed a screaming V-12, rear-mid-mounted for optimal balance; the low-slung chassis wore radical wedge bodywork penned by the great Marcello Gandini, complete with groundbreaking scissor doors. But there has always been something more to the Countach—something that made it far greater than the sum of its parts. This was a car that would inspire multiple generations of budding enthusiasts throughout its impressive production life. It is no less captivating, and inspiring, today. The Countach 25th Anniversary Edition, named in commemoration of the founding of the Lamborghini marque, was the car’s final and most evolved iteration. It is fitting that this model, the culmination of the legendary Countach lineage, bore the impression of Horacio Pagani. The modern-day hypercar maestro was, at the time, working for Lamborghini; his contributions to the 25th Anniversary Edition include a striking restyling of the car, which incorporated many of the aerodynamics-enhancing features he developed for the pioneering, composite-bodied Countach Evolution concept. In total, 657 25th Anniversary Edition Countachs were produced—an extreme, exclusive exclamation point at the end of a legendary model’s bull run. IMMORTALIZED ON THE SILVER SCREEN Based on the memoir of the same name, the 2013 Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street tells the real-life story of the meteoric rise—and precipitous fall—of stockbroker-turned- fraudster Jordan Belfort. Outrageous and darkly humorous in equal measure, the film is perfectly cast: Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Belfort, alongside Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, and Matthew McConaughey. The automotive casting, too, is on point, with a parade of late-1980s and early-1990s sports and luxury cars for the keen-eyed enthusiast to spot. But even the most casual observer could not miss the film’s automotive star: Belfort’s Bianco Polo over Bianco Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition. In an unforgettable scene toward the end of the film, an enraged and drug-addled Belfort drags himself into the Lamborghini and attempts to tear off into the night…only to crash repeatedly, badly damaging the car during his ill-fated trip home. It is fascinating to note that Jordan Belfort later claimed, via Twitter, that the car he had crashed “was actually a Mercedes in real life,” rather than the Lamborghini depicted in the movie. Yet no one who has watched The Wolf of Wall Street can deny that the Countach was the ideal choice for the scene. It is the perfect automotive complement to DiCaprio’s portrayal of Belfort—a bold, brash, risk-taker, often to his own detriment—and an example of how sometimes, a cinematic reinterpretation can ring truer than a strict portrayal of historical fact. Two 25th Anniversary Edition Countachs were used in the production of The Wolf of Wall Street. At least one other Countach, an earlier 5000 QV model with clear visual differences from the 25th Anniversary Edition cars, was also sourced, and may have been used to record engine noise for the film’s audio track. Shockingly, Scorsese insisted on the use of a genuine Countach in the infamous crash scene, reportedly because the filmmaker felt that a prop stand-in would not sustain authentic-looking damage. The car presently offered is the other film-used 25th Anniversary Edition car, which was not crashed on-screen. CLOSEUP ON A STAR COUNTACH One of just 12 25th Anniversary Edition Countach examples delivered to the United States finished in Bianco Polo over Bianco, this car has spent much of its life on the East Coast, moving between New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida in its early years. As was common practice at the time with many owners of US-delivery Countachs, the larger, US-specification front bumper was at some point swapped for a smaller, European-specification unit; further, the imposing rear wing was removed. At the time of the production of The Wolf of Wall Street, this car was owned by a Lamborghini connoisseur in Maryland. Exercised consistently, yet moderately, through its life, the Lamborghini was actually piloted by its owner from the Baltimore area to New York for filming! A 10 March 2014 letter on file from Picture Cars East—the New York firm that supplied the Lamborghini to Red Granite Pictures for use in the filming of The Wolf of Wall Street via its private owner—confirms that this was one of two such cars used for production of the movie. The letter also confirms that, of the two Countachs used in filming, this car is the non-crashed example. A close viewing of the completed film, as well as examination of behind-the-scenes photos taken on set, reveals notable differences between the two 25th Anniversary Edition Countachs used in production. In addition to the front bumper (the car offered here still had its European-specification front bumper fitted during filming, while the other car retained its larger US-specification unit) and lack of a rear wing, this car was also fitted with a distinctive black-and-white steering wheel. This steering wheel is clearly visible in a scene where DiCaprio arrives at the Belfort home and exits the car, confirming that it was used in some close-up shots. The presently offered car was also used in driving sequences, and a nighttime driving shot shows the smaller, European-spec front bumper that was fitted to this car at the time of filming. Interestingly, the unmissable rear wing was temporarily attached to this chassis for continuity purposes; only studied Lamborghini experts would have noticed the differing front bumpers in the final cut. Later acquired by the consignor from its longtime enthusiast owner, the Countach was subsequently re-fitted with its United States-specification front bumper, and its large rear wing was re-installed. This returned the car to its factory-correct, as-originally-delivered cosmetic appearance as seen today—and it also brought it into visual alignment with its companion Countach 25th Anniversary Edition, which was used in The Wolf of Wall Street’s crash scene. Few cars pack the awe-inspiring presence of the Lamborghini Countach; its shocking, sculptural form and soul-stirring performance truly make it a machine for the ages. Thanks to its pivotal appearance in one of the most unforgettable movies of the modern era, this 25th Anniversary Edition car boasts provenance unsurpassed by its peers—making it arguably one of the most significant Countach examples in existence. Put simply, this Wolf of Wall Street Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition represents a unique opportunity to acquire an undeniable cultural icon: Lamborghini’s most famous Raging Bull, elevated to epic heights and immortalized in the popular consciousness by its role on the silver screen. 1989 Lamborghini Countach RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Could Lamborghini have known, when it pulled the covers off the Countach LP500 prototype at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, that it was unveiling a legend? The Berlinetta Boxer debuted at the 1971 Turin Motor Show and charted an entirely new course for Ferrari design that still influences the company’s products today. The company’s first-ever mid-engine 12-cylinder road car introduced radically different proportions and angular styling by Pininfarina’s Leonardo Fioravanti. Its final incarnation, the 1981 Ferrari 512 BBi, featured Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection for cleaner emissions and a better balance of performance and drivability. Production ran from 1981 to 1984 with a total of 1,007 examples. Though never officially sold in the United States, some Berlinetta Boxers were imported and federalized via the gray market. The importer for this 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi is listed as Ferrari North America Inc. in the online registry of Ferrari Beverly Hills, which also notes factory exterior colors of Nero over Beige leather. The car is believed to have remained in California until the early nineties. Its first CARFAX entry is a September 1991 emissions inspection in San Francisco. Ferrari of Los Gatos would offer it for sale in 1992, simply described as black with tan interior. Service invoices on file from December 2006 place the car in Houston, Texas, where Vintage Motor Cars performed a timing belt service and refurbished parts of the air conditioning system, brakes, valvetrain, fuel system, exhaust, and electrical wiring. Mileage is listed as 50,139 miles on the invoice. The 512 BBi next passed to an owner in Alabama, according to 2007 service invoices on file. He would retain the car for about six years and have Ferrari of Atlanta correct issues with the electrical and fueling systems in 2010 and perform another timing belt service in 2012. A Ferrari of Atlanta invoice from August 2012 logged mileage of 52,098 miles. An owner in New York acquired the Ferrari in 2013 and would have the suspension system and steering rack overhauled the following year. In 2016, Wehrmann Engineering of Hauppauge, New York, removed the engine and replaced the timing belts, tensioner bearings, and gaskets, rebuilt the distributor, cleaned the fuel injectors, zinc-plated various hardware, and refurbished the differential, installing an aftermarket billet carrier. In 2017, the owner installed a set of 17-inch aftermarket wheels patterned after the 512 BBi’s factory five-spoke 16-inch Campangolo wheels and shod with Continental ExtremeContact tires. An aftermarket exhaust system is said to have been installed in 2019. The removed exhaust and factory-style metric wheels mounted with correct Michellin TRX tires are included in the sale, along with a tool kit, a factory-style Momo steering wheel date-coded June 1984, and a Ferrari-branded Pioneer graphic equalizer. After enjoying the 512 BBi for nearly 10 years, the New York owner would part with it in June 2022, at which time the consignor acquired it with 66,037 miles showing on the odometer. Scarcely driven under current ownership, the odometer read 66,588 miles at cataloguing time. The consignor’s mechanic noted that there is an intermittent issue with the key switch start position, so an auxiliary starter button has been added to occasionally aid in starting. Presented today in its factory-correct color scheme and with distinctive hallmarks for the model—including its gated shifter, Daytona-style seats, and a Ferrari-branded Pioneer stereo cassette player—this 512 BBi would be an excellent candidate to drive and enjoy as is or return to factory specifications by reinstalling the included original-style wheels, exhaust, steering wheel, and graphic equalizer. 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1965 Shelby Cobra 427

40th Anniversary 427 S/C Cobra Limited production, 18 of 40 Aluminum body 427 C.I. Aluminum engine, 550 HP Powerful, lightweight, and an American icon, the Shelby 427 Cobra was the brainchild of sports car builder Carroll Shelby. While the original CSX3000 series of 427 Cobras ended production in 1967, the insatiable appetite for Cobras from the public around the world did not. During this time, many companies tried to make similar examples using Shelby's tried-and-true formula of lightweight cars with massively powerful engines but were never true Shelby Cobras. Then in 1996, almost three decades after the last original 427 Cobra rolled off the production line, the new CSX4000 series was born. Now offered by Shelby American, Inc., no Cobra kit manufacturer could offer what the American company now produced: True Shelby authenticity. CSX4000 series cars were offered in both fiberglass and aluminum-bodied forms, with the aluminum examples being rare, almost doubling the purchase price of the car due to their labor-intensive hand-formed panels. These Shelby Cobras were delivered to authorized dealers as rolling chassis for the final fitment of the engine and transmission, allowing the new owner to choose a power plant and transmission of their choice. Since 1962, when Carroll Shelby built the first Cobra, many companies have tried to make a copy of this iconic sports car. Most are offered in kit form, and the customer is left to assemble or build the car themselves. Beginning in the late 1990s, Carroll himself decided that he would produce a continuation Cobra, featuring a hand-crafted aluminum body, 4-inch round tube chassis, and many of the same mechanical components as the original 427 Cobras had. In 2002, Carroll Shelby authorized a run of 40 CSX 4000 Cobras to be produced with special features to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Cobra. This car is 18 of only 40 anniversary Cobras produced. Exterior features include special "Anniversary Blue" paint, street bumpers with overrides sun visors, wind wings, chrome roll bar, ceramic coated side pipes, and a cooling splitter in the grille opening. Interior features include leather seats and dash, 40th-anniversary commemorative gauges and floor mats, door pockets, glove box (signed by Carroll Shelby), heater/defroster, ashtray, lighter, and shoulder belts. The drivetrain consists of an all-aluminum 427 big block engine mated to a big shaft Top Loader 4-speed transmission. The independent rear differential features an aluminum center section housing 3.54:1 gears. Included with the car is the original M.S.O. signed by Carroll Shelby, build photos, and receipts. The Shelby CSX cars are the only Cobras to be licensed by Shelby American and are documented and included in the Shelby American Automobile Club World Registry. This 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 has been meticulously cared for and recently underwent significant maintenance and upgrades. In August 2022, the fuel system received a thorough overhaul, with the fuel cell inspected and fuel cell foam replaced by Fuel Safe, a carburetor rebuild, and the installation of a new fuel pressure gauge and filter. Upon arriving at Canepa, the cobra was inspected from front to back and given a checklist of what items needed to be addressed. The car was given a full mechanical inspection and servicing as needed, then sent to our detailing department where it was given a full detailing. The blue paint finish was polished using only foam pads to bring a deep luster to the surface. The interior was thoroughly cleaned, leaving it spotless and in excellent condition. This Cobra is not just a collector's dream; it's a remarkable driving experience with a blend of classic charm and modern reliability. Don't miss the opportunity to own this iconic American muscle car. The wait for a new CSX Cobra is over two years. • 1991 Porsche 962 C

Few cars define their era in the same way as the legendary Porsche 956 and 962 sports-prototypes. They formed the mainstay of top-level sports car racing throughout the 1980s, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans six years in a row and dominating the World Endurance Championship between 1982 and 1986. The 956 was introduced first, in 1982, and found immediate success in Group C racing, but it wasn’t eligible for the high-profile North American IMSA series because it failed to comply with the safety regulations. Porsche therefore developed the 962—in effect, a 956 with an extended wheelbase in order to place the driver’s feet behind the front-axle line. The 962 made its debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona in February 1984 in the hands of Italian-American hero Mario Andretti and his son Michael. It would go on to win the IMSA GTP Championship three years in a row from 1985 and, following an extensive programme of aerodynamic development, was adapted for Group C racing as the 962 C. While the Porsche factory team scored numerous wins with its own cars, it was backed up by a select group of highly professional privateer teams. Among the most successful of those was Brun Motorsport, which had been founded in 1983 by Swiss racer Walter Brun and soon established itself as a front-runner with both the 956 and 962. In 1986, victories in the World Endurance Championship rounds at Jerez and Spa-Francorchamps helped Brun Motorsport to secure the Teams’ title ahead of the works Jaguar and Porsche squads. Such was the inherent quality of the 962 that it remained competitive well into the 1990s, and chassis number 962-177 was supplied to Brun Motorsport as a bare tub in 1991. The Swiss team then built it up into a complete car in time for it to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 22-23 June. Driven by Walter Brun himself, along with team stalwarts Jésus Pareja and Oscar Larrauri, chassis 962-177 set the sixth-fastest time during practice for the French endurance classic. With that year’s regulations having reserved the top-10 grid positions for the latest 3.5-litre, normally aspirated generation of cars, the car was forced to start the race from 14th, but it made it to the finish in 10th place overall. By the time it raced again, in the Nürburgring 430km on 18 August, it had been resprayed from its original Repsol colours into the livery of logistics company FAT International. Pareja and Brun took it to 7th place in Germany, then finished an unclassified 12th at Magny-Cours on 15 September. The final outing for chassis 962-177 came on 6 October at the Mexico 430km, where the car was once again finished in Repsol colours; Pareja and Massimo Sigala finished 8th. Three years later, in 1994, it was fully restored by another great name among Porsche privateers—Joest Racing—and returned to its evocative FAT International livery. The extensive work is fully documented and included a complete rebuild of its Typ 935/86, twin-turbocharged, 3.2-litre flat-six engine and gearbox. With all four of its period competition outings being at World Championship level in the hands of Brun Motorsport, chassis 962-177 boasts an impeccable race record. It also holds a special place in marque history as being the very last Porsche-built 962 monocoque—the end of an illustrious and incredibly successful line. A mechanical recommissioning will be performed by LARBRE Competition, at seller’s charge, following the sale. • 1965-porsche-915

This 1965 Porsche 911 is a very interesting example that has been modified for race use over the years. The car is currently finished in black over a red base - although the original color was Dolphin Gray- with red paint showing through on the interior and under the hood and rear decklid. The paint shows significant patina around the car, including some peeled paint in areas and the remnants of old racing numbers ghosted on the front bonnet. In Europe, there is a robust racing series for these early 911s, and this car is a prime candidate for that. This example was set up by the head of PCA’s racing division, so it drives spectacularly and is currently set up for street use. Although this car has been extensively modified for track use, it has been lovingly cared for over the years and retains nearly all of the original records back to new, as well as the 1965 record books. Sitting on a set of chrome Fuchs 5-spoke wheels, it comes with two pairs of spare wheels, including the original steel wheels that have been powder-coated silver. The interior is largely stripped out but does retain some of the classic early 911 hallmarks. The carpet has been entirely removed and the floor is simply red painted metal, but the door cards and rear quarter panels remain in the original arrangement. The Sparco race seats that were in the car have been replaced by the original-style low-back bucket seats which are great for street use and make the car simple to get in and out of. Porsche fans will note the original wood dashboard has been retained as have the 5-gauge cluster with the classic green text on a black background. When you get into the driver’s seat, you are met with a 3-spoke MOMO steering wheel with an Alcantara rim, and the peddles have been replaced with drilled aluminum racing pedals that offer great grip when driving. Sitting in the rear of the car is a 2.0-liter flat-6 that was thoroughly serviced by Porsche specialist Jerry Woods. The engine breathes through a pair of triple-choke PMO carburetors and an MSD ignition is fitted for better spark control. This engine is not the original unit to the car but instead a correct replacement from a 1966 911. When you open the front bonnet, you notice an ATL competition fuel cell that was FIA-certified in 1999. As the car weighs less than 1,900 lbs, the 2.0-liter engine makes it feel remarkably quick, and the properly set up suspension allows you to carry tremendous speed through corners. These early Porsche 911s are special cars with the short wheelbase only in production until 1969. As the value of early cars continues to rise, the prospect of buying one to turn into a race car is largely unrealistic, which makes buying an already converted example particularly appealing for vintage competition use. Regardless of whether or not you plan to take this car to the track or use it as a fast road car on the weekends, nothing compares to the nimble chassis, revvy small-displacement flat-6, and a sub-1900 lb curb weight from behind the wheel. 1965 Porsche 911 ISSIMI, Inc If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1963 Maserati Sebring

Presented in its original colour combination, this Maserati Sebring has been fastidiously maintained and is offered for sale at The Classic Motor Hub with a Maserati Classiche Certificate and a copy of the original delivery note, plus a wealth of invoices and receipts. As one of only 348 Series 1 cars, it is a rare and distinctive choice of Italian Grand Tourer. MODEL HISTORY Maserati had achieved great motorsport success during the 1950s, but had built production road cars in only very small numbers until the 1957 introduction of the 3500GT. This stylish new model drew on Maserati’s racing experience but would be produced in far greater quantities than previous road cars. Originally launched as a 2+2 coupé, the 3500GT featured bodywork by Touring that was mounted on a tubular chassis. Beneath the bonnet was a 3485cc straight-six that was closely related to the marque’s competition engines and featured twin overhead camshafts, twin-plug ignition and a trio of twin-choke Webers. Upgrades applied during the model’s production run included a five-speed gearbox in place of the previous four-speeder and all-round disc brakes, while the 3500GTI gained a Lucas fuel-injection system that would also be used on the Sebring. First seen in prototype form at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show, the Sebring was based on the short-wheelbase chassis of the 3500 Vignale Spyder. Suspension was independent at the front via wishbones and coil springs, with a live axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear. Steering was by recirculating ball, and options included a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox, air-conditioning and a limited-slip differential. At more than £5000 in 1963, the expensive and exclusive Sebring occupied a rarefied spot at the top end of the 1960s GT market, with its few rivals including the Ferrari 330 GT and Aston Martin DB5. Autocar recorded a top speed of almost 140mph when it tested a Sebring and said: ‘Undoubtedly the jewel in this car is its splendid engine, which is virtually beyond criticism.’ A facelifted Series II Sebring was introduced in 1965, when the engine was enlarged to 3.7 litres. A 4-litre variant producing just over 250bhp was also offered, but sales began to fall away after the announcement of the V8-powered Ghibli and production ended in 1968. 1963 Maserati Sebring The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 2

The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2.0-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra 'RS500 Cosworth'. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980s Fast Ford! Around 14 years ago, our vendor, a knowledgeable and particularly fastidious enthusiast, decided that he would like to add an RS500 to his Collection. He knew what he wanted but took the precaution of enlisting the help of a friend who was a marque expert. They considered a number of cars, including some lovely examples, but were focused on finding the best RS500 they possibly could. A number of other contenders were rejected until, one day, E378 TKN appeared and was unquestionably 'the one'. Its originality was unmatched, the mileage was nominal (even today it has only covered 5,192 miles) and it had patently been cared for. Although very lightly used during our vendor's tenure, it was regularly serviced and maintained during this period by Tremona Garage of Southampton, a local specialist widely recognised as being hugely knowledgeable when it comes to Fords from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. They are also known for preparing cars to a Concours standard with much success in the Autoglym Masterclass and others. Who better to entrust with an RS 500 that may well turn out to be the best and most original RS500 to come to market. The attention to the detail of this car's maintenance cannot be understated. Our client has impressively managed to source a supply of rare new/old stock oil filters, fuel filters etc. so, not for this car a modern oil filter of the correct type, but an original orange one that would have been supplied when new. This 'forensic' attention to originality can be illustrated by our vendor's purchase of a set of period RS 500 wheels and tyres in order that TKN's date-stamped originals can be carefully stored and not have to bear the weight of the car for prolonged periods. This diligent approach is typical of our vendor and will explain why this gleaming black RS500 may well be the best you have ever seen. In 2022, Tremona carried out a full re-commissioning service on E378 TKN including the replacement of engine oil and filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, cambelt and a new battery. All parts used are genuine new/old stock parts and are identical to parts fitted at the factory. The engine oil filter is a Fram PH2854, spark plugs are Motorcraft AGPR 901C and a black Weber fuel filter was fitted. All these parts have not been available for many years and have been sourced to maintain the car's originality. As mentioned, the original Dunlop D40s are on the stored wheels, the original Ford exhaust system is still in place, the factory fog lamps remain in the boot awaiting fitting by the dealers and there is a file full of history detailing the car's life. Recently refreshed and with a fresh MOT, E378 TKN will be presented at Race Retro on its original wheels. Silverstone Auctions are proud to have been involved in the sale of many cars at World Record prices, many of them Fords. With 'Fast Fords' seemingly knowing no bounds in their desirability, and this one believed to be the very best example of the ultimate 1980s Fast Ford, we invite and encourage any serious collector to inspect this superb, 5,000-mile Cosworth as its type is unlikely to be found again. 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985.
